Personal Description:
I have recently graduated from a Masters degree in drama at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama having graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in English. Teaching has always been a great passion of mine and one to one tutoring is the most rewarding, in its opportunity for directness and specificity.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring privately for three years and have also tutored drama in schools over the last few years. I have also had teaching experience abroad, teaching English as a foreign language in Indian and African schools.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to make learning fun whilst also ensuring fast and effective progress. I ensure that I get to know my students' ways of learning as soon as possible in order to tailor my tutoring style to their individual needs. I hope to be able to offer a way of learning different but utterly beneficial to the current exam syllabuses which can often seem fairly daunting and rigid on first impression.

Personal Description:
I am a professional, conservatoire trained, theatre director, drama and LAMDA teacher based in London. My greatest strengths are my creativity on stage, ability to manage and communicate with people and to generally be an effective leader of different age groups, from Age 5 to Age 65.

My theatre voyage stydying MFA Theatre Directing at East 15 Acting School provided Jacques Lecoq puppet, clown and physical training and core modules examining Shakespeare, musical theatre, opera, comedy, contemporary British writing and actor training which has informed my practice as a teacher and director.

A huge part of my study was on theatre of the East, where I visited Bali, Indonesia for one term to study at Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI Denpasar). Here I had intensive training on forms such as Topeng Masked Dance, Legong Dance, Wayang Kulit and an introduction to Balinese Hinduism and performance cultures along with the opportunity to collaborate with actors, directors and filmmakers, and world-famous industry professionals.

I believe my administrative experience, my sales and marketing capabilities, together with my teaching and theatre qualifications with a healthy dose of imagination and a playful nature have all added to my effectiveness as an director, accomplished administrator, communicator and good all rounder.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked consistently in London theatres and in schools over the last 7 years and most recently have been working as the Artistic Director of Fusion Theatre Company, a company I founded, developing shows, workshops, education packs and training programs for pupils and teachers linking with National Curriculum Topics in order to utilise drama as a tool for learning. Most recently I have set up a LAMDA training section of the company, offering group sessions, duologue and monologue sessions for primary and secondary school.

Although I do the majority of my work within Theatre in Education and drama training, I also am currently the Associate Director of Maverick Theatre, whos mandate is to create reimaginations of classic literature in unexpected places.

Prior to setting up my own company, I was an assistant director, teaching assistant and technical operator at Trent College, for a number of shows, abridging and cutting scripts, marketing the school's productions, organising the shared diary and assisting with general curriculum work, organising year 9 classes and office administration. During that time I also worked as a LAMDA teacher with 14 students of my own, all of whom successfully achieved Grades 2 and 3 at the end of the summer term. During my second year I was given the opportunity to direct my own productions, as well as a substantial pay increase. I directed a sixth form production of "Two" by Jim Cartwright, followed by The Sixth Form Review [a comedy sketch show], a production of "Shakers" by John Godber, and a production of "Equus" by Peter Shaffer, and finally an outdoor theatre production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a year 7 group. Two years of hands-on experience in education taught me the fundamental rules of theatre, production, discipline and how to motivate others to give their best performance.

Theatre plays a vital role in education to nurture and create opportunities for young people, using the arts as a vehicle to understand the world they live in and the people they are as well as develop crucial life skills. I believe that the most effective way to learn is through theatre and performance and because of this I have an incredible love for youth theatre and working with children and find it extremely rewarding.

Since my study, I have been doing workshops and acting courses with students from University upwards. Whether it be a specific genre of theatre or audition pieces.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is completely guided by the person I am working with. My natural instincts as a teacher are to get the student to relate to the material as well as they can by giving them something to compare it with in their own life. As a student of LAMDA since age five and from my extensive experience as a tutor throughout my career I discovered that by adopting a personal approach to teaching and mentoring, identifying the individual strengths of each student, and harnessing and working with those strengths, I was able to yield some incredible results not just within primary and secondary school but utilising this practice for all ages.

During my career, I have held several senior management positions within several British based companies.

The vast majority of students with whom I have worked have either achieved, or surpassed, their target grades.
During the last academic year (2015/2016)) I was pleased to work regularly (typically weekly) with thirteen 'A' Level Maths students (from Bude, Holsworthy, Launceston, Exeter and Barnstaple), one student studying Electrical Engineering at Cardiff University, and one studying Maths with the Open University.

Tutoring Approach:

Being an active participant in, and supporter of, the whole education process, I have also held a four year LEA Governorship at a school in mid-Devon.
My approach to tutoring is, first of all, to talk openly with any potential student (ideally with parent or guardian present) in order to find out what is required, the problems, issues etc.
I treat all students as adults, and do not patronise or talk down to them, ie I treat each one as a mature individual. My aim is to work closely with each student, in the way that best suits him/her, in order to empower him/her with higher levels of knowledge and ability. The result being that their confidence and skill levels increase to those necessary to achieve the best possible exam grades. I encourage my students to actively participate in the tutoring process; to challenge, and to ask questions and discuss all aspects of the work content.
I coach all my students in exam techniques, with emphasis on layout, showing working, best use of time etc.
Last, but certainly not least, I believe it to be of fundamental importance to work with all my students in complete confidence; before, during and after any tutoring involvement.

Personal Description:
I am a mature lady (50yo) with a 1st Class Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree (B.Sc) from Birmingham University and a Postgraduate Management qualification from Cambridge University.

My own 'A' Levels were Biology, Maths and Physics with a particular focus on electronics. At University I studied Maths at degree level.

I am also trained in other areas such as photo-reading (speed reading), hypnotherapy and craniosacral therapy. I have worked with young people utilising various modalities to help them gain confidence and choose careers/subjects that bring out the best in them. I studied for a time in a Rudolph Steiner environment so I appreciate the value of alternative approaches to educating young people. I was also a member of the Academy Appeals panel for some time in Hereford (for the Steiner Academy there).

From 2009 to 2012 I worked in an Admin capacity for OFSTED travelling around Schools and Colleges up and down the SW of England. My particular area of responsibility was the safeguarding and protection of children.

In 2011 I attended an Introduction to Autism training with the HANDLE organisation as I increasingly meet young people struggling on the Autism spectrum so this topic is of particular interest to me. I would be able to help refer any child who needed more specialised care. Related to this I have also been studying Human Design which is an invaluable tool for understanding how unique we all are.

I am friendly, empathic and good with younger people. I endeavour to help bring out the best in them on all levels.

Teaching Experience:

I have successfully tutored Maths and Physics to High School students whilst living abroad in Canada and back here in the UK where I have been based more lately.

Tutoring Approach:

I work outside of my home in non-pet and non-smoker environments only at this time.

- Monitoring attendance of learners and set appropriate targets.
- Invigilating examinations and mark work.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that Tutoring is first about personal connection. Any learning can only be achieved given a certain level of trust, which must be established in order to create a solid platform from which further learning can then flourish. Younger students are most open to absorbing information and should have the chance to take academic information and guidance from a range of people. This enhances the educational experiences and broadens the horizons of a student.

Having myself struggled with poor teachers, or unwieldy subject matter, I know that, with the right teachers, such areas can come alive. More clinical approaches to tutoring further separate students from the learning process. Having experienced one-to-one tuition myself, I have seen the many positives and potential pitfalls the system can bring. These experiences galvanize me and help me in my own tutoring. I relish taking what I have learnt, and the exciting methods by which I have learnt it, and passing that on to other students.

Regardless of the level taught, it is impossible to make real progress unless the student first has engagement and interest in the subject. I see my task as tutor as a process of invigorating the material for those studying.

Personal Description:
I am a senior manager working within the public sector based in central London. My academic qualifications in this field are supported by extensive professional experience working within local and central government. I provide that sought after combination of in depth academic political knowledge with 'on the ground' relevant and extensive practical experience. Many of my clients comment on this being a significant factor in why I was chosen above other tutors.

I am not a State Registered Teacher. I like to ensure that this is clear. However the vast majority of politics teachers are not qualified in politics and have little in depth understanding of the nuances of British or US political systems. Many of my students ask me why I don't teach. The simple answer is that I can pick the subject I want to teach and throw 100% of my time into one student at a time.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive tutoring experience of A level Government and Politics and a proven track record. I am currently tutoring students for Edexcel and AQA A Level Government and Politics and essay writing. I can provide verifiable references from recent/current students.

The last round of exams (August 2016) all my students achieved a minimum two grade increase to their original grades (some going from E to B) and can provide details and personal references for any potential client to check. All of my students this year achieved a B or above.

A significant amount of my client base is built up through recommendations from previous clients. I also have extensive experience of teaching adults in an adult education environment and have an NVQ in Delivering Learning.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide tutoring on a 121 basis but am totally flexible depending on the tutees needs. I tutor to the subject syllabus, with the added value of my experience, expertise and contextual detail on current political and social events being included. I build confidence above all else.

It is always difficult inviting a new tutor into your house, but you will find I am relaxed, friendly, totally adaptable and totally reliable. My clients comment they can set their watch by my punctuality! I am available most evenings and all weekends but with sufficient notice I can also tutor during the day.

Included in the fee is full email and telephone support - no extra charges !! In addition the first consultation is free of charge for you to meet me and ensure that I am suitable for your needs. I will travel most places but if it is a substantial distance will add travel costs.

Many of my clients will support the fact that they actually realised they began to enjoy the subject following being tutored by me.

I obtained my law degree from Queen Mary University of London. Then I studied the Legal Practice Course as well as the MA (LPC with Business). Finally, I have completed my Bar Professional Training Course and I have been called to the Bar in July 2016 . I have been working at a law firm since then.

I am from Cyprus, thus I speak, write and read fluent Greek as well. Despite my country of origin, I have been living in UK for six years and I can confidently say that I am fluent in English. I have obtained 8 out of 9 in IELTS.

Despite my academic background, I always participate in various volunteering projects. I have worked in Ireland at Barretstown camp where I had to supervise children from all over the world. I have been a student adviser at the Legal Advice Clinic since 2014. I have been the student director in the call screening part of the Legal Advice Clinic since October 2015.

I am a really hard-working and organised person and this can be justified by the fact that while I was studying the BPTC and being a student adviser and student director, I have been working part time in a law firm.

I've considerable experience of teaching in colleges, summer schools, within companies and in one-to-one sessions, with students of all ages and abilities. In addition to this, I spent over a decade delivery training to corporate professionals. I now specialise in maths intervention at primary level.

Teaching Experience:

I've worked with students of all ages from 5 to 75 and across a variety of subjects and levels. What I've enjoyed most is seeing the progress all my students have made, but particularly those with learning challenges - whether it's to do with subject knowledge, concentration or behaviour. I've found that infinite patience is often the answer!

Tutoring Approach:

Absolutely key to tutoring is flexibility and adaptability. Everybody is different and learns in different ways. Each session starts out with specific topics and goals in mind, but these can - and often do - change as the session progresses and other priorities come to light. My challenge is to find a way to achieve those goals that will suit the student, taking into account what they already know, and how they best absorb and retain new information.

And finally, although I'm not there to become the student's friend, it's nevertheless essential that I build a rapport with them quickly to foster a supportive yet friendly learning environment. This helps ensures the sessions are as productive as possible.

To further improve my English before applying for a permanent teaching position, I have chosen to spend time in the UK with a family acting as an au-pair.
