Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified Modern Foreign Languages, EFL and ESOL teacher. I have lived and worked in Germany (for four years in Munich and Augsburg doing aupairing, shop and office work), in Spain (teaching English for four years in Barcelona, Feuerteventura and Sevilla), and England (doing administrative work and teaching, the latter for over 15 years).

I enjoy meeting people of other nationalities and exchanging ideas about different cultures and experiences. In my free time I enjoy taking part in conversation groups in Spanish, German and English, the latter with people of a variety of cultural backgrounds. I also enjoy watching European films and TV programmes both in the languages I know and in ones that I do not. In my quiet time I enjoy reading novels both in English and in Spanish and German. In the future I would like to learn Italian!

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as an EFL teacher since 1994 - teaching both abroad and in England to multi-lingual and monolingual classes. In Spain I taught children from 5 years old and businessmen in company, while in England I have taught children from 12 years old at residential summer schools and adults from 17 to 75 years of age in term time. I have also had some experience in teaching both German and Spanish at secondary schools.

I am currently teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at an FE college in Nottingham. I teach general English with classes in grammar, vocabulary and the four language skills. I also teach Study Skills, Academic English (EAP) and prepare students for IELTS examinations.

I am also experienced in preparing ESOL students for exams from Entry 1 to Level 1 and CAE. In addition, I have taught EAP (Academic English) to pre-sessional students at university.I have taught Spanish, German and English classes to adults and children; the latter to both overseas and British students.

I have given private tuition to adults and children in Spanish, German and EFL. I have also assisted school children with their reading and writing.

Tutoring Approach:

I like small group teaching which allows students to interact with each other but am equally happy to teach on a one-to-one basis. I believe in student centred, active, task based learning.

I am happy to teach in my home or travel to the clients house (for which there would be an additional charge to cover travel costs).

Personal Description:
I am a 49-year-old female, I completed my degree in Applied Computing & Business. I have a Fento Teaching Qualification that allows me to teach children as well as adults, and a Bilingual Assistant & Interpreter Qualification. Previously I have worked in schools as a Bilingual Assistant / Interpreter.

I am very motivated & hardworking as tutoring is my passion. I make learning fun, whilst providing an appropriate, balanced and challenging curriculum to my student. I am well known for achieving great results with all my students as well as having a High Pass Rate on 11+ & Entrance Exams.

Teaching Experience:

I have 16 years of experience in tutoring for Entrance Exams and 11+. I also have over 2 years experience of supporting special needs children as a Bilingual Assistant at a primary school in Stockport. I have worked voluntarily at MGS Boys Junior School in Classes 3 - 6.

I specialise in CEM - MATH'S - VERBAL - NON-VERBAL & ENGLISH, all School Entrance Exams in Greater Manchester and surrounding Areas. Subjects also covered are Preparation and exams for KS1 KS2 and SATs. I am confident in my subjects and in using my skills as I have helped several children achieve great pass results and achieve full scholarship for Grammar Schools & 11+ entrance exams.

My Prices can be seen below.
I do offer a discount for 2-hour sessions and also bulk bookings.
Earlier starting times in holidays are available 9.00am - 7.00pm

Tutoring Approach:

I try to be a role model for my students and help them by building trusting relationships between the student, myself and their Parents. By providing regular feedback, and information in which the student can achieve their goals, and ensuring we work together to help the children achieve their targets.

Greater results are achieved when there is a strong bonding between the tutor, child & Parents. I also appreciate that all children have different needs and learning styles and I tailor my sessions to each child's individuals needs.

Every child understands and works at a different pace & Level, so I explain a topic in a way that makes sense to them rather then the way a teacher would explain. If the child feels relaxed with me, they are more likely to learn something. I do use Digital Media or a Whiteboard if and when needed.

Personal Description:
I have lived in the Virginia Water area for over 20 years and have 2 sons who are now at university. My undergraduate degree was in maths at Aston University and I studied for a PhD at Reading University. Since leaving university I formed and run a computer company for 27 years and have since formed and run 2 successful businesses as Managing Director. I now run my current business on a part-time basis.

Teaching Experience:

I lectured mathematics at Reading University to undergraduates and have tutored many A-level students.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to work with the knowledge students have on a subject and then build from there. With maths it is at times necessary to re-visit the fundamentals - these can be forgotten as time passes. I have a wealth of information sheets and tips covering the various topics on the syllabus and make use of past papers to prepare students for their exams. I like to discover a students strengths and weaknesses early on and believe my experience helps me with that.

I consider myself calm, patient and supportive. Lessons are structured to and tailored to meet the student's needs and include a variety of hands on material and varied learning styles.

Personal Description:
I live in Darlington. I enjoy teaching and enjoy watching students achieve and progress. I feel as a practising teacher I can give students real and useful advice and support.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently in full time employment teaching 11-18 year olds.Within the school Geography is one of the most successful departments. I have been teaching for the last nine years and I am head of achievement (assistant head)I am currently teaching AQA to GCSE and AQA to A level students.I have marked external exams for AQA for the past five this has given me a real insight into exam technique something I am keen to pass onto students. Students would be able to get extra teaching materials from me as well as the added benefits from past exam papers and mark schemes. This will establish exactly what to do to improve grades.

Tutoring Approach:

I often find I need to speak to the student first to establish areas of the subject they find difficult and work on those. Also exam practice is very important for students who want to achieve. I can give half an hour - two hour sessions.
When I tutor online it is done via email as I find skype sessions are wasteful of precious time by the time you read out questions and responses. Using email allows me to give the questions and then offer detailed feedback to the student. Students really enjoy this method as they can complete the work when it suits them.

Personal Description:
My name is Iakovos and I am a qualified (holding QTS) and experienced teacher. I have been teaching Latin, Ancient Greek, Biblical Greek, Modern Greek, History and Religious Education since 2007. I am passionate about teaching and always looking forward to enriching my knowledge; not only in my areas of teaching, but also in other topics.

I also write poetry. Some of my poems have been published in Greek and Cypriot journals and I have also written two volumes of poetry, which have been published by Anazitiseis publishing house in Cyprus, my home country.

Teaching Experience:

I studied Latin and Greek at the University of Ioannina, Greece. The main subjects of my first degree are the following: Latin Language and Literature (like Roman Satire and Cicero), Ancient Greek Language and Literature (like Homer, Tragedy and Comedy), Byzantine Greek, Modern Greek, Philosophy and History.

After my first degree, I decided to continue my studies at a postgraduate level. I did a Master of Arts in Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies. After, I did a Master in Theology, specializing in World Religions, Monasticism and Philosophy. I am currently reading for a PhD at King's College London in Greek and Medical Humanities.

Apart from my long experience as a freelance teacher of Latin and Greek -at all levels: Entry Level, GCSE, A Level-, I also worked as a Latin and Greek teacher in Primary, Secondary and Higher Education in the U.K and other European countries.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an experienced tutor, as I have long experience in teaching 1:1, small groups of students, as well as groups of more than 20 pupils. Working as a language, RE and History tutor and teacher, my methodology is based on PowerPoint presentations, explaining Latin grammar, for example, through a comparison of Latin and English.

I am an expert user of HOTS (Higher-Order Thinking Skills), which challenge students and help them reach their potentials.

Personal Description:
I am someone who has always been drawn to working with children because I am generally passionate about their education and development. I have routinely worked with children in different capacities from volunteering with a SEN playgroup, to working as both a tutor and teacher. I am an easy-going person who finds it easy to relate to families from all walks of life, and take great joy in getting to know people.

Teaching Experience:

I have two years' experience of teaching children of all ages from KS1 all the way up to A-Level. Half of that time was spent working for a private tuition company, while the other half was spent working as a supply teacher. I have also invigilated a number of exams including: 11+ selection tests, internal end of year exams, GCSE exams and A-Level exams.

The benefit of working for both a private tuition company and a school is that I know how to engage with children and young people on a personal level whilst intimately knowing the expectations that their teachers will have. Finally whilst I lack formal teaching qualifications, I have benefited from in-house training sessions and have wealth of experience of educating a number of different groups of children.

Tutoring Approach:

When teaching I tailor my approach to the needs and ability of the child because every child learns differently. I try to get to know my students personally so that I can understand what motivates them to learn and, likewise, what inhibits them. Some children lack confidence, others lack a challenge, some are nervous about exams whilst others couldn't care less about them! Therefore I endeavour to provide a personal learning experience that is going to develop the children I teach both academically and personally.

Personal Description:
I have worked as a part time tutor for the past academic year and during my gap year. After passing the first year of an accelerated Graduate Entry Medicine course with Merit, I am looking forward to entering the clinical years of my degree. I also hold a Bsc in Biological Sciences from the University of Liverpool. Working as a healthcare assistant during my gap year presented me with the opportunity to improve both my listening and communication skills. I hope to not only improve a student's academic success but also their learning style and study skills

Teaching Experience:

PRIVATE TUITION • FROM 2014
I regularly undertake work for Tavistock tutors, as well as taking on my own clients privately. My experience ranges from 11+ and 13+ prep to undergraduate Organic Chemistry tuition. I have also delivered lessons via Skype. I was pleased that one of my recent tutees achieved her goal of grade A at A level.
MEDICINE ENTRANCE COACHING • FROM 2015
A large aspect of my role as a student ambassador for St George's University is advising students on how best to approach the medicine application process. This has included leading mock interviews giving individual feedback to over 30 international students, help writing personal statements and advice on getting the best work experience placements.

Tutoring Approach:

From my own experiences, I understand that school tuition can struggle to tap in to the different ways young people learn, which may mean that they do not reach their true potential. I adapt my teaching style depending on the individual tutee, and try and make the sessions as fun and interactive as possible. I encourage open discussion and focus on conceptual understanding of a subject above rote learning, as I feel this better prepares the tutee for further University education and work.

I currently work as a student ambassador at St George's University (I am reading graduate entry medicine). This role has given me contact with young people who have an interest in the sciences and healthcare, and I have enjoyed being able to teach subjects that I am truly passionate about. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to do this on a one-to-one basis and allows me to develop a relationship with a student over a longer period of time, and have a more lasting impact on their education.

Personal Description:
I'm a PhD student in Artificial Intelligence (Computer Science) at Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I have a Teaching Diploma in Pure Mathematics (2008) and a Master's degree in Computational Mathematics (2014) from Lebanon.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Maths for over 4 years in three different schools in the UAE and Lebanon. I have also tutored more than 70 students of all age groups in the past 10 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that students have different learning styles and interests, that's why I try to teach the way they learn.
I am very patient, and I encourage my students to give their best and trust their abilities. I also attempt to help them develop some interest in the subject I tutor.
I do my best to simplify things as much as possible, and come up with different ways to explain difficult concepts.
