After I graduated from French Language and Literature at Wroclaw University (Poland) I worked three and a half year in Polish-French Friendship Association, of which I was also a member. This job gave me experience in teaching at all learning levels and with various age groups (from teenagers to seniors). I was also a co-organizer of cultural events which brought students closer to French culture.
I also worked in two language schools giving individual lessons to Polish management staff in French companies. For many years I have been giving one-to-one lessons to learners of all age groups (from children to adults), often helping them to prepare for various exams (DELF, university, etc.).
Since I came to Scotland I also have started to teach Polish in French and English answering to a great demand. As I am a native speaker it is a very interesting experience and gives me a lot of satisfaction.

Tutoring Approach:
Teaching a foreign language for so many years while being not a native speaker gives me this advantage that I understand better what problems and difficulties learners may encounter - in French as well as in Polish. Therefore, I can help them to overcome these difficulties because I dealt with similar problems before.
In tutoring it is very important to apply adequate teaching methods and materials, according to individual needs. To avoid boredom I tend to use not only the books but also to work on live language - songs, newspapers etc. For effective learning lessons should be interesting and varied and of course in friendly atmosphere :-)

Teaching takes place in my own home, which is near Roundhay School, and Tesco's on Roundhay Road.

I teach at all levels, from Primary to A-level to first-year degree maths. All are welcome.

Personal Description:
I am currently in the second year of my doctorate in Film and Telvision at Glasgow University. Although my key interest is Film and Television, I am also well-versed in Philosophy, being able to teach both continental and analytic traditions owing to my previous study to honours level in the subject.

I'm a 23-year-old postgraduate student from Nottingham Trent University with two First Class degrees - one in English Literature from Lancaster University and a postgraduate degree in Print Journalism from Nottingham Trent University.
I'm friendly and approachable and love to meet new people. I live in Lancaster and intend to take on a further course of study in the next academic year - hopefully leading on to a PhD in English Literature.

Teaching Experience:
I have taught for several weeks at Skerton High School, in Lancaster, as well as taking part in several one-to-one teaching opportunities through college and University. I enjoyed my time spent teaching very much, which has influenced me to offer my services to children or adults who would benefit from a little extra attention on the run up to exams, in a subject they struggle with or in an academic area they'd like a bit of outside influence in.

Tutoring Approach:
I've always achieved very high results myself but I don't believe this can be done working alone from a text book. I like to engage students with lots of questions and encourage them to work through their ideas out loud, through research and practical examples.
I achieved my two degrees, 5 As at A Level and 2 As and 9 A*s at GCSE this way - and I'm sure others can benefit from it too.
