Personal Description:
I enjoy teaching and consider myself both easy going and approachable, whilst being firm and demanding enough to get the best out of any potential student. I graduated with a 2:1 in Biochemistry (with a year in industry) from the University York. Following from my undergraduate degree I obtained an MRes with distinction in Molecular Plant Biology and Biotechnology at Imperial College London. This was followed by a further MRes with distinction in Urban Sustainability and Resilience at University College London. I am currently undertaking an Engineering doctorate at University College London, where my research area focuses on the production of algal biomass. The work falls within the fields of Biochemical and Environmental Engineering, and I have recently obtained research grants to pursue my work.

Teaching Experience:

At university I would often take part in student led tutorials and workshops, allowing me to hone my teaching and listening skills. I currently demonstrate in undergraduate laboratory classes and lead seminar discussions within my department. This university teaching experience is coupled with considerable prior activity in tutoring both friends, family and students of all ages in scientific subject areas, with high levels of success. I am currently tutoring key stage 3, and GCSE biology, chemistry and physics.

Tutoring Approach:

I have an informal teaching style and seek to understand the particular educational requirements of each individual tutee. To this end I will endeavor to promote educational development through note taking, written exercises, case studies, question and discussion periods, as well as with independent study. When the time comes for formal examinations the learning focus will shift to past paper practice and improving general examination technique. I have a firm belief in always being approachable for any type of question, great or small and l like to foster an inquisitive relationship with my tutee.

Personal Description:
As a school student, I was a confirmed hater of Science! I am still haunted by the drafty labs and memories of sitting in silence on wobbly stools taking notes from ancient text books and carrying out odd practicals with the ubiquitous Potato tuber. It wasn't until I started studying Science as an adult learner in an FE college, where I was taught by inspiring and enthusiastic lecturers, who illustrated important concepts with analogies, diagrams and genuinely interesting practicals, that I began to realise that science was relevant to me and was "my thing".

This experience has stayed with me and has given me a passion for making science exciting and largely the reason that I chose a career in personal tutoring.

I am a professional full-time private tutor. I have recently graduated with an MSc in Science (Medicinal Chemistry and science education studies). I have also graduated with a First class honours degree in Life Sciences (Open) and I have completed a Post-graduate Certificate in Professional Studies in Education, specialising in Science Education.

Teaching Experience:

I specialised in A level and GCSE tuition and I have extensive experience working with a wide range of students, from those who are struggling and need help understanding the key concepts to those who do well in science but need support to develop the exam technique that will get them the top grades.

I have tutored students working towards exams with all the major exam boards, including AQA (AS, A2 Biology and Chemistry, GCSE core science, GCSE Additional Science, GCSE Biology and Chemistry), OCR (AS, A2 Biology and Chemistry, Salter's Chemistry, 21st Century Science GCSE), WJEC (A level Biology), EDEXCEL (AS and A2 Biology and Chemistry, GCSE, IGCSE)

I also have much experience working with students entering for exams as external candidates and I can provide assistance in making arrangements for this.

In my professional life prior to tuition, I was employed as a company trainer in the catering industry, working with newly employed staff on an individual basis to help them develop the skills and knowledge relevant to their new positions and training existing staff to take on more senior roles. This gave me extensive experience of one-to-one tuition and creating individual training strategies.

Tutoring Approach:

When I begin tutoring a new student, I spend some time getting to know the individual and we begin by discussing their current feelings about Science and what they would like to get out of the tutorial sessions. I also carry out an assessment of the individual's learning style (sounds scary, but it's not, it's just a short quiz). By discovering how the individual learns best, I can structure the tutorials so that they are composed of activities that will be both effective and enjoyable. In all cases, I endeavor to make Science enjoyable and relevant to the individual student as possible and tailor the explanations to their particular interests.

As well as providing subject-specific tuition, I place particular emphasis on the development of study and exam skills. Where relevant, this includes teaching essay writing skills, how to revise, how to approach exams and specific scientific skills, such as data analysis and evaluation, which are often assessed in course work. I also offer tutorial sessions which focus just on study skills, for those who are comfortable with their subject knowledge but need extra support in these areas.

As well as traditional face to face sessions, I also offer fully online lessons using skype and an interactive whiteboard which allows me to interact with students in the same way as in a face-to-face lesson. If you are interested in online tuition but are not sure how it would work please contact me to discuss.

Personal Description:
I gained a 1st class degree in Modern History at Oxford University in 2009, specialising in the history of conflicts such as the Northern Irish troubles and Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I have also completed an MA in International Relations at Yale University, where I came top in the year for academic achievement. During my studies at Yale, I taught undergraduates classes in social science and discovered a passion for teaching.

In addition to my academic and teaching experience, I have considerable professional experience in international affairs. I have worked in The Hague for a non-governmental organisation working to build empathy in communities divided by conflict. I have two years of experience project managing international development projects, especially education projects in conflict-affected areas. I have two years of experience as a management consultant working on projects for UK central government departments. I have also carried out part-time research for universities and think tanks.

Teaching Experience:

I have significant teaching experience working with both children and adults at different stages of their academic development.

In 2013, I was a Teaching Fellow at Yale University, delivering social science lessons to classes of over 20 undergraduate students each week. I prepared my classes, coordinated the logistics of the classes with the professor, graded the students' problem sets and provided one-to-one tuition to students.

I have provided private tuition to students for A Level and GSCE in a range of subjects including English, History and Political Science.

I also have provided Oxbridge preparation for students applying to Oxbridge for History and Classics. This included providing preparation materials, interview advice and interview practice.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly and diligent tutor who creates tailored lesson plans based on the needs of the individual student. I am patient with students and committed to helping them understand the material and realise their potential in examinations.

Personal Description:
I spent two years studying physics at Oxford University then transferred to Lancaster University where I achieved first class results in my first year.

I am aspiring to attend graduate school for mathematics or a mathematically related field.

Having excelled at mathematics in school, achieving several perfect scores in my A-Levels and achieving a Top Gold Award in the British Physics Olympiad, I am confident in my knowledge up to A-Level mathematics and physics and am well equipped to help struggling students.

For students looking to apply to Oxbridge/Imperial/UCL/Warwick (etc.), I am happy to help with STEP/PAT preparation.

Teaching Experience:

I was a mentor for several students during my A-Levels and would also take part in PAT revision classes for Oxford Physics applicants. This involved explaining solutions so that others may learn from them (and also having solutions explained to me).

One of my mentees obtained an A grade in their physics A-level, improving from a C grade, allowing them to pursue a degree in medicine.

Tutoring Approach:

My focus starts with making sure the student has a strong understanding of the underlying theory and how it was discovered/derived. Then we may move onto a variety of problems to solve, gradually moving upwards in complexity and making sure to sample all problem types to ensure we have covered all potential exam questions.

Once the student has covered a topic, we will revisit it and summarise it 2-3 times in the coming months to ensure long term understanding and memorisation. This is in addition to having moved on to the next topic.

I am also well read around maths and physics and have some experience with the current career climate and internship opportunities.

Report: Jon has been tutoring my son this year for his physics A-level.
I can honestly say that he is the best tutor I have encountered.
He is dedicated to his work, has always arrived when expected and is thoroughly prepared both for the individual lesson but also with a scheme of work for the months ahead to ensure that the syllabus is covered.
His communication is excellent and he keeps in regular contact providing information each week on the lesson ahead but also feedback after each lesson.
My son found Jon interesting, knowledgeable and able to explain even the most difficult concepts he even requested an extra lesson prior to the exam as he found the sessions so helpful.
I can recommend him without hesitation.

Thank you jon for your kind words. Lewis has grown in confidence in the past year with your help and he as always said that he enjoys and understands your way of teaching. I would not hesitate to recommend you as a physics tutor to anyone I know. We also are going to miss you and William (Pet dog) off course even though you sometimes disturbed him from watching his favourite programs. Take care to you and your family and your little doggy. I will keep in touch and let you know how Lewis got on. Thanks again

Hi Jon
Thank you very much. It's always lovely when people say nice things about your children!
I have to say that both myself and Matthew have been incredibly impressed by you and your enthusiasm, preparation and encouragement. The fact that Matthew arranged the extra lesson this week is testament to this!
I know he can be a bit uncommunicative at times but he has told me how helpful the sessions have been.
I don't know if he told you but he has decided to have a gap year and personally I think he probably needs it to really work out what he wants to do. I think this has taken the pressure off him and I can honestly say he has been happier and worked harder since he made this decision.
If anything it has made him more focused about getting the best grades he can.
Thank you once again for all your efforts, we shall keep you informed!

Teaching Experience:

Currently tutoring A Level AQA Physics

Over 20 students tutored in the past 2 years

2 years working as a Private tutor for A level Physics students (1977-79)

1 year teaching Physics to A level students at a Ladies Grammar school in Manchester (1979)

2 years teaching A level Physics at the Trafford Park College of Further Education - Stretford, Manchester (1977-79)

4 years at Sheffield Hallam University (2000 - 2004) working with Graduates and Post Graduate Students in Entrepreneurship and Business Enterprise

Tutoring Approach:

Dr Jon BSc (2:1) Hons. Pure and Applied Physics; PhD: Low Temperature Physics; MBA: Finance and International Business

2017-2018 academic year: My program will provide the basis of all student with ability in "the Sciences and Mathematics" subjects (A's at GCSE level) to provide the opportunity to obtain the top grade in AS/A2 physics

The 'timetable' and order by which each part of the syllabus will be approached will follow the AQA examination board's timetable. For students joining after the commencement of the academic year, those parts of the syllabus already covered will be 'returned to' during the 'revision period' after Easter

My tutoring sessions are always: 2 hours. They can be taken either:

1. Once per week: full coverage of the syllabus (AS/A2: including Options) plus significant time, each week, devoted to answering questions based on past papers

2. Once per two weeks: full coverage of the syllabus (AS/A2: including Options) plus time, each week, devoted to answering questions based on past papers

In addition to having the 'physics abilities', students will need to understand how to approach examinations and examination questions. There are different variations, each year, but with detailed subject knowledge and significant practice on exam style and past paper questions there should be no type of exam question that should cause any concerns to any student

To ensure a top grade (A/A*) the student will need to commit to additional study, over and above these two hour sessions:

Subject notes will be provided each week, in advance of the lesson, covering the topic to be covered during the lesson - the student will be expected to have already gained an "overview" of the subject area prior to the lesson commencing and take additional notes during the lesson

Each week, following the lesson, each student should complete sufficient exam style and past paper questions to ensure that they have obtained a comprehensive understanding of the subject area and detailed knowledge of 'typical' exam questions

Additional background reading will also be provided that will reach beyond the syllabus giving a deeper understanding of the "concepts" and "background" of the area of physics being studied - this will ensure clarity on the "physics concepts" that are examined in the final year papers each year

Following each lesson (excluding revision and examination question and answering sessions) the diagrams and other material used during each lesson will be provided, so that the student can compare the information with the notes provided and taken during each lesson - building up a complete 'library' of detailed knowledge on each subject area in the syllabus

It is expected that the student will spend (at least) two hours each week, in addition, to the two hour lesson and all school/college work

NOTE: The work program detailed above should not be at the exclusion of the students 'other subjects' - however much time is allocated to physics each week should be replicated with the student's other subjects

Essential planning:

To be prepared for the end year (A2/AS) examinations it will be important to start preparing early

By Christmas time (2017) each student should have produced an 'outline' revision timetable, covering all subjects - without going into detail here, the plan should include all 'known activities' (school/college/personal holidays, mock exam dates, field trips etc.) and periods allocated to revision of each of your subjects, so that a balanced and comprehensive plan for all subjects will attained

Note - 'downtime' should also be included - students should have a practical and balanced approach to secure the best results possible. Peaking too early or 'brain overload' are recipes for underperformance in examinations

I will assist, as required, throughout the period up to when the end year exams commence - this revision timetable will change over the period until the exams start, with the final months becoming more detailed - it will assist in allocating your 'known' resources

Tutoring style:

My lessons are highly interactive

In addition to the printed notes, the student will be expected to add additional notes of their own during each session

My students are fully engaged in all of the lessons and are expected to interact within the lesson

Worked examples and opportunities for students to complete typical exam questions will be part of every lesson

The lessons are delivered from my widescreen laptop making use of theory, pictures/diagrams, interactive GIFs, short videos to help introduce topics and emphasis on specific core material

On approaching (mock and final year) examinations periods:

1. I provide one session on "examination technique" (following AQA best practice) and adopt a rigorous question answering method to ensure that:

(a) Maximise the marks obtained for all mathematical and comprehensive style questions and

(b) In the event that any of my students fall into a "grade boundary" this question answering methodology will ensure the examiner will recognise the 'knowledge of physics' of my students and should ensure an upward grade where required and

2. Take the students through past examination papers to ensure that each 'style' of AQA question solving is well practiced

Flexibility will always be part of the process - if there are specific areas or concepts the student wishes to spend more time on, this time will be allocated

Testimonials for my Accounting tuition:

A recent testimonial for my Financial Accounting and Cost Accounting tuition:

"Nitisha is a great teacher, who made me interested in the subject I found boring. She is very friendly and patient. Nitisha does her best to make me understand topic I find hard. I need to mention that I had and do have many online tutors and only she has such a serious approach to preparation before our session, so everything goes smoothly and quickly!! Thank you Nitisha!! (Marina, student from Russia, A-level Accounting)

Few more testimonials for Accounting:

I am so pleased to have found Nitisha who has helped my son enormously with his accountancy modules at University. She takes a lot of time and trouble to prepare for his tuition sessions and explains things simply and carefully so that he has a much better understanding of this difficult subject. She is also kind, flexible and patient and I would highly recommend her…

"Nitisha was able to target my key difficulties and helped me understand them as well as master them in a very little period of time. She has a great sens of teaching and a large amount of knowledge. I would definitely recommend her as I managed to pass my exam with only a few hours of tutoring. I hope to work with her any time soon!" (Antoine, Degree student for Cost Accounting)

"Nitisha is a friendly and patient teacher who was able to teach me a wide range of material in the subject of accounting in very little time. In just a week Nitisha was able to understand and combat my weaknesses in the subject. When I was failing badly Nitisha was able to turn things around quickly and help me pass a difficult exam in my 1st year at uni. Thank you Nitisha!" (Caroline, Degree student for Financial Accounting)

"We used Nitisha for a series of intensive revision tutorials for my daughter`s first accountancy exams. Nitisha was extremely professional. She was patient in understanding individual learning style to bring about confidence and well prepared for each session. I would recommend her." (Fiona, mother of one of my ICAEW students)

Few testimonials for Maths:

"Nitisha has been tutoring my son with weekly lessons for his SATS for approximately 2 months now. She is thorough, explains well and listens to his feedback about his understanding. Over the weeks she has carefully gone through all the things that he was unsure of. He feels much more confident now about his maths and I have seen a significant improvement in the results of his recent SATS tests. I would highly recommend her." (Catherine, son in year 6)

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is:

1. 100% success rate - I believe in 100% success rate for my students, for that I show enough confidence in them and motivate them to achieve great results or great understanding of the subject. My students are performing 85-90% within a few sessions only. All of my students, preparing for exams with me, have passed their exams.

2. 1:1 sessions for individual attention.

3. Interactive sessions.

4. Provide practice resources.

5. Friendly and approachable - I think, for the students to perform better, its very important that they feel an instant connection with the teacher. I am able to establish and maintain that emotional connect with my students which also motivates them to do better. I think, my commitment to my work is very much visible to my students, and so they have great faith in me. I know how to increase the students' confidence in their subjects, and make sure that they are getting great results and understanding of the subject.

6. Help with homework/tests/Accounting assignments

Personal Description:
I have an attachment for academia and all that it entails (research, education, and scholarship). Following four years of undergraduate study, i underwent a year of Masters study at Coventry University where i graduated with a Distinction in International Relations. However, i have not always been a student. I have taught civil education for a year at a secondary (high) school and this was followed by a year as an Assistant lecturer at a college where i lectured on political science.

I have valuable experience as both a learner and a teacher. Thus, this aids my understanding of what a student needs and the pressures associated with the academic environment. Having this understanding, i will be able to employ skills learned as a teacher and lecturer so as to relieve pressure from my students and ensure their needs are met.

So, that's me in a nutshell. I will gladly elaborate on anything further.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught and lectured at various levels of academia. I have a year of experience teaching at a community based secondary school. This was followed by a year lecturing in the capacity of an Assistant Lecturer at a college of education. This is further complimented by years acting as a personal tutor to academic colleagues.

Tutoring Approach:

I adjust my approach to fit the requirements of my tutee. I ascertain what learning style appeals to my student and i adopt that for the lessons. The adoption of this approach is due to my understanding that all students cannot have similar learning styles. Most importantly, i am always eager to learn new methods and procedures in order to improve my technique and approach to ensure my students always have the best experience.

Personal Description:
I'm 17 years old and am a current student of the Sixth Form at St Bartholomew's School. The four subjects I'm currently taking are Maths, German, History and Politics. In my AS levels I received an A in all three subjects I took, including in Maths. I am a big sports fan and am known to often watch football games at Hungerford Town and Reading. I can also be found at most Wales international home matches. I have experience in volunteering as a befriender for the Alzheimer's Society.

Teaching Experience:

I have a Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership, a course which I undertook alongside GCSEs, where I coached children in Years 3-6 to play sports. At school, I was a year long mentor for new Year 7s as a Year 9.

Tutoring Approach:

Patience is key. Children and young teenagers, who may find maths difficult, can easily become frustrated. It's up to a tutor to let the child overcome their frustration by enabling them to solve complex problems and to make maths interesting. It's often challenging for children to use up their spare time for extra tutoring, so tutoring must be enjoyable and enlightening in equal measure.

Personal Description:
Welcome! My name is Katya and I'm from the U.K. I am a qualified and experienced English teacher. I am available to help you improve your spoken and written English, to support you in exam preparation and to prepare sessions according to your needs.

I am kind, supportive, reliable, and adaptable to each student.

I lived in South America for 5 years and I speak fluent Spanish. I have also lived in Uganda for one year and studied a local Bantu language in Kampala.

Teaching Experience:

I studied for my CELTA qualification in Oxford in 2015 and did lots of classroom teaching as an important part of the course.

I have been giving one-to-one English and Spanish language lessons over the last year.

Last year I taught IELTS and elementary and beginner levels at a private language college in Kampala, Uganda.

I gave one-to-one literacy classes in Spanish in Bolivia.

Tutoring Approach:

I use a student-led approach, with the learner being as actively involved in the lesson as possible.

I prepare lessons with clear goals in mind for grammar, vocabulary and skills practice. These goals are then achieved through various activities, role-play, games and the use of different medium to make the learning real-to-life and natural.

Personal Description:
I am a passionate, patient and friendly psychology Assistant Psychologist looking to support students in their GCSE and A-Level and level psychology. I appreciate that finding the right tutor, motivation and support can be difficult and therefore will offer the first lesson free as a taster! Having been a student myself, I understand how stressful the period can be - the not knowing which exam questions will arise in the exam, having to retain a host of studies and worrying that you will go blank in the exam. Totally normal worries! However, together we can identify key areas you feel you need support in whether that be exam technique, looking at past mock and/or specimen papers, understanding the assessment objectives in relation to specific questions or simply quizzing if you need a "study partner". There are many forms of support that can be tailored to your needs.

Teaching Experience:

Although I am not a qualified teacher, I have completed degree level poster conferences, internal presentations to peers and lecturers, led mindfulness and relaxation sessions for adults experiencing chronic conditions in an outpatient service and currently co-facilitate an anxiety management group with young people that have eating disorders and self-harming behaviours as an Assistant Psychologist. Essentially, I really enjoy working with people and believe that my clinical and research experiences will enable me to better understand your needs and support you during this period.

I am aware that since completing my GCSEs in 2008 and A-Levels in 2010, the exam specs have changed. For this reason, I wish to tutor GCSE/A-Level students on the AQA syllabus only given the time frame. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone for further details.

Tutoring Approach:

Simply put, I adopt a person-centrerd approach when working with individuals. It is all about what you want to achieve and understanding the information in a way that suits your learning style. For example, I am a visual learner - anything that has colour/structure in the form of a spider diagram suits me very well. We all learn differently and hopefully we can gauge which method suits you best so that you can 1. Retain the information, 2. Enjoy the revision time 3. Achieve the best possible marks 4. Learn in a way that accommodates your skills - REAL! It is time to get "real" you can and will do it!

My aim is to enable students to have the confidence to learn the course content and have the self-belief that they can do this! I would prefer to do tutoring in a public library (if possible) but not in my own home.

Hello, I am a newly qualified teacher in Primary education. I have just completed my studies at University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Swansea. I have over 4 years experience working in secondary schools with children with behaviour, emotional and social difficulties, and another 4 years experience working and training in primary schools as a classroom teacher. I also have ample experience of working with adults with complex learning difficulties, including autism, epilepsy and speech impediments, amongst other needs.
I am looking to tutor throughout the summer holidays and potentially continue this into term-time whilst I am seeking full-time employment. I love helping young learners to find their passion for education and I will always adapt my teaching style to suit their individual needs. I am used to differentiating work to allow all children access to the curriculum and I aim to make learning as fun and engaging as possible.
My interests include travelling, arts and crafts, exercise/healthy living, baking, and learning new things! I am also a patient and caring person and I do not shy away from a challenge :)

Teaching Experience:

4 years placement and training experience in various primary schools - from Early Years provision, right the way through to Year 6.
Over 4 years of employment in secondary schools - mainly working with children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
I have a degree in Inclusive Education, and I have just completed my PGCE for Upper Primary as a newly qualified teacher.
I am also fully trained in Read Write Inc and as an ELSA (Emotional Literacy).

Tutoring Approach:

Enthusiastic, passionate and engaging. I am consistent with behaviour and boundaries, but above all fair and considerate of the needs of the child. I will adapt my teaching style to accommodate the learner and ensure that they understand, rather than just recite. I am passionate about preparing children with the skills necessary to help them succeed to be the best that they can be.

I am really passionate about tutoring and mentoring, and would love to share my experience with those who need help.

The subjects that I am most interested in teaching are as follows:
- Chemistry Primary/ GCSE/ A-Level
- Biology Primary/ GCSE/ A-Level
- UKCAT tutoring
- Medical Interview tutoring
- Application to Medicine tutoring (Personal statement, etc)
- English Literature Primary/ GCSE/ A-Level
- I also play Piano (Grade 8), so can teach lower levels.

In particular, my tutoring for application to Medical School tutoring is very strong. I have helped many hopeful medics in applying successfully to University, by working on modifying Personal Statements to particular universities and strengthening interviewing techniques.

Teaching Experience:

I have done plenty of mentoring/ tutoring in the past; this has included the SHINE initiative in disadvantaged schools, Peer Assisted Learning at KCL for my fellow students and tutoring for both A-Level and GCSE. I have volunteered as a Girl Guide Young Leader, as well as teaching English in schools in Tamil Nadu, India and Cape Town, South Africa for 3 consecutive summers. As well as this, I am a Level 2 Sports Coach, and have worked teaching Year 2-5 in Badminton, Athletics, etc. I really enjoy helping students one-on-one, or in small groups if preferred.

I have taught both girls and boys, ranging from age 5-16. I feel my friendly attitude and encouraging words allows me to form a strong bond with each of my students, as I focus on their both accentuating individual skills whilst also gently working on improvements.

Tutoring Approach:

My style of teaching is relaxed and encouraging, yet still with structure and learning objectives. I always give my students something to work on for the next session (i.e. research something, do a small quiz, present a chosen topic) as I feel it motivates and promotes a healthy work attitude.

I work on the basis of a) what my pupil wants to learn b) what I think would help them get the most out of revision for examinations, university interviews, etc. I start by setting out a few goals for us to tackle, and then see how it goes from there.

I am very high for my students (although not putting them under too much pressure) and encourage them to work the hardest they can to achieve their maximum potential!
