Personal Description:
An experienced examiner. Graduated in Chemistry (BSc) before completing an MSc in Analytical Chemistry, I have been tutoring A-level Chemistry for 10 years. I started tutoring during my PhD studies and have continued ever since. In addition to this I have been marking A-level Chemistry papers for the last 5 years. (AS Organic, Foundation and practical modules). When I was studying in Liverpool, I helped up to 8 students at a time but will be limiting numbers this year. I generally try to make more time available in the run-up to exam season so I might be able to accommodate more.

Teaching Experience:

Approximately 30 students over the last 10 years.

10 Years of marking A-level Chemistry papers.

Tutoring Approach:

This will vary from student to student and the target grades. I am happy to negotiate the approach and pace with the student but do insist on studying around their specific syllabus and like to include exam technique and practise where I can.

I can work through the syllabus from begining to end, last minute cram sessions or limit the tutoring to specific problem areas.

Personal Description:
I practised as a Solicitor, specialising in Criminal Law for some 18 years, having attained a 2:1 Combined Honours LLB in Law and Politics, followed by the Professional Qualification - 6 of those years were running my own sole practice.
My original career plan was to teach, and so having undertaken my Professional Graduate Diploma of Education., I have contracts to teach Law and History subjects, at varying levels, including the Levels 3 and 6 Professional CILEX Law qualification, to different age groups. This leaves me time to offer a more individually tailored service to students requiring extra help as the exam season approaches.
My particular subject area is Law, from Level 3 to Level 6.
A Level and Undergraduate Law tutoring in litigation based subjects are my specialities - especially Criminal Law / Contract / Tort / Employment

Teaching Experience:

- Level 6 Law for The Institute of Legal Executives Professional Practice Qualification
- Level 3 (A Level standard) Business Law in Accountancy Professional Practice
- Level 3 History (A Level standard - Access to Higher Education [Teaching] Course
- Level 3 Law and Business
- Level 3, Year 1 Diploma in Law - Tort / Crime / Contract / Employment subjects and Preparing /Organising /Writing/ Directing Mock Trials
In summary, I teach law to 16-18 year olds and professionals, trainee accountants, and working paralegals, as well as History and Health subjects to students progressing to university

Tutoring Approach:

Assessment and curriculum requirements of the relevant course are paramount to ensure the student knows what the examining / awarding body expects in order to achieve. Once this is clear, the student can then begin to enjoy the learning through scenarios and stories
Review of learning, by inter-linking new topics with old, and use of examples and scenarios built and developed from experience, enables the student to recall and use what they know
Every student has an individual way of learning, and tapping into that is essential for transferring knowledge. Advice on examination technique, and the expectations of coursework are often neglected in mainstream teaching, yet are vital to qualification, and the use of knowledge.
I have a strong belief that tutees often overestimate the amount of paid tutoring they need, especially with the wealth of resources available, and with the appropriate guidance, the cost effectiveness of individual teaching and advice can surprise - in any case my charges are kept low, because I enjoy the work.
I'm happy to provide tuition at the tutees home, and only make a charge 12 per lesson for the return travel - that includes travel time and expense within a radius of 20 miles - learning should be fun as well as affordable, because if it's hard work, it's hard to remember.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified primary school teacher in my 30s. I am friendly, patient and approachable and enjoy helping children with their learning. I am able to provide help with KS1 and KS2 English/Literacy (reading, writing, spelling or a combination of these), and KS1 and KS2 maths. I particularly work with children who find the subject difficult and would like a little extra help and children who have specific special educational needs. My specialist subject is history and am happy to provide support for this subject at primary level also. I do not tutor for school entrance exams.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked in education for 13 years, as a class teacher in Years 3 and 5, a museum teacher and currently as a Year 5 and 6 teacher in a village school in the Forest of Dean. I have been home tutoring for six years. The children I have tutored have gained in confidence, improved their skills and moved up groups in school within months.

"We can't thank you enough for all the help and guidance you have given H during the time you have taught him." (Parent)

"Thank you for helping me get better at maths and literacy. Since you have been helping me I have moved up a set to a better class. I am pleased about this, as now I feel more confident." (Year 5 pupil)

Tutoring Approach:

I believe learning should be fun, active and relevant to the child's interests and needs. I tailor lessons to the child's abilities, learning styles and interests, and include suitable levels of challenge to help them progress. I believe praise and encouragement is conducive to success and in raising a child's confidence if they are struggling. I am used to working with a wide range of children who have different abilities and interests, and can quickly assess the level they are working at and tailor their learning to suit their needs and interests.

Personal Description:
I am Matt, I've a Bsc(Hons),,majoring Physics,Mathematics and Chemistry. Currently I am doing a PhD in Quantum Physics . I am very enthusiastic about teaching . its kind of a hobby of mine and its my ultimate passion. I believe I have enough qualifications and experience to be your tutor. As a human being I think I have enough patience and good sense of humor. and I am a good listener.( REFERENCES ARE AVAILABLE FROM MY STUDENTS). I have many hobbies and interests some of them are, Teaching, writing, Yoga, Meditation, Music, Traveling, Swimming, Archery, Kick boxing, Quantum Entanglement, Quantum Teleportation, BioPhysics, Epigenetics, building Power Amplifiers ,Telekinesis, Linux, Unix, C programming, General Relativity,.. etc. My First lesson would be free of charge.

Teaching Experience:

I've been tutoring since 2005. Since then I have taught many students from different backgrounds with different abilities. and taught at different levels (up to undergraduate level, for many examination boards, AQA, EDEXEL,OCR, MEI, IB, JEB,CIE, IGCSE, etc. including home schooling students.) I think so far I have given my best to my students to reach their academic goals. I hope to do the same in the future. (*If you want References are available from my students)

Tutoring Approach:

I believe each student is unique. and as a tutor I respect that uniqueness .Basically my first step towards a new student would be, to understand his/her uniqueness , hence find the student's weakness and strengths . so I would be able to help the student to overcome his/her weakness and strengthen pupil's current knowledge.

I may use different styles of teaching methods, depending on the student's ability and attitude. My main method is "student first" method. That is, I would first listen to the student what he/she got to say about a particular problem. and then I would guide the student to work through that problem and come to the correct solution ( here the student will be actively involve in solving the problem than just listening to the tutor) . More often I would use everyday life experiences to explain what I teach. and I may use reductionism method . i.e. breaking down a large problem to small parts when its appropriate . This method can be very efficient dealing with problems in maths, physics and chemistry.

I have learnt through my tutoring experience, the main reasons why students achieve lower grades. they are...

*Lack of Knowledge and Understanding in fundamentals ,
*Lack of right practice ( Including Exam practice),
*Lack of time management skills in exam situations,
*Lack of knowledge and practice to recognize the keywords/key sentences in exam questions
*Lack of proper Writing Skills,
*Above factors would lead to Lower SELF CONFIDENCE
So I would put lot of emphasis on the above factors in my tutoring practice to give the maximum opportunity to my students to attain better grades.

Whatever approach I may use to teach , I will be always friendly and I will always be willing to help the student to overcome her/his weaknesses and sharpen the current knowledge.

Personal Description:
I very much enjoy teaching science, particularly chemistry and physics. I would like to inspire more young people to go on to study science at university and to use it in their future careers. Apart from teaching I enjoy cycling, singing, dancing and playing the tenor recorder!

Teaching Experience:

I have seventeen years teaching experience in secondary schools as a science and chemistry teacher. I have taught chemistry and physics to A-level standard and biology to GCSE standard. I would regard myself as a chemistry specialist.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to find out the particular learning needs of each pupil and to make sure that their understanding is as complete as possible. It is important to me that the pupil has an enjoyable and fulfilling time during the tutorial. Where he or she shows an interest, I enjoy open discussions that can extend learning into any area of biology, chemistry or physics. I enjoy explaining the underlying mathematical theory that underpin scientific principles.

Personal Description:
I have a Ph.D. and 1st class Honours degree in chemistry and physics and have worked in research laboratories in Universities and industry for over 7 years. During this time I also lectured and tutored chemistry and physics. I also developed strong links with a local school to supervise Advanced Higher Chemistry projects and have strong experience in this area. I am particularly specialised in Advanced Higher / 1st Year University and have spent a lot of time tutoring pupils of this age and level. I have a unique range of study materials for all levels that I teach, which have been developed to allow pupils to focus on practising questions in areas of their own particular weakness.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored undergraduate students and school students in chemistry and physics for more than 10 years. I am very familiar with the syllabus for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher chemistry and physics and 1st and 2nd year undergraduate and college chemistry courses.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very friendly and approachable and aim to make my students feel at ease and enjoy the lessons. I have an excellent range of practice materials for all courses I tutor. These can be worked on during the lesson or left with the student for additional practice and marked by me after their attempt. I frequently tutor the same students for consecutive years as they progress through the secondary school system and am often recommended to their classmates by word of mouth. I tutor a range of abilities from students struggling to sit the National 5 exam to students trying to attain an A at Advanced Higher.

Personal Description:
I am in my fifth year of teaching. At the present time I am teaching sixth form college. I have successfully completed my PGCE course (Secondary Mathematics) at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2011. Prior to this, I hold a combined degree in Pure Mathematics and Statistics. I have also been on a number of courses covering behaviour management, AFL, pace in teaching/learning and differentiation.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experiences began at Woodlands School and Seven Kings High School, as part of my PGCE training and I had the opportunity to teach across the full ability range of year 7 to 11. I also fully participated in helping pupils in the Statistics and pure Mathematics AS Level classes. I finished my most recently teaching practice at Woodlands School where I taught maths across range and the use of ICT interactive board for maths lessons. My teaching practice was encouraging because I enjoyed interacting with students at various levels. During my teaching practice, I planned my lessons to very good standard and appropriate and challenging learning objectives which include a variety of activities and assessment techniques. I have gained a lot of experience from especially the one to one and that modified my teaching of low ability classes, concentrating on breaking tasks and making lessons interesting enough to lengthen student's concentration.
In my most recently employment as a Maths teacher at Woodlands School, Basildon, I have been mostly entrusted with foundation GCSE classes, KS3 mixed ability sets and numeracy classes.

Tutoring Approach:

Having had the opportunity to teach across board for this while had provided me with a wide knowledge base for my professional conduct as a teacher. I constantly upgrade my teaching methods through evaluations and feedbacks I get from pupils and sometimes through learning walks by SLTs. I am confident I have acquired a lot strategies and methodologies for teaching all topics to all years and sets. I thoroughly prepared each lesson taking into consideration previous knowledge and suitability of the time it's taught. I recorded all homework and some important class exercise which are used to monitor children's progress and to find ways of how to address any inconsistencies. I have often liaised with parents if I needed parental support. For bottom sets, I learned the importance of the use of pictures and visual stimulus to meet pupils' learning needs. I have mastered the art of breaking up lessons into chunks to make it simpler for pupils to follow and finding straight steps pupils can easily grasp with complex topics. This has been one of my enviable achievements as it has always interested my maths colleagues. Concerning year sevens and lower forms, I learnt a lot about the importance of giving rewards in the form of stamps, commendations and stickers as motivation. Every learning has been thoroughly planned using Maths Framework Standards with levels and differentiation. For bottom sets working in partnership with support staff for SEN and EAL pupils has been very enjoyable and rewarding.
The opportunity to be a year 10 and during my last term a year 7 form tutor as well as the homework club tutor at Woodlands School had also given me a strong knowledge base on the pastoral care of students and participations in extracurricular duties.
Commitment
I am committed to developing my professional skills in all aspects of the art of teaching. I look upon my students not merely as students in the strict sense of the word, but also as an extension of myself. I want them to succeed, because when they do I also succeed.

Personal Description:
Having focused my early life studying and tutoring Physics and Mathematics, I graduated from Kings College London, one of the Russell Group of universities with a 2.1. I took up an opportunity to train and work in Finance and Accounting, gaining experience working for organisations including the National Westminster Bank and a Fortune 500 company. Having spent over ten years successfully working in this area, I felt a change in direction and wanted to reengage in my original interest of teaching. As well as gaining work privately, I have been working as a tutor for several charities.

Teaching Experience:

Over 3 years experience tutoring Maths, Physics and Science. Duties have included assisting with homework, using workbooks to support the classroom led learning, working through past papers and running revision classes focusing on model answers and exam technique. I have been brought into schools to work with pupils and raise their attainment. Reliable and enthusiastic with a supportive approach.

Tutoring Approach:

While I do cover the methods and applications to worded problems, asking questions is at the heart of my tutoring. This is important because:
- A pupil can learn how to approach problems they are not familiar with.
- It enables the pupil to demonstrate their level of understanding.
- It helps the pupil to develop a deeper understanding of the material.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly, approachable, fifth year medical student currently studying at Imperial College London. I am very passionate about education and I find great satisfaction in helping people achieve.

I have GCSEs in Maths, German, French, Geography, Graphics, English Literature, English Language, Religious Studies, IT, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, A2 levels in Maths, Chemistry and Biology and an AS level in Geography. Before commencing my medical studies I read Biochemistry for 4 years at Warwick University and achieved a 2:1.

Due to my experience in applying to medical school I am happy to help with personal statements, UKCAT and interview technique. Having sat in on the interview panels for 2 years at Imperial I can give first hand advice on exactly what medical schools are looking for at interview, and what they want to read on a personal statement.

Teaching Experience:

At Warwick University I was employed as a Biostatistics tutors for the first years for 1 academic year. I also have an abundance of experience working with younger children through various volunteering schemes and therefore I am experienced in helping children of all ages reach their full potential in many aspects of their lives, not just academically.
I have taken 3 students through their GCSEs over the last couple of years and have relished watching their grades and confidence improve

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in tailoring tutoring to each individual's learning style to get the best out of our time together. I do this whilst also trying to create an enjoyable working environment to encourage maximum learning potential. This is especially important with younger students; I want them to enjoy our sessions so that they look forward to them and get the most out of them.
I am also happy to set work to be done outside of the sessions, which can then be worked on together in future meetings.

These are my fees for one student:
15 pounds a class/hour if you are taking 10 classes together. 20 pounds if you are taking each class/hour at a time. My time is flexible, so MY hour is roughly an hour and 10 minutes or even more to make up for any lagging in the class.
Parents are welcome to come with their children to the class :-)
Please let me know of any medical conditions or dietary requirements in advance. Thanks.

Teaching Experience:

12 years of experience in teaching the Arabic language for children and adults.

10 years of experience in teaching Koran for children, newly-converted Muslims and non-Arabic speakers.

12 years of experience in teaching English for non-English speakers.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to provide a solid grounding in Arabic, English and Koran while paying close attention to the needs of the individual. Learning should be fun and engaging, not a sort of punishment.

When teaching Koran, I don't impose my views on the student. I only educate him/her on what the text says and leave its spiritual interpretation to his/her judgement.

Personal Description:
I am a recent Cass Business School MSc Graduate in field of Supply Chain. My BSc is in Economics, Finance and Management. I have a background in social and commercial entrepreneurship having worked in several start-ups and ngos.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English as a second language in Malaga Spain for 5+ years.

In Malaga, Spain there is a shortage of learning opportunities and availability of English tutors. I recognised that as a native speaker I could dedicate my spare time to tutoring students who wished to improve their conversational English. I taught on average 8-10 students a week. Ages varying mostly between 4-16 with the occasional adult learner.

As a fluent Spanish speaker I am now offering tuition for individuals seeking to develop their grammar or conversational skills in the Spanish language (Castellano).

Tutoring Approach:

As I mostly worked with children I used my creative technique to develop interactive and fun learning games to maintain the children's attention and maximise their learning. My teaching approach has been very popular in the past that I've had a long waiting list.

My method usually consists of first identifying the level and requirements of my tutoree and then developing a session outline based on the individual's needs and preferences.

Personal Description:
I am currently partaking in a gap year. I am a hard working and motivated person that has a lot of experience working with children in both schools and on holidays camps. I have a very calm nature and a lot of patience. I pride myself in being able to communicate well with all individuals, as well as being very creative. I am constantly looking of new ways to teach, and to learn myself.

Teaching Experience:

In recent months I completed my A Levels. For AS I recoieved an A in geography. Then for A2 an A* in business, A in religious studies and B in psychology. I have previously tutored other young children aged 10 and 15 in both English and Geography. I have also assisted to teach religious studies (philosophy and ethics) to GCSE and A Level students. I have a natural flare for teaching and working well with children. Due to just finishing both A Levels and GCSE's in recent years, I am very experienced in the current system and how to get th best marks.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is a calm but disciplined method. I try to use creative ways to help teach different topics to make hem more memorable. I try to focus on repeating the important aspects of the course, along with a lot of exam question practice in maximise success. I understand the importance of repeating information and covering all potential questions to be fully prepared for exams.

I use a lot of visual techniques and formats when teaching as I believe this is one of the best methods when learning a subject. Especially a combination of images, coloured texts and videos.

Personal Description:
Hi everyone!!
My name is Betty. I am 31.
I have recently relocated to Southampton, UK, but before I have lived in two of the most beautiful cities in the world, Venice where I was born and Paris where I studied.
I am here to tell you all the secrets of these beautiful cities and to prepare you travelling across Italy or France or simply learning more about these countries. Despite how much I love both cities I call home, I have never stopped travelling because I am passionate about diversity and language learning. I am an active and enthusiastic person, engaged in many activities and sports.
I can help you improving your confidence in speaking and language learning, understanding the problem you experience because I have been experiencing them as a language learner myself.

Teaching Experience:

After my studies, alongside other languages related jobs, I started teaching because I wanted to be in constant learning as my students are. Teaching is everyday new, each class and each student having specific needs.

My past teaching experiences vary from adults to 11-14 aged students. I taught French in maintained schools in Italy, as well as French and Italian for adults within firms and language schools.

My teaching method is based on the communicative approach and I like using cultural subjects, small games and songs to develop free communication and interaction: having fun is the real engine of language learning. In my classes, I aim to using only the target foreign language but I am fluent in English and I can help the student translating, if necessary.
I like attending refreshment courses to face new methodologies and issues. I love building my own teaching material so that I can tailor my classes to the student's specific learning style and goals.

Furthermore, I can propose specific business oriented classes thanks to my professional experiences in the construction industry and in tourism. Do not hesitate to contact me for any specific requirement you might have!

Tutoring Approach:

Let's break the ice.

First, you need to look at me as your first supporter and coach.

I am here to motivate you and give you the best tools to become fluent in your target language.
How?
First, let me know why are your learning Italian or French, try to write down your specific goals or let's find them together in our first classes. After that, I will help you on your way to achieve your targets, preparing you through our classes, homework or extra activities I will propose you. We will start from what you like doing because having fun is the better way to study.
I am a patient teacher and my first goal is rising your self confidence in using the foreign language. Do not fear any mistake or embarassment and contact me!

I have a First-Class Degree in International Management (a university course which combines Foreign Languages and Business Studies) from the Hochschule Bremen in Germany and Westminster University in London. I am a mum to two young girls and I worked in marketing for several years before I had my children.
I have a passion for languages and speak four languages including my native German. I love different cultures and have travelled the world extensively.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored a wide range of age groups and language skills in Germany and the UK. I have extensive personal experience learning foreign languages having studied three languages at school and have continued to do so during my university studies and recently taking part in an adult learning class to refresh my Spanish. I understand that different people benefit from different teaching methods and that having fun while learning is beneficial to the learning process.

Tutoring Approach:

My style is relaxed and friendly. My aim is to focus on the student's needs and to make language learning an enjoyable experience. I adapt my teaching style to the age and interest of the learner, and to the needs and purpose of the learning.
