I accompanied on a Japanese Canzone CD which was released in 2005 and I used to make music for TV commercials. I am a graduate of Cambridge University. I was previously at a successful, all-girls, private school.

I have top grades in a wide range of GSCEs. I took Spanish, Latin, Ancient Greek and General Studies at A Level and passed with high A grades. I have a first class degree in Classics and Oriental Studies (Middle Eastern and Islamic)

People describe me as friendly and sociable as well as organised and efficient. In my Cambridge college I held various positions of responsibility.

Teaching Experience:

I also have lots of experience as a private tutor teaching all ages and ability ranges.

Most recently I was working as a full time teacher of English at the National School of Aleppo, Syria. I had two grade 6 classes and 4 grade 10 and 11 classes.

During July '08 I taught English as a foreign language at a school in Dubai, UAE. I had my own form class but during the school day I saw 60 children between the ages of 11 and 15.

I'm an experienced stage and television actor with a degree in English (2.i) from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and a 2-year post-grad qualification from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. I live in central London (Westminster) and enjoy balancing out the right brain activities of acting with the rather more left brain activities of teaching - especially Latin, which I studied through A-Level to degree, taking a Latin translation and literary criticism paper in Part 1 of my Cambridge Tripos.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught both privately and at a range of different schools and colleges for many years. My private client base has principally been in teaching Latin for Common Entrance and GCSE. In terms of classroom experience, I have worked as a supply Latin teacher at Eaton House Schools and as an A-Level English Tutor at Collingham Tutors. The majority of my work is as a private tutor travelling to people's homes and offering additional support to 10-16 year olds who are struggling with their Latin. I have a huge success rate in terms of results, regularly turning C-grade students into A-graders.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is both pragmatic and personal. Every child is different and therefore every child requires a subtly different approach. In terms of teaching English Literature my principle objective is to inspire. In terms of teaching Latin my key concerns are rigour and attention to detail. My main interest is English Literature but I am ever-keen to use my French, and am also passionate about History, both ancient and modern. At GCSE level I opted to study primarily languages, namely French, German, Latin and Ancient Greek, and I am so grateful for the skills and linguistic understanding these diverse subjects have given me.

I am a keen reader, theatre-goer and traveller; I also enjoy sports, particularly running, netball and cycling. I live in southwest London and am happy to travel.

Teaching Experience:

I have plenty of experience tutoring people of all ages, and am currently specialising in English, French and History lessons and entrance/university interview preparation lessons.

I have worked as a temporary assistant at Faulkner House School in South Kensington during my Easter holiday from university in 2010 (children aged 3-11).

At school I worked on a mentor programme helping students from younger years with their French speaking practice and also with extra English.

I have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) qualification.

I worked with a local Brownie pack from 2006-8 which involved working with children aged 7-10, running a variety of crafts activities and games.

I`m an experienced classroom teacher available for French, Spanish or Maths tuition.
I studied BSc Accounting with Spanish before taking my PGCE, and I have experience of tutoring English to Spanish schoolchildren as a language assistant, and also of tutoring English to individuals privately in their own homes.
I am now a full time teacher of French and Spanish in one of the top boarding schools in England, having previously worked in an "outstanding" secondary school, where I tutored children (one-to-one) in Maths after school, after having completed a short course in one-to-one tutoring provided by Hertfordshire LEA.
I am also currently studying for my MEd in Educational Psychology, which I hope to complete soon. I have recently completed the CCRS qualification.

Tutoring Approach:

Teaching Experience:

I have been a classroom teacher for 23 years in 3 different schools; I was head hunted for the last job and when I left it in November 2016, it was graded outstanding by OFSTED. I have predominantly worked in year 6 where I have helped to raise standards of attainment - I have been successful in accelerating progress for many pupils (particularly in maths) to double Government expectations.

I have spent most of my career as a maths manager in schools but I have also led English and science. I have been a key stage leader for over 10 years and have mentored trainee teachers who have gone on to have their own successful teaching careers.
Winning the 2008 Award for Best Primary School Teacher in the South was an amazing experience. The judges interviewed pupils, staff and parents - families who weren't able to attend the meeting were able to submit letters of support and the highlight of the whole process was getting to read these testimonials afterwards.

Tutoring Approach:

Every pupil is different: each pupil has their own particular knowledge of facts, procedures and concepts, but they are also unique in their attitude, experience, confidence and motivation. Finding a tutoring approach that best suits each child is very important and, where appropriate, I make use of the recent educational principles of 'Growth Mindset' which challenge the notion that some people are just born clever, and encourages pupils to value risk taking, criticism and effort.

Individual tuition allows time so rarely afforded in whole class lessons to track back and identify the misconceptions that can sometimes be the underlying cause of slow progress or issues with confidence. The focus of good teaching is about building all new learning onto secure foundations and making strong and varied connections between concepts.

I also learnt how to do yoga and meditation, cook, coach football, do shiatsu, be more outgoing, sit at the dining table for long periods while chatting, and not lose my temper while driving in Rome. Teaching Experience:

Taught English for many years in Spain having my own company for children and adult groups.
Worked with an experimental school in Italy called Lingua Viva applying yoga and meditation to language learning in English and Spanish.
Set up an English summer School called Playing to Learn where students learnt English through sports.
Worked at Oakham School in Rutland for seven years as a Spanish and Italian teacher. I taught both languages to GCSE, A Level and IB diploma. I also helped students with preparation for Oxbridge exams and interviews.
Currently lead-teacher at Hebden Bridge School working with children aged 8-13.

I am very skilled in inspiring children to learn, and helping them to achieve excellent exam results. More than 60% of my students receive A stars at GCSE and at A level they achieve A*, As or Bs. Experience in successfully preparing students for 7+/11+ exams, SATS exams, and GCSE exams.

I have experience of creating Schemes of Learning for the new GCSE Mathematics (9-1) qualification, which has allowed me to focus on the necessary content, skills and problem solving strategies that students need to tackle this new qualification.

I am hard working and expect the best from myself and my students, to ensure the very best result is achieved for those that I teach. I have a bank of resources for all levels, which include past exam papers, grade booster packs, and intervention resources all intended to achieve the maximum potential of the students.

Tutoring Approach:

Every student has a different style of learning, and I adapt my lessons according to this. Engagement of lesson is most important and ensure my students are working at their optimum and with interest.

I use student data to identify weaknesses and strengths in order to complete and solidify knowledge gaps. I have experience of using Edexcel results plus to achieve such a task, which is highly effective.

I ensure my students understand the topics at hand at a deep level, so that they are able to apply what they have learnt to exam questions. I work closely with exam style questions for which I have access to a bank of resources.
