Personal Description:
I have a BSc (First Class Honours) in Psychology from Brunel University (2007), and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Cambridge (2011). I am currently a Psychology lecturer at the University of Bath. My research is mainly in social, health and cognitive psychology, but I also teach research methods (both quantitative and qualitative methodologies), statistics and SPSS, as well as effective academic writing, including dissertations and research projects. In addition, I have sufficient competence in personality (i.e., individual differences) and clinical psychology to be able to teach these at undergraduate level.

More specifically, my research interests are:

- The attitude-behaviour relationship
- Behavioural interventions
- Motivation, cognition, and emotion
- Dual-process models of cognition
- Cognitive dissonance, self-affirmation, and information processing
- Emotional intelligence
- Mindfulness meditation and its cognitive and emotional benefits
- Meta-cognition and self-knowledge
- Persuasion and social influence
- Intelligence and problem-solving
- Body language and communication
- Personal development

Teaching Experience:

I taught psychology to undergraduates at the University of Cambridge from 2008-2011. In addition, I have experience of supervising undergraduates from other universities, including Anglia Ruskin and King's College London. I also supervise BSc and MSc students in their undergraduate research projects, and act as a dissertation supervisor in my department.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to use an interactive approach that encourages active involvement of the tutee. My main goal during tuition sessions is to stimulate an interest in the subject and facilitate independent and critical thinking. This, I believe, allows the tutee to become an independent thinker and to enjoy the learning process, which is rewarding for both parties.

For complete beginners, i have a series of fast-track courses that will give you the basic skills and tools you need to start your journey into the music industry.

I also provide a production, mixing and mastering service whereby clients can participate in the process and gain invaluable knowledge.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced and qualified EFL teacher, living in Sheffield.

I was born and raised in Sheffield, and studied Psychology at Newcastle University. I spent last year teaching English to school children in Vietnam. Before my time in Vietnam, I taught academic English to overseas Masters and Degree students at Newcastle University.

Teaching Experience:

2010-2011 Hanoi, Vietnam: Teaching English to school children (8-16 years old)

2010 Newcastle University, UK: Teaching academic English to overseas Degree and Masters students

2009 Newcastle, UK: Teaching school children (4-15 years old)

Tutoring Approach:

Our first meeting is free. Here we can get to know each other, and you can tell me what you want from the lessons. (Do you want help with your university work / everyday English / pronunciation / reading / listening /.? Do you want any homework? How often do you want to meet? ). After the first meeting, you can decide if you would like to start lessons with me.

I will then prepare some lessons, tailored to your requirements. After the first few lessons, I will identify your strong and weak areas, and you can tell me what you like or don't like about the lessons.

My lessons are relaxed and friendly - it's your time and money, so you should enjoy it!

Personal Description:
I am a recent graduate (2012) of the University of Bristol where I studied Biology and obtained a high 2.1. In addition to my degree, I have studied a wide range of subjects during my time in education, within the humanities and the sciences. The inspirational teaching that I have received is one the mains reasons for my achievement of high grades, as well as enthusiasm for my subjects. I believe I can share this enthusiasm and my knowledge and offer your child the help they require.

Teaching Experience:

Whilst at school I was part of a reading scheme where a group of 10 students visited a nearby primary school. We read to individuals on a 1 on 1 basis and helped them to develop their own reading skills. I have been recently accepted onto the TeachFirst scheme, a two-year teaching placement, which will commence in 2013. To gain the experience I will need for this and the present tutoring I am doing, I have spent a lot of time in my old secondary school shadowing teachers and siting in on classes. I have also been coaching hockey at my local club since I was 16, which has allowed me to develop my communication skills.

Tutoring Approach:

In my opinion, a great tutor is not only one that can engage and animate their pupils, but can also adapt their teaching style to meet the needs of the individual. I hope that not only will I give your child the support they require, but he/she will also enjoy the teaching process.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified English tutor holding a Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)

I have also taught in English Summer Schools and accommodated students from abroad, in my own home, teaching them English and introducing them to English culture by taking them on excursions to places of interest in London and Kent.

During the first lesson I will assess my new student in order to place them at their correct level of English language acquisition. Thereafter, I can provide lessons appropriate to that level, taking into account their idividual learning needs and learning style.
I am very patient and aware of how it feels to be learning a foreign language as I have studied both German and Spanish as an adult. I am also a chemistry prefect and spend 2 of my lunchtimes a week engaging in 1 to 1 and group help sessions for students of any age who need help with their work. I have also completed a 2 week work experience placement in Malvern Primary school, which I thoroughly enjoyed and think helped me learn a lot about working with younger children.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe my past experience has helped me understand that each student has their own needs that I as a teacher needs to cater to. It has also helped me to develop a structured learning plan for each student that should, if followed, lead to success. Having been through the process of an entrance exam to secure my place at Blue Coat, I am well aware of what information students need to know and how they can spend time developing the skills they will need in order to do well. I am an approachable and friendly person who works well with children of all ages.

Personal Description:
I'm a cheerful and 22 year old girl, willing to teach Spanish during this summer.
I am currently studying Medicine in Spain, where I live, but in my free time I like to teach and learn other languages.
I lived in different regions of the country, so you can say that my accent is neutral, and easy to understand.

Teaching Experience:

I started helping some friends to prepare some exams, and they later recommended me to other students, so I've been tutoring since 2010 on interrupted periods .

I've been a language tutor since 2015 focusing my attention on adults. I started with Spanish, adding English ( beginners) to my services.

Despite being insecure at first due to my young age, I feel completly confident now, and I realise that all my students made a remarcable improvement, and that I was helpful for their careers.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm quite flexible and creative, what makes me suitable for children and adults with different backgrounds, interest and ambitions.
I have broad experience working with children, so I know the best way to get their attention.

I am ready to adapt myself to each student, and their preferences . I had some students who only wanted to practice grammar, while others preferred a more complete approach ( vocabulary, writing or listening skills or , grammar).

Personal Description:
I'm a 19 year old girl from Hampshire in England and I am currently studying English at the University of Exeter. I have received 7 A*s and 3 as at GCSEs from Court Moor School, Fleet. Also, I have recently received 3 As at A-Level from The Sixth Form College Farnborough in Mathematics, Biology and English Literature. I read quite often as well as play badminton.

Teaching Experience:

I've taught children at Primary Level in my work experience in Farnborough from the ages of 5 to 11. I've also worked briefly at Kumon as a GCSE tutor and am experienced in A Level subjects (due to finishing recently) so I am able to tutor this.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a relaxed yet methodical approach in terms of helping the child learn for themselves. This means that I will often explain from a textbook and/or examples they have and also let them work out answers for themselves. My aims are to make the child feel confident about their work as well as learn the syllabus but not so that they have shallow knowledge. Understanding is key in terms of what I am to provide for the child. I am also willing to help with exam papers.
