Personal Description:
I am a professional, conservatoire trained, theatre director, drama and LAMDA teacher based in London. My greatest strengths are my creativity on stage, ability to manage and communicate with people and to generally be an effective leader of different age groups, from Age 5 to Age 65.

My theatre voyage stydying MFA Theatre Directing at East 15 Acting School provided Jacques Lecoq puppet, clown and physical training and core modules examining Shakespeare, musical theatre, opera, comedy, contemporary British writing and actor training which has informed my practice as a teacher and director.

A huge part of my study was on theatre of the East, where I visited Bali, Indonesia for one term to study at Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI Denpasar). Here I had intensive training on forms such as Topeng Masked Dance, Legong Dance, Wayang Kulit and an introduction to Balinese Hinduism and performance cultures along with the opportunity to collaborate with actors, directors and filmmakers, and world-famous industry professionals.

I believe my administrative experience, my sales and marketing capabilities, together with my teaching and theatre qualifications with a healthy dose of imagination and a playful nature have all added to my effectiveness as an director, accomplished administrator, communicator and good all rounder.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked consistently in London theatres and in schools over the last 7 years and most recently have been working as the Artistic Director of Fusion Theatre Company, a company I founded, developing shows, workshops, education packs and training programs for pupils and teachers linking with National Curriculum Topics in order to utilise drama as a tool for learning. Most recently I have set up a LAMDA training section of the company, offering group sessions, duologue and monologue sessions for primary and secondary school.

Although I do the majority of my work within Theatre in Education and drama training, I also am currently the Associate Director of Maverick Theatre, whos mandate is to create reimaginations of classic literature in unexpected places.

Prior to setting up my own company, I was an assistant director, teaching assistant and technical operator at Trent College, for a number of shows, abridging and cutting scripts, marketing the school's productions, organising the shared diary and assisting with general curriculum work, organising year 9 classes and office administration. During that time I also worked as a LAMDA teacher with 14 students of my own, all of whom successfully achieved Grades 2 and 3 at the end of the summer term. During my second year I was given the opportunity to direct my own productions, as well as a substantial pay increase. I directed a sixth form production of "Two" by Jim Cartwright, followed by The Sixth Form Review [a comedy sketch show], a production of "Shakers" by John Godber, and a production of "Equus" by Peter Shaffer, and finally an outdoor theatre production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a year 7 group. Two years of hands-on experience in education taught me the fundamental rules of theatre, production, discipline and how to motivate others to give their best performance.

Theatre plays a vital role in education to nurture and create opportunities for young people, using the arts as a vehicle to understand the world they live in and the people they are as well as develop crucial life skills. I believe that the most effective way to learn is through theatre and performance and because of this I have an incredible love for youth theatre and working with children and find it extremely rewarding.

Since my study, I have been doing workshops and acting courses with students from University upwards. Whether it be a specific genre of theatre or audition pieces.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is completely guided by the person I am working with. My natural instincts as a teacher are to get the student to relate to the material as well as they can by giving them something to compare it with in their own life. As a student of LAMDA since age five and from my extensive experience as a tutor throughout my career I discovered that by adopting a personal approach to teaching and mentoring, identifying the individual strengths of each student, and harnessing and working with those strengths, I was able to yield some incredible results not just within primary and secondary school but utilising this practice for all ages.

Teaching Experience:

Tutoring Approach:

My first step is always to assess exactly where my student is at so that I can plan the content for sessions accordingly and make sure that they get the best out of each lesson. If there are any gaps in the foundations of their knowledge we can then attack these head on. My approach is thus very organised and tailored to the specific needs of the student, with small goals set per session alongside a long term goal to work towards. I always ensure that my lessons are engaging, and work towards building a good relationship with my students, encouraging them to ask questions without any hesitation. I adapt my approach depending on my students' learning style as I feel this is the key to successful teaching.

At GCSE and A Level, my aim is always to make sure that students are completely familiar with the subject specification and assessment objectives as this dictates exactly where they can pick up most marks. Completing as many past papers as possible is also a step in the right direction, alongside completing assignments set by myself. I always give very detailed feedback so that my students know exactly where they can improve, and how to apply it to their work going forward.

My approach for students studying Psychology at degree level depends on what is required. Most students require guidance with essays, reports, dissertations and write ups; I usually go through the assignment with the student giving valuable, detailed feedback on what can be improved and exactly how they can go about doing so. This can involve several redrafts until the work has been completed to the students' full potential.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an Italian national who has been living in Bristol since September 2012 and having had a long time experience as an Italian teacher for students who have participated in the AFS Intercultural Program, it has not been difficult to insert myself here as a private Italian teacher.
I have a deep understanding of the GCSE program since I am tutoring three English secondary school students who are having difficulties with the Italian language. They lack interest and enthusiasm thus each lesson becomes more difficult but a challenge for me. I am looking for lessons that give them the enthusiasm they are missing and I must say that I am succeeding; sometime I see that the textbook is very dry and for this reason, my personal teaching materials often replaces the book.
My method is based a lot on grammar induction, stimulating conversations with the student, based on body movements for understand the action of the various stages of the exploration of the basic construction of the verb tense. A few years ago I enrolled in a workshop offered at the university about the use and choice of scene Italian films for understand better the Italian style-life and that has been quite useful to my teaching of Italian culture.
In Italy I have had own bookshop where I held my Italian lesson, therefore I know very well many documentaries and lectures mostly (or particularly) on Ancient Rome. Furthermore, I have been a guide in the city of Rome and I'm perfectly capable of organizing a cultural trips.
I look forward to being given an opportunity to work with your school: it is the type of environment I thrive in and to transmit my passion and love for my country and for my mother tongue is my main goal. Personal Description:
I am a Classics graduate and former Latin teacher, originally from Cheshire but now volunteering and living in North London. I have been working as a private tutor since 2012 and have helped many students of different ages and abilities to exceed their target grades.

I received a first-class honours degree in Classics from the University of Liverpool and also won the 'Dawson Turner Prize' (2015) for best performance in part II examinations; the 'J.P. Postgate Prize' (2014) for best performance in part I examinations and the 'Thomas Hornby Scholarship' (2013 & 2014) for best performance in Greek. My research interests include Latin and Greek bucolic poetry and I have presented an academic paper (November 2014) on this topic. I am also a member of the Virgil Society.

Teaching Experience:

September 2015 - July 2016: After graduating from university, I taught Classics full-time at a leading (11-18) boys' school in the north of England and was responsible for all teaching of Latin (up to A-Level) and Greek (up to GCSE). All of my A-Level Latin students received A*-A grades and obtained places at Oxford/Cambridge and all of the GCSE Greek students received A*/A.

September 2014 - December 2014: Taught an introductory Latin course for adults
September 2014 - June 2015: Privately taught the GCSE Classical Civilisation course to a student (who received an A*)
September 2012 - January 2013: Taught an introductory Latin course to a local primary school
September 2011 - June 2015: Ran an extra-curricular GCSE Greek course at a local school alongside university studies


Alongside this I also have extensive experience of tutoring pupils privately and have tutored a wide-range of abilities and ages ranging from under 11s to those studying for A-Levels (in English and Latin) and I have managed to help many of those taking exams to obtain A/A* grades. I also have experience teaching the casual learner who does not want to take examinations.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach is unique to each individual and involves building up a relationship with the tutee so I can provide the most effective tuition depending on their learning style.

However, in general terms, my approach is a practical one and I encourage students to view the literature (whether Greek, Latin or English) in an analytical way and endeavour to teach the method rather than just the answer. Where possible, I will choose material that will interest the tutee so that, as far as possible, they will enjoy the process of reading and analysing the piece of text.

I am 28 years old and have just finished my fifth year of teaching. The first four of those years were in a successful Birmingham grammar school and have just completed my first year at one of Bath's top school. My own education was received at a mixed comprehensive school in Wiltshire, after which I attended the University of Birmingham where I studied mathematics. I have recently moved back to the area after eight years in Birmingham, living with my wife and 4 year old labrador. Amongst other interests, I am always looking to stretch myself and keep my interest in mathematics and education alive by reading literature (particularly by Marcus du Sautoy) and attending seminars by the Association of Teachers of Mathematics (ATM) and other such organisations linked with various universities.

Teaching Experience:

The majority of my teaching so far was at a school within the King Edward VI consortium in Birmingham, teaching boys in KS3 and KS4, the majority of whom have target grades of A/A*. Around 35% of my timetable has been teaching KS5, both years 12 and 13. I have taught C1-4, S1 and M1. I also have experience teaching a range of abilities, from SEN to A/A* students at two co-educational, OFSTED rated outstanding schools in Birmingham. I also have experience of tutoring trainee teachers preparing for their QTS tests and also those preparing for the King Edward's entrance exam. I have lead the development of ICT/Web based learning for my department and have mentored trainee teachers and NQTs. During my four years in Birmingham I was appointed Head of House and Head of Year 7. The house I took charge of had lost both the sporting and academic competitions every year for 10 years. After two years in charge, my house were the winners of the academic competion (consisting of 15 events) which I believe is testament to my ability for to motivate student. During my first year in Bath I have aided in the running of a successful department and have added experience of teaching further mathematics to year 13 students. The modules I taught were FP1 and S2 and I am due to teach M2 next year.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a firm believer that anyone, of any age and ability, can learn mathematics and learn it well. The key is finding a medium that relates to the student. I am willing to try a range of different teaching methods to ensure that all of my students understand the concepts and ideas that they are being taught. What I will always do is give a relavance and a meaning to whatever I am teaching. That way, I believe the learning is more engaging, more enjoyable and therefore will be of a higher quality. These beliefs, coupled with a laid back and likeable nature mean I create a positive relationship with all of my students, a relationship that is vital for good teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I am a professional tutor (over 20 years experience) of Maths and Chemistry/ Science from Primary School(Key Stages 1 and 2) to Secondary School (Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level) and also the Eleven Plus examinations, offering a personal and focused approach to helping pupils achieve their exam potential.

I am familiar with tutoring face-to-face (6 years) and online (+3 years). I have been part of a research which involves language teaching and technology, and I am right now studying a Masters' Degree in Online Education and Virtual Course Design. I use a wide range of visual tools to make lessons more appealing (virtual whiteboard, Google Drive, etc.) and have a personal platform to connect all my students.

- How do I speak?
I have a language certificate for working in the media, so my diction and elocution skills are very good. In case you wondered, I have a clear standard accent from Spain (and an Occidental accent in Catalan).

- How am I going to make you improve your language skills?
Let me be honest: I am a language learner myself, so I know the key is practice, practice... and practice! But I have good news for you: I'm here to help you with it in the most fun possible way, without forgetting about the cultural aspect of the language. Of course we'll see grammar (it is necessary), but always in a very practical context and according to your needs.

- How about session types?
This is absolutely up to you! From exam preparation, grammar, writing and conversation to the most advanced rules of ortotypography (I am a proofreader). This is the good part of teaching one-to-one, that I can tailor my lessons to your needs and learning style. You set your goal, I design a specific lesson plan!

In my university research (2014) I have proved that it is possible to do so via Skype, and this is actually the field I specialise in. In this course, I will diagnose your speech, prepare individualised exercises tailored to your needs and create a path for you to follow in order to achieve your phonetic goals.

If you're curious about this type of training, I can provide the reference of one of my students, who trained very hard and in around 2 months was able to roll her [r], or another student, who could improve her prosody and expressivity in only two sessions. Teaching Experience:

My Teaching Experience dates back to my days as an A'Level student preparing for the GCE Cambridge A'Levels Exam in 2005. I made sure I carried all my colleagues along by conducting regular free tutorials.

When I got into the University, I continued. Every other evenings and every weekend, I would take part in tutorial sessions for my colleagues and sometimes for junior colleagues. This I did from 2006 to 2011.

In 2012, I registered as an Online-Tutor and have engaged a number of students in America and UK on mathematics and engineering related subjects. Not to mention that I have been involved in peer revision meetings all through my post graduate days at the University of Manchester where I took charge of conducting Mock Examinations.

To me, this has been fun.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is very very simple:

Step 1: Ask you what area you have problems with.
Step 2: Tell you to go on and teach me the aspects you know and even the aspects you do not know.
Step 3: I will take note of your strengths and weaknesses.
Step 4: Leave the rest to me, the tutorials would be worth the time and pay.

PS: Many times, from experience, students think they have problems with a topic, but all they have is just "no confidence about what they know". That is where we come in, to restore your confidence in the things you know and add to it. Hence, my best approach is to keep the interaction "both-ways".
