Personal Description:
Ben is a technically and artistically accomplished in portraiture photography and been quoted by professors at a university as a master in the studio. He love's to make the photos encapsulate you and who you want to be. Ben strives to capture the details and emotions that would go together to make your time with me an enjoyable experience.
Ben is a social person and loves to get to know the people he works for, so he can really reflect their character and what they want, so to produce the highest quality work for and give them exactly what they are after. Ben aims to spend time chatting with you in advance so that your time with me is so much more productive.
Ben grew up in West Africa where his parents worked amongst the poor coordinating small-scale development projects. This had a massive impact on his life and photographic practice affecting how he relates to the world around him. In his photographic work, he has taken a special interest in reflecting stories and voices through his images. For example, he travelled in Uganda and Thailand and used photography to be the 'voice' of the people he photographed.
Although Ben's formative years were spent in Africa he was educated in Guildford, Surrey at George Abbot School that specialised in the expressive arts. During these years, his creative flare became more apparent when he took A-levels in Fine Art, Sculpture, and Photography. He progressed onto doing a Foundation Degree in Action Photography at Truro College where he specialised in Sport, the Natural world and Social Documentary and began to prepare for a more commercial direction. Ben still maintained his roots in expressive art during the foundation degree but also developed his technical skills thoroughly. Ben had the opportunity to be the photographer for 24/7 magazines in July 2008 at the Newquay Ripcurl Surfing Festival.
In 2009, he progressed on to Plymouth University to study for his BA Hons in Photography where he achieved a 2.1 studying under Stephen Vaughan and Dr. Simon Standing. During this course, he spent time looking intricately into the how we view our bodies and others around us. He concluded the year specializing in fine art nudes and portraiture, with a project called 'The Paradox of Perfect Beauty'. This study challenges the ideologies of beauty in history, sculpture, and figurative representation and critically analyzes the standardized figures and body shape used in art as well as in modern day commercial advertising, fashion and other types of portraiture. In the final exhibition, Ben aimed to present a personal discovery of body image and consequent self-affirmation. Ben was fortunate to be able to exhibit some of his work at the D & A D-New Blood Exhibition in London in June 2010.
Many photographers say they are good but even the perfect image that ben has he can still see my own flaws in you get the highest quality with me and won't be disappointed. In this digital age, many people can snap you but ben can give you an artistic flair, which is also of superior quality. He is sure that you will want to share the photographs he produces. Don't hesitate to contact me to discover more.

I also work in a apple shop in Guildford so can teach about apple products and how to use them both in conjunction with software like photoshop or one there own.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring photography from many years to all different ages and abilities from young kid's to University and Mature Learners, I started my teaching with teaching english in Thailand and working as a assistant youth worker and having to teach different subject and activities. I have furthered my experience with children running children Holiday camps over the school Holidays.

Tutoring Approach:

i have a relaxed approach to teaching trying to have an objective view to someone work but giving prods and direction where needed i lile for my students to discover the answer themselves and the satisfaction you see from them when this happens is the best part of the job every achievement is given praise and every downfall is looked at as not a failure but a part of the learning curve.

Дoбрoгo здoрoв'я! Здрaвствуйте!
I was born in a mixed family (my farther is Russian and mother is Ukrainian),so actually I am bilingual (Ukrainian and Russian are equally native languages for me). I am graduated philologist (BA).Always eager to develop and learn something new in my profession and personal life.Have essential tutor experience (have being taught Ukrainian, English, Russian for more than 8 years). I'm passionate about Art and Music and in my spare time enjoy painting and playing the piano. Also really like travelling and over the last few years I've been in the United States and almost all EU countries. I fluently speak English, Ukrainian and Russian languages, can almost easily understand Polish speech and communicate at a certain level.

Teaching Experience:

Business Leader June 2010 - Sept. 2012
School of foreign languages, Kyiv
English teacher
• Organising group and private lessons
• Managing timetable
• Making personal developing plans

Tutoring Approach:

I teach people according to their level, needs and individual preferences. The main thing at studying any language is, of course, speaking practice. So my question is what can be better and more effective than studying language and speaking practice with a native speaker? Think a little about it and call me then! ;)

Personal Description:
A first year Oxford Double Degree History student and double academic and music scholar. I was taught music at the Royal College of Music for over a decade. I am hard working, diligent and will always put my students first.

Teaching Experience:

Experience mainly tutoring younger children, but have done small ad-hoc pro bono tutoring sessions for older children. I specialise in both English and History tutoring, and I can tutor any book or any period for you child. Maths I will be willing to tutor up to GCSE at the most, given the board, and my music and sociology tutoring information can be provided at further request.

Tutoring Approach:

I specialise at being able to tutor online: I feel this means students can maintain studying in an environment they feel comfortable in. Another benefit is that I can document all tutoring sessions - part of me services mean that I will copy up transcripts of all the sessions for both you and your child - this means you do not need to worry about sessions being missed. To ensure you get the most out of my time, I offer my services in blocks of 5 or 10: this means that I can thoroughly cover subjects. For example, if you require emergency tutoring with a book, 5 sessions would enable me to efficiently cram topics, whilst 10 would enable me to go through this more thoroughly with you or your child. How I tailor your blocks of 5 or 10 can be discussed between both you, me, and your child. For documentation purposes, I believe typing during the online sessions can be maximally beneficial: both the child can see what i'm writing, whilst you as the parents can see exactly what is being discussed. However, if you would like me to use voice calling as well as video calling, this is no problem either.

Personal Description:
I hold an Artist Diploma for a concert pianist from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and BMus Hons from the Royal Academy of Music.

Teaching Experience:

I have a broad experience as a solo pianist and an instrumental and vocal accompanist-I have worked with different types of instrumentalists and chamber groups. So far I have worked with people of all ages and professional levels but have never found the collaboration difficult because I love trying new exciting things and meeting new colourful people who I can make beautiful music with. I have been teaching piano for the past 10 years. I have a vast experience in working with children and youngsters,as well as adults.I offer one-to-one tuition and work in small groups. So, if you are looking for someone to help you to prepare and perform for your Grade exam,(ABRSM,LCM,GCSE or A-Level music ) ,an important audition, competition or a concert project,or just want to learn to create music-don't hesitate to contact me!

Tutoring Approach:

I am happy to either prepare students for music examinations with a recognised board( ABRSM,LCM,GCSE or A-Level music),auditions of all aspects, competitions and concert projects or work within a less regimented structure-people who want to play for fun and learn to create music. The approach towards each student is absolutely unique according to the particular needs of the individual but if necessary, the lesson might concentrate on sight-reading, elements of theory, technique and developing aural skills,as well as on technical and creative sides of certain music pieces. However, the ambiance is always inspiring and friendly because my main aim is to encourage the student to do their best!

Personal Description:
I am a native Arabic speaker from Jordan. I have a PhD in Arabic Language and Literature and three years of experience in teaching Arabic as an additional language. I teach Modern Standard Arabic, old Classical Arabic ( Quranic Arabic) and spoken Arabic ( Levantine and Gulf).

Teaching Experience:

Three years of experience in teaching Arabic as an additional language

Tutoring Approach:

As a teacher of Arabic language, I believed once in the 'myth' which says Arabic is a difficult language to learn. However, after more than two years of experience in teaching, I am confident that Arabic is easier than many languages including English. This belief has rooted through experience in teaching Arabic to students from beginners to advanced levels. Arabic is a very mathematical language. It depends on logic in all its aspects. It has rigid writing and pronunciation systems.

Teaching Experience:

I've been trusted to mentor younger students in school who are struggling in particular subjects, and have been recommended to other teachers and students too. I hope to gain experience through tutoring in this manner so I can help more students gain better grades.

I have tutored GCSE triple science and maths for a short period in the past and really enjoyed teaching and finding methods that work for the student.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a relaxed approach to teaching and hope to inspire tutees to take interest in what they're learning through my own enthusiasm. I understand what they're going through, having been through it recently, and hope to give them the time and one-on-one attention they need.

I have 10 step siblings, ranging from 34 to 5 years old, and therefore am very comfortable in dealing with both young children, teenagers and adults. I also love music and play saxophone, piano and drums.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught English to a French student in Spain for the past two years and been very pleased by his progress. I have been a football coach for 11 year old girls where I taught them various techniques and showed leadership.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an open-minded person who believes in people's capabilities. I teach with a smile and promote discipline, as I believe it is essential for progress. I am confident in handling children and teenagers, and have so far only received positive feedback!

Personal Description:
I believe that I posses valuable qualities such as creativity, enthusiasm, discipline and overall approachability that will enable me to become an effective tutor.

I am approachable and enjoy working one to one with pupils. Pupils find my open manner engaging; particularly when they are finding English difficult.

I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world and engage with people of varying ages and cultures. This has fuelled my passion to work with people.

Teaching Experience:

Since returning home from New Zealand I immediately signed up with Select Education and I was working in Secondary, Primary and SEN schools in South Yorkshire.Working part time allowed me to spend time tutoring students, I took students requiring additional help for Standards and Highers and helped them through their exams, with great success. I also took younger students requiring additional support.

I completed my PGDE in 2011 and I have been teaching ever since. I enjoy every aspect of my job and I teach all levels from BGE, N3, N4, N5 and Higher. I also mark for SQA at National 5 and Higher for both folio and exams too.

Tutoring Approach:

Throughout my teaching experience I have often worked in one and one situations, and have proven I can work well to encourage students and progress with their learning.

I pride myself in my work and offer friendly, relaxed and professional tuition on a one to one basis or in small groups. I am able to travel to learner's home in most circumstances, but certain locations may incur a small travel fee. I pride myself in my work and employ innovative and effective teaching methods in an effort to make learning a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience. I have a caring and friendly approach and always put my pupil's needs first, at all times.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for over 7 years now, both in local colleges and in pupil's private residences. I have experience of teaching pupils of all ages as well as pupils with SEN including dyslexia and dyspraxia. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of my work and I believe this is clearly exhibited in my tutoring sessions. I have extensive experience of teaching 11-19 year olds as well as teaching the older generation. I currently teach Computer Aided Design and Engineering Mathematics at Wakefield College as well as private maths and science tuition up to and including A level standard.

Tutoring Approach:

During my tutoring sessions, I make every effort to ensure the learning experience is both an enjoyable and interesting one. I use a variety of learning resources and tutoring methods to introduce a varied and innovative approach to the session. I always engage with the pupil and listen carefully to every one of their responses. I take the pupil through a carefully formulated learning program which is compiled from a detailed assessment of their tuition requirements; this is always discussed with the parent/guardian before the program commences, to ensure that they are happy with the arrangements. I am a very friendly and relaxed individual and I like to convey these feelings during my tutoring sessions and always try to make the pupil feel comfortable with the whole learning process and ensure I work at their pace at all times.

Personal Description:
I have just returned from a year as a Graduate music tutor at Wanganui Collegiate School, New Zealand. Before this, I graduated from the University of Oxford in June 2010, having studied Music at Oriel College under the tutorship of Dr. David Maw. I was educated as a music scholar at Eton College, Windsor before moving to the Perse School, Cambridge for sixth form study. Aside of a huge passion and enthusiasm for music study and tuition, I am an avid sportsman having represented both my university and county youth level in cricket. I also played a number of sports for my college during my time at Oriel. Currently, I am studying for a Masters in Musicology at Durham University with a specialism in the orchestral music of Gerald Finzi. In addition, I am also the Senior Organ Scholar at St. John's College. I have recently accepted a teaching post at Brighton College to begin in September 2012.

Teaching Experience:

Having just returned from a year as a graduate music tutor at Wanganui Collegiate School in New Zealand, I feel that I am in touch with both school teaching and more specifically, more private music tuition. During my year experience in New Zealand, I engaged very actively in the life of the music department. I have experience of basic music tuition with teaching of introductory concepts in the subject such as basic notation, theory, instrumentation and historical issues.
Further up the age spectrum, I have taught specific a level modules in a seminar type situation. With a completed Undergraduate Music degree from the University of Oxford, I have an extensive knowledge of theory, analysis, music history and specific tutoring skills in the study of the clarinet, piano and bassoon. I have taught music theory, clarinet and piano privately for 4 years.
This said, I am very happy to tutor at all levels, aiming to pass on my keen enthusiasm in the subject onto other keen and ambitious musicians whether they be starting out in the subject, or looking for extra assistance at A level and/or degree level. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style is designed to generate as much active involvement by the student as possible. Tutoring time is balanced according to the needs of the client between examination coaching (handwriting, mnemonic techniques, time/mark allocation discipline, revision styles) and subject content (probing and consolidating background knowledge, instilling enthusiasm, analysing key aspects of each topic).

In addition, I believe in addressing the needs of each child individually and working with them to help them understand how to work through a problem for themselves. Confidence is often the key and I am keen to work with them to improve the confidence in their own abilities in a varied and fun atmosphere.

Client Reviews:

'Lisa was honestly the best tutor! She is a highly knowledgeable teacher of Physics and helped my daughter really understand her subject. She was great at explaining everything. She definitely helped my daughter raise her grade GCSE. I would highly recommend Lisa' From Alghamadi, Score 5/5, August 2016 (GCSE Physics)

'Lisa has tutored our daughter for the last two years. When our daughter first began working with Lisa she was working from a below average baseline and had little confidence. What a difference an hour a week with a capable maths tutor makes as our daughter has recently secured a grade B in her GCSE maths -Grade E to Grade B that's some going!! All credit for our daughter's amazing progress goes to Lisa and her patient, friendly, but tenacious teaching style. We are so pleased that we found Lisa, she has been an absolute Godsend! Highly recommended!' From Gail Baker, Score 5/5, August 2016 (GCSE Maths)

'Lisa has supported our daughter with Maths throughout year 11. She made her feel she could ask for help as many times as needed and was always patient and supportive. Our daughter has had several 'eureka' moments with Lisa in which she actually truly understood concepts she has struggled with at school. Lisa definitely motivates her students to believe in themselves and encourages them to reach their full potential. We highly recommend working with Lisa.' From Elly Dolan, Score 5/5, August 2016 (GCSE Maths)

'Absolutely fantastic tutor. Lisa helped me to get 2 A*'s and an A in Maths and science, which allowed me to get into the college I had applied for. I would definitely recommend Lisa to anyone who wants to achieve the best that they can, at any level.' From Jack, Score 5/5, August 2015 (GCSE Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Additional Maths & Further Maths)

'My daughter has just gained A's in both Physics and Chemistry at GCSE. These are not easy subjects and finding Lisa has made a massive difference. She explains difficult areas and makes the subject become alive and understandable. This has given her confidence and fortunately she covered areas that the school had not and that actually came up in the exam! She has a lovely auora about her and can make anyone feel calm and relaxed and ready to learn. She is a great communicator, organised and efficient and worth her weight in gold! many thanks Lisa', From Tracey, Score 5/5, August 2014 (GCSE Physics and Chemistry)

She is highly intelligent and I soon realised my son was in very professional hands which was very comforting as we drove one hour every week sometimes twice a week to get to her. Lisa has a lovely personality and would make anyone feel comfortable the moment you meet her. Her schedule is extremely busy and she is very much in demand. So don't delay if you want to grab a spot in her diary. A very happy family. Worth every penny.' From Yvette, Score 5/5, September 2014 (GCSE Maths, Physics & Chemistry)

Personal Description:
I am a senior epidemiologist and Research Lead within a healthcare organisation and I have studied biology, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, parasitology and epidemiology at both under-graduate and post-graduate level. I also have a Master's in Public Health. I am interested primarily in human disease and work on vaccine-preventable diseases, infection and associated Human Papillomavirus-driven cancers. I have taught and lectured to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year undergraduates and to Master's students. I am fairly strict with regards to attention to detail and I believe that it is important to write accurately and in a concise but salient fashion. I am able to read, write and speak fluent French. I love my 2-year old daughter, mountaineering, ultra-marathons and Kettlebells.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a STEM ambassador for West of Scotland for the last 5 years, teaching biology and basic molecular biology, microbiology and immunology to primary and secondary school children.

Honorary lecturing duties at Glasgow University on molecular biology/microbiology/immunology in context of public health.

Module Leader for Outbreak Management and Epidemiology modules for M.Sc. in Infection Control, University of Highlands & Islands

External examiner for MSc in Infection Control, University of Essex (Kaplan).

Tutoring Approach:

Relaxed - it is crucial to see how the student thinks and take it from there. Everybody is different and in order to understand where the difficulties may lie, one must take the time to appraise how the student is thinking and which areas are causing the most problems. Using a number of examples, it can often be revealing to the student when one thinks of a scenario in a different way. However, it is imperative that the student appreciates that the attainment of knowledge and the ability to reason and apply that knowledge comes from drive, enthusiasm and structured revision. After tutoring, I normally arrange for students to meet with my contacts in the field of biology and public health so that they may gain some extra practical experience and/or some work experience before their next career step. I have also tutored students who are at various points on the autism spectrum.

Personal Description:
I am a recently retired teacher with over 30 years combined experience in further education, independent and maintained secondary schools. I am now based in a beautiful part of Norfolk, where I paint, give private tuition and run an art club.
My own work is based on observations of mans' intervention in the landscape. I work in oils, water colour, digital photography and print.
My interests in art and design are many and varied, and include, in no particular order, sculpture/ceramics (Moore, Gormley, Perry), photography (Cartier-Bresson and LaChapelle), graphic design (Brody, Bauhaus), and painting (Freud, Klimt, Giotto, Picasso).

Teaching Experience:

My first foray into teaching was in further education as a visiting lecturer in graphic design and illustration. Subsequently, I trained as a secondary school teacher and quickly became head of my first department in a boys grammar school. From there I moved into the independent sector, continuing to work successfully as head of department and head of faculty.
I have extensive experience as a senior regional moderator for GCSE examinations in art and design with a leading examinations board, being responsible for supervising the work of a team of visiting moderators in the south east of England, and for resolving disputes with schools. I do voluntary work for the National Trust, giving occasional talks to schools on symbolism in Tudor portraits.

Tutoring Approach:

Having started my career as a graphic designer I had, by necessity, to broaden my experience and skills into other two and three-dimensional media in order to become a successful teacher. My departments had outstanding results at GCSE and A-level, and many of my students went on to study at many of the principal art institutions, including Central St Martins, Chelsea, Glasgow, Edinburgh.
Teaching is about finding the unique personality of the individual and finding ways to encourage its expression. Allied to developing the imaginative and creative abilities is the need to create opportunities to build on existing technical skills and introduce new ones. The combination should be fun.
