Personal Description:
I am a senior epidemiologist and Research Lead within a healthcare organisation and I have studied biology, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, parasitology and epidemiology at both under-graduate and post-graduate level. I also have a Master's in Public Health. I am interested primarily in human disease and work on vaccine-preventable diseases, infection and associated Human Papillomavirus-driven cancers. I have taught and lectured to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year undergraduates and to Master's students. I am fairly strict with regards to attention to detail and I believe that it is important to write accurately and in a concise but salient fashion. I am able to read, write and speak fluent French. I love my 2-year old daughter, mountaineering, ultra-marathons and Kettlebells.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a STEM ambassador for West of Scotland for the last 5 years, teaching biology and basic molecular biology, microbiology and immunology to primary and secondary school children.

Honorary lecturing duties at Glasgow University on molecular biology/microbiology/immunology in context of public health.

Module Leader for Outbreak Management and Epidemiology modules for M.Sc. in Infection Control, University of Highlands & Islands

External examiner for MSc in Infection Control, University of Essex (Kaplan).

Tutoring Approach:

Relaxed - it is crucial to see how the student thinks and take it from there. Everybody is different and in order to understand where the difficulties may lie, one must take the time to appraise how the student is thinking and which areas are causing the most problems. Using a number of examples, it can often be revealing to the student when one thinks of a scenario in a different way. However, it is imperative that the student appreciates that the attainment of knowledge and the ability to reason and apply that knowledge comes from drive, enthusiasm and structured revision. After tutoring, I normally arrange for students to meet with my contacts in the field of biology and public health so that they may gain some extra practical experience and/or some work experience before their next career step. I have also tutored students who are at various points on the autism spectrum.

Teaching Experience:

University Lecturer
Private tutor for more than 10 years

Personal Description:
I am a tutor of both Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese. I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and focused professional with exceptional organisational skills. I am from China, but have lived in England for 11 years. I am fluent in English and have English language qualifications.

I worked for Barclays in UK for six year but I much prefer teaching. I find it very rewarding when I see my students learn and grow with my help. This is why I now work full-time as a private tutor.

I am currently teaching several students. They give me great feedback and are very satisfied with the service I offer.

I have worked as an interpreter and translator. I have a UK masters degree in International Business Communication. While working at Barclays I worked in Correspondence and often interpreted

Teaching Experience:

I have taught both grown-ups and kids, one-to-one and in a group.

If you are going to or doing business with Chinese:
I have experience of teaching groups of senior business people in the office. I have been giving great feedback. For example, "I have gained lots of confidence to speak Chinese when I travel to China for business. Liwen is a really encouraging tutor and I have made great progress in a short space of time."

I also have one-to-one lessons with students who are doing business with Chinese or travelling to China frequently.

If you are planning to travel to China for a holiday:
Few of my students learned Chinese before they went to China for holiday. They were very satisfied after my lessons. "Liwen is professional, organised, and patient. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who would like to learn or improve their Chinese. "

If you are parents and wanted your children to learn Chinese:
I have students between 3-7 years old. They really enjoy my lessons. As a mum myself, I understand the need of children.
I am also teaching in the secondary school. There are many enthusiastic students in the class.

More:
I have both Cantonese and Mandarin adult students.

I am very warm, patient, understanding and a great listener.

I have invested in my teaching materials and have some great stuff to help you learn.

I am flexible and can offer lessons on subject matters of interest to the student.

I have taught students who have very different reasons for wanting to learn Mandarin or Cantonese. Some because they have Chinese relations, some because they have a general interest in China. In all cases I have been able to meet my student's needs and they have been very satisfied with what my lessons.

Tutoring Approach:

I think everyone has different learning styles. My aim is to understand the different needs of my students and provide the best teaching methods for them, so they will get the most from my lessons. As I have been in England for over 11 years, I have a deep understanding of the cultural differences between west and east.

I like to share my own personal experiences with my students in order to illuminate a subject.

I make lessons enjoyable and have designed some games and exercises.

I am very passionate about teaching Chinese and love to see my students progress.

Personal Description:
Dear Parent / Student,
My name is Michael.
Now an online tuition specialist.
I am a fully qualified, professional and experienced teacher and tutor of Maths and Physics - to Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE, AS / A2 - Level, as well as considerable experience as an examiner. I have taught and prepared students for medical school and successful Oxford and Cambridge entrance.
I offer tuition from my home in Whitton, either face - to - face tuition or online, or a mixture of the two.
Each of those options can work very well.
I will be happy to refund any referral charge levied by UK Tutors.

Teaching Experience:

With 25 + years of classroom teaching and tutoring across the full ability range from 8 years old to Adult, I am well aware of the common ( as well as the not so common ) misconceptions held by students of Physics and the difficult areas of Maths.

Over the last year I have developed my resources so that I can offer the same top quality tuition ONLINE to students anywhere in the UK and abroad as I can to face - to - face students.

Have you considered ONLINE tuition in Maths or Physics ? You might be pleasantly surprised. The technology these days enables us to have a learning experience which is just as effective as having your own, personal, tutor in a face - to - face meeting. You might like to try a free preliminary meeting online. It's free, so you have nothing to pay, nothing to lose. It just takes 30 minutes of your time.
What I do is to re - create, as closely as possible, the same learning experience as in a face - to - face meeting.

With my current online students (GCSE Maths) after some initial trepidation and months of preparation, I find it's easy to develop the same working relationship with parent and student - as I do in face - to - face, something I was sceptical about - at first, but not any more.

We use Skype for conversation. It's just like talking to parents and student around the same kitchen table! I can still share my qualifications, my certificates, my CRB / DBS, my references, and discuss the student's educational needs, just as I do face - to - face.

We also use and share an interactive online whiteboard, just like a sheet of paper between us, and of course screen - sharing technology to bring our tuition notes to the home of the student.
The student does not have to download anything to his / her computer (just Skype for free).
I use a graphics tablet and stylus to write on the whiteboard, and the student can write on it too.
We try to make the online learning experience and working relationship as similar as possible to the face - to - face experience and relationship.
It is an excellent option when travel distance is a problem OR if you would like sessions that are shorter than an hour.
Please get in touch by email or phone in the first instance.
If I'm unable to take your call please leave a short message and number and I'll return your call promptly.

Tutoring Approach:

Either Online or face - to - face, by discussion with the student I establish the needs of the student.
I collaborate with the student to devise teaching and learning strategies to suit the individual.

I offer top quality tuition - friendly, patient and reliable - to meet the needs of the individual student who wants to improve her / his grades and is prepared to work hard. Whether the student needs help with homework, coursework guidance, specific topics, revision strategies, or exam technique and practice at past exam papers, etc. . . help is available, and the student and parents WILL see improvement.

I am available for tuition during the day as well as after school.

I am based in Whitton, Twickenham. I offer tuition in my own home OR online.

Please discuss your tuition needs with me.

If you would like further details or to discuss your individual learning needs or to arrange a free consultation meeting please contact me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my advert.

Michael.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic native speaker Italian teacher qualified at the Italian Cultural Institute of London with a TIAFL (Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language) certificate. Furthermore, I have attained a Master's degree (Distinction) in Italian Literature at University of Bologna gaining an excellent command of the Italian language and a deep insight into the culture.

Teaching Experience:

During the intensive teacher training course TIAFL 'Teaching Italian as a Foreign language' at the Italian Cultural Institute in London I have taught to students of different levels including complete beginners and intermediate, planning innovative lessons and creating activities with authentic material.
I am currently working with one-to-one tuitions with a more tailored approach adapted to the student's needs and expectations.

Tutoring Approach:

I love involving students into the 'Italian world': natural and artistic heritage, social customs and peculiarities.
In my professional experience as a teacher I have developed a communicative approach able to show short-term improvements in the students' speaking ability and competence.
My lessons are student-centred enabling the tutee to effectively practise the language in an active way.
The interest is stimulated through innovative and engaging activities such as games adapted to language learning as well as audio, video and visual material.
The grammar is instructed through an inductive approach to make the student able to understand the concept within a specific context, and pronunciation is facilitated with a focus on individual phonemes, stress and intonation.
This active and engaging approach is the perfect way to stimulate the students' interest and motivation in learning a new language.

Personal Description:
My name is Michael and I teach private one to one drum kit lessons to people of all ages, in and around the Yorkshire area. I have been playing the drum kit for over 20 years and started playing at the early age of 11. Since then I have been in many bands and performed in many venues in and around the Yorkshire area.
After studying music at school in Scotland and forming my first band I soon found myself addicted to the drum kit. I decided I wanted to further my skills by getting private drum kit lessons which helped me gain my Standard Grade/GCSE and Higher Grade/A-Level in Music. I then furthered this by studying a BTEC in Popular Music at Huddersfield Technical College and a BA (Hons) in Popular Music at the University of Sheffield. I have also recently completed my PGCE in Life Long Learning at the University of Huddersfield and hold QTLS with IfL.

Teaching Experience:

I had my first teaching experience when I was 16 years old at a music workshop during the summer holidays where I was involved in teaching groups of people how to play the drum kit within a band setting. At the end of the workshops each group that had formed had to perform their songs to the public.

Since then I always had a desire to pursue my teaching and in 2006 I started teaching at Rhythm Inc Music Tuition in Barnsley. Initially, I only had a couple of students that I would teach in my spare time between my job and other commitments. However, more students started coming and having only started with a couple I soon had enough to become self-employed and put my all into my teaching.

In 2007 I started teaching at Take 2 Music Academy in Birdwell, Barnsley and at Rockem Music in Rotherham. I have taught at other private music schools and in local schools in the Yorkshire area. I also have experience delivering group workshops within both private and local schools.

Currently, in 2012 I opened my own teaching studio based in Wakefield, and continue to teach at Rhythm Inc Music Tuition in Barnsley, Take 2 Music Academy in Birdwell, Barnsley and at Rockem Music in Rotherham. I have recently completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Lifelong Learning and hold QTLS with IfL (Institute for Learning)

I am fully CRB and DBS checked and currently have a 100% pass rate for students sitting their graded exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons are taught on a one to one basis using two drum kits, one for the student and one for myself. Choice of electric of acoustic drum kits. Lessons are taught at the students own pace and involves practical work.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly, calm and patient teacher with a variety of experience that I am able to bring into my classroom by day, and in tutoring outside of school hours. I have worked with students from primary to university level, as well as tutored adult ESL students during my time living abroad.

As a secondary school teacher, I have high expectations of my students and like to push them to their full potential and keen to inspire confidence and faith in their ability. I thoroughly enjoy working with students one to one when I am able to personally tailor teaching to the learner's level at a pace that suits them. I currently work in a successful 'outstanding' school, therefore, I have a very strong English department where I am able to gain resources and skills I can bring to my tutees.

I am passionate about inspiring confidence and belief, and love exploring my subject with others; opening their minds to alternative approaches and guiding the way. I use a lot of humour in my lessons and like to create a calm, relaxed and enjoyable environment and get to know my students as individuals. Having spent much time with a personal tutor at GCSE to overcome my fear of Mathematics as a teenager, I have a personal understanding of the empathy and patience required by a tutor, as well as a passion to enable my tutees to reach their goals and develop confidence in themselves.

Teaching Experience:

After graduating from Roehampton University with a 2:1 in English Literature and Theatre Studies, I went on to work as a Teaching Assistant in SEN working with students with a range of needs, but focused on teaching students with Dyslexia/Dyspraxia, which then became my research focus for one of my assignments during my PGCE teacher training.

I have since taught in a wide range of schools; I left Britain to work abroad in an IB international boarding school, PTIS Chiang Mai, as a Boarding Houseparent and ESL/SEN teacher, as well as tutoring seniors completing their final IB projects. In the evenings, my responsibilities included tutoring boarders aged 9 - 19 for all subjects. After my one year internship, I taught in a British international school for two years, Varee International Chiang Mai, where I taught KS3/4 IGCSE English and SEN and was lead assessor for entrance tests for ESLstudents. I also tutored adult Thai learners English outside of my school hours as part of a language exchange to help me to develop my Thai.

Since returning to the UK, I have taught KS3/4 History and Geography, and now KS3 - KS4 English in an outstanding secondary academy in West London.
I am a flexible teacher in terms of subjects covered, but English/literature, grammar, ESL and study skills are my core areas.

Tutoring Approach:

When I first meet a new student, I conduct an initial assessment to be able to adapt my lessons to the individual needs of the student.
I have very high expectations of my students, so push when they feel like 'giving up', but practise compassion when they need support and encouragement. With confidence and patience, they can find a way.
I may on occasion set small homework tasks (if the student does not have too much with their school already) to continue learning between sessions. I will often ask a student to e-mail this to me before our next session so I can give feedback and work on mistakes for our next session, thus maximising learning in our short sessions.
I have a fun approach to my teaching as this is vital to engage young learners, as well as for my own enjoyment of sharing my passion for my subject.

I am a PhD-qualified biologist and mathematician and a specialist science/maths coach.

I offer one-to-one coaching in:
* Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science to GCSE
* Biology and Mathematics to AS and A2
* professional numeracy for adult learners
* Undergraduate support and report writing
* Preparation for skills tests such as QTS, BMAT and drug calculations for NHS and NMPs.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring part-time for a number of years, with my 10+ years as a research scientist giving me a unique perspective on science and mathematics (and the overlap between them).

Tutoring Approach:

I simply aim to build confidence while covering topics in as much detail as required.

I really enjoy helping students of all ages to understand tricky concepts, and coaching those sitting exams towards the highest grades possible.

I am also a published, award-winning science writer, with a wealth of experience in science communication and editing undergraduate and postgraduate essays and reports.

I tutor from my home in Woolton village, and have a full CRB check available to view on request. I normally visit new students/families for an initial meeting lasting about half an hour.

Personal Description:
I am a Spanish woman from Barcelona who studied Hispanic Studies. I have been living in Bristol for 1 year and 8 months. I finished my degree in 2014, I completed my last year at the University of Bristol with a Erasmus Scolarship. The scolarship gave me the opportunity to come to the UK and improve my English.

Teaching Experience:

I do not have too much experience as a teacher due to I have obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Hispanic Studies in 2014. But I used to teach Spanish in Spain to some children who needed to get better grades in this subject and I currently teach Spanish in a Secondary School to a group of English students who are going to take the A level Exam in May.

Tutoring Approach:

I am interested in focusing my lessons on the Speaking skills. I think that comunication is the most important part for those students who are learning a foreign language and want to speak with people using this language. At the same time, I got my Honors in Grammar and Linguistics, and I like teaching Grammar because, obviously, the students need to learn a basic knowledge of how the new language works to be able to speak properly. If my students are children I show them the Grammar part playing games to make them enjoy and learn at the same time.

Personal Description:
I am a 23 year old Corporate Law student studying a Masters degree in the University of Leeds. I am half Greek half irish giving me the benefit of knowing Greek and English fluently. I grew up in Greece and attended a greek school and later graduated with a law Bachelor Degree from the university of huddersfield in west Yorkshire, United kingdom. I have worked in a day care before giving me the experience of helping children and taking care of them. I also enjoy learning and teaching new things.

Teaching Experience:

My experience with teaching is not as extensive as i would like. Nevertheless, i have worked in a day care which had ages from 3 to 10 years old and i was responsible of taking care of the children's needs. My mother is also an English teacher and i have learned many tricks and tips to teach children in an effective manner.

Tutoring Approach:

My personal approach to tutoring regarding Greek would be to let the child/adult know that i do not speak english very well (although i am fluent at it), therefore obliging the child/adult to try his/her best to speak in Greek in order to explain things. Lessons will be fun and homework will be given based on the child's/adult's available time and goals. As for Law tutoring will be based on conversation, cases and debates which will challenge both the student and tutor.
