Personal Description:
I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2001 with a 2:1 in French Studies. During my 3rd year I lived in Montreal where I studied French, Spanish and Italian at McGill University. After graduating I qualified as a Teacher of English as a Second Language and spent the next few years Teaching English in the UK and Paris as well as travelling to Spain where I lived for three months.
In 2004 to 2005 I took a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish) at The University of Bath. From 2005 to 2006 I taught in a variety of Primary and Secondary Schools before taking a permanent post at Matravers School in Wiltshire where I worked for five years, gaining internal promotion to Second in Department in 2010. During my time at the school I taught classes from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 (ages 11-18) and prepared students for both GCSE and AS Level Exams, getting good results as can be testified in my reference.
I also lead trips to both Paris and Barcelona to give students a taste of life in these countries and an opportunity to practise their language skills in real life situations.
Since 2011 I have been working as a freelance Language Tutor and Translator as well as completing Teaching contracts with reputable language schools Kaplan International and OISE in central London. I also work for AQA marking French GCSE Writing Papers. I am currently studying for a Masters Degree in Technical and Specialised Translation at The University of Westminster in Central London.

Teaching Experience:

I have five years experience of teaching French and Spanish in Secondary School and an additional two years teaching English as a Second Language. I also work as an examiner for both the Edexcel and AQA exam boards marking the French GCSE Writing Component. I have been working as a private tutor for two years.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe a positive working relationship between tutor and student is the cornerstone of successful learning. I aim to make my students feel at ease and safe to take risks and build their confidence which in turn lead to learning success. I tailor-make lessons to each individual student's learning needs and preferences so that the student is always at the centre of the learning process. I use a range of materials in my teaching including online resources, worksheets, games, speaking activities and past exam papers where appropriate.

Personal Description:
With a high first class degree in Physics from the University of York, for over three years now I have given tuition in Mathematics and Physics for all qualifications up to and including A Level as well as the Sciences to GCSE.

Teaching Experience:

After various school placements, including teaching in St Aidan's Harrogate (ranked among the highest achieving comprehensive schools in the country), I have helped a multitude of pupils ranging from as young as 8 through to mature students. I have experience of teaching AQA, Edexcel and OCR board syllabuses including IGCSE as well as Pre-U. I am happy to offer tuition for all other syllabuses as well, for example WJEC, the International Baccalaureate (IB) and for free-standing maths qualifications.
Additionally, I offer tuition to adults wanting to improve their maths understanding and skills, for example to help with their career or to pass QTS skills tests etc.
Students and parents have offered positive feedback from the results attained after my tuition including a great improvement in their grade and confidence. For example, a student's grade in A Level Physics improved from originally an E to an A after my tuition, while others attend their preferred schools after help with revision for their entrance exams.
I have helped several students with Asperger Syndrome, those with dyslexia and students who are home-schooled or had to move school due to behavioural difficulties or medical conditions. Additionally, I have had training for and taught students who did not live with their biological parents.

Tutoring Approach:

I find I can relate to students in a calm and patient manner and I have enjoyed helping them through difficulties with their subjects. I endeavour to find and solve the problems students have in their understanding to give them a firmer grasp of the topic, with the benefits from this being increased confidence and improved results.

Personal Description:
I'm an undergraduate student in my second year at Brasenose College, Oxford, currently reading Maths and Philosophy. I have A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, English Lit and History.

Teaching Experience:

During term time I volunteer with the Oxford-based charity Jacari on a weekly basis, through which I give English lessons to a child who speaks English as a second language. During my A levels, I worked regularly with a GCSE maths class.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm fairly flexible in my approach to tutoring, as I feel it's important to be able to adapt to suit the needs of different students. The most important thing to remember when tutoring (particularly when tutoring maths or sciences) is to help pupils properly understand the topics they're studying rather than just making them learn things by rote, as this will enable them to attack new problems when they come across them (and also hopefully foster a greater appreciation of the subject).

I am an LSE Economics BSc (Hons) Graduate and am currently pursuing an MSc in Management at London Business School. Upon graduation I will be joining McKinsey & Company as a Business Analyst.

Teaching Experience:

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that the understanding and grasping of concepts is the single most valuable thing a good tutor can provide to his or her students. This is my focus. I guarantee the utmost quality and preparation for each lesson and, for any willing student, the best results given the time period and student's starting point. I am happy to offer a discount on student's first lessons to trial my tutoring approach.

After our time there we moved to Edinburgh, where I worked at a top boarding school and tutored privately again.

Personal Description:
I am very enthusiastic and friendly, with my brilliant linguistic and social competence being exemplified by my knowledge of five different languages. Due to my exceptional academic background and love of children, I would be excellent at helping your child excel in the subjects which they need help with. I am happy to travel to all parts of London, so please do not hesitate to contact me/ request an informal interview, as I understand the importance of finding some-one who is respectful and reliable to perform this role.

I have been offered to do a Masters at the University of Oxford, in Language Sciences, on full funding.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently teaching 18 students ranging from the ages 5-19 years, but I would be happy to accommodate for any ages. I tutor Latin, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English, and have am currently studying at UCL, the 4th best university in the world.
I normally tutor for 1 hour per session for only 15-20, which is a humble amount considering my qualifications; I would like to hope that most children can have access to private tuition, not just those who can afford the help.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries; I would be delighted to provide references upon request to exemplify how satisfied parents are with my communication skills, motivation and the success that their children are achieving.
If you are keen to simply learn the English language to a more coherent level, I would also be glad to help.
I prepare older students predominantly for G.C.S.E, advanced subsidiary/advanced level (A level) and international baccalaureate.

Tutoring Approach:

I am open to helping people achieve any level which they desire, and assess/ approach each pupil's learning on the basis of their individual ability, as opposed to using the same materials for all of my students. This way I can ensure that I can target the specific needs of the pupil, which is why you will see them excel in their subject very rapidly! I also find that a tutor's enthusiasm for the subject is mandatory; many pupils that are failing/ unmotivated in their subjects because they have not had the right support and enthusiasm from subject teachers in their academic environments. In short, I believe that if the tutor genuinely cares, then the student will grow to also.

Personal Description:
I recently finished a 2 year course at Greenhead Sixth-Form College and am currently taking a BA in English at the University of Oxford. English Literature, History, Mathematics and Physics were my chosen subjects; I dropped Physics in the second year. Voted by The Times as number 1 sixth-form state college, Greenhead was a challenge. Through hard work, I achieved highly (as shown by my qualifications). My first year at Oxford University has come to a close: I achieved a 2.1. I am calm and polite, unpretentious and enthusiastic, consistent and professional in behaviour, but always friendly and never clinical.

Teaching Experience:

At Greenhead I volunteered to help students, especially in Maths and English, and I often voluntarily read with school children at Lightcliffe Primary. I have only recently decided to tutor, but have a past immersed in education (both my parents are teachers).

Tutoring Approach:

I understand the value of your education and the importance of a personalised approach to learning. I advocate a focused, disciplined education, but understand how to motivate younger, or less mature tutees. I know my fields well and keep up to date in current advances - anything I need to learn, I will, swiftly and with pleasure. I am extremely perceptive, able to quickly and effectively identify how a tutee learns best. Having recently left education myself, I can sympathise with those currently part of it. This, I believe, is a huge advantage - as one recently taught, I know what is an effective, modern way of teaching. Above all, I simply enjoy the rewards of good tutoring: watching a tutee grow and thrive. In little other professions is such a reward possible, and this, ultimately, is why I am so dedicated to spending every second required to make your tutoring a success.

Either if you're planning a holiday to Italy, are simply passionate about the language or need to prepare for an exam, all my knowledge will be at your service! :)

Teaching Experience:

I come from a family of teachers! While I was in Italy I taught English to many people on a regular basis. Apart from that I have always taught English to foreign students ( it' around 5 years now! ):this has improved my deep understanding of grammar...so that common mistakes can be avoided.
I also taught Italian for 4 years now, I do translations for newspapers, magazines and books on a daily basis.
I have a broad field of experience in:
-Tourism
-Art & History
-Economy
-Finance
-Medicine

So if you're inspiring to learn or improve your language for your job, you've definitely come to the right place!

Last but not least, I will ensure whatever your level is you will be able to speak and understand the language as never before! I'm aiming to do that in the shortest time possible as your time is very important. :)

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to consider each student as unique and aim to understand their goals and ambitions as well as optimizing my teaching method to suit their individual needs.

I believe that an important part of learning a new language is to understand and embrace the culture as well.

I usually start my program with a short test to check "Your Learning Method" (this test is applied in the most famous and important schools of language all around the world)

Everybody is different! :) there are people who learn with games, others who learn just listening, others who love writing to remember and people who learn visualizing or listening to music.... Whichever your method is, let's learn with fun!

Each Student will benefit from a Personalized learning plan.

Personal Description:
Trained as an architect,I moved swiftly into the world of film and commercials as a set designer, starting at the BBC and moving into the freelance world working on a variety of projects as a Set Designer and Stylist.Drawing and image making has always been central to my art and design .
In film I collaborated with a variety of creatives including directors ,lighting, costume, makeup, special effects designers, which is enriching and inspirational. Then I began to paint for other designers on their projects and my artwork became a larger part of my work.
Now I work mainly from my studio in Wimbledon on commissions ( including painting ) for films & interiors, portrait commissions and my own personal projects in between tutoring.Drawing, painting, photoshop, collage, photography and model making are used in many of my projects.
I am passionate about the visual world, creating and sharing my skills and experience, carefully designing my sessions to respond to the students requirements, whilst making the experience enjoyable and rewarding.

Teaching Experience:

For many years I found students gravitating to my studio for advise, inspiration and teaching. I was then invited to be a visiting artist at a school in Kingston and began taking workshops for groups of varying age groups and abilities.
I have designed and run workshops for 'Gifted and Talented Children' and have recently been invited to devise workshops for the V&A.Recently I devised and supervised a project for a final year textile design student at Manchester University to work on a project with a working designer .The students I work with at the moment age from 6years to adults. From Scholarship Applications to students needing help with university projects to students wanting to improve their visual and practical skills.
My City & Guilds course for Delivering Learning enabled me to carefully design the projects to suit the students and their individual requirements.

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about the visual world and how it can enrich our lives in so many ways.
My aim is to tailor my sessions to encourage my students to develop their talents and make it an inspirational and enjoyable experience. The important thing is to get to know my student, help them gain confidence to allow their creativity to flourish.

Personal Description:
Hi there!

My name's Imdad, and I'm currently a Ph.D. student at Trinity College, Cambridge, studying Quantum Computing (Theoretical Physics). I completed my undergraduate degree also in Cambridge in 2012, gaining a First.

Since I was young, I've been fascinated by physics and maths, and I'd love to share my enthusiasm for those subjects with everyone!

Music is another big passion of mine, and I play quite a few instruments - French Horn, Piano, Recorder, Violin, Trumpet, mostly to Grade 8 level. In addition, I'm happy to teach Music Theory up to Grade 8 level. Music has been my biggest extra-curricular activity during my study at university, and I'm currently the President of the Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra.

I love computers and programming - I've been writing apps for smartphones! I've developed several websites.

I'm well known for the way I teach and get difficult ideas across to people - if you're stuck on Physics or Maths, you won't be much longer!

Teaching Experience:

I've been teaching for many years, both tutoring and teaching in classes. I have tutored students for 11+ exams, helped with GCSE and A Level work, and I currently have students whom I supervise for Mathematics and Physics university courses.

Tutoring Approach:

I pride myself on my ability to explain things in ways that help students grasp the underlying principles of the subject. In my experience, if these basics are understood, a good intuition for the rest of the subject develops very quickly and naturally. I find that GCSEs and A Levels focus much too strongly on teaching a few methods - and a lot of the time, the students find they have no true understanding of the subject, and I do my best to remedy this.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Jared, an enthusiastic 22 year old recent graduate with a first class degree in Biomedicine. I have been learning biology and life sciences for the past 10 years and hope to continue when I start a neuroscience masters. Having not stopped starting secondary school I am educated in all three sciences including maths up to GCSE level, chemistry and maths up to AS level and Biology to A level, and am confident at providing tuition in all of these areas.

Currently I am going over A level maths and chemistry and wouldn't hesitate to provide tutoring in these areas if needed. Additionally I am on the receiving end of tuition, having started learning German and am looking at starting BSL lessons in the near future.

Based in the Basildon area, I am able to travel within the local area using either my quick set of legs, my somewhat rusty mountain bike or good old public transport. I am free throughout the daytime at both weekdays and weekends, however my weekdays are likely to be filled soon, but evening tuition is not a problem

Teaching Experience:

Previously I have mentored several students who struggled with their GCSE maths and science and required the necessary C grades to gain entry into College. Whilst at university I helped local A level biology and/or chemistry students gain top grades by filling in any gaps in their knowledge and clarifying parts of the curricula they were not confident with.

Job wise, I am pursuing a teaching assistant position and currently volunteer in a local school science department, where I help prepare for science lessons and assist in demonstrations. As a result I am still in the know how regarding exam boards curriculum

Tutoring Approach:

My approach focusses on restoring confidence and making sure students maintain high expectations. I find exposure to exam papers, although thankfully not in such strict conditions, is incredibly effective in preparing students for their exams and helps overcome those pesky exam fears. Knowing the curricula is great by marks on exam papers matter, and it is a great feeling to know that when you sit the exam you know what to expect and how to answer correctly.

As science is a visual subject I try to add as many practical and integrative elements to my tutoring, which I find makes the subject matter much more memorable and less dry.

I am open to tutoring/answering any questions via skype/email/phone.

Personal Description:
I've just finished a degree in Film and TV in one of the best Universities in Spain (University of Navarra). I've moved to the UK in July 2014 because I was offered to work as an intern in a modest production company in Marlow, in Buckinghamshire. Since October, I've been living in London studying english so I can pass the exam that will allow me to go to an english University next September.

Teaching Experience:

This would be the first time that I'll be teaching spanish to a kid. Although I've been working for the past month with a little girl. But I can assure that the kids will learn as my classes will not be about studying but about having fun with craft, making recipes, playing games and more.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm a hard-working, trustworthy person that loves to play with kids. My teaching methods will be dynamic, practising essentially with the dialogue and not only with theory. The kids will be learning without even noticing. We'll play games, making recipes, etc.
