| Personal Description: I am a naturally enthusiastic and passionate personality. I have the zest for life and able to infect my students with drive for excellence in all I do. I have a strong passion for teaching. My students have often gone ahead with their confidence built up after one or more sessions with me. |
Teaching Experience: I have had quite up to 8 years experience in tutoring students Maths, Physics ,Chemistry Electronics/Electrical , Technology at the GCSE, AS and A2 levels, university degree level and Adult learner . I have worked with students sitting exams with AQA, OCR, IB, EDEXCEL, and CIE. Most of my students have greatly benefited from my wealth of teaching experience. I have worked with colleges and schools whose names I can provide to students on personal request over the years and at the same time private students too. I HAVE BEEN MADE AN ASSESSOR/MARKER WITH A FOREMOST UK A-LEVEL EXAMINING BODY. This is due to my wealth of experience. I have documents to show on request by students and parents. |
Tutoring Approach: I love to employ the imaginative and mental-visual capacity of my students in driving home educational concepts and principles to them. This has enabled me to improve a great deal the analytical skills of my students. In this way, I easily make gurus out of them. As a matter of principle, I believe my students do not yet understand a concept until they can possibly solve every past paper on it. This is why past paper solving is an integral part of my teaching style |

| Personal Description: Hello! I am 33 years old, originally from Denmark and moved to the UK 8 years ago for my degree. Before teaching, I worked as a monkey veterinary technician in the US, conducted my Masters research on crop-raiding macaques in Indonesia, and helped to run a volunteer expedition in the Amazon. After a couple of years of teaching, I heard the call of the wild again and travelled for a year through Mexico and Central America, from where I have recently returned. But through all of my disparate and exotic experiences, I maintained a passion for education, teaching and tutoring, and used my skills to volunteer, teaching in various communities along the way. My CRB is currently being updated as I have been out of the country for more than 3 months. |
Teaching Experience: I completed my teaching degree in 2007 at Canterbury Christ Church University. I trained in two very different types of schools, private Catholic school and selective high school, which gave me the experience to engage students of different abilities and backgrounds. I also received training to teach EAL and SEN students. I am a qualified teacher of Science, but as a fluent Spanish linguist also taught Spanish as part of my regular timetable. I teach Biology up to A level, Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE level. |
Tutoring Approach: Students, young and old, don't like subjects they don't think they can succeed in. My approach is to break down material, relate it to everyday life and interests, and positively reinforce all the way to build up confidence. I am stubborn (!) and I don't give up until it's mastered. |

| Personal Description: My name is Ruben, I was born in Italy. I am son of an Italian father and a French mother; being born and raised in Como, my hometown, was a pleasure. But, at age 13 my parents decided to leave Europe to go live in Bali, Indonesia. I spent most of my adolescence on the island of Bali before living independently throughout my last two years of high school in Guam, U.S.A. I have been successful in my efforts to achieve the International Baccalaureate Diploma, achieving an overall score of 38. My subjects included Spanish, History, English and Biology at higher level whilst economics, maths and philosophy were my standard levels. I have previously tutored children ranging from 12 to 18 years of age. I am a demanding tutor, yet fun and outgoing. |
Teaching Experience: 02/06 - Present Fundraised for, conceived and managed a cultural centre for underprivileged children aimed at Information Technology education as well as cultural diversity and based on the principles of non-violence, peace and tolerance. The cultural centre, still successful and active to this day, was also aimed at creating a place for children to express their creativity through learned computer skills. 08/06-05/08 Privately tutored a student from St. John's School (Guam) at a Beginner High School level over two years. The boy had no previous knowledge of French and took the IB Ab-Initio course in order to fulfill the diploma's requirement. Chris, the student, succeeded in his exams and tells me he intends to study french further. 08/06-05/08 Privately tutored a student from Notre Dame Academy (Guam) at an intermediate High School level over two years. Sidney had lived in Italy for the past two years of her life. She was willing to continue her studies of the Italian Language and improve both her oral and writing proficiency. She succeeded in doing both and achieving relatively high standards of learning. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach whilst tutoring is very practical and outgoing. I like to keep a communication notebook in which the student is asked to write a weekly contribution in the specific language taught. This not only enables the student to get a "feel" of the language (which, in my opinion, is enhanced by handwriting), but it also allows both the tutor and the student to witness the concrete improvements and weak points of a person's proficiency. however practical, I believe that languages need to be studies intensely, passionately and constantly. I thus am reasonably demanding in terms of homework and I am capable of making adjustments in times where the student might be overloaded or overstressed by normal school work. In subjects other than languages I am usually as demanding but not as structured. Subjects such as History and Economics leave room for discussion and development of various individual of global theories. Dates are only indicators, the events that happen can be interpreted in multiple ways, and i tend to keep that as a resource whilst tutoring. |

| Personal Description: I am a native Russian speaker and a qualified linguist, currently working as a freelance translator and interpreter. I love translating but I enjoy teaching even more - it's so rewarding to see your pupil acquire a new skill and discover a new culture. I have recently moved to Somerset from Scotland, where I lived and gave private lessons since 2004. |
Teaching Experience: I have taught Russian to public school pupils, home-schooled children, university students and adults. I am familiar with GCSE Russian requirements and Ab Initio Russian exams at Cambridge University. My experience includes teaching groups in a school environment but, although group lessons have their benefits, I believe that private tuition gives the best results and is more time- and cost-effective. I enjoy teaching students of all levels - from complete beginners to advanced. |
Tutoring Approach: I encourage maximum interaction between a tutor and a student, and after a brief assessment of your current level, we will work together to develop the best plan to improve your comprehension and communication skills. To make lessons more fun, I use a wide range of resources including video clips from Russian films. I also carefully choose and adapt texts from Russian media to make them relevant to your interests. |

| Personal Description: I am an Australian Teacher with 5 years experience back home and 6 months with the UK curriculum. I am currently working at Tyne and Wear Museums and would like to continue tutoring as I find teaching and tutoring highly rewarding. I am trained to teach at secondary and college level, but have enjoyed working with primary students in the past, too. |
Teaching Experience: 2003 - Georges River Environmental Education Cenre, Sydney AUSTRALIA 2004-2005 - St Johns College, Dubbo, NSW AUSTRALIA 2007 - St Vincents College, Sydney AUSTRALIA 2008 - King Harold School, Waltham Abbey UK 2001 - 2007 - Various tutoring posts in Sydney and Dubbo AUSTRALIA |
Tutoring Approach: I like to consult with the student and parents about what their learning goals/needs are. What can we try to achieve through the tutoring sessions. Then we plan out a timetable of what to cover. These can be 4 - 10 week plans which are evaluated at the end. I make sure the student's learning style is catered for and encourage them every step of the way. I maintain a particular focus on skills. For example in History we would look at source analysis skills, ways to interpret any source, so that students can apply this in any situation. |

| Personal Description: I am 26 years old and have lived in the UK my whole life. I experienced the full UK education system, including Sats, GCSEs and As and A2 Levels, giving me 1st hand experience of what students at all levels are going through. I attended university in Newcastle upon Tyne where I completes and Bachelors degree in Mathematics, providing me with extremely strong knowledge of mathematics. I currently live in North West London. |
Teaching Experience: I completed a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics at King's College London (one of the most highly regarded teacher training institutes in the UK). This has given me the experience and training in the most modern teaching techniques. I currently work at a Comprehensive secondary school in West London where I teach pupils of all abilities and across the age range of the school (11-18). I also have experience in other schools in London, including an academically selective school, with most pupils achieving the highest academic levels. This year pupils who I taught all either met, or in most cases exceded their target grades at GCSE. I am also familiar with the new GCSE specification (pupils sitting GCSE in 2012). |
Tutoring Approach: I Tailor all teaching to the individual tutees, taking into account their currently abilities, material being taught in school, and any pending examinations. The most important thing to me is to ensure that all tutees have a thorough understanding of mathematics, preparing them for exams and any future courses. I provide all materials, and as I currently teach pupils across all levels, have access to the latest exercises, exam papers and techniques. I keep all communication channels open, including with the tutee parents and, if necessary, class teacher, to ensure that tutees have the best experience and get the most out of my tutoring. |
