Personal Description:
I am an experienced primary school teacher and Headteacher with significant teaching expertise at KS1 and KS2. I am also a qualified SENCO and have vast experience in SEN. I am a Headteacher in an excellent local school and set high standards for all my pupils. I am able to offer tuition in English, Maths and Science at both key stages. I am based in Epping but can travel to you by negotiation. I can provide references on request from past and present clients who have achieved and continue to achieve success in their studies at all levels. I enjoy seeing my pupils make rapid progress and achieving academic success.

Teaching Experience:

I specialise in Entrance Examinations at 7+ and 11+, SEN and tuition for pupils who lack confidence and skills and need support to improve. I have vast experience teaching within excellent local schools and I am currently a Headteacher in a large Junior School. I teach children on a 1-2-1 basis to ensure that they receive the additional input that they need in order to achieve. I specialise in assisting children who lack confidence in specific areas and I am able to assist these children in improving their skill levels within their own school. I can provide excellent references on request from many happy pupils and parents.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a patient and understanding tutor with the ability to communicate effectively with both adults and children. My aim is to ensure that pupils develop additional skills and increased confidence in their studies. I make my lessons fun and enjoyable for pupils so that they are able to enjoy learning and are keen to attend my tutoring sessions. I keep parents updated on their children's progress on a regular basis and encourage children to share worries about specific subject areas so that we can explore them together.

Personal Description:
I am an elite tutor with a Masters Degree in English Literature from the University of Cambridge. I specialise in English and Drama, and I also speak Italian to near fluency. I studied at Trinity College, Cambridge and I am now a full time theatre director, working freelance. I have worked on shows in the West End, at the National Theatre and the Almeida Theatre among others.

I also have specialist experience of Oxbridge admissions and drama school applications.

My literature specialties are Shakespeare, American literature and all literature of the last thirty years.

Teaching Experience:

I have now been tutoring consistently for over seven years. Every one of my students has achieved the highest possible grade in the subjects in which I have tutored them.

Testimonies from previous students:

'We could never have done it without Tom'

'Tom was everything we could have asked for in a tutor. Helpful, reliable and seemed to gel immediately with our son'

'Tom was able to sort out many difficult areas in the syllabus.
Through the course of the lessons I gained the confidence and clarity needed for a very important exam.
I highly recommend Tom as he is a patient and kind teacher that I believe can provide help to any student struggling with drama.'

I worked as a volunteer teacher at an international school in Swaziland for three months, running drama classes and English classes. I also coached the school rugby team. In the drama classes I focused very much on basic dramatic skills through games and exercises, while the English classes were much more specific, focusing on Shakespeare texts and working in particular on Graham Swift's 'Waterland', which was a set text for the IB exam that year. I am currently affiliated with the National Youth Theatre as well as several drama schools; I work with educational projects in theatres and drama schools around London, working closely and extensively with students and young people.

Tutoring Approach:

When I tutor I like to be very open and conversational with the student. What is especially important is that the student comes away with the belief not that they have been dictated to, but that they have discovered things for themselves. I ask a lot of questions, guiding the student towards a conclusion rather than imposing it directly. This makes for a very interactive and exciting experience, an experience that contrasts perfectly with the proscriptive, curricular methods of traditional schoolteaching.

My approach also enables me to adapt to the needs of each individual student, and to have conversations both with them and with their parents. I recognise that each tutee has specific, unique needs, and I am totally prepared to adjust my style to such needs.

Personal Description:
I am a very experienced teacher, head of faculty, head of sixth form, examiner and writer. I have recently worked for one of the major examination boards on the new specifications for both G.C.S. E and A2 Level.

During my career as a teacher I have taught philosophy and religious studies to Advanced level and English, history, religious studies, geography and citizenship to G.C.S.E. I also specialise in developing study skills and examination techniques in a range of subjects. I have prepared VI form students for university and UCAS application, including Oxbridge, and acted as a mentor to new entrants to the teaching profession.

I am a freelance writer specialising in education, social, religious and moral issues and I also create e-learning resources for an international educational e-learning-platform provider.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience at both G.C.S.E. and Advanced level has been extensive. I am an examiner for two major exam boards and have diverse experience of creating original teaching resources tailored to the needs of pupils.

I have spent most of my career teaching across the ability and age range in 11-18 comprehensive schools although I have also taught in the independent sector.

I am also a part-time on-line tutor for one of the Oxford colleges.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that the key to success for most pupils is to develop their skills and self-confidence to enhance their ability to successfully complete their examination by developing study skills and examination techniques.

My first session with a tutee and their parents is to establish their needs and goals. Together we draw up a plan of the work which we will pursue. This plan will be reviewed regularly and a progress report compiled.
Each of the subsequent sessions comprises of:
review of any homework set
review of any problems which have occurred that week
lesson on a topic previously decided upon
My primary aim is to help my tutees overcome any difficulties which they are having with their work and to help them to achieve their goals both in the short-term and the long term. Secondly, I aim to give my tutees confidence in their own abilities and to help them develop their skills necessary to succeed in their examinations.
Relevant homework is set as a means of reinforcing the development of skills since assessment and feedback procedures largely rely on this.

Personal Description:
I have done My M.sc. Physics & M.Sc. Mobile and Satellite Communications. I studies Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics as major subjects in B.Sc. I am a passionate teacher and well aware of the teacher student relationship.I understand students difficulties in understanding difficult concepts and know how to help them understand.

Teaching Experience:

I am teaching GCSE/A Level students from previous seven years. I have prepared my own exam based helping material for students which proves really helpful for them. Most of my students get A/A* grades.

Tutoring Approach:

Well the purpose of hiring a tutor is to understand concepts which a student neither can understand in a class nor himself/herself.Only tutoring gives a student one to one attention of the teacher and thus better understanding.
My approach is to both, develop concepts and help the students to get good grades as well, as both are important.Teaching students how to attempt the questions in exams.I am quite a friendly person and never get irritated.I am ready to teach a difficult concept 10 times to a student until he understands

Personal Description:
My first teaching job was in Kenya when I was 19, and since then I have taught English in Mexico, Brazil, Japan and England. My students have ranged from 4 to 94, and from beginners to doctors and academic researchers, focusing on conversation, business, or exams, depending on the student's needs.

I have a passion for language, whether listening to strangers on the bus or exploring grammatical structures, and my students pick up my enthusiasm and enjoyment.

I have written a book on psychology, linguistics and science, edited children's books and academic texts, and worked as a translator of both Portuguese and Japanese.

My BSc is in Life Sciences with the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine, and I am interested in nearly everything, except football and cars.

Teaching Experience:

2010-present: ESL teacher, language coach for academics, and private tutor to Japanese kids.

2006-2010: Private English tutor (in MG, Brazil).

2001-2005: High School teacher and private tutor (in Kyoto, Japan)
1999-2001: Elementary and Junior High School English teacher, also special needs class (in Fukushima, Japan).

1997: Teacher for tortillas and lodging in the jungle (in Chiapas, Mexico)

1995: Volunteer school teacher of English, Science & Maths (in rural Kenya)

Tutoring Approach:

I use only English in my lessons, encouraging my students to speak as much as possible, and to correct their own or each other's errors wherever possible.

My emphasis is on fluency, natural language and confidence, so when teaching grammar or considering problems, the student can refer to concrete examples in their heads, rather than abstract formulae in textbooks.

I use a broad range of materials, techniques, and situations, setting high standards and pushing my students to work hard towards accuracy and creativity in English.

Though I am happy teaching one-to-one, I find that a group of two to four students can be more dynamic, more relaxed, and a better environment for free expression and mutual correction. If you agree, I might invite you to join a class of students at a similar level, which makes the lesson much more economical for you.

Personal Description:
I am a fifth year medical student at Imperial College London and recently completed my BSC degree in healthcare management from Imperial Business School.

During my school career I achieved 8 A* and 4 A's. Furthermore I achieved 1 A* and 3 A's during my A levels, additionally I also achieved another A at As level in Further Maths. My AS physics grade was the best in my year achieving. 296/300 UMS. I have participated in the UK maths challenge achieving the bronze and silver award.

Teaching Experience:

I helped teach many students from younger years in a range of subjects and enjoyed watching them progress and improve. I think the fact that having just been through what most of these students are going through gives me a slight advantage due to my knowledge being recent and up to date. I also have experience in teaching A-level Maths as well as GCSE Maths.

I have previously served on Imperial College's Interview Panel for Medicine as there student representative and thus have an extensive insight into the interview process, the typical questions asked and the factors that differentiate candidates. I am ex-president of one of Imperial largest education society running a host of events including PotMed, a workshop attended by more than 200 secondary school students aimed at helping individuals in there medical school application process.

Tutoring Approach:

I am patient and calm in my approach and try to ensure that each of my students understands the concepts of what I am teaching. I appreciate that each student is different and the approach taken to each of them must remain flexible.

Personal Description:
I began at the University of Virginia in 2014 and have now returned home to England for the summer! I WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THE BEGINNING OF JULY TO THE 19TH OF AUGUST. I completed my A levels in 2013 and am currently studying towards a double major in Foreign Affairs and Psychology. I'm a fun, hard working and energetic character whose always had a passion for working with children.

Because I`ve recently finished school I am very familiar with how the exam system runs, and know where the 'crunch' times will occur. As I am at university in America currently, I have completed the SATs multiple times so can help teach time management as I myself had to struggle to stay on top of 13 applications and extra essays!

I want to help kids create effective and fun ways to revise so that they can overcome the stress of everyday work loads and exams.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored many different children on a weekly basis since 2013. Their ages range from 8-14 and at the moment I teach French, maths, English and verbal skills. I've been able to see a huge improvement with the kids that I worked with and I love getting to know each of them and build a relationship of trust and fun!

I have worked with children with disabilities for 4 years now, including those with autism and other mental challenges, to those with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy. Working with children will not be difficult for me as I have also casually tutored friends on areas of work they found particularly hard, as well as helped them create work plans so they could stay on top of their studies. In addition, I have been selected to be an academic advisor to students entering their first years of university.

Tutoring Approach:

I think the most important part of being a tutor is helping the child find an effective strategy to deal with their work load. Whether that means using flash cards, creating mnemonics or testing, I want to make the process as fun as possible. In addition, I think helping anyone with their general work load will mean aiding them in creating usable structures and easy step plans so a 5 page essay can be managed in small bitesize sections. Learning time management is also equally important, so I would emphasise this too in my teaching.

I like to keep the lessons as fun and interesting as possible. Of course, work still needs to be done, but I don't like being forceful or strict. I want a child to be able to see me as someone to look up to and look forward to our lessons, rather than dread them!

Extra work is up to the child/parents, I'm happy to set prep so long as it isn't getting in the way of the child's other studies.

Personal Description:
I am working as a Research Associate at Imperial College London. I received my PhD in Control Theory from City, University of London in October 2016. I graduated in Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering and I hold a Master Degree in Telecommunications and Networks. Also, I have Teaching Certificate in Academic Practice awarded by Higher Education Academy.

Being at University raises my awareness of stress that students might feel if not doing well in mathematics. Therefore, teaching gives me a great deal of satisfaction to help students to improve their maths knowledge and progress further.

Teaching Experience:

I teach on a wide range of university modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include: Engineering Mathematics, Mathematics and Computation, Programming and Design (C, Python), Digital Logic, Digital Signal Processing and Linear & Non-Linear Systems. Since this academic year I am a Widening Participation Tutor working with pupils from as young as Year 5 all the way to Year 13 at schools and colleges around London.

Tutoring Approach:

I always work at a pace that suits each individual student, making the subjects interesting, fun and accessible for students so they will learn more easily and remember more. My lessons are well detailed and prepared to give the student with as much knowledge as possible. I encourage them to practice more and advise them on exam technique and how to achieve better grades.

Personal Description:
Everyone calls me Olu, I am young, friendly but strict (I don't know where that came from). I am a doctorate degree student of Nuclear Robotics. I bagged a distinction in my Masters degree and a first class in my Bachelor's program all thanks to those I have taught during revision. You know I have noticed that you study harder when you study to teach others.

So yes, in the area of academics, I have come a long way, learning and teaching, the cycle never ends. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing knowledge, this is one thing I do with passion..<< don't tell anyone >>.

I do not only consider teaching as a Job, but also as a hobby as it is fun making people understand what they had thought was confusing.

Teaching Experience:

My Teaching Experience dates back to my days as an A'Level student preparing for the GCE Cambridge A'Levels Exam in 2005. I made sure I carried all my colleagues along by conducting regular free tutorials.

When I got into the University, I continued. Every other evenings and every weekend, I would take part in tutorial sessions for my colleagues and sometimes for junior colleagues. This I did from 2006 to 2011.

In 2012, I registered as an Online-Tutor and have engaged a number of students in America and UK on mathematics and engineering related subjects. Not to mention that I have been involved in peer revision meetings all through my post graduate days at the University of Manchester where I took charge of conducting Mock Examinations.

To me, this has been fun.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is very very simple:

Step 1: Ask you what area you have problems with.
Step 2: Tell you to go on and teach me the aspects you know and even the aspects you do not know.
Step 3: I will take note of your strengths and weaknesses.
Step 4: Leave the rest to me, the tutorials would be worth the time and pay.

PS: Many times, from experience, students think they have problems with a topic, but all they have is just "no confidence about what they know". That is where we come in, to restore your confidence in the things you know and add to it. Hence, my best approach is to keep the interaction "both-ways".

Personal Description:
I am an electronics and telecoms engineering college graduate. I have an overseas degree in law. I work for a big transport infrastructure company as an engineering manager. I love teaching and sharing my vast knowledge in that which I know.

Teaching Experience:

My experience is mainly in coaching and one to one instruction and mentoring. I am patient and I go that extra to make sure the student gets the best of what I offer.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is to give an overview of the value of education in general and to establish interest in the subject. I then coach the student to understand that the success story is centred on him or her no matter how good I am. In other words I give 5-10 free minutes of motivating the student before the real lesson

I am a BSc Psychology student at UCL with 2 years experience in private tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

2 years of private 1 on 1 teaching from home.

Tutoring Approach:

I have always been a hard worker with strong ambitions, so this is the approach that I tend to integrate in my teaching style. Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic and exciting ex-Teacher and Science tutor with a Masters degree in Stem Cell Research. I enjoy empowering students, giving them the confidence to push themselves to bigger and better things. I'm easy to talk to and able to relate to students, regularly building excellent relationships which helps the whole teaching process.
I have a keen interest in football and socialising, and I come up with novel ways to teach students using methods which cannot be used in the classroom due to the numbers of pupils and time restrictions.

Teaching Experience:

My teacher training took place at Tarleton Academy in Lancashire, alongside my PGCE degree on a course called a SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training). I taught all three Sciences and was seen as a crucial part of a young and exciting Science Department.
After completing my training, I was employed by my High school as a Science Teacher and was seen as one of the most exciting young teachers to come through the school in recent years. I taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics and pushed higher end pupils to new levels, giving them A Level and AS level material to challenge themselves with.
I recently left the profession to gain a different experience as a Manager in a Multi-million pound business, however I have kept my passion for teaching by tutoring students throughout this time.

Tutoring Approach:

I strive to empower students to make the most of their ability. I enjoy passing on my knowledge and the moment students realise that something is not as difficult as they thought. The 'Click' as I like to call it.
I'm easy to talk to and a good listener with the enthusiasm and skills to motivate students.
