Personal Description:
I am a German, Greek and EFL tutor, living in South East London. I have a University Degree in German Language and Literature and I am a native Greek speaker. I also have a Qualified Teacher Status from the General Teaching Council for England and Certificate of Proficiency in English from the Michigan University.

Teaching Experience:

I have 8 years of experience teaching both German and Greek in individual classes and in schools. I have prepared students for all kinds of exams and all levels. I have lots of experience with children and adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I plan all my lessons in detail, according to the students needs. I strongly believe, that a good lesson is based on the good relationship between the teacher and the student and I work hard to achieve this. My lessons always include all parts of the language: grammar, speaking, reading and writing. I do very often quick revisions, so as to make sure that my student understands everything, before I move on to other topics.

Personal Description:
Hello - I am a friendly and approachable teacher who is based in Surrey and uses a variety of teaching methods and techniques to help students consolidate their understanding, progress and achieve to the best of their ability. I have taught students of all ages and abilities and have received positive feedback from my students. I believe that questions should never be considered irrelevant or silly and that as each student is an individual, different methods and approaches may be required to aid their understanding. Please feel free to contact me for further information or guidance.

Teaching Experience:

9 Years teaching experience in Secondary schools. I have taught both boys and girls of all ages and also adults. I teach Latin to GCSE level and Classical Civilisation / Ancient History to A-level. I am also able to assist students with study skills, improve their English language skills and have knowledge of other languages such as French and Spanish.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to have an idea of what topics the student has already studied and which text books they are currently working from. The first session will be to find out what areas the student feels they are struggling in and what topics need more focus and consolidation. As each student is an individual, the sessions will be tailored to their unique learning needs and I will help them to gain as much as they can from each session and hopefully improve their understanding, their achievement grades and confidence in their abilities.

Personal Description:
I offer Italian, French and English tuition at all levels, from complete beginners to highers and advanced.

I have a PhD in Modern Languages from La Sapienza University of Rome, Italy (2000), where I studied English as a main subject with French and Italian.

After graduation I spent a long time working in France before relocating to Scotland where I have been teaching Italian, English and French for the past 10 years.

I have students of various age and nationality, both children and adults. I am PVG checked.

I frequently go back to France and Italy in order to keep up-to-date with the language.

Teaching Experience:

University of Aberdeen

Tutoring Approach:

I think that learning a new language is an experience and it should be fun.

I am committed to delivering high quality tuition by offering tailor-made classes to suit different students' needs.

I have experience teaching children and adults one-to-one, one-to-two, and small groups.

I offer flexible hours so my students can arrange the classes according to their needs and availability.

Learning a language is a great opportunity to learn the culture of another country. Therefore, I use different media such as books, online articles and newspapers for reading comprehension, CDs for listening activities and conversation exercises, songs and games for children.

I can prepare for school and university exams and correct written exercises by email at no extra costs.
If you are not sure about your language level, I can assess it during the first class in order to plan a suitable course that suits your needs.

If you are a distance learner at school, college or university I can act as an assessment supervisor for your language tests.

I am enthusiastic for using new technologies to add to the learning experience.

I also offer distance learning tuition through Skype worldwide for all intermediate and advanced learners.

Personal Description:
I am a professional accountant with PTLLS Level 4 teaching qualification, and I deliver excellent, high quality teaching with tremendous motivational effect, and all my students have loved and praised my teaching methods and style. I am passionate about teaching and nothing thrills me more than imparting my knowledge to others. I taught some A Level Accounting students, whose school teachers predicted they would each achieve a grade D, but with my one to one, personal high quality and methodical teaching, they achieved either grade C or above.

Teaching Experience:

From April 2010 to date:

Currently, I provide one to one personal tuition to students taking the following Accounting Examinations:

- AS & A2 Accounting
- ABE (The Association of Business Executives) certificate, diploma & Post-Graduate levels Accounting
- BA Business Accounting
- AAT at all levels
- Business Studies Accounting Modules and
- ACCA Foundation Level Accounting Papers F1, F2 & F3.

April 2010 to March 2012 - Stanfords College UK, Norbury, London and London College of Wimbledon.

I was a freelance, part-time Accounting Lecturer at the above named colleges, teaching ABE (The Association of Business Executives) Introduction to Accounting, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Corporate Finance Papers within the Diploma Levels courses, and ACCA Papers F1 - Accounting in Business, F2 - Management Accounting and F3 - Financial Accounting.

July 2008 to April 2010

I supported a young student who was studying for BA Business Accounting at the university by tutoring her in the Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Analysis and Corporate Finance subjects. As a result, she achieved a 2:1 Grade. It is pertinent to note that the young student did not have any prior knowledge in Accounting. She took A Level Drama, but changed to do Accounting at the university, which makes her achievement much more remarkable.

Tutoring Approach:

In my current role as an Accounts Lecturer, I have adopted a methodical approach to my teaching. The preparation and use of scheme of work, session planning, syllabuses, timetable, lesson notes and handouts helps me in presenting my lessons in an organised and logical manner, and ensuring that the syllabuses are substantially covered. I am confident and positive in my teaching and able to build confidence in the students themselves, which helps in achieving the learning objectives set for each lesson and thereby achieving the overall objectives of the course. I adopt a mixture of pedagogical and andragogical approach to my teaching. I thoroughly explain first to the students, demonstrate a couple of examples, then get the students to demonstrate their understanding, by getting them to do some work themselves.

Personal Description:
Upon leaving the Royal Air Force after an eleven year long career serving as an engineer both at home and overseas, I followed a busy career in Hospitality Management. A chance reading of the local press pointed me in the direction of university. After completing a degree in English, I embarked on a career in teaching - a vocation which took me to the Middle East. Travel is a passion, a result of which was my becoming a published author (2011).

Teaching Experience:

Experienced teacher of English at UK secondary/college level and English as a second language in UK schools and businesses.
Five years' teaching experience at secondary/college level -English, SAT, TOEFL, History, Geography for international schools in the United Arab Emirates.
Adult learning classes - teaching English as a second language for social and business use.

Tutoring Approach:

Understand the reasons that my students want to learn; tailor tutoring to specifically target these aims. Regularly review and revise subject/topic before moving onto the next stage. Ultimately, learning should be fun.

*Tutoring from the tutees home by arrangement, although I prefer to tutor from home.

Personal Description:
My name is George, I am twenty-three years old and am currently working as an auditor and trainee Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales at Deloitte LLP.

I studied French and Spanish at the Russell Group University of Southampton, where I achieved a 2:1 grade (missing a First-Class by 1%) when I graduated in June 2015. During my time at university I spent a year abroad in Alicante, Spain where I studied at the local university and became a fluent Spanish speaker. I have maintained that level of Spanish to date by working on Spanish-speaking clients operating in Latin America as part of my job.

My French ability has declined since university due to lack of practice, though I am still capable of helping with assignments up to A-level standard with tutees.

I have recently completed the Professional Level of examinations with the ICAEW, meaning I am "part-qualified" and have completed 12 out of the 15 exams necessary to qualify. I passed all units comfortably on the first attempt despite conflicting pressures from work and short time-frames allotted to me to study. I have both the exam credentials mentioned here and 18 months (current) experience working as an auditor, which allow me to tutor accounting to a high level.

I enjoy relaxing with my friends, eating out, exploring London (my family is from Manchester area), many kinds of music, videogaming and following the world of rowing. I am generally a relaxed kind of guy to be around, easy to get on with, and pride myself in my ability to "take things easy" and not get stressed.

Teaching Experience:

I have no official previous teaching experience as such, however when I understand something well I have no difficulty explaining it to others in a clear manner.

As a second-year graduate at work I am often tasked with explaining accounting concepts and testing approaches to the first-years, which I have been doing with success for six months.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a relaxed and non-pressuried style of teaching, and will be able to help the student feel at ease. I do not have access to any teaching material unavailable to the public online, so would need the student to have papers/worksheets/textbooks etc from school for us to work on/go through together, or any problems they may be encountering in their minds for us to resolve.

I would not call myself an academic, but my methods have enabled me to reach a good degree-level standard with my languages and to complete my professional accountancy exams relatively comfortably, and I would be more than happy to help others find a way to overcome any issues they may have with their studies.

Personal Description:
A final year MEng Automotive Engineering student at the University of Bath. Friendly and relaxed, looking forward to helping others learn and achieve their goals!

Teaching Experience:

I have no teaching experience yet but have three younger siblings and so have been called upon to help with informal tutoring in the past.

Tutoring Approach:

I will start by asking the student (or parents) to identify the areas in which help is required to make sure your requirements and my abilities match. I will then help the student to complete exercises by his or herself and be available if conceptual help is required. In this way, the student will have the necessary support to be able to work his or her way through a subject and build a good understanding of it.

I can teach violin, theory, GCSE Music and A Level Music. Furthermore I can help students write their personal statements and prepare for Oxbridge interviews.

Teaching Experience:

I have a great deal of experience in violin performance. During sixth form I was a member of the National Youth Chamber Orchestra and the Royal College of Music Junior Department. In my final year at Cranleigh School I performed Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 with the Merriman Concert Orchestra.

At Cambridge I regularly performed in solo recitals at my college. I also played in the Cambridge University Music Society Symphony Orchestra at venues including King's College Chapel, St John's Smith Square and West Road Concert Hall.

Tutoring Approach:

I work closely with my students to help them improve their technique and musical understanding. Above all, I ensure that learning an instrument remains a positive and enjoyable experience.

I am available evenings, most weekends and during the holidays. I can provide assistance to students with existing teachers who require extra attention.

Personal Description:
My name is Christina and I am a native Greek tutor. I have a great interest in the interaction between student-teacher and I always enjoy all the new things that I learn from my students. Generally, I would consider myself as a patient person, pleasant, team worker, with great interest in transmitting Greek language to people who have interest in it.

Teaching Experience:

I have served Primary Education in Greece for 12 years, being allocated to islands and remote places in the north borders of Greece. This experience was invaluable, as I had the opportunity to teach children of all possible family, financial and social backgrounds.
Currently I have the opportunity and the pleasure to work in the Greek School of Glasgow for four years now, teaching Greek as a foreign language to children of all ages and to adult students of all ages!

Tutoring Approach:

As teaching is an amazing, interactive process, the tutoring approach depends on the needs of each one of my students. Normally it includes books, handouts, cd's, role play games, interaction activities, songs, skype sessions and web apps.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate of the English Department at the University of Hull, and I have a PGCE from Leeds Metropolitan University. I have written various academic articles for publication, and I also develop learning programmes which combine the English curriculum with the exploration of local history, events and places. I am currently working on a documentary about Charles Dickens's visits to Hull, and have written a play abput the same subject.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified teacher with a PGCE. I have an Honours degree in English and a Masters with a Distinction in English, I am also working on a doctorate (Phd) in my subject. I have worked in education for more than twelve years. I also offer tutring in Media Studies and Religious Studies, as well as assisteance with literacy, including reading and writing. However, I am not qualified to teach English as a foreign language.

I can teach students from Year Five to degree level. I have taught in schools and in the English Department at the University of Hull. I have also been a marker for English GCSE exam papers. I currently work as a tutor to students taking A' Level and GCSE English. I have had 100% pass rate for both, with students gaining Grade C and upwards.

I work with dyslexic students, and those who are on the autism spectrum. I also work with students who are sitting the English Skills tests for their PGCE. My students include adults, primary school children working towards SATs, GCSE and AS/A2 students, and students who need a general helping hand with their English, and with developing exam skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a student-focused approach to tutoring. Each of my students is given an initial assessment and has an individual learning plan and is set targets. I am happy to repeat exercises and essays where necessary, and to go over information to ensure that the student understands concepts, ideas and exam requirements. I will set homework where necessary, but do not believe that this should interfere with schoolwork, or be excessive and burdensome.
I also believe that regular assessments and tests are essential to ensure that the student is maintaining a good standard of work, and that they are on-target. I am also a firm believer that encouragement and praise should be cornerstones of good teaching.

Personal Description:
I am an undergraduate at the University of Oxford (Exeter college) reading for a BA in Music, and attended the Liverpool Blue Coat School for seven years. I achieved my Advanced level qualifications in 2016 with A* in Music (the first grade of that category in the subject for my school), A* in Maths and A in Chemistry, and I was a member of my school's orchestra, choir, and took part in many other extra curricular musical activities. I am a choral scholar at Exeter college, Oxford, regularly play in orchestras at university and home, and composition is a particular area of interest for me within my degree. I enjoy engaging in philosophical debates and discussing ideas and how they change through history.

Teaching Experience:

I have helped out at my school's open days in the chemistry music and maths departments where I have explained how teaching works, but also taught students myself to help show the type of topics covered. In day to day school I also often end up explaining things in these subjects to enhance people's understanding. I was also a part of Resonate Music Hub and led the youth orchestra there, which entailed peer guidance and for a while I helped out in the younger groups helping to tutor the children on string instruments. In previous years I have tutored children 1 on 1 for the Blue Coat entrance exam, and also have experience working with less able children, and those who need a little more guidance in many subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that one of the best ways to learn and understand important concepts and facts is for the student to lead the reasoning with guidance from the tutor. I will use this approach to ensure that the student fully understands what is being taught but also I am aware that many things require a different approach, involving slower step by step teaching method. I will also cater for students who want to know more about the subject, and I believe my very current A level and degree knowledge can provide information where questions are asked, which I very much encourage. In terms of tutoring for the entrance exam I believe the best way to prepare is to go through practice questions and explain how they work and how to best gain marks. My degree has shaped my writing style so that I can assist students with their essay writing and how to succinctly shape arguments.
