Personal Description:
I am primary school teacher with four years experience. I am extremely passionate about teaching and I try to make all my teaching fun and relevant to the children that I teach. I moved up to Birmingham eight years ago and during that time I have gained in experience in a range of different schools. I love sport and exercise regularly, participating in some 10km runs for charity; I also love to read and I feel that my love of reading is transferred to the children that I teach.

Teaching Experience:

I am a teacher in an inner city primary school who is very enthusiastic and eager to work with children either on a one to one basis or in small groups as this is the aspect of teaching I enjoy immensely. I have been teaching for four years and have experience in both Key Stage 1 and 2. I am currently both the Literacy and Science co-ordinator at my school which means I am accountable for standards within both those subjects across both key stages. I am currently tutoring 3 children in Literacy and Numeracy and also have experience in tuition for common entrance examinations. References can be provided both from my school and the families who I am working with at the moment.

Tutoring Approach:

My hard working and extremely concientious nature makes me a good teacher and I find children relate to me extremely well. Being a current teacher means that I have access to a range of current resources and am very aware of the way children are currently being taught in school and can plan my tutoring sessions accordingly. I do try and make all my lessons fun so that the children want to learn because without that motivation it is extremely difficult to encourage the children to learn to the best of their ability.

Personal Description:
I am a hardworking student currently writing a Masters of Science Dissertation in Marketing at Aston Business School, Birmingham. I have been taught in the British system in English through out my life. I had 4 A's and 5 B's in my GCSE's and an A,B and a C in my A levels. I then went on to do my Undergraduate at Royal Holloway University in Management and secured a Second class. I not only have academic knowledge in the field of Sales, Accounting & Finance, Marketing, Business Studies, Commerce and Business Management but also experience and industry knowledge in the above mentioned areas. Being a student myself I know how to explain things in such a way that students can grasp concepts fairly easily and quickly.

Teaching Experience:

I do not have any formal experience in teaching however I did teach a group of juniors Accounting and Marketing in my undergraduate degree to help them understand some of the topics they found difficult.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style is very flexible and dependant on the students knowledge, abilities and comfort level. It allows an interactive teaching session accomodating and welcoming questions and confusions to be cleared as WE go along. Starting with basics I explain topics that a student is finding difficult to grasp and convey the bulk of knowledge the student needs to know for it and then take questions and help solve problem sets and go over the key points of the topic again.

Personal Description:
I am a very reliable, professsional, yet approachable and down-to-earth character who has never had problems getting on with different people; in fact I really enjoy meeting and working with people from all walks of life! I think that having an affable temperament and approach to tutoring is the most effective way of getting the best results because, as research has shown, students learn better when they are happy, comfortable, and enjoying their learning experience.

Teaching Experience:

From a very young age I found that I was always good at explaining things to people, and therefore tutoring started with simple teaching friends at school who were struggling with certain aspects of various subjects and continued from there. In fact I was heralded as a better teacher than my secondary school Maths teacher by several classmates, who apparently preferred my approach to teaching! Since then I tutored a friend to achieve his Business Studies AVCE, and have tutored several children of family friends on various subjects at GCSE and key stage 3 levels (years 7-9) during my gap year before university. I have since taken a break during my time studying for my degree and am now looking to get back into the profession having now graduated.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that it is vital to be a good listener as a tutor and to adapt your tutoring style and approach to the student. If a more visual approach to learning produces better results for a student than it is important to apply such an approach, and equally for example I will adopt a more conversational style of tutoring for students that prefer more verbal learning techniques. Ultimately, I am a well-rounded tutor who has worked successfully with individuals from various backgrounds and of varying abilities so whatever you are aiming to achieve I can help you to try and achieve it!

Personal Description:
My name's Richard, I am 27 and currently a teacher of science at a secondary school. I'm a very experienced and confident teacher and have also taught many other subjects due to my previous life as a supply teacher. I tend to be well liked by learners of all ages as I insist on mutual respect in the classroom. I'm firm when needs be but by making learning fun and accessible to pupils, I find I rarely need to be. I'm committed to improving not only the learner's educational experience, but also to my own development as a teacher.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach science at Perryfields High School, which is an ever-improving school in Oldbury. We attained the best GCSE results in Sandwell last year and are looking to build upon that success this year. I have spent the last 7 years teaching in a variety of schools and I am also a specialist in working with children with SEN.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring employs a wide array of teaching styles in order to satisfy the different learning needs of the individual. I use a combination of computer based and Internet resources, kinaesthetic activities, discussion based exercises as well as the more traditional "chalk and talk" approach.

Personal Description:
I am married with no children and enjoy teaching very much. I have a range of interests outside of education. I particularly enjoy reading, crafts, swimming, cycling and running. I am interested in conservation and have involved the children at my school in a number of projects, including the development of a school vegetable garden. I think the children I teach would describe me as patient, calm and kind. I believe it is important that children have the opportunity to develop a their own pace and encouraged to find their own particular skills and talents.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in the Primary sector for the last 26 years and have been at my current school for the last 10 years. Most of my experience has been with Foundation Stage/Key stage 1, although I have also taught Key Stage 2 Children. I have experience especially of teaching Year 2 children and so have a good understanding of the requirements for the Key Stage 1 SATS. I have tutored children of this age on a regular basis.

Tutoring Approach:

I always start by assessing the pupil to find the pupils level of attainment and identify strengths and areas for development. I believe it is important to break the learning up into manageable steps and to set targets for the pupil that are easily attainable. By doing so, the pupil develops greater confidence and is more likely to progress further and faster. Depending on the individual needs of the pupil, an individual programme of work can be developed, that will ensure individual learning styles are catered for.

Personal Description:
Hi,

I am a half-French half-British student, currently studying in England for my degree in International Relations. I have lived in France my whole life until I left for university at 17, and speak fluent French and English (bilingual).

I also speak Spanish as i have been studying this language for 10 years and have lived in Madrid last year for one year.

I love to work with people on a one-to-one basis, children and adults alike, and have enjoyed tutoring in the past.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring children since I was 16 in English when i lived in France.
I tutored a GCSE level English student for 6 months in 2008 to pass his French GCSE, which he did with flying colours!
When i was living in Spain, i worked with a tutoring and translation agency and had 6 students from the ages of 6 to 40, which i taught English or French on a weekly basis.

Tutoring Approach:

I very much enjoy teaching as i consider a one-to-one approach more efficient in the learning process for languages.
I am highly flexible in my teaching methods and like to work with the student to find out what they need to work on.
For small children i like to teach with games, songs, and manual activities which will help them to practice their understanding and speaking.
For older children, I usually work with them to understand their needs, and focus on an objective (such as get an A at GCSEs). I use school exercises as well as my own methods.
With adults, i like to listen to the person's needs and discuss with them a method of learning that we agree on together.
I teach anything from conversation, spelling, understanding or grammar.

I am flexible to come to the student's house, although my university times should be taken into consideration. Thanks!

Personal Description:
I have been studying psychology since 1972 when I did my own A levels. I found the subject fascinating and went onto study psychology at university. My first job was working as a residential social worker with delinquent boys which was a very challenging job indeed. I then went on to work as a field social worker and learnt much about the problems people can have. I then decided to go into teaching and did a PGCE teaching course at Birmingham. My first teaching job was at the college where I studied for my own A levels. I have been teaching ever since. I have always been interested in understanding people and I did a Masters Course in Pastoral theology to further my understanding. I am mainly a visual learner and so enjoy presenting work pictorially using a lot of colour. My friends and family say I am a very friendly person, able to listen as well as to communicate clearly. I enjoy teaching large groups but also enjoy teaching on a one-to-one.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching Psychology since 1983. I have experience of teaching both GCSE Psychology and AS and A2 level Psychology. Most of my experience has been with 16 - 19 age range but I have also taught adults in part-time A level classes both in the day-time and in the evening. I have taught mainly the AQA specification A but have recently changed specification to the Edexcel AS and A2 Psychology. I am currently teaching in a very large psychology department at Cadbury 6th Form College in Birmingham for 3 days a week. I have also had experience of working as a private tutor with students on a one-to-one basis, mainly as a response to advertising.

Tutoring Approach:

My experience and knowledge of psychology enables me to make the subject very accessible. I am able to present complex theories and studies in a clear and understandable way. I enjoy an interactive approach to learning, by exploring students questions and things that they find difficult. I have many resources, including booklets that are both full of content and interactive exercises. I also present a lot of work via colourful power-points. I try to make my approach to tutoring very flexible, finding out the areas where students need most help, whether it be in learning, understanding the material, explaining the material in written form, essay skills, revision or exam skills.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate of the University of Birmingham, with a degree in Biological Sciences. I have friendly, and well mannered, as well as taking a professional approach to my work. A bit of a geek, i've always had an interest in Science and Technology, and strive to learn as much as I can about these areas.

Teaching Experience:

I started training as a Science Teacher, yet withdrew myself from the course, 2/3 of the way through, due to an inability to deal with classes full of misbehaving students. I realised that I did not want to spend my life teaching science to those who do not care about it, and so have moved away from offical school teaching.

My skills in teaching, and explaining science are strong, especially to smaller groups of pupils, or on a one to one basis. Combining this with a sound knowledge of the pedagogy (how to teach) of all the scientific disciplines, I am well experienced with a sound knowledge of the school curriculum, and what is expected of students in the work they produce.

Tutoring Approach:

I take students through a topic at a basic level, with a small test to judge their own understanding in the area. From this, we can then work together on where we need to proceed with

Personal Description:
I am a 26 year old Teacher, originally from Cornwall but currently working in Birmingham. Having always had a passion for travel and other cultures I learnt French by staying with a French family from a young age. I have always love the performing arts and have worked with the National Youth Theatre and Crescent Theatre in Birmingham. After University, I fulfilled a personal ambition by working in India with a group of Religious and secular leaders on a project to resolve inter-religious violence issues. Subsequently, I have trained as a Teacher and feel that it is where I belong. In addition to other cultures, I also have a passion for learning about my own, and teaching the English language. I am currently involved in a project taking children's writing and performance into theatres.

Teaching Experience:

During my Russian and French degree at Birmingham University, from 2001-2005, I earnt money tutoring French for Primary aged children. In 2004, I spent a year in Russia, where I taught English to adults and young people at the North West Technical University of St Petersburg. I then spent 6 months tutoring a teenage girl in Moscow in preparation for her exams. Since returning to the UK, I have qualified as both a Primary Teacher and a Secondary French Teacher. I am currently teaching Year 3 children in a Primary School in the Birmingham authority.

Tutoring Approach:

Having always had a passion for teaching, I have chosen to devote my life to life-long education. I am currently teaching Primary aged children but I enjoy teaching across the board. I believe that the most important role of a Teacher is to constantly reflect on your practice so that you learn as much from your students as you teach them. In this way you can constantly improve as an educator. I believe strongly that education is more effective when the student enjoys spending time with their Tutor and therefore, I try to make my lessons enjoyable and creative. All learners have different styles and preferences, I intend always to analyse the student's needs and plan according to their preferred learning styles, while also encouraging them to develop other areas. My role is very much Teacher as facilitator, therefore my lessons would not solely be based on text-book work but would include interactive learning, including ICT based work. I would be pleased to work alongside any children with learning difficulties or English language problems and would do my best to help them on their journey in mainstream education.

Personal Description:
I am ACCA finalist myself, studying final exams at Kaplan financial and working as Accounts Manager for a company in Birmingham.
As, i feel that an accountancy student's results show how strong he is at his accountancy principles, i would first like to mention that i have topped on 4 occasions in ACCA's foundation course CAT.My results were:

Paper T1: 96% (topped)
Paper T2: 88% (topped)
Paper T3: 94% (topped)
Paper T4: 80%
Paper T6: 81% (topped)

I have, on several occasions during my career, taught many students and transferred the knowledge which i gained in last 4 years of my accountancy studies and work experience.

Teaching Experience:

---- 1 year and 6 months ACCA teaching experience at Pakistan's one of leading tuition providers:UCAT
---- Taught over 50 students on an ongoing private basis, with a success rate of 79%
---- Learning teaching skills from high level tutors at Kaplan financial UK
---- Over 1 year and 2 months tutoring experience in UK

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer to satisfy students with the bulk of knowledge i have gained and also to make them apply it practically, because this is how i learnt, and this is how every student should learn, because we work in real world.
Also, my students always say to me that i clear the concept of what i am teaching, so making it easy for them the difficult topics.
