I am tri-lingual, fluent in Russian, English and Lithuanian. Over the years I have developed and honed many important skills, such as patience, reliability & diligence. Teaching Experience:

I regularly work for local government, i.e. the NHS, schools, social services etc) as an interpreter. This experience is very useful in equipping me to be able to ensure that my language students develop an extremely rounded vocabulary.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is that it has to first and foremost be FUN! I feel that my students learn more readily when they are enjoying themselves. I employ a highly personalised approach with individual strategies for all my students, whether they be six or sixty-six, whether they be studying for an examination or merely for pleasure.

Personal Description:
I might be expensive but I am worth it as your child will see a marked improvement in their results and confidence levels. To assess whether I am the right tutor for you I offer the first lesson for free.

I also offer short intensive Maths courses for entrance to American Universities on some weekends. Each course is 2 days long and is specifically tailored for UK students. It is specifically designed to bridge the gap in knowledge, format and techniques between the GCSE Maths exam and the SAT exam. If you use UK Tutors to contact me about the courses I will deduct their fee from the course price.

I was awarded a First Class Honours degree from University College London in 1997 and went on to study a PhD in Quantum Mechanics. On successful completion of my PhD in 2001 I started work at Thales Research and Technology (TRT) where I led projects on Adaptive Learning Systems and Information Management. I initiated the first programme to span the three TRT laboratories in France, Netherlands and UK in the area of Cognitive Systems research. I then went on to set up and lead a large collaborative team between TRT and University of Surrey to study remote collaboration technologies. I joined General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited in 2005, primarily to ensure exploitation of DIF DTC technologies into the UK Ministry of Defence Equipment Programme. I received my Chartered Physicist status in 2004 and am now a director of an innovation company.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience ranges from teaching GCSE students all the way up to teaching PhD students to improve their thesis writing skills. One of my students improved from a D to an A at GCSE level after just six months of tuition with me, and commonly students improve by at least one grade. Apart from the usual syllabuses I am experienced at teaching students the Maths section of the SATs and ACTs in order to get scholarships to American Universities.

Tutoring Approach:

My tuition method involves making Maths and Physics fun so that children and young adults will remember their lessons and overcome the "I can't do science" syndrome. So that you can assess whether or not I am the right tutor for your child I offer the first lesson for free.

My private 1:1 tutoring often involves preparing students for 'A' Level, college and university or building portfolios for further education.

Many of my university students have gone on to be leading professionals in the creative industries, but you may wish to have lessons to improve your technique of a media or drawing application, as a leisure painter.

Tutoring Approach:

My background is in natural history illustration and wildlife art, working in a variety of media including; watercolour, acrylics, graphite and oils. However I can plan engaging lessons that will help you develop an understanding and skills to convey tone, form colour and light for whatever subject you are interested in.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate from Bristol University with a Masters Degree in Mathematics, specialising in Applied Mathematics and in particular, Quantum Mechanics. I am patient and friendly, and keen to pass on my enthusiasm for the subject.
I am an avid musician and devote much of my spare time to playing piano and guitar, both of which I play in my band. I am also a big fan of going to gigs/festivals, barbeques, playing sport and hanging out with friends.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a private tutor since September 2011 and have had a great deal of success, the most recent of which including students being accepted to study at both Oxford and Cambridge, all of my A-Level students achieving A/A* grades, and a mature student whom I taught Further Maths from scratch has received an offer and is now studying Physics at Surrey University.
I taught in a school in Bristol as part of my studies which included a lesson a week whereby I taught algebra to a group of students from Somalia with very limited English skills. I have also spent 3 weeks teaching and assisting in a local school in Guildford.
I have worked with students of all abilities and so am able to pitch my explanations at the appropriate level for the student, and have been praised for my ability to provide clear and concise explanations, and my friendly approach to teaching. I am young, enthusiastic and experienced in exam preparation and revision techniques.

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer teaching Maths by explaining concepts at a fundamental level, following up with well-worked examples of the theory in action. This is because in my experience, to understand something properly you need to understand not only where it came from but how it's properly applied.
I normally draw up sheets with all the vital information about a topic for the student so that they have something they can refer to quickly to find what they need. In the past I have set a few problems for the student to do in between lessons and we would then look at them together the following week, and of course I am happy to go through problems together that the student is struggling with.

I have helped many students achieve much better results than they initially expected. Many people find that they can understand what they at first found difficult in a well managed one to one setting. I give the lessons at my home. I have been tutoring since 1987. I have a first class honours degree in mathematics. I work as a mathematics tutor in a state school, teaching A level maths to sixth-formers and able pupils in lower years. I have also helped students prepare for STEP. I get about half my students on recommendation

Tutoring Approach:

I do in the lesson what the student asks me to do, but I am prepared to structure a course for somebody not in school,

Personal Description:
Hey there. I'm Danny, and I'm a fifth year medical student at Imperial College London, but my interests aren't solely limited to medicine! I love learning new languages, travelling to new places, and am committed to furthering the education of the next generation.
Outside of medicine I love cycling and running; having previously completed several half marathons and a marathon, I'm working my way up to a triathlon. I'm also an active member of my local chess club, which I thoroughly enjoy. Music is also a large part of my life - I've played guitar for 8 years and am currently teaching myself classical guitar.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring officially for four years now, but also unofficially tutored my sister and other students for GCSE/AS Level previous to this. My experiences includes tutoring students in the areas of Maths, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and German, and experience from the past few years has allowed me formulate my preferred method of tutoring and find out what works best for the student in question.
I now attend conferences aimed at helping younger students get into medical school, which includes conducting mock interviews, helping students with their personal statements and tutoring them.
I've previously been a Medic Dad, which mentoring a medical student in the first year and being an unofficial port of call if they need help with academic matters or otherwise. Finally, last year I was an OSCE tutor, mentoring medical students in the year below me in order to help them pass their practical exams.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important thing to me is that any tutee of mine understands the fundamental concepts of what they're learning, rather than simply rote learning, as much more is achieved this way. It's also important that I help encourage any tutee to enjoy what they doing. I like to approach topics with a comfortable attitude whilst still maintaining a firm schedule of work. I hope that my being a student will allow an informal atmosphere between myself and any tutee, and that we can build a good relationship during out tutoring time while still concentrating on the important goals together.

Personal Description:
Summary of what makes me stand out:

1) Read Law at the University of Cambridge, King`s College, for a semester.

2) Strong academic record:

Zoology Bsc: First-Class Honours
A-Levels: 3 x A-stars (Biology, Maths and Chemistry)
GCSEs: 7 x A-stars, 2 x As, 1 x B.

3) Support Worker in a therapeutic residential care home for 11-18 year olds with emotional and behavioural difficulties for 1 year. I learned how to de-escalate and safeguard young people in crisis and manage challenging behaviours.

4) Team Leader at Action for Children. Organising and running activities for young people with learning disabilities, such as swimming and youth clubs.

5) I work hard to help people reach their full potential and believe in their own abilities.

About yourself:

Through my achievements I have become a lively, confident young man with a desire to push forward in life. I think having a good life balance is crucial to success, so I find time to exercise, work hard and socialise, with all three factors complimenting and improving the others. Study, work and travel have made me aware of my own capabilities, and that I will only get out of life what I put in.

I have travelled to Borneo, Peru, USA, India, Italy, Kenya, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Spain, Honduras, Egypt, Tunisia and Greece. Travelling has developed my ability to communicate confidently with new people, from a range of ages, cultures and backgrounds. I am a passionate explorer of places, ideas and experiences in different cultures.

Working for a precision engineering firm and going on a business trip to a semi-conductor exhibition in Taiwan has taught me to be punctual and professional. Working with young people, engineering, travelling, business trips and coaching football show I am not afraid of responsibility.

I have taken part in a range of extracurricular activities, from rock climbing and American Football to international development as President of the Student's for Esteli Society at University. I have learned to manage my time efficiently.

I find understanding an idea myself, and then helping others to understand that idea, very satisfying. Helping someone to reach their full potential is rewarding for myself and the tutee. My passion for biology, maths and teaching means I can ensure lessons are animated.

Teaching Experience:

I have a consistently strong academic record which can only be acquired through understanding how to excel in examinations and I have confidence in my tutoring ability. The young people I tutored included those with learning and mental health difficulties. All tutees achieved their grade targets. My third passed despite not sitting his GCSE exams in the past due to having a breakdown.

I have a year's experience working with young people with behavioural and emotional difficulties and learning disabilities. As a support worker in a therapeutic residential care home a personal strength was building a rapport with young people and undertaking therapeutic key work sessions, teaching them to manage their emotions and make positive decisions. As a team leader at Action for Children I am learning to communicate with young people with learning disabilities in new ways, especially when they are non-verbal, and pay more attention to body language and signing.

Tutoring Approach:

If you're interested in hiring me as a tutor, I am happy to meet with you first so you can determine whether I am the right person for the job. Together we can then determine what specific areas the prospective tutee needs assistance in. Once target areas have been established, I will use the syllabus, reference texts, past papers and a range of resources to apply my own knowledge and skills to improve the tutee's grades.

I understand that different people learn in different ways, and will use the technique that works best for the tutee. The teaching approach can be personalised for specific individuals, a major advantage of one to one tutoring. The atmosphere will be relaxed so the tutee feels comfortable and we can make the best use of our time. Although a relaxed atmospere, teaching will be structured and interactive. I hope to give the tutee confidence in themselves and their abilities.

I can provide further advise on revision and exam techniques, as well as ensuring the tutee has sufficient knowledge for exams. I can broaden the tutee's learning experience beyond that in schools with respect to biology if desired. I can tutor at my house, your house or a public space (perhaps a coffee shop or library) - wherever you're most comfortable. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am an EFL teacher with many years experience of teaching one to one Business and General English. I specialise in exam preparation eg. IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE and have had many success stories of students passing these exams. I am based in Maidenhead but am happy to travel within a ten mile radius.

Teaching Experience:

CertTesol obtained in October 2004. Six weeks voluntary teaching in Mexico followed by group classes in language schools. I now focus on individuals either company or home based and have helped students with exam preparation, job interviews, presentations and pronunciation. Courses have been short ie. 20 hours or very extensive sometimes continuing up to three years with a student starting with IELTS and progressing to and passing CPE. Equally some students are interested in conversation classes only and this can be very enjoyable on both sides.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a calm, flexible approach to teaching and focus entirely upon the student's particular needs and requirements. I offer a free needs analysis and initial meeting to assess level and get to know each other. I can speak several languages so have a good understanding of language learning from a student's point of view.

Personal Description:
A graduate of Cambridge and Durham I have specialised in ancient languages and literature. While based in Durham I am currently completing a PhD in Old Norse literature at the Birkbeck College, University of London.

Teaching Experience:

As well as current private tutoring in English lit, Lang and Classics at all levels I am an undergraduate tutor at Durham University. I have strong experience helping students reach their full potential and gain the grades they need or higher. I have taught both online and in person, both at GCSE-adult. I was selected as an open day lecturer for Newnham college Cambridge in 2008 and I have attended several courses on lecturing in secondary and higher education both at Birkbeck and Oxford.

Tutoring Approach:

I seek to inspire my students with the same passion and interest I feel for language and literature, texts and contexts. I tailor my approach to the need of each student, but in general teach not by lecturing but by posing questions which lead the student to a greater understanding of text and context. I aim to show students how to enjoy the subject as well as teach them the means and methods to make their studying and writing easier. I have a great deal of experience helping students with exam and essay technique.

Personal Description:
Studied Physics at the University of Southampton, after having studied it along with Maths, Music, Geography and Critical Thinking at A Level. I achieved A grades at A-level in Maths and Physics, and grades A* to A for the same courses at GCSE level. I'm a creative person and live a lot to do with music and love to learn new things and to help other people learn, because i know i was once at that stage.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored students ranging from 15 to 18 years of age in Physics and Maths before.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to have a relaxed style of tutoring. Figure out how you learn best, be it through simply working through the knowledge or imagining it vividly in your mind. We would work through some questions and figure out where areas can be improved and i'll help you improve in those areas and overall. I like to be always contactable, so i can be emailed, texted, called, skyped, facebooked, anything, communication is pretty key. At the end of the day I'd like to help you improve to the level you want to achieve.

Personal Description:
Hello, I've just finished a 1 year masters course in mathematics at Cambridge university although I began my undergraduate studies with an adventure to Nottingham to study medicine. I graduated from Nottingham in 2006 but during my first year of work rethought my career plan and decided to switch to maths. I completed my first year as a junior doctor (the 'F1' year) and then returned to Newcastle to study maths. I graduated top of my year from Newcastle's 4 year maths masters program with a first class honours degree in June 2014. After spending a year tutoring maths I went to Cambridge to do the 1 year masters (part III, focussing mainly on algebra and number theory) which I successfully completed. Having done 2 degrees I'm no stranger to studying and exams and after finishing my course I thought it would be fun to spend some time tutoring in a subject I love.

Teaching Experience:

I began tutoring in the university's maths drop in service 'Maths Aid' earlier this year after taking a 2 day course on tutoring provided by the university. Over the summer holiday I tutored undergraduate students for exams in both engineering and statistics and I also have experience tutoring A-level mathematics. I also spent some of my time in Nottingham teaching medical students practical skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a relaxed, friendly approach to tutoring. I normally find that working through examples helps to both reinforce the material and to suggest new topics to discuss and practice but if you prefer a different approach to learning I'd be happy to discuss that with you.

Personal Description:
I am 33 years old and married. I am a Science teacher at a well known state school in Hackney.

Teaching Experience:

I started teaching whilst living in Asia. I taught English for over 5 years and predominantly through tutoring. I then began teaching I.B Biology at British International school in Shanghai for two years. I have now been teaching in the UK for 4 years and have taught OCR, AQA and Edexcel GCSE science as well as OCR AS/A2 Biology.

Tutoring Approach:

I consider myself to be extremely friendly and personable and think its very important to make sessions fun and enjoyable whilst really pushing students to achieve above and beyond their expected grades. Developing a strong bond with the students so that they are comfortable is extremely important to me. However, I also feel that students must be able to feel that they are making progress at school. As such I like to make sure that I am teaching on top of what they are learning at school. I proactively teach materials before they are taught at school so they are more able to engage and excel in the classroom. I also like to help prep students for exams by going over past papers together and building exam techniques/strategies. I like to show presentations through my computer and work though activity sheets and past papers.

Personal Description:
I hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have been a teacher for more than eight years, ever since I graduated from University. I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Spanish, as well as a Master's degree in translation studies (English). I love being a teacher, as I believe that this is a profession that teaches all the professions in the world. I would go the extra mile for my students, always ready to do research, use innovative approaches and high-quality materials to help them achieve and make learning an enjoyable experience.
My students regard me as a positive, open-minded and creative teacher, who is always friendly, helpful and well-prepared.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked with a wide variety of learners, including primary, secondary students and adults. I mainly taught English as a second language and I have occasionally taught Spanish. I have a keen eye for detail and I enjoy teaching grammar, vocabulary and essay writing.
I have prepared students to pass their Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE, CPE, IELTS) and have attended numerous training courses and conferences to develop my teaching skills and liaise with other professionals in the field.
I currently teach trainers and teachers, helping them become qualified and complete their Diploma in Education and Training (Level 5). I have designed the course from scratch, using a variety of techniques and resources.

Tutoring Approach:

I use a variety of teaching methods and take into account learners' preferences when I design my lessons. I always go for a differentiated approach when I teach groups of learners and I am always eager to be as inclusive as possible in my approach. This entails using a wide range of resources - technology, games, projects and assessment types - initial, formative, summative, ipsative.
I Iove one-to-one sessions - focusing my attention on one learner will help me detect the gaps in his/her knowledge better and facilitate overcoming any barriers.
I like to design my own handouts. However, when I use books, I try to select the best and most up-to-date materials possible.

Personal Description:
Hi all,

I am a chemistry graduate with a fresh and wide knowledge of the subject. My strongest qualities are probably that I can explain science in plain language and I am genuinely interested to get you interested! We can start from the basics if needed and step by step working our way up to understand the underlying concepts of chemistry. I have a great amount of experience in writing coursework and assignments, I can teach you to research effectively and grab the details you need without getting lost in the huge amount of information you can find on the internet. I can give you hints on how to put essays and papers together if you got any issues with that. I enjoy when when my students get confidence, show interest and of course that leads to better grades eventually. It takes time and effort though, you have to work hard if you want to improve! I can effectively assist with biology, biochemistry as well.

Teaching Experience:

I teach since 2013 and find a great joy in it, because every student is different and there is always a challenge to find the best possible way to make them work for those results. There are different techniques and useful tips I can give how to remember more complex topics, but naturally you will have to take your time to read and practice as well if you'd like to make the most of it. I can help you to work through the sometimes complex and abstract ideas and concepts, they will help you to develop useful skills you don't even know of. It is impossible to remember everything and luckily this is not what they expect from you on exams. You need a good grasp of the subject , so you can solve seemingly complicated questions if you know the basics very well and are able to make associations. You need to develop a good sense of judgement and should be able to see the point in less straight forward questions as well. My ultimate goal is to help you getting to a stage where you will independently work without the need of much feedback and support.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very friendly and easy-going nature and I will try to make sure that students will feel comfortable during the lessons. I think that is particularly important, because they should not feel shy or awkward about asking the same thing several times in case they don't get it straight away. I am more than happy to go through over and over anything you have problems with. There is always a different way to explain it, just as everybody has a different mindset! Small details can make huge differences and better understanding will help to get the confidence the students need when they assessed at exams . I regularly check if my help is effective and the most suitable in the particular topic. I always take my time to prepare as well, to be ready to answer any question and I always make sure there are no blind spots. I believe in active learning, therefore we will solve questions most of the time instead of going through the book. Of course my personality or teaching style should not fit all, then I will advise to keep on searching until you find the right person you can learn from.
