Personal Description:
I am a very experienced teacher, head of faculty, head of sixth form, examiner and writer. I have recently worked for one of the major examination boards on the new specifications for both G.C.S. E and A2 Level.

During my career as a teacher I have taught philosophy and religious studies to Advanced level and English, history, religious studies, geography and citizenship to G.C.S.E. I also specialise in developing study skills and examination techniques in a range of subjects. I have prepared VI form students for university and UCAS application, including Oxbridge, and acted as a mentor to new entrants to the teaching profession.

I am a freelance writer specialising in education, social, religious and moral issues and I also create e-learning resources for an international educational e-learning-platform provider.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience at both G.C.S.E. and Advanced level has been extensive. I am an examiner for two major exam boards and have diverse experience of creating original teaching resources tailored to the needs of pupils.

I have spent most of my career teaching across the ability and age range in 11-18 comprehensive schools although I have also taught in the independent sector.

I am also a part-time on-line tutor for one of the Oxford colleges.

I have also served on several different boards of governors as a foundation, teacher and parent governor.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that the key to success for most pupils is to develop their skills and self-confidence to enhance their ability to successfully complete their examination by developing study skills and examination techniques.

My first session with a tutee and their parents is to establish their needs and goals. Together we draw up a plan of the work which we will pursue. This plan will be reviewed regularly and a progress report compiled.

Each of the subsequent sessions comprises of:
review of any homework set
review of any problems which have occurred that week
lesson on a topic previously decided upon
My primary aim is to help my tutees overcome any difficulties which they are having with their work and to help them to achieve their goals both in the short-term and the long term. Secondly, I aim to give my tutees confidence in their own abilities and to help them develop their skills necessary to succeed in their examinations.
Relevant homework is set as a means of reinforcing the development of skills since assessment and feedback procedures largely rely on this.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified, approachable and professional tutor with nine years teaching experience. I am friendly, reliable, patient and I believe in building a student's confidence to help them achieve their potential.

I graduated at the University of Liverpool and achieved a Masters Degree in Chemistry with Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I then completed my teacher training at the University of Nottingham, before going on to work full time as a secondary school teacher.

Teaching Experience:

For the last nine years I have taught:

- Combined Science to Key Stage 3 (in a secondary school environment)
- Biology and Chemistry to GCSE and A Level (in a secondary school environment)
- A range of examination boards, including AQA, OCR, Edexcel and also the IGCSE qualification
- In both a comprehensive and an independent school
- One-to-one private tutoring sessions to students finding Biology, Chemistry and Science difficult
- One-to-one private tutoring sessions to students needing to achieve the highest grades in A Level Biology and Chemistry for entry into Medicine and Oxbridge

As well as teaching and private tutoring I also work as an Examiner so I have an additional insight into exam preparation.

My role as a teacher in an independent school also involves marking entry examinations, so I am able to prepare students for these exams.

During my industrial placement year at university I worked as a Research Scientist for GlaxoSmithKline, applying Biology and Chemistry to researching new pharmaceuticals. I frequently draw on this experience to stretch and challenge students needing to achieve the highest grades for University entry.

Tutoring Approach:

I thoroughly enjoy motivating my students and I have built a variety of teaching resources to help students of all abilities. My students tell me that I help them break down complex information into more manageable sections. As well as preparing students for examinations I try to inspire them to enjoy and apply their subjects beyond the focus of exams. I strongly believe that learning should be enjoyable and accessible to everyone.

I understand how daunting it can be for parents and students to begin tuition so I am more than happy for parents to stay during my lessons. I can provide references and testimonials from my previous students and the schools I have worked for, as well as an enhanced CRB check. I am happy to set homework, mark examination papers and give detailed feedback, as well as organise additional lessons during examination periods.

Personal Description:
Hi there! My name is Will, and I'm a graduate from the University of Cambridge (Christ's College). I studied Natural Sciences, and graduated with a 2.1 MSci specialising in Physics. I studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A-levels, and French at AS.
Maths and Physics can be daunting for many young people, yet I believe that anyone can learn to master these subjects if taught to look at the problems in the right way. All that is required is an underlying interest and an enthusiastic teacher!
I work during the week, but I am free in the evenings as well as all day on the weekends.

I am also open to giving INTERVIEW PRACTICE for anyone thinking of applying to OXBRIDGE or one of the many other institutes that demand an interview. Having been in several interviews myself, I can give advice on how to answer general questions, as well as give example questions from my experiences.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored before in my school; I was part of the Mentoring Society from year 11 onwards, in which I taught younger years (especially those taking their GCSE exams). I have also been a voluntary tutor for The Access Project for the past year, tutoring A-Level Physics.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm a very relaxed person, and so I am open to tutoring in many different ways depending on the personal choice of the tutee. I am willing to explain a particular topic, or go through questions that have been answered before the session. However, I would say that working through past papers is usually the most effective way to practice and also identify the areas in which the tutee is having difficulties. My only request is that I'm told beforehand which area/questions/past paper we should work through, to give me time to prepare!

Personal Description:
I did my undergraduate degree at St Andrews University and postgrad at Durham University; I've just returned from a year on research in the US. I love teaching and work for the Open University, which involves finding innovative ways to teach a large range of topics to students from 18 to 70 years old, which always makes for an interesting experience. I'm living in Newcastle and love the North East in general.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching at degree level since 2002, I have over 250 hours of face-to-face teaching experience.

I also have a Durham Teaching and Learning Award, a peer- and student- nominated annual prize given to 3-5 teachers in the university to recognise outstanding achievement.

I've taught in both the Philosophy and Theology & Religion departments of Durham University, as well as teaching Introductions to Arts & Humanities for the Open University. I frequently teach study skills and help address specific students' concerns about how to improve.

My experience also includes work in the Access/Widening Participation arena, and I have taught a variety of topics for the 14-18 age range, including work on the Sutton Trust Summer School programme.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is best summed up as "everyone is different". Finding out what someone enjoys, what they're good at, and how they think, is the first step in helping them get the most they can out of any topic or situation. The ways that people learn, and the things that fire their imaginations, are diverse - but the expectations of coursework and exams don't always recognise that. I see my job as not simply preparing people to pass a test or master a skill, but as helping them to discover what works best for them as a student, and giving them the confidence to approach new challenges successfully.

Personal Description:
LEARNING ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
Experienced graduate native tutor teaches Italian one to one and groups.
30 students per week. Adult and children. Beginners, intermediate, Advance levels.
Specialized in Skype lessons.
Conversation classes in Stotfold (SG5 4) on Mondays at 8:30 pm.
Survival Italian courses for tourist purposes.
GCSE and A-level teaching. University tutoring.

My name is Tiziana, I am a native Italian speaker and I was born and grow up in Grosseto (south of Tuscany). I am married to a university lecturer, with whom I have 2 children. I`ve been living in England for 5 years and now I live in Stotfold (Hitchin).
I studied at the University of Sienna (Italy) where I obtained my Master Degree in Law and qualifications to teach Italian to foreigners.
In Italy I worked as a solicitor/barrister at first and then for ten years as Chief Police Officer.
Over the last 10 years, I have developed a passion for teaching Italian to foreigners. I already ran Italian language classes while in my native country, and when I came to England, I started to give Italian lessons on a one to one basis then and I run Italian courses in Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.
I give Italian lessons via Skype to some distant students and I really enjoy this way of teaching.
I am also running a fruitful Italian conversation class for intermediate every Monday evening in Stotfold (Hitchin).
I've got my own website where you find a lot of language resources, grammar exercises, illustrated vocabulary, videos to watch, a blog filled of Italian culture, history and traditions and a lot more.
If you would like to read my Curriculum Vitae and a list of references in United Kingdom, please feel free to ask.

THE PROPER ITALIAN - MY ITALIAN BACKGROUND

In Italy we say "the pure Italian is the Tuscan Italian in a Roman mouth".
Italy is composed by a lot of regions and every region speaks a different Italian, with a different accent. North and South Italy speak a very strong dialect. Open or closed pronunciation of the vowels "O" and "E" and doubling consonants "R" and "T" are the most crucial issues.
Italian tutor's accent reflects on the students speaking. I can recognize previews teacher origin of my students only listening to them speaking. I spend a lot of time with my students adjusting their pronunciation.
I grew up in the south of Tuscany and I didn't have to make any effort to get rid of my accent just because I have never had one. Pay attention when you choose your Italian tutor abroad. If you want to learn a proper Italian go with one coming from Tuscany or Rome.

MY STUDENTS BUNCH

I have to deal with many different students every week. Most of my students are coming once a week. Some of them come twice. Almost all my students are adult learners.
Half of my students are beginners and they literally start with no Italian at all. The other half have an intermediate level and they want to improve their skills in speaking and grammar.
In my experience, after 1 year of lessons (coming once per week) a beginner advance to the intermediate level and is able to speak and understand most common Italian conversations.
My Italian lessons are tailored to students ability, skills and purpose.
I teach all levels of Italian and my teaching experience is quite varied and rich.
I have mature students registered for Master Degrees in Italy, businessmen interested in improving their business Italian, teenagers who are doing A-levels in Italian, children from families of Italian origin who don`t speak Italian at home and tourist who want to learn a Survival Italian to hold some common conversations during their holidays in Italy.

YOUR LESSON IS TAILORED ON YOU
Every Italian lesson is customized on student progress, purpose and needs. I offer a high level of flexibility in terms of timing as I am available to give out lessons every day from 8 am to 11 pm weekends included. If you can't have your lesson in the same day every week I can arrange your lessons time by time at your convenience.
Students receive all the stuff they need to study Italian (grammar, exercises, practice) in advance and there is a hard job behind that. If you study Italian with me you don't spend a penny to buy books, audio-videos or other stuff.

Teaching Experience:

I offer different kind of services:

- Italian "one to one" tuition for beginners, intermediate and advance levels
- Survival Italian courses for tourists
- Italian conversation class for intermediate level every Monday at 8:30 pm in Stotfold (hitchin)
- Italian lessons via Skype for distant students
- Italian courses for schools, companies, organizations, pr and press offices
- GCSE and A-level teaching
- University tutoring

I am successfully running an Italian conversation class for intermediate every Monday night 8:30 - 9:30 pm in stotfold (hitchin) for a very affordable price ( 5 per class).

I offer a first free meeting to all the students, before starting any lesson, in order to assess their level of proficiency as a speaker of italian and understand their purposes in attending an italian course.

Tutoring Approach:

ITALIAN TUITION ONE-TO-ONE

I teach Italian by developing written materials according to an individual learner`s needs.
I use materials of different types in order to make each lesson interesting and beneficial, including videos from Italian websites, audio tracks, dictations and games.
Each lesson is usually divided into two sections: the first one is dedicated to study some new grammar and the rest of the lesson is focused on speaking, listening and comprehension exercises to help the student`s proficiency improving day by day.
An important component of my lesson is the "free conversation", where the students tells me what they have done in the last few days. Very useful are also my "driven conversations", based on newspapers articles or other writings, on different topics.
This way my students have the opportunity to learn about Italian culture, politics, food, traditions, history etc.
I always give all my students homework to be done independently.

LESSONS PRICES AND PAYMENT TERMS

I charge 18 per 1 hour lesson or 25 per 90 minutes lesson at my house.
I offer discounts for families and groups.
I prefer to be paid monthly in advance but if you struggle to pay monthly I can accept payment lesson by lesson.
If you can't attend a class, please advice 24 hours in advance and I will offer you to re-arrange your lesson for another day.
If you miss the lesson and you haven't canceled it in advance, you will be asked to pay for the missed lesson.
You can pay my lessons cash, via cheque, pay-pal or bank transfer. If you need a receipt for your payment, feel free to ask.
For lessons at your house I will ask you a petrol refund.

CONVERSATION CLASS

An "Italian conversation class" is a valuable opportunity for Italian students to practice their spoken Italian within an informal, relaxing environment, in front of a cup of tea.
Each conversation class is organized with students who possess the same level of Italian, so that no student would feel embarrassed and the conversation can be useful to all.
The purpose of the conversation classes is to connect people who are studying or who would like to begin the study of Italian and want to practice and improve their skills acquired so far.
Each class is developed around a specific subject, easy to be addressed within a conversation: events, personal experiences, or topics, such as sports, cinema, history, hobbies, celebrations, holiday, etc..
We start from an Italian newspaper article or we comment texts about Italian history, art, traditions, culture, society and even food receipts. We watch Italian videos, we prepare together some Italian recipes and we play together some Italian table games which help everyone to practice Italian speaking. Sometimes we practice grammar trough some "grammar games" which turn the Conversation Class into a shared grammar lesson. I moderate the discussions and assures that every student takes part in the talking.
Conversation class takes place every Monday at 8:30 pm and it lasts for 1 hour.
The class is open to all. Most of the people coming to the class are my one-to-one students but some of them attend only the conversation class. You are free to attend the class whenever you want and you will be asked to pay 5,00 per class.

ITALIAN LESSONS VIA SKYPE

Have you ever tried the enjoyable experience to have your lessons from home?
Maybe you would like to learn a survival Italian in order to hold some common conversation in your next planned holiday in Italy. Maybe you are able to understand some Italian but you don't feel confident in speaking and you would need to have some conversation classes with a native, experienced teacher. Maybe you work with Italian companies and you need to improve your business Italian.
What ever is your purpose for learning Italian, you can have your lesson comfortably from home, saving you money for petrol and time driving.
Where ever you live, doesn't matter how far from me, you can have your lessons via Skype.
I have some distant students having lessons via Skype and they find this way of learning easy, cheap and comfortable, avoiding the stress of traveling and any petrol expenses.
You only need to have a computer, headphone and microphone and you are ready to start.
I offer a first free"Skype meeting" to the students, before starting lessons, in order to assess their level of proficiency as a speaker of Italian and understand their purposes in attending an Italian course.
I will prepare your lesson in advance (tailored on your purposes, needs and skills) and I will send you the lesson via email before the arranged lesson in order to allow you to print off all the stuff.
During the lesson you will follow my writing seeing me on your computer and listening to my voice. So, you will write grammar exercises, you will read texts and you will practice your speaking with conversation exercises exactly like in a normal face-to-face lesson. I often share my computer screen with you in order to watch some videos together and listen to some audio tracks.
In other words, Italian lessons via Skype are exactly the same lessons I have with students coming to my house.
My students really enjoy this way of learning and I am very pleased to teach Italian this way.

I have taught children (from the age of 4) up to adults (60+).

Tutoring Approach:

Each pupil is approached differently, dependent on their experience, commitment and what they wish to achieve - from relaxed music making, casual lessons, or rigorous work for exams, entry exams, GCSE, A-Level, degrees, concerts or competitions. I currently teach in Central London, Clapham Junction, Notting Hill, Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, as well as in Surrey.

Personal Description:
I currently work for Derbyshire County Council as an 'out of school' tutor in the core subjects and also as a private maths tutor. Personal Description:
Hi there! I`m a young professional drummer based in London. I am an enthusiastic and down to earth educator and have been providing drum tutoring for a number of years to all ages and abilities. I cover a wide range of styles and techniques, providing my students with the best tools to achieve their full potential.

I am happily married to my wife Ruth and love music, motor racing, films and good coffee! Thank you very much for your time.

Teaching Experience:

I received private drum tuition myself for a number of years from an excellent educator. I have been teaching drums to young children, teenagers and adults for over 4 years. I have taught classes at professional music schools, and provided one to one tuition as well. I have lots of experience reading and writing drum music, have been a professional musician for 10 years, and love it!

Tutoring Approach:

I have a thorough and practical approach to teaching. I believe in my students setting their own goals (with some suggestions from me), whilst encouraging and equipping them to achieve their best. I use a very down to earth and open approach to education. I hope to develop an excellent rapport with any student, so they can share their own goals and musical aspirations, so we can work together to achieve them. I am keen for my students to pursue practice in their own time, and provide them with the encouragement and inspiration to make that happen. I aim to build my students confidence greatly on the instrument, and give them a sense of real accomplishment in music.

I recently passed a DBS check for work within a school. I`ve been a member of the musicians union for many years, and can offer a great insight into the world of music through a professional`s eyes.

Personal Description:
DO YOU NEED A TUTOR FOR EXAMS/RE-SIT EXAMS THIS YEAR? LOOK NO FURTHER!

I have been teaching Psychology since 2001 at several of the best performing sixth form colleges in the Greater Manchester area including Holy Cross College and Loreto College. Both colleges were awarded grade 1 by OFSTED.
I am 40 years old, married, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. I gained my degree in Psychology in 2000 and PGCE in 2001. I began teaching for over 15 years of experience teaching Psychology. I also have extensive experience of working with students with a wide range of learning difficulties, particularly dyslexia.

I offer tuition at my home, either at the weekend, weekdays and evenings

Teaching Experience:

I completed my PGCE in 2001. I teach Psychology GCSE, AS and A2 level, and this is therefore my main specialism. I also have extensive experience of working with students with a wide range of learning difficulties, particularly dyslexia.
I have many years' experience of teaching the AQA, OCR & WJEC specifications. I am also an experienced examiner for AQA, OCR and WJEC and have marked most units at GCSE, AS & A2 level.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel that my greatest strengths tutoring are firstly my ability to build sound relationships with parents and pupils. Secondly my skill at gaining a clear understanding of a pupils exact needs, to motivate and build self-esteem, and thirdly my commitment to helping student access teaching materials in order to gain success .

I have successfully taught many students privately on a 1-2-1 basis at home. I have taught a mix of abilities and needs from students with special needs struggling to cope with traditional academic teaching to a Paralympian trying to find time to study while training. I have taught a number of privately educated students with dyslexia who benefited from being shown alternative ways to achieve success.

I have an incredibly strong track record of excellent results at GCSE & A Level Psychology. Marking for the exam board help me focus students learning and tailor their writing styles to achieve a high quality answer in exams.

Growing up as a dyslexic afforded me a unique insight into the importance of developing study skills that are essential in being able to access knowledge & build understanding. Due to being dyslexic I have been fortunate enough to develop strategies within my teaching to help student's who may have difficulties in learning and breaking down barriers to learning which can effect one's self-esteem and contribute to underachievement. I found this to be particularly true of students I have tutored privately both dyslexic and non - dyslexics.

Personal Description:
An approachable and empathetic manager in my former profession as an IT consultant, I am now a qualified English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher who is able to encourage and motivate people to achieve their goals. I am highly organised and enjoy being creative. I make the most of my advanced IT skills to produce materials to meet the learning needs of my students. I have a lifelong enthusiasm for language, culture and meeting new people from all walks of life, to learn and share experiences.

Teaching Experience:

I achieved my Trinity CertTESOL in January 2015. The certification process included teaching both group and individual lessons for a range of abilities from pre-intermediate to advanced. I was thoroughly stimulated by this course and enjoyed it immensely. I am now capable of going into a classroom and producing a well-thought out, appropriate and stimulating lesson that will help students of English to achieve their linguistic aims. In my former career as an IT consultant I coached, trained and mentored junior staff.

Since certification I have been fortunate to be employed by Language Schools in Winchester and Bath and have taught teenagers in multi- and mono-lingual groups. I have also taught English for Special Purposes with individual adults including Legal English and Business English.

Tutoring Approach:

I see the learning experience as a partnership between the teacher and the learner. I particularly enjoy working with an individual learner as I am able to focus on their personal needs and at our first session I will work with you to determine what you would like and need to achieve and to design a programme tailored just for you. In my Trinity CertTESOL course I was awarded an A grade for the needs analysis assignment.

Personal Description:
Masters from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (distinction) and first class English degree from the University of St Andrews. I have experience teaching at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and tutoring Essay Writing, Drama and English. I love working with young and adult learners, helping them to achieve their goals and to enjoy the working process. I specialise in the following areas:

ENGLISH at all levels - I tutor English from primary, through key stages, to higher education levels. I help students get through their exams, enjoy literature, and achieve the grades they need.

WRITING A GOOD ESSAY FOR YOUR DEGREE - Helping students transition from writing school to university level essays in all arts subjects. This is often a difficult leap, and I provide tutoring on structuring essays, citing academic sources and referencing, and clarifying one's argument. I also tutor adult learners returning to studies after a long gap, and undergraduate university students who are adjusting to a postgraduate level of academic writing.

VOICE and PUBLIC SPEAKING - Do you have to give a presentation at work, or does your child need to feel happier speaking up in school? Are you frustrated about being told you are "softly spoken" and would like to project your voice without straining? Through voice exercises, presentation practice and relaxation exercises, I can give you the tools to speak confidently and engagingly (without that crippling fear). I adapt this work to all ages.

ACTING CLASSES and AUDITIONING FOR DRAMA SCHOOL - my acting & performance skills were honed at RADA (a lead drama school) and I use this experience to tutor students who wish to audition. I help them select monologues that suit them, and coach them through the preparation process. I use games, text exercises, movement training and mock auditions to give them the best chance of success. I also teach voice and relaxation techniques to handle nerves on the day.

CREATIVE WRITING - I have training in creative writing, playwriting and dramaturgy. If there is a story you'd like to write I can help you through the process and teach exercises to counter writer's block.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored English for a range of ages, including school students, adult learners and university students from Birkbeck, University of London. I also have experience with M.E / Chronic Fatigue young people working outside of school.

I have been a visiting tutor for the Short Courses department of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, teaching Shakespeare, contemporary text and devising theatre. My other drama tutoring work includes Leuchars Community Drama, Haringey Shed and Notes of Fun.

Tutoring Approach:

My goal is to tutor my students to feel confident in their subject, and rise to the challenge of any exams, auditions or interviews that may come their way in their academic and professional lives.

To achieve this, it is essential to me that students enjoy the tuition process. This encourages them to improve in their chosen field, without feeling forced to wrestle something they hate.

I believe that to enjoy learning, a focused one-on-one approach is essential. As schools and universities have so many students through their doors, they cannot provide full assistance for all. In academic writing and English in particular, too many students fall through the cracks of the main system and lose confidence in their abilities. My job is to prevent that.

I therefore tailor my tutoring to the needs of each individual and discuss thoroughly with them at the start of the process what they want to get out of the sessions, and what difficulties they would like to overcome. All my exercises, games and homework are therefore specifically tailored to meet those needs and revitalise their interest in this subject.
