I am an experienced photographer in many different areas. Above all I am a wildlife photographer, but I also have a professional studio based in Haverhill, and am also experienced in wedding photography.

I have always had a passion for wildlife and the amazing diversity of animals that live both in the UK and abroad, with a love of photography and wildlife I've been privileged to travel to some of the most breath taking places in the world and seen some of the most amazing animals to grace our planet. My work has been seen in many countries and has featured in many of the leading wildlife and photography magazines such as BBC Wildlife and Practical Photographer just to name a couple.

Teaching Experience:

5 years teaching beginners, intermediates and experienced photographers. During this time I have run many workshops and one to ones at various locations, including Birds of Prey centers, Zoo's and various wildlife areas around the UK, and all over Europe.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to break the confusing terminology down in to simple ways to remember, whilst making my lessons enjoyable so that clients learn subjects without realising it. My approach to teaching photography is relaxed and fun.

Tutoring Approach:

Depending on the individual needs of each student, I will prepare a range of tasks to build confidence in specific areas of weakness. From past experience, a lack of confidence is one of the biggest barriers to learning, so in all cases I seek to reassure a student of existing strengths and abilities before and during our tuition. More generally, we will develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills through different activities to strengthen and accelerate ongoing language learning. Where appropriate/desired, I will bring in relevant texts and materials to develop broader reading building up analytical and critical skills. Grammar work will always feature, though in well-balanced chunks which aim to be accessible AND enjoyable!

Most importantly, I hope to inspire students of any level to relish and enjoy their studies, and to yearn for a more solid grasp of their subject and a higher proficiency in each area of language learning.

Personal Description:
At undergraduate level I studied Classics at Oxford University, which involved rigorous language learning and a close engagement with set texts. I was awarded an academic scholarship for my examination results. Then I completed a Master's Degree in Latin literature at UCL, focusing particularly on the influence of Latin literature on contemporary theatre. I was awarded The Dean's List prize for academic excellence. It is Latin poetry that particularly holds my attention because, even after two thousand years, there is still so much new to be said about it.

Teaching Experience:

Private tutor for six years, with significant experience in private tuition of Latin, Greek and English at all levels.

Taught Latin at a prep school. This required lesson planning, homework marking and well-tailored teaching because of the small class sizes. Although we referred to the 'Minimus' textbook frequently as a well-planned learning scheme there was no strict curriculum, which meant that we could use the lessons to explore some of the more enjoyable aspects of studying Classics.

Teaching assistant for primary school Latin classes. The class size was small, which allowed me to get to know the students individually and help each of them according to their level.

Excellent, up-to-date knowledge of the current syllabuses for Common Entrance, GCSE and A-level and have worked extensively from the Oxford and Cambridge Latin Courses, from Athenaze, Greek to GCSE, the ISEB Common Entrance publications and from other frequently used textbooks.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important thing is to find out the areas with which the student will need the most help. In the first session, I'll discuss with the student which areas we should focus on, then I will plan my lessons carefully to address those areas of difficulty.

I like to build routine into tuition sessions, particularly when learning vocabulary, so that the student knows what to expect in each session.

Teaching Experience:

My first experience of teaching was through home-educating my daughter from when she was 6 through to GSCE-level. I then went on to do a PGCE in Lifelong Learning (post-16 education) during which time I taught a range of business and tourism modules. Since completing my PGCE I have completed short-term contracts teaching English as a Foreign Language. Presently, I work part-time as an enabler for physically and/ or mentally disabled students in higher education and part-time as a private tutor.I have experience tutoring adult learners, home-educated students (i.e. delivery of full syllabus) and students who are at school but need additional subject help, for example with exam preparation.

Tutoring Approach:

I understand how important it is to have a supportive and patient teacher who is willing to answer any question any number of times until the student 'gets it' and that's what I am always prepared to do. Tutoring Approach:

I take a holistic approach to the teaching of history, ensuring that the student becomes engaged within a fuller understanding of the period being studied. As a former student and teach of history, I realise that the principal block to a tutee's understanding of historical concepts is a lack of immersion within the relevant time-frames and thus an inability to fully comprehend why certain actions were taken, and the wider effect this had.

Teaching Experience:

During the past five years I have taught a range of age groups from young school pupils to adults in both one to one lessons and group settings. I have also had a great deal of experience teaching beginners, most recently the Bellingham Middle School Ceilidh Band. During my later years of school I assisted with a young children's string orchestra and also an intermediate traditional music group. As part of my degree I have studied different techniques of teaching traditional music within the community.

Tutoring Approach:

The initial lesson provides an opportunity for both myself and the pupil to discuss any past musical experiences and also understand what they wish to gain from future lessons. I plan my lessons around the interests of the pupil which in return allows them to get the most out of their lessons. Whilst I strongly believe that there are benefits to reading notation, I also teach by ear and am happy to focus on this if a pupil so wishes. I encourage my pupils to bring along any music they wish to learn in addition to their set pieces.

I have a BA Honours Degree in English Studies from Aleppo University in Syria in 2000. I embarked on two Postgraduate Diplomas at Aleppo University one in Linguistics (2002); the other in Education and Qualification in 2003. In both of these Diplomas I was awarded a Distinction. In 2002, I was fortunate in gaining a scholarship to study in the UK and was nominated to study in the department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex. I found this course to be immensely useful to me as a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) professional as I was able to observe a range of different EAP (English for Academic Purposes)classrooms; make academic presentations and really developed my love of scholarship which fired me with the enthusiasm to read for a PhD degree. I finished my doctorate in TESOL at the University of Ulster entitled "EAP Teachers Approaches to Giving Written Feedback on Academic Writing in British and Syrian ELT Centres". . I am extremely interested in teaching the language skills (as my recent doctorate shows). I am extremely hard working and sociable. I have good comparative knowledge of Western and Islamic societies which I could share with students where pertinent. I also have two qualifications from Ulster University in Peer Mentoring and Counselling.

In the Diploma of Education and Qualification, I have been trained how to teach and how to deliver lectures in Arabic and English and also how to prepare lesson plan. I have experience of teaching university students in Syria as I was a lecturer at Aleppo University from 2002 to 2013. Tutoring Approach:

It is the application of an integrating approach for the development of communicative skills in the lesson, in which the four skills in the acquisition of knowledge of a foreign language can be taught in a coherent way, and practiced together, with a distinction of the importance of one upon the other. One image for teaching English as a second or foreign language (ESL/EFL) is that of a tapestry. The tapestry is woven from many strands, such as the characteristics of the teacher, the learner, the setting, and the relevant languages (i.e., English and the native languages of the learners and the teacher). For the instructional loom to produce a large, strong, beautiful, colorful tapestry, all of these strands must be interwoven in positive ways. For example, the instructor's teaching style must address the learning style of the learner, the learner must be motivated, and the setting must provide resources and values that strongly support the teaching of the language. However, if the strands are not woven together effectively, the instructional loom is likely to produce something small, weak, ragged, and pale--not recognizable as a tapestry at all.

I do not only consider teaching as a Job, but also as a hobby as it is fun making people understand what they had thought was confusing.

Teaching Experience:

My Teaching Experience dates back to my days as an A'Level student preparing for the GCE Cambridge A'Levels Exam in 2005. I made sure I carried all my colleagues along by conducting regular free tutorials.

When I got into the University, I continued. Every other evenings and every weekend, I would take part in tutorial sessions for my colleagues and sometimes for junior colleagues. This I did from 2006 to 2011.

In 2012, I registered as an Online-Tutor and have engaged a number of students in America and UK on mathematics and engineering related subjects. Not to mention that I have been involved in peer revision meetings all through my post graduate days at the University of Manchester where I took charge of conducting Mock Examinations.

To me, this has been fun.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is very very simple:

Step 1: Ask you what area you have problems with.
Step 2: Tell you to go on and teach me the aspects you know and even the aspects you do not know.
Step 3: I will take note of your strengths and weaknesses.
Step 4: Leave the rest to me, the tutorials would be worth the time and pay.

PS: Many times, from experience, students think they have problems with a topic, but all they have is just "no confidence about what they know". That is where we come in, to restore your confidence in the things you know and add to it. Hence, my best approach is to keep the interaction "both-ways".

Personal Description:
I am currently a fifth year medical student at Imperial College London on the Graduate Entry programme. I have previously studied Biomedical Science at the University of Sheffield, achieving a 2.1.

During my time as a student, my learning approach has changed drastically which has subsequently improved my grades throughout my time at university. Last year my examination results were in the top 10% of the cohort and I have received multiple prizes during my time at medical school - one for the overall best performance in an examination, and another for the third best performance. I would love to share this new learning approach with a tutee and hopefully improve their education experience.

I feel that my experience in education has equipped me with the skills needed to tutor, as well as my friendly and approachable manner. Due to my familiarity with applying to medical school, I am also able to offer assistance to prospective medical students in preparing for the UKCAT entrance exam, personal statement writing and interviews.

Teaching Experience:

For the past year I have been tutoring two students - one in degree level Biomedical Science and the other in Physiology. This mainly involved assisting students in revision for upcoming examinations, as well as guiding these students through assignments they found particularly difficult and medical school applications.

During my time at the University of Sheffield, I was a mentor for first year students joining the Biomedical Science course - this involved helping students academically as well as any other issues they had over the course of the year.

I also have experience working with children from the age of 4 and upwards, both as a play leader and in sports coaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel that the tutoring approach should be adapted for each student based on their needs and preferred learning style. This allows the student to make the most out of each session and progress in their studies.

In general, it is important to start with the basics and ensure that these are understood well. This would allow any issues to be identified early, which may be preventing the student from reaching their full potential. Once the basics are established, we can begin to work through the more challenging material.

I regularly submit students for ABRSM exams and to date I maintain an exceedingly good pass rate for all my pupils who decide to undertake Grade examinations in both their instruments and Music Theory. I strongly encourage my pupils to undertake study of Music Theory as part of their lessons alongside their Practical Study, as experience has shown many students attain Grade V ABRSM with no substantial previous knowledge of this area.
As Grade V Theory is a requirement of the ABRSM before a student can be entered for a Grade VI examination on their instrument I feel that teaching the Theory alongside their instrumental studies assists in minimising the delay before a student can proceed to the higher examinations if they so wish. Further to this I believe it also allows them a better understanding of the music they are striving to perform. While I encourage my students to take the Grade examinations as a mark of their progress I am also happy to work with students who do not wish to undertake the pressures of certification but just wish to learn to play or improve their playing ability for their own enjoyment.

I am a professional, conservatoire trained, theatre director, drama and LAMDA teacher based in London. My greatest strengths are my creativity on stage, ability to manage and communicate with people and to generally be an effective leader of different age groups, from Age 5 to Age 65.

My theatre voyage stydying MFA Theatre Directing at East 15 Acting School provided Jacques Lecoq puppet, clown and physical training and core modules examining Shakespeare, musical theatre, opera, comedy, contemporary British writing and actor training which has informed my practice as a teacher and director.

A huge part of my study was on theatre of the East, where I visited Bali, Indonesia for one term to study at Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI Denpasar). Here I had intensive training on forms such as Topeng Masked Dance, Legong Dance, Wayang Kulit and an introduction to Balinese Hinduism and performance cultures along with the opportunity to collaborate with actors, directors and filmmakers, and world-famous industry professionals.

I believe my administrative experience, my sales and marketing capabilities, together with my teaching and theatre qualifications with a healthy dose of imagination and a playful nature have all added to my effectiveness as an director, accomplished administrator, communicator and good all rounder.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked consistently in London theatres and in schools over the last 7 years and most recently have been working as the Artistic Director of Fusion Theatre Company, a company I founded, developing shows, workshops, education packs and training programs for pupils and teachers linking with National Curriculum Topics in order to utilise drama as a tool for learning. Most recently I have set up a LAMDA training section of the company, offering group sessions, duologue and monologue sessions for primary and secondary school.

Although I do the majority of my work within Theatre in Education and drama training, I also am currently the Associate Director of Maverick Theatre, whos mandate is to create reimaginations of classic literature in unexpected places.

Prior to setting up my own company, I was an assistant director, teaching assistant and technical operator at Trent College, for a number of shows, abridging and cutting scripts, marketing the school's productions, organising the shared diary and assisting with general curriculum work, organising year 9 classes and office administration. During that time I also worked as a LAMDA teacher with 14 students of my own, all of whom successfully achieved Grades 2 and 3 at the end of the summer term. During my second year I was given the opportunity to direct my own productions, as well as a substantial pay increase. I directed a sixth form production of "Two" by Jim Cartwright, followed by The Sixth Form Review [a comedy sketch show], a production of "Shakers" by John Godber, and a production of "Equus" by Peter Shaffer, and finally an outdoor theatre production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a year 7 group. Two years of hands-on experience in education taught me the fundamental rules of theatre, production, discipline and how to motivate others to give their best performance.

Theatre plays a vital role in education to nurture and create opportunities for young people, using the arts as a vehicle to understand the world they live in and the people they are as well as develop crucial life skills. I believe that the most effective way to learn is through theatre and performance and because of this I have an incredible love for youth theatre and working with children and find it extremely rewarding.

Since my study, I have been doing workshops and acting courses with students from University upwards. Whether it be a specific genre of theatre or audition pieces.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is completely guided by the person I am working with. My natural instincts as a teacher are to get the student to relate to the material as well as they can by giving them something to compare it with in their own life. As a student of LAMDA since age five and from my extensive experience as a tutor throughout my career I discovered that by adopting a personal approach to teaching and mentoring, identifying the individual strengths of each student, and harnessing and working with those strengths, I was able to yield some incredible results not just within primary and secondary school but utilising this practice for all ages.

My second job is as a Kickboxing and Self Defence Instructor at the University of Sunderland, where I have worked for over 7 years.

My peers and tutors have told me that my mannerisms and personality lend itself well to instructing and teaching. I am patient, understanding and explain subjects in an accessible way.
