DBS checked, I have over 4 years of varied language teaching, and Head of Department, experience and am now involved in further language study and tutoring.

N.B. for all learners: Depending on your language goals, objectives and choices, some lessons may vary in difficulty because of their specific objectives, and therefore fall into different level categories (see below for pricing categories). I base the levels upon the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the international standard for describing language abilities. Overall, lessons will tend to fall within a single level category, but it is also common that the context focus is switched to different, more challenging, levels due to the progress made. If you are unsure which specific level will be applicable to you, or want to check in advance how pricing may vary with particular lessons, please do not hesitate to contact me for further information where I will be happy to advise.

Upon finding out what your languages goals are, I offer a personalised learning programme to suit your style, with lessons adapted to focus on specific areas. I ensure learning is not only active and engaging, but also relevant and progress-focused to help you understand the bigger picture and in-depth components of your language learning, and to stretch your abilities with proven results. As well as listening, reading, writing and grammar, I build in a lot of conversational practice to enable you to move from strength to strength with confidence.

To ensure continuous progress, consistency is essential and I recommend 2 hours of tuition per week, with 2 hours of homework. I find that tutoring over a longer period is a much more successful way to engage learners and keep, rather than exhaust, their attention.

I am a native Russian speaker. I have pursued a full time career as a language tutor for over 15 years, teaching students from 3 to 70. I graduated in Moscow as a teacher of chemistry and biology for secondary schools. I worked for a period of two years in a school in Moscow. I came to the UK and started working for a Russian oil company in London involved in translations. In addition I worked as required as a Russian translator for the Bank of England. In 1998 I co-wrote a book called "Talk Russian" for the BBC which was used in support of a Russian language programme that they were presenting.

Teaching Experience:

I commenced working in the education sector in the UK in 1998.I was engaged as a preparatory school teacher in an independent school, where I continued to work until 2004 and was tutoring in my free time.
I became a full time Russian language tutor in August 2004 for students of all ages, children, teens, adults who need extra support and business professionals.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor each lesson to suit the student's needs. On the first lesson I identify areas for improvement and prepare an adapted teaching schedule to provide the maximum support for learning. My continuing approach depends on the type and needs of the student that I am tutoring. I have a total open mind, when I first meet them. The method of study will vary considerably .I make sure that the students enjoy the lessons and understand each step before progressing to the next one.
For very young students I use lots of games and activities to engage them and stimulate their mind, praising them with their progress.
I also tutor young people for their GCSE, A level, IB examinations, and undergraduates. I focus on improving their confidence and question answering technique in addition to providing them with a deeper understanding of conversational skills, grammar and comprehension of each topic. Closer to their exams, I concentrate on improving question techniques and creating links across the curriculum. I can also offer tuition of intensive exam preparation. My objective is to obtain the best results from each student.
For the business professionals, they generally need to improve their conversational skills, which I feature for them, but also include elements of grammar and spelling, to ensure a total understanding. It is important to help them find the way to learn.
I have access to several resources including Skype, where I utilise as support "Scribblar" and "Blackboard Collaborate" along with many other white board conference and collaboration tools, and use them accordingly.
I am a patient tutor and try to build trust with my students, which lead to fast progress, this being the top priority. It is a pleasure to pass on my knowledge to all of my students, and for me this is one of the most rewarding experiences ever.

I'm a personable, down-to-earth qualified English teacher with an English-specialised master's degree and experience in securing good outcomes. Those outcomes often include students' target grades, but considering the versatility of my subject - in constructing arguments, self-presentation, interview technique, and so on - I also emphasise the broad, contextualised relevance of what I teach. My name is Anton. I have master`s degree in Physics from University of New Hampshire. Besides my background as researcher I have four years of experience as a London based tutor. I primary teach A-level physics and most of my students were taking OCR, AQA, or Edexcel exams. I occasionally teach GCSE and University level subjects, such as Mechanics, Electrodynamics, and Quantum Mechanics. Currently I teach part-time in a private school.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is flexible. Usually I easy detect weak spots in students understanding and this gives me chance to focus on the most relevant topics for a particular student. I carefully prepare myself for each session, and my goal is to make the student involved in the lesson not just leaving him to listen to me. In my opinion the Math involved in A-Level physics is not hard at all, and many students that are good in Math think they can handle physics relatively easy, but this is most of the time not true. I apply extra effort, in my lessons to make sure that student understands the physics concepts not just memorizing facts. My observation is that if the student goal is to achieve an A grade it requires at least two hours of tutoring per week throughout the academic year, of course sometimes one hour is Okay, and some ambitious student ask for more than two hours per week. In any case it will give me great pleasure to help you improve your knowledge and make you feel the beauty of PHYSICS.

I am in my fifth year of teaching. At the present time I am teaching sixth form college. I have successfully completed my PGCE course (Secondary Mathematics) at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2011. Prior to this, I hold a combined degree in Pure Mathematics and Statistics. I have also been on a number of courses covering behaviour management, AFL, pace in teaching/learning and differentiation.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experiences began at Woodlands School and Seven Kings High School, as part of my PGCE training and I had the opportunity to teach across the full ability range of year 7 to 11. I also fully participated in helping pupils in the Statistics and pure Mathematics AS Level classes. I finished my most recently teaching practice at Woodlands School where I taught maths across range and the use of ICT interactive board for maths lessons. My teaching practice was encouraging because I enjoyed interacting with students at various levels. During my teaching practice, I planned my lessons to very good standard and appropriate and challenging learning objectives which include a variety of activities and assessment techniques. I have gained a lot of experience from especially the one to one and that modified my teaching of low ability classes, concentrating on breaking tasks and making lessons interesting enough to lengthen student's concentration.
In my most recently employment as a Maths teacher at Woodlands School, Basildon, I have been mostly entrusted with foundation GCSE classes, KS3 mixed ability sets and numeracy classes.

Tutoring Approach:

Having had the opportunity to teach across board for this while had provided me with a wide knowledge base for my professional conduct as a teacher. I constantly upgrade my teaching methods through evaluations and feedbacks I get from pupils and sometimes through learning walks by SLTs. I am confident I have acquired a lot strategies and methodologies for teaching all topics to all years and sets. I thoroughly prepared each lesson taking into consideration previous knowledge and suitability of the time it's taught. I recorded all homework and some important class exercise which are used to monitor children's progress and to find ways of how to address any inconsistencies. I have often liaised with parents if I needed parental support. For bottom sets, I learned the importance of the use of pictures and visual stimulus to meet pupils' learning needs. I have mastered the art of breaking up lessons into chunks to make it simpler for pupils to follow and finding straight steps pupils can easily grasp with complex topics. This has been one of my enviable achievements as it has always interested my maths colleagues. Concerning year sevens and lower forms, I learnt a lot about the importance of giving rewards in the form of stamps, commendations and stickers as motivation. Every learning has been thoroughly planned using Maths Framework Standards with levels and differentiation. For bottom sets working in partnership with support staff for SEN and EAL pupils has been very enjoyable and rewarding.
The opportunity to be a year 10 and during my last term a year 7 form tutor as well as the homework club tutor at Woodlands School had also given me a strong knowledge base on the pastoral care of students and participations in extracurricular duties.
Commitment
I am committed to developing my professional skills in all aspects of the art of teaching. I look upon my students not merely as students in the strict sense of the word, but also as an extension of myself. I want them to succeed, because when they do I also succeed.

Teaching Experience:

I am teacher who has taken early retirement. I have 15 years experience of teaching at infant level and further education level.
I taught reception classes for two years followed by year one for two years in Leicester.
I have also taught students with learning difficulties independant living skills for 9 years.
I have been working in schools in and around the Pontypridd untill I left 18 months ago to live in Glasgow.
Whilst in Glasgow I taught one 5 year old boy for a period of about 8 weeks over the smmer holiday. I also taught two 10 year old boys who needed their confidence boosting.
I am now back in Pontypridd and available to tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that tutoring should be fun for both the child and the tutor. I would look to use games as much as possible to enrich the time with your child. Initially I would need to talk to you as the parent to see what problems you and possibly the class teacher believe your child has, and how best they can be helped. I would need to review the situation as time went on to see what I have gathered.

Personal Description:
I am Spanish teacher living in London. I am really friendly, responsible and I will always love to learn as many languages as possible.

Teaching Experience:

I studied a degree on Translation and Interpreting so I have a good English and French. Two years ago, I ended my MA degree on Spanish language and culture which is mainly focused on teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

I have been an English assistant teacher in two Summer Camps for 4 to 6 year old children and also taught Spanish as a foreign language to Erasmus students coming to the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
I have also been personal tutor of many children between 5 and 15 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I really try to focus on a Communicative Method, I make sure grammar is learned but I do not focus on showing grammar as a separate subject which has to be learned by hard. I try to show real texts (news articles, stories, tales, etc) and once you are able to understand the vocabulary, you will notice how is grammar used in different contexts.
There is no sense of teaching a language without a real context, I try to avoid inventing sentences which have no meaning at all.

In case you wish to try different approaches, I have no inconvenience on adapting it to what you really want to do.

Teaching Experience:

The majority of my experience was at International House (IH), Sevilla, Spain. IH is an internationally recognised organisation for the teaching of English as a foreign langauge. During 5 years there, I specialised in preparing students for the Cambridge exams (KET, PET, First and Advanced).

Aside from that, I have worked in 5 different countries and so I am familiar with the difficulties faced by learners from many different language groups. My experience includes all levels, ages, one to one and groups.

In my present job, I am preparing a group for the IELTs exam.

I have also had a great deal of experience focusing on specific areas such as writing, checking CVs, proof-reading and business.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that learning comes from the student and that the role of the teacher is to support the student in this process. So, I always look to provide a context and environment in which a learner can develop. The context must be real and relevant to the students needs.

As a teacher, I have developed an in-depth knowledge of the language and learning resources which I can use to help students achieve their goals. I also believe that the learning experience does not start and finish at the beginning and the end of a class. Part of my role as a teacher is to plan and evaluate how learning objectives can be reached outside of class. For example, students should review and try to apply what they've learnt as much as possible and spend time practicing skills which they need to improve on a regular basis.

I am a native French speaker, aged 21, currently working in a school in Gateshead as a French Language Assistant, so I am already used to teaching my own language. I also aim to become an English teacher after completing my teaching degree in France. I will be in Newcastle until the end of May, when my contract with the school ends. After this I will go back to France to finish my studies.

I am passionate about literature and music, and would be able to teach cultural aspects of France if that is what you are looking for. I have also always loved languages since I was a child, I learnt English and German from the age of 10, I also did some Spanish and Russian at the end of secondary school, and I have been trying to learn Italian for the last few months. I would be glad to pass on this love for languages.
