Personal Description:
I am 27 years old male from India. I did Engineering from Delhi University and then pursued MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. I am a Math enthusiast right from my childhood days and had scored 99% in my secondary exam. I am going to be here in London for quite some time for an assignment from my firm and, in the mean time, would like to carry on with my two passions, i.e., teaching and mathematics.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching mathematics as a part-time job for last 7 years. I have taken classes for individual students as well as for group of students with levels spreading across primary to secondary classes to preparing students for entrance exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Mathematical understanding influences decision making in all areas of life-private, social, and civil. Mathematics education is a key to increasing the post-school and citizenship opportunities of young people, but today, as in the past, many students struggle with mathematics and become disaffected as they continually encounter obstacles to engagement. I believe if I could make students relate the concepts to real-life scenarios and encourage them to apply their minds they will learn the most. So, the three key principles at work here are:
a) Relating to reality - Increasing engagement
b) Learning by doing
c) Encouragement and Motivation

Subjects

Personal Description:
I have several years English teaching and GCSE examining experience following my degree and am currently teaching English/English at GCSE, A level and undergraduate level on a private basis. I have an MA in English which I passed with merit, and have recently embarked on a further Master's degree in Literature and Culture in 19th Century Literature and Culture.

Teaching Experience:

I originally taught A Level and GCSE English in FE colleges. Following this I started private tutoring in English at all ages and levels along with some basic Primary maths. More recently my work as an English Literature examiner has enhanced my understanding of student needs and of course the requirements of the GCSE exam syllabus. As I have been tutoring for some time now I am familiar with the varying requirements of all the major exam boards in GCSE and A level English Language and English Literature.

Tutoring Approach:

The greatest thing is seeing the student gain in confidence as their ability grows. One to one tuition enables the student to be honest about problems that are difficult to raise in the classroom at school or college. Consequently the tutor can focus on the individual needs of the student. This is the philosophy I adopt in tutoring. I am very conscientious, approachable and happy to adapt to the needs of the individual student , then watch them thrive.

Personal Description:
At undergraduate level I studied Classics at Oxford University, which involved rigorous language learning and a close engagement with set texts. I was awarded an academic scholarship for my examination results. Then I completed a Master's Degree in Latin literature at UCL, focusing particularly on the influence of Latin literature on contemporary theatre. I was awarded The Dean's List prize for academic excellence. It is Latin poetry that particularly holds my attention because, even after two thousand years, there is still so much new to be said about it.

Teaching Experience:

Private tutor for six years, with significant experience in private tuition of Latin, Greek and English at all levels.

Taught Latin at a prep school. This required lesson planning, homework marking and well-tailored teaching because of the small class sizes. Although we referred to the 'Minimus' textbook frequently as a well-planned learning scheme there was no strict curriculum, which meant that we could use the lessons to explore some of the more enjoyable aspects of studying Classics.

Teaching assistant for primary school Latin classes. The class size was small, which allowed me to get to know the students individually and help each of them according to their level.

Excellent, up-to-date knowledge of the current syllabuses for Common Entrance, GCSE and A-level and have worked extensively from the Oxford and Cambridge Latin Courses, from Athenaze, Greek to GCSE, the ISEB Common Entrance publications and from other frequently used textbooks.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important thing is to find out the areas with which the student will need the most help. In the first session, I'll discuss with the student which areas we should focus on, then I will plan my lessons carefully to address those areas of difficulty.

I like to build routine into tuition sessions, particularly when learning vocabulary, so that the student knows what to expect in each session.

Personal Description:
I enjoy all aspects of English Literature, the research process and critical analysis. My most recent teaching has concentrated on sixteenth century texts, including Shakespeare's 'King Lear', 'Hamlet', 'Romeo and Juliet' and Webster's 'The White Devil.' I have also recently taught Oscar Wilde's novel 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' and Scott Fitzgerald's 'The Great Gatsby.'

Currently, I work as a note-taker for university undergraduates who have sight or hearing impairment or a specific learning disability. I enjoy this work immensely as I go along to support students in lectures and seminars in a diverse range of subjects including Philosophy, Psychology, Law and Sports Development which I find very interesting and rewarding.

Teaching Experience:

At a Sixth Form College, I have taught GCSE English (AQA Board); English Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2 (OCR Board); a Government unit on Public Services Level 3 (Edexcel) and Public Service Skills Level 2 (Edexcel).
I have also been a Personal Tutor for 16-19 age group at a Sixth Form College.

Tutoring Approach:

I set objectives, plan targets and evaluate progress and achievement. Reflection plays a key part in the teaching and learning experience. I am flexible and can adapt the learning programme to suit the learners' needs. I will also bring a great deal of enthusiasm to make the learning experience interesting and enjoyable.

Last year, tutees achieved excellent results; this was a result of the high standards adopted and expected of the student matched with lots of hard work.

Personal Description:
I got a bachelor's degree in political sciences and a master's degree in international relations at the University of Cagliari (Italy) with 110/110 as a final grade. My studies, together with the international experience of "Erasmus" in Romania, made me discover many sides of the political mechanisms, the cultures and the economies of different countries and areas of the world.
I reckon myself as a very easygoing and motivated person, always ready to cooperate with the workmates. Enthusiastic about the life and the new experiences, always keen to improve myself specially in the relations with the others.

Teaching Experience:

From 2007, in Italy, I started to provide private lessons of different subjects to young students, then in London I have privately helped foreign people in the study of the Italian language. The teaching training course which I followed at International House has given to me, in three months, the chance to learn, improve and practice important techniques in real classes, five lessons for beginners and six for intermediate students: Both execution and planning of a lesson have been tested with good results and personal satisfaction. I can prepare different levels of lessons for groups, business classes or one-to-one, following at the same time the logic and the variety.

Tutoring Approach:

The first goal of a tutor is to help the student as much as he can. Who is learning does not have to feel under pressure or under examination, so it is important to be relaxed and to prepare a logic lesson with exercises that can help the student step by step to build a knowledge of the language. It is essential also to provide adapt material, following the variety of the activities in order to avoid the repetitions which could be boring for the student. The enthusiasm and the motivation of the tutor are absolutely the first steps to provide a good result.

Personal Description:
I am a family man, married 10 years to my wife Mel, with 3 beautiful daughters. I have been tutoring in the South Wales area since 1992 after graduating in Chemical Engineering with 2nd (Hons) Degree from University of Glamorgan. My hobbies include wordwide travel, Triathlon, Motorcycles/Cars and anything to do with science and maths.

Teaching Experience:

After graduating in Summer 1992 with an Honours Degree in Chemical & Process Engineering from the University of Glamorgan, I set up my tutoring business to assist parents & pupils with examination preparation, who felt they were being let down by the educational system.

I worked as an examiner for the WJEC from 1997 to 2002 marking Maths papers.

I currently teach on a 1-2-1 basis or in small groups, usually {but not exclusively} in the privacy of the pupils home, in the following subjects:-

* Key stages 1 to 4 {GCSE} in Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Design and Technology, Electronics.

* 'A' Levels {GCE} in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics

* BTEC Engineering, Nursing & Health Care courses, Paramedics, Sports Science.

* Degrees in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Aerospace, and Nursing.

* UKCAT Entrance exams to Medicine and Dental school.

Tutoring Approach:

I thoroughly prepare students for examinations using past paper practise to build up their self confidence and develop the ability to read and digest each exam question.

During the interim term time, I conduct 'student led' lessons, where each of my pupils is able to tell me what they want to learn; whether it be new material, homework assistance or revision of old topics.

I structure my lessons this way because I teach many different students of varying abilities, who are studying at different levels and using different exam boards e.g. WJEC, OCR, AQA, EDEXCEL.

Personal Description:
Annie has enjoyed teaching Functional English (equivalent to GCSE English) for the past two years. As a published writer/novelist, her passion for writing is apparent in every lesson - whether for children or for adults.

Her degree in Theology and her position as Assistant Examiner for OCR, marking GCSE Religious Studies exam papers every summer, gives her a unique insight into the examination requirements. She has had educational resources published, relating also to GCSE Religious Studies. This all means she can teach 'to spec' every step of the way, in a lively, thorough and often humorous manner.

She is also enthusiastic about preparing KS2 children for their English SATs, and assisting AS/A2 Philosophy students with their course.

Finally, she is fully qualified to teach EFL/ESOL (English to speakers of other languages) and would welcome the opportunity to take on more students in this area.

Teaching Experience:

Two years teaching Functional English (adults).
Twelve years teaching assistant for KS2 (lots of SATS work).
Some A Level Philosophy teaching.
Some lecturing for degree course (Bristol Baptist College, Theology/ethics).

Personal Description:
Imagination; innovation; inspiration - tuition tailored to the individual and designed not just to educate, but to inspire!

Annabel is a professional and capable tutor who has many years experience working with children, teenagers and adults. Highly motivated, creative and intuitive, she puts enjoyment at the heart of every lesson and believes everybody has the potential to improve and excel. Annabel has a DBS clearance and also has a certificate in 'Level 3 Safeguarding Children'.

Annabel effectively tailors every lesson to the individual and is able to utilise her skills in order to ensure every tutee is given tuition to suit their personal learning style. Equally adept with pre-schoolers and GCSE students, Annabel enjoys the challenge and subsequent rewards that come from working with a wide age-range. Specialist tuition for those with dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia is offered to encourage confidence and proficiency when learning new ideas and concepts.

IMPORTANT NOTES

★ Tuition is carried out at Annabel's own venue. People learn more effectively outside of their home environment and also this enables Annabel to keep session costs down. All tutees are entitled to an introductory session (normally priced) before paying for a block of five or ten sessions. Online tuition is offered for those who cannot travel to the venue.

★ Hourly rates for secondary students increase if Annabel has to do extra preparation, or buy additional materials, and all KS3, GCSE and EFL students will be given an induction before a set price is given (this is never over 23 per hour for KS3 and 25 per hour for GCSE/EFL). EFL lessons cover those who are working to at least a 'Lower Elementary Level' and, unfortunately, Annabel is unable to offer English tuition to those who speak only single words, or no English.

Personal Description:
In July 2013, I graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London, undertaking a BMus (Hons) Music degree (2.1) with a principle study in singing (1st). I took two gap years before going to university to gain experience in the music and drama fields. I have studied modules at university ranging from Bach to Beethoven and Sibelius to Weill.

Teaching Experience:

In my two gap years I was a gap student at Bedales Schools for a term and then was invited back to cover a member of music staff. Responsibilities included teaching 8-13 year old mixed pupils classroom music as well as supervising music practices. I also tutored pupils through grade 5 theory achieving merit and distinction grades.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very laid-back attitude to teaching and will teach you in similar ways that I have been taught. I understand totally that some pupils need several ways of explaining things so bring a variety of teaching methods to my lessons. I make teaching interesting and engaging and always try to relate the subject to the pupil. I have been very fortunate to learn under some inspirational teachers and would love to be able to carry on their enthusiasm to other students.

Personal Description:
I am working as a Research Associate at Imperial College London. I received my PhD in Control Theory from City, University of London in October 2016. I graduated in Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering and I hold a Master Degree in Telecommunications and Networks. Also, I have Teaching Certificate in Academic Practice awarded by Higher Education Academy.

Being at University raises my awareness of stress that students might feel if not doing well in mathematics. Therefore, teaching gives me a great deal of satisfaction to help students to improve their maths knowledge and progress further.

Teaching Experience:

I teach on a wide range of university modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include: Engineering Mathematics, Mathematics and Computation, Programming and Design (C, Python), Digital Logic, Digital Signal Processing and Linear & Non-Linear Systems. Since this academic year I am a Widening Participation Tutor working with pupils from as young as Year 5 all the way to Year 13 at schools and colleges around London.

Tutoring Approach:

I always work at a pace that suits each individual student, making the subjects interesting, fun and accessible for students so they will learn more easily and remember more. My lessons are well detailed and prepared to give the student with as much knowledge as possible. I encourage them to practice more and advise them on exam technique and how to achieve better grades.

Personal Description:
I'm a young aspiring graduate petroleum engineer with a passion to be the best at what i do. I also have a passion for helping people get through challenges especially in areas I think I have the ability to.

Teaching Experience:

I have various informal experiences of teaching. My formal experience of teaching dates back to 2012 where I was the Grade 5 Mathematics and science teacher at an elementary school in Lagos Surburb, Nigeria, West Africa. I also used this period to do some private tutoring for various client teaching children that were preparing for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in giving people what they need to understand the concept. I believe that a keen understanding of any problem matter is the key to solving not just that problem but tougher and more challenging ones that may be encountered in the future. I believe in a simple to gradually increasing complexity of problem tackling, ensuring that key concepts areas are well understood from simplified ones.

Personal Description:
I am a PhD in Chemistry and currently working in a secondary school. I have also been tutoring and would like to continue doing so as I find it to be a very rewarding job. I have an extensive experience as I have been in this field for more than 20 years.

As a parent, I know that my children benefited from being tutored prior to their GCSEs and A levels. Due to this reason, I would like to provide others with the same opportunity to boost their confidence so that they can excel in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. I am a calm, collected and patient individual who enjoys supporting and encouraging students to take an interest in Science due to its fast-growing field with a vast array of job prospects.

Teaching Experience:

Through working at a secondary school in Surrey since 2007, I have developed key skills to support the learning of pupils within a structured teaching situation, small group withdrawal or individually as required. Working with individual pupils allows me to maintain their personal confidence, promote positive behaviour and encourage them to be independent individuals.

Furthermore, I have also worked as Lecturer of Chemistry from which I gained experience in preparing suitable resources for all topics and delivering lectures to a class environment. I always monitored the progress of my students and ensured they received sufficient guidance.

Tutoring Approach:

Along with working during the day , I provide tuitions in the evenings and weekends in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Maths. As I am a flexible individual, I ensure that my tuitions are tailored to meet each tutee's needs.
Usually, I begin with ensuring that they have a strong foundation of the topic before studying it in greater detail. A strong foundation allows the tutee to apply their knowledge more effectively to exam style questions.
If the tutee would like to consolidate a particular topic, I would prepare various questions either from past papers or text-books to ensure that their understanding is clear. Also, I believe that memorising key definitions and facts can be very useful in an exam. Therefore, I use various memory games, flash cards and mini-tests to ensure that the tutee can recall these key definitions in a time-pressured exam environment. Through being a published research chemist, I have been able to understand various topics in detail such as, 'photo catalysed transformation of some toxic substances on semi-conducting chalcogenides'. I have also written a thesis on this topic and therefore, I believe, that my knowledge will allow me to tutor for A-Level Chemistry very effectively.
Due to my ample experience of working in different fields, I have gained good communication and problem solving skills. I believe in having a high standard in work and hope that it will reflect in my tutee's progress.
