Personal Description:
I am very patient in my approach and ensure that my students fully understand the topic.

I believe that it is vital to be a good listener as a tutor and to adapt your tutoring style and approach to the student, as everyone learns in different ways and what works for one may not work for another. Therefore my approach to teaching is to be flexible and to adapt my tutoring style according to what is best for each student.

Teaching Experience:

From my career history I showed that I have people skills, that I can work well with other people.

I used to teach Italian students aged between 12- 35 for one year while I was running my university degree.

I am Romanian mother tongue, but I moved to Italy at the age of 19 to start university in Turin, and after I finished my BA in foreign languages German - English I moved to London. So moving abroad (Italy, United Kingdom) I was able to face many obstacles and manage to achieve my goals.
Being a teacher means being a professional. My professional appearance will let the students know that I take the job seriously and that I am responsible.
Living in a new country United Kingdom, Italy, I am used to find myself in unexpected situations and to be flexible.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach varies depending on the student's needs and learning style.
I prefer focusing on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student's understanding and technique. Where appropriate I set and mark work, giving students detailed feedback so that they can improve quickly.
I use questions and homework to check understanding continually.

Personal Description:
I studied music at Hertford College, Oxford, where I sang as a choral scholar. I now work in music as a conductor, singer, pianist and teacher. I conduct the Harpenden-based Lea Singers and the Solis Ensemble, and sing with the choir of St Albans Cathedral. I am employed as an accompanist by Portland Place School, London, and regularly accompany ABRSM and school music exams.

I am able to teach piano, theory and aural skills. I teach music GCSE and A' Level, either independently or as back-up to school classes.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught piano, theory and musicianship for many years. My experience at Portland Place School has taught me various approaches to working with younger students. My current range of teaching includes children and teenage piano students, GCSE and A' level tuition for various exam boards, and adult musicianship.

I have personal experience of dealing with children with ADHD and related concentration difficulties.

Tutoring Approach:

For piano students I make it a priority to identify what music excites and inspires the student to practise. This way there is always a balance between hard work, a challenge, and enjoyment. I try to be flexible and cater to each student's tastes and needs, always with the background aim of advancing his or her technical ability and musicianship.

Tutoring is especially useful if a student is finding classroom teaching insufficient or unfulfilling. In one-to-one sessions individual problems can be identified and addressed with a more personalized approach than is possible in a classroom environment. For those who are no longer enjoying the subject, I try to reach the source of the disinterest. For those who are wanting a greater challenge than they are currently being offered, I develop exercises to push beyond the constraints of the curriculum. My emphasis is always on developing holistically as a musician.

Personal Description:
I'm a 24 year old from New Zealand who has recently moved to Scotland.

I love watching sport (especially Football and Cricket!), reading literature, cooking, watching good movies and going out for a beer with my friends.

I am an open, approachable and relaxed person who works hard at what I do but enjoys a good laugh too.

Teaching Experience:

I have been an English teacher for over two years now. Immediately after completing my CELTA Qualification in Auckland New Zealand , I became an English Language Teacher at a highly-rated Private Language School there.

In my role as a Teacher at that School I taught every area of English Language at almost every level, from Absolute Beginner to Upper-Intermediate.

- My morning classes covered Grammar in detail, skills and vocabulary.
- My first afternoon class incorporated the skills in more detail, often with creative projects, and vocabulary.
- I also taught a second afternoon class which focused solely on Speaking skills: Pronunciation, Fluency and Functional language.

More recently, after moving to Scotland, I taught in a four week Summer School Program in St Andrews. In this role I taught communication skills to large classes of Italian teenagers.

I have enjoyed all aspects of my job and thoroughly enjoy being a teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a reasonably open approach to teaching.

I always find that it is very rewarding to ask my student(s) what THEY want to focus on/improve on/learn.
I do this because a) It makes the lessons much more enjoyable and profitable for the student
and b ) It gives me a good idea about how the student likes to learn and how they would like to be taught

I am very creative as a teacher and so can take basic ideas/topics/grammar points and make my own lessons and worksheets based on them, adapting them to the students wants and needs.

I am very methodical as a person and teacher, and therefore always try to make everything I teach and present to my students as clear and comprehensive as I can.

I like my students to work hard but am a relaxed and open teacher who will take a break, slow down or simplify the lesson if I feel my student needs it. I love learning and chatting about my students' cultures and ideals.

Personal Description:
I am a Malaysian student currently studying BSc Mathematics with Statistics at Imperial College London. I did Cambridge A-levels with results: Mathematics A*, Further Mathematics A*, Physics A*, Economics A, Thinking Skills A and understand every topics very well. I did my Cambridge O-levels in Singapore a few in 2009 with 10 A's including Math, Add-Math, Physics, Chemistry, Chinese, Higher Chinese, English, Art, Geography and Social Studies.

My first language is English, I am also extremely fluent in written and spoken Mandarin, Malay, Hokkien and understand basic Cantonese, French.

My understanding of mathematics is fuelled by self-interest since young;started taking part in Mathematical Olympiads at the age of 9, I constantly represented my school and country for mathematics competitions. I was offered many scholarships by the Singaporean government, private institutions and private firms to study due to my achievements. I won Silver, Bronze medals for various Mathematical Olympiads; Gold Medals for Canadian Euclid Math competition; 7 High Distinctions from Australian Math Competitions, New South Wales Math Competition etc.

I am very confident that I can help tutees meet their goals.

Teaching Experience:

2 years experience in teaching Mathematics, Further Mathematics for Cambridge A-levels.
2-3 years experience in teaching Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and Physics for O-levels.
2 months experience in teaching kids aged 7-12 in a private mental arithmetic centre.

Tutoring Approach:

I always believe students tend to lose focus in class or forget what was taught because:
1) Peers.
2) Lecturers teaching too quickly, assuming everyone has similar absorption capacity, or that everyone has their experience.
3) They know 'how to do it' but they don't understand the concept behind it.

Hence, I would prefer classes to be carried out in small groups, or ideally, one to one. Also, I will teach students from a viewpoint of a student rather than that of an expert, unless students show great potential or interest, I will then introduce challenging questions and concepts. I will explain every formulae that is in syllabus briefly so that students first understand how does the formulae work, which will help them a lot in remembering and when to apply them (from past experience).

A small test will be carried out to judge students' level at the first lesson, I will then have a small chat with them to understand which parts they're weak in, what kind of problems they usually face, what their requirements or aims are to ensure we get on track towards the correct direction

Personal Description:
I am a native speaker French and a qualified teacher. I have studied in France, Spain and England. With my husband and three children of 10, 15 and 16 we have lived in Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands before moving to England last summer. With such an international life I have changed my career to become a qualified teacher in French and Spanish. As I've always loved languages, it was a very logical step. I am a very enthusiastic and creative teacher who focus on results and communication.

Teaching Experience:

For the last 6 years I have been working with children as well as adults. I have worked at different schools (primary, secondary and professional level). I have taught pupils with a wide range of capabilities, among them highly gifted children (7 to 11 year olds) as well as dyslectics pupils (11 to 18 year olds).
I also have been teaching adults (from beginners to advanced) in companies or at the Alliance Française as well as in private or group tuition.
I have given workshops about interactive ways of learning and developed didactic material for different levels.

Tutoring Approach:

Depending on your learning objectives, I will tailor-make the course. My goal is for you to be able to communicate.
I use up to date didactic forms of teaching according to your needs. I will teach you in an interactive way and you will speak a lot with the right pronunciation or intonation right from the beginning
Furthermore three years ago I became examiner for international French exams (DELF/DALF). I can prepare you for exams based on the Common European Common Frame of Reference (GCSE, A Level, DELF, DALF). Exercises will include grammar, writing, reading and speaking exercises, authentic audio material for listening and culture.

Personal Description:
I have been building websites for around 8 years, I have a very varied knowledge of website development and design, I am currently at christ church university as a student in graphics / web design which includes lots of different areas of design from typography to theory.

Teaching Experience:

I have had no official teaching experience but I have taught people how to code websites and build websites from scratch in the past, most the people I have taught are able to buld a pretty decent website on their own within 6 months of a couple of hours a week lessons.

Tutoring Approach:

In design and website development its about repeating steps and making sure that you come across as many issues as possible to give you the ability to fix those issues without too much trouble, its about lateral and logical thinking, planning and effort.

If you have never built your own website you might find the coding pretty confusing but I try to make it easy for you by association, for example within html there is a tag called img, most you you can see exactly what that says but for those that dont it is a tag to include an image so if I were to typ in < img src="images/myimage.jpg", you are saying this is the source or the place where my image is located in my files.

Most importantly I will initally find out what if any knowledge of html or design you have already, I will also see if you have any experience in professional editing programs like photoshop, after effects, illustrator or even dreamweaver, most who are interested in digital design on any level have at least heard of some of those.
