| Personal Description: I am a 22 Year old, Colombian native, which makes me a native Spanish speaker, Colombian Spanish is the best kept Spanish in South America and it doesn't have an accent of any type so is a clean language. Teaching Experience: I have been teaching spanish on a multicultural enviroment, after being on a ship for 3 years that had 200 people from 45 different nations i was able to teach some of the people on board that where interested on knowing more the language. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring Spanish varies depending on the level of knowledge already acquired in school or through other ways. The importance for me is to connect that knoweldge to enhance and develop it through a good balance of practice and theory to make it better, on the other hand if there is not previous knowledge. I ususally start with the basic theory and straight unto practice. |

| Personal Description: I have a BA Hons degree from Trinity College, Dublin in English Studies, a Masters in Modern Literary Studies from Queen's University, Belfast and a doctorate in nineteenth-century literature from Queen's University, Belfast. I also have a TEFL certificate from the International Tefl College of Ireland. Literature and Theatre are my passions and I love to share those with my students in the hope that others will attain the degree of enjoyment, not to mention exam results, that I already have. |
Teaching Experience: I have been a teaching assistant in Queen's University, Belfast for the past two and a half years teaching everything from Beowulf and Chaucer to Kurt Vonnegut and Tennyson. I have also experience as an a-level tutor and taught English in India in a secondary school. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to teaching is one of enthusiasm and engagement. I hope to inculcate an enjoyment of the subject at hand in order to encourage a willingness to learn. However, I am also firm and am resourceful in my efforts to find the best ways to tutor each individual student as I am aware that everyone has different needs and everyone learns in different ways. |

| Personal Description: My name is Ciaran Gibson and I am a student of Japanese and German at the University of Sheffield. I am originally from Belfast, and spend my time there at Christmas, Easter and during the summer vacation. I am very enthusiastic about languages and linguistic development. I have studied German and French coming on 9 years and Japanese for 4 years. I have experience also with Spanish, Chinese Mandarin, Italian, Dutch, Russian and Korean. I plan to become a translator or interpreter once I have finished my current degree and a post-graduate program. |
Teaching Experience: Formally, I have no teaching experience. I have never been in a classroom situation, however I have often tutored friends and fellow students who did not seem to grasp what we were doing in class. I feel that I grasp new grammar points quickly and am able to explain them from several approaches so that a student may understand the language and how it functions. There are some fellow students who I have persistently helped and I feel that I have helped them through exams to achieve their goals in getting closer to attaining their degree. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach would be to introduce basic grammar and build upon that, introducing useful vocabulary and phrases along the way. With GCSE and A-Level tutoring, I would mostly be going over what has been taught in class and explaining any points the tutee may feel uncomfortable with. With those not-so-strong areas, I would encourage the tutee to practice them, all the while not ignoring the other areas of the language. |

| Personal Description: I trained in acting at the GSA Conservatoire, graduating in July 2005. Since then I have worked regularly in film and in theatre. |
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching since I was at drama school for organizations like Stagecoach UK and also on a one-to-one basis to prepare children for exams. |
Tutoring Approach: Tutoring is very important as it gives the student a chance to learn in a much more focused way than learning in a classroom does. It is of course also important especially for younger children that tutoring sessions are enjoyable. I plan every session and take notes at the end so that both I and the student can see how progress is being made. |

| Personal Description: I am a postgraduate student with the School of English at Queen's University, Belfast, currently researching a thesis on modern British and Irish poetry. As a freelance writer I have had feature articles and reviews published by Oxford University Press, the BBC and several Belfast newspapers. |
Teaching Experience: Since 2001, I have tutored A-level (AS and A2) English literature students, two of whom I had previously worked with at GCSE level and was a subject mentor for two years at St. Patrick's Grammar School in Downpatrick. In the past, my teaching has been focused on Shakespeare and twentieth century literature. I have worked for both the School of English and the Widening Participation Unit at Queen's in promoting literature study to secondary level students from around Northern Ireland. |
Tutoring Approach: I have a great enthusiasm for literature and believe quite passionately in it's cultural significance. As such I think it's important to make texts at all times relevant and accessible to the student. As an experienced literature tutor for secondary level, I believe that confident engagement with the text is invaluable. It is my belief that tutorials allow the opportunity to work with set texts in a familiar environment, the home, enabling the student to explore and enhance their own ideas with greater confidence; confidence that is necessary for successful independent study. This frees up the student to think critically and imaginatively about their work and who knows, perhaps even enjoy it. One on one discussions mean greater scrutiny of the tutee's work and methods - it irons out creases- but they are also helpful for busting stress because they provide extra practice at reading texts, and equip the student with the verbal tools necessary to better express their ideas that can be transferred, when the time comes, to writing. |

| Personal Description: I am passionate about three things : research, writing and teaching. The past five years as a doctoral student has allowed me to indulge all three to a greater or lesser degree, but the time has come for me to raise my profile as a teacher. I prefer to work from home, but I am willing to travel within a certain distance as I live in central Belfast with easy access to all major transport networks. Potential clients should be aware that I own two small dogs, but alternative arrangements can be made for students with specific fears or allergies. |
Teaching Experience: I have teaching experience at all levels from Key Stage Three to undergraduate as I hold a secondary teaching qualification and have taught a module on Irish history at Queen's University, Belfast. This experience will be further extended in the coming academic year as I should be teaching two courses of my own devising to adults. In addition, I have provided private tutoring for a student attempting to raise her prospective grade for English Literature GCSE. Having been both a teacher and a student at so many levels gives me an insight into the writing skills required to succeed at exams and coursework for English Literature and humanities subjects across all levels as these skills are both transferable and teachable. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe that tutoring is most effective when tutor and tutee establish a good rapport, and know exactly what they may expect from the other. Therefore, the first session with me will involve establishing the student's strengths and weaknesses and identifying areas that need work. This is done through conversation with both the student and his or her parent/guardian, and, ideally, through a glance at the student's work in the relevant subject. It is also most useful to have access to teacher reports in the subject in question for the year. Once this has been done, I will create a scheme of work to be completed over a set number of weeks that targets the areas highlighted. This will then be agreed with both the student and his or her parent/guardian. |

| Personal Description: Maths and Physics student at Queen's University. Aged 21, looking to add a few more tutees to my books to keep car running while studying. |
Teaching Experience: Have taught several friends' siblings/children Maths and Physics from 11+ to A-Level Further Maths. Currently tutoring two GCSE Maths students. |
Tutoring Approach: When dealing with a specific topic, I mostly work by problem classes, where I go through specific examples of problems step-by-step, making sure each part is thoroughly understood before advancing. If it's to develop understanding of a broader range of topics, I take one or two sessions of clear, individualised theory before attempting problems. I aim to teach to a point where the material is understood, rather than simply memorised and copied back word for word. |

DISCOUNTS available for: Returning students Students committing to a full term upfront Students attending more than once per wee We are committed to making ourselves available to students and/or parents in between sessions by telephone or email to discuss progress, help with short questions about homework, assignments, revision, course material or any other queries which may arise. In the near future we are hoping to expand to offer further subjects and more advanced levels, as well as group workshops. As mature postgraduate and undergraduate students with a family and other work commitments we understand the trials and tribulations of learning only too well and aim to cater specifically to each of our student's individual learning styles and personalities while offering a high level of support to help them achieve their goals. | Personal Description: I am a Mechanical engineer from and currently doing my MSC in Business from University of ulster, Jordanstown. I am living in Belfast and I am really good and appreciated for the way i explain things to the students. |
Teaching Experience: I am a experienced indian tutor with online student base from India, US, Canada and UK. I have been tutoring for last 4 years to students up to college level. Tutoring can be carried out both online and face-to-face |
Tutoring Approach: The approach is very simple... I explain you a thing..if you understand.. i check and make sure you understand. .. if you don't understand.. i change my strategy and i make you understand.. There is no requirement of tests as such when i teach as i make sure that all the stuff is revised as we move forward(not applicable to some special topics for which one has to take test) The approach can be changes as per the students request.. for example if the students just want the answers to the assignment or just solutions or just test etc |

| Personal Description: Hi there. My name is Andria, and I am a postgraduate student at Queen's. I currently specialize in the science side of audio and music technology. I have a university background in engineering, computer science, media, German and English. |
Teaching Experience: I have tutored students in each subject listed above, frequently run study groups within my department, and have experience working with special needs students. |
Tutoring Approach: I firmly believe tutoring should be an interactive process. There is a difference between stating information and explaining it. I am a very visual learner, and tend to tutor in the same way I learn, using diagrams, images, and examples. I also believe that getting someone to learn involves catching and keeping their interest, so I do my best to make the work enjoyable. |
