Personal Description:
I have seen students` confidence in their abilities increases and their understanding deepens. Both students and parents have offered positive feedback from the great improvement in their grade as a result of my tuition. For example, a student`s grade in A Level Physics improved from originally an E to an A after my tuition, while others attend their preferred schools after help revision for their entrance exams.

Teaching Experience:

After various school placements, such as teaching classes at St Aidan`s (ranked amongst the highest achieving comprehensive schools in the country), for over five years I have helped a multitude of pupils ranging from as young as six through to mature students.
Having experienced rigorous training, I am an Examiner for a major board and have relished the challenges of marking
candidates` papers. I feel this gives me an invaluable perspective when preparing my students for their own tests.
I am familiar with the different examination boards, particularly AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CIE and ISEB. Covering English and Reasoning where desired, I have prepared students for 7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ entrance examinations as well as the STEP and PAT tests required for the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. With my tuition, students have gained entrance to the schools of Aldenham, Fulham Prep, Harrogate Ladies, Sedbergh, Charterhouse and Latymer. After my tuition, candidates attained the necessary grades for their university offers, including from Oxbridge, to study courses relevant to our preparation. I also have experience aiding with IB and professional skills tests together with Pre-U and IGCSE.
I am happy to offer tuition for all other syllabuses as well, for example WJEC and for free-standing maths qualifications.
I also offer tuition to adults wanting to improve their own maths understanding and skills, for example to help with their career or to pass graduate skills tests such as Kenexa, SHL and numeracy for QTS etc.
I have helped several with Asperger Syndrome, those with dyslexia and students who are home schooled or have had to change school due to behavioural difficulties or medical conditions including severe physical handicaps. These pupils were often rather behind in their studies. Furthermore, I have been trained for and have taught looked after children and also have experience of helping those for whom English is an additional language.

Tutoring Approach:

I find I can relate to students in a calm and patient manner and I have enjoyed helping them through difficulties with their subjects. I endeavour to find and solve the problems students have in their understanding to give them a firmer grasp of the topic, with the benefits from this being increased confidence and improved results.

Personal Description:
I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2001 with a 2:1 in French Studies. During my 3rd year I lived in Montreal where I studied French, Spanish, and Italian at McGill University. After graduating I qualified as a Teacher of English as a Second Language and spent the next few years teaching English in the UK and Paris as well as travelling to Spain, where I lived for three months.
In 2005 I gained a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish) at The University of Bath. From 2005 to 2006 I taught in a variety of primary and secondary schools before taking a permanent post at Matravers School in Wiltshire, where I worked for five years and gained internal promotion to second in department in 2010. During my time at the school I prepared students for both GCSE and A Level exams.
I also led trips to both Paris and Barcelona to give students a taste of life in these countries and an opportunity to practise their language skills in real life situations.
I have been working as a private tutor since 2012 and also work as an examiner for both AQA and Edexcel, marking the writing component of the French GCSE exam. I recently completed a Master's in Technical and Specialised Translation from the University of Westminster, for which I gained a distinction.

Teaching Experience:

I have five years experience of teaching French and Spanish in permanent post and currently work on a casual basis in various secondary schools in the Barnet area. Every summer, I teach English to adults at OISE Language Coaching in central London. I have been working as a private tutor since 2012.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe a positive working relationship between tutor and student is the cornerstone of a successful learning experience. I aim to make my students feel at ease and safe to take risks in order to build their confidence and experience success. I tailor-make lessons to each individual student's learning needs and preferences so that the student is always at the centre of the learning process. I use a range of materials in my teaching including online resources, worksheets, games, speaking activities, and past exam papers where appropriate.

Personal Description:
Accounting and Finance are my fields of interest and apart from having an MBA in Finance I am also a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Charterholder, which is arguably one of the most prestigious financial and investment qualifications in the world. Upon graduation I joined a leading commercial bank and worked for over five years in Corporate Banking. However, I have now taken an extended leave from the hectic life of corporate banking to enjoy my time in my lifelong passion of teaching.

While tutoring my students I attempt to assess a student's level of understanding and then work my way from there by using relevant examples tailored for her or his level of understanding. Thereby I attempt to develop in her/him a genuine interest in the subject/course which motivates the student to not only perform better at the exams but also to gain a deep understanding about the course which helps in future endeavours.

Teaching Experience:

I pride myself in working with even the weakest of students and helping them perform successfully at exams. My previous teaching assignments include preparing students for the following exams:

Economics: Microeconomics and Macroeconomics modules

Banking: Bank Risk Management
International Banking
Banking Regulation

Finance: Derivatives
Corporate Finance
Asset Management
Company Valuation
Fixed Income & Credit Risk

Dissertation: Final Year Project - Assistance and guidance with all aspects of the project specifically with respect to conducting literature review, setting of hypotheses, determining suitable research and methodology and conducting analysis.

My students:
Most of my students have either been A-levels students or undergraduate or masters students from one of the following universities:

London School of Economics (LSE)
Cass Business School (City University London)
University College London
Imperial College Business School (Imperial College London)
Birbeck (University of London)

Tutoring Approach:

While tutoring my students I attempt to assess the student's level of understanding and then work my way from there by using relevant examples tailored to their level of understanding. Thereby I attempt to develop in them a genuine interest in the subject/course which motivates the student to not only perform better at the exams but also to gain a deeper understanding about the course which helps in future endeavours.

Personal Description:
I am currently the Music Specialist and Music Co-ordinator at a Kensington Independent Sixth Form College. As well as having a strong knowledge of the usual teaching materials, I have also painstakingly collected a number of my own academic resources in order that I might teach the EDEXCEL A and AS level courses as fully and comprehensively as possible. I have provided a selection of my relevant teaching resources at my personal website (google 'Sam Leak'),under the heading 'teaching resources', so that you may view them. The depth, clarity and relevance of this information should be immediately clear. I have a great depth of musical knowledge and a strong acquaintance with the EDEXCEL syllabus. Thus I feel I am well-equipped to tutor any student wishing to learn the EDEXCEL AS or A Level syllabus with me.

(At my website you will find selected notes under the following headings: "Anton Webern - Quartet Op.22 - Movement 1", "Michael Tippett - Concerto For Double String Orchestra-mvmnt 1", "Haydn, Bruckner, Dowland, Bach", and "Luciano Berio - Sequenza III for female voice" (+Reduction/Score Analyses) )

Teaching Experience:

I am currently the Music Specialist and Music Co-ordinator at a Kensington Independent Sixth Form College. I am also an experienced instrumental teacher (piano), having trained up students for entry to various conservatoires - previous students of mine are now attending The Royal Academy Of Music, Leeds College of Music, Birmingham Conservatoire and Trinity College of Music. Alongside having a vast experience of private teaching, I have worked for The Aylesbury Music Centre (Head of Jazz Piano), Brent Music Service, Northcote Lodge School and The Richmond Music Trust. I am CRB cleared for my current teaching positions. I have also recently attended and completed a Child Protection and Safeguarding conference.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer highly structured lessons that are very informative and are aimed at the specific requirements of individual students. Though the teaching process is clearly goal orientated, I aim where possible to help my students to understand the required exam-related materials through a genuine and deep musical and historical understanding.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified and experience secondary school Mathematics teacher who has taught for several years in top schools in Oxford and Central London. I have acted as Head of Department where I redesigned the curriculum taking the best mathematics teaching concepts from around the world(Singapore, The Netherlands, etc). From this research I understood that it is one mindset knowing Mathematics, it is another mindset to be able to explain mathematical concepts in an understandable way to gain better progression in the subject.

I am available to give one to one Mathematics and Physics tutorials to those wishing to expand their skills and their understanding in these subjects. These tutorials can include all levels: KS3, GCSE, AS and A levels. My tutorials can be in person or delivered through Skype. I'm happy to take any student from to those struggling to pick up the basic concepts to those high flying through the course and wish to take their mathematics a stage further.

Teaching Experience:

After completing my Masters of Computer Science at Oxford University, I continued to study for a further year to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) for 11 to 18 year old in Mathematics. Since then I have been teaching Mathematics at a specialist secondary school for those with special educational needs, most common of which being dyslexia.

In my last set of tutees, the majority of my students obtained two grades higher than they performed six months previously - taking one person doing Physics went from a D at AS level to a final grade of B at A level.

Tutoring Approach:

Many teachers see tutoring as teaching, but with only one student in the classroom. This idea misses the advantages one to one tutoring has. One to one tutoring allows a substantial dept of understanding to be gained which is difficult to achieve in the classroom. This is achieved in tutorials by giving the tutee the space to learn and the time to learn. Space to learn means the tutor asking frequent questions tailored to the individual that are short, clear and non-leading. Time to learn, gives the tutee time to think and calculate answers to such questions.

Personal Description:
My interest in music began at primary school. I took instrumental lessons in flute and vocal tuition at the early age of 7 and piano aged 10. After quickly becoming involved in choirs, orchestras and solo performances I managed to achieve two music scholarships into two Independent schools.

Currently aged 21, I am a recent Music graduate from Bath Spa University. My studies included Opera, Singing, Composition, Performance, Musicology and Community Music. I have covered an extensive variety of repertoire, on all instruments, and performed on a number of occasions. Performances have taken place at St. Peters Basilica, The Pantheon, St. Peters Square, Bath Abbey, Wells Cathedral, Corsham Court, St Michaels Without, Worcester Cathedral, Bath Assembly Rooms and low key events such as termly school concerts and voluntary performances to the elderly.

Alongside teaching, I am interested in providing music-making workshops to local schools. I am also in discussion with the Worcestershire communities, to provide singing sessions for the elderly. Singing provides great enjoyment to many people, and working with community choirs is another factor of teaching I am interested in, as choral music is another great passion of mine. I enjoy composing new music and was honoured with having a recent Christmas composition performed in Bath Abbey's carol service.

Teaching Experience:

Alongside my studies, I have taught mainly piano to a handful of students. I enjoy teaching and consequently on the lookout for any new pupils of all abilities, who are seeking tuition.

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about teaching, and believe it's important that all lessons are fun and enjoyable for any pupil. Lesson's include a variety of activities in order to aid different learning styles, from listening to cd's, learning basic music theory and using colour to brighten up scores. For young beginners, I think that it is important to keep in touch with parents, so write in a notepad on a weekly basis about what practice is required for improvement.

I am CRB checked and can offer lessons during the daytime, evening or weekends. I am happy to travel to local areas of Redditch. For any further information, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified Primary School Teacher with over 10 years experience (both KS1 and KS2).

Personal Description:
Experienced lecturer and private tutor offering individual mathematics tuition at A level and GCSE/KS3. My teaching style is supportive and flexible, responding to the unique needs of each student. While I place a proper emphasis on exam preparation my supportive approach helps build my students' confidence in their ability to succeed.

Teaching Experience:

Lecturer and private tutor with 24 years' experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I ask students to do exercises and past paper questions, as appropriate, to aid in diagnosis. Following that, my approach is tailored to the individual, using explanation, example, practical illustration and context. I then set problems to assess progress and develop mathematical "fluency". I set a modest amount of homework to encourage my tutees to practice what they have learned.

The benefits of my approach are attested to by feedback obtained from students and parents, as listed below:-

"Excellent.Very professional and dedicated. Explains subjects in a way that puts the student at ease and therefore absorbs the information easier than being in the classroom. Have seen a great improvement in our daughters confidence in the maths subject thanks to David's tuition. Highly recommended." (Liz)

"Excellent. If you are looking for a private maths tutor I strongly recommend David. Patient, helpful and works around you. My daughter enjoys her time with David and I and is becoming more confident." (Gillian)

"I have a much clearer understanding of the subject. It has been great and well worth it. I would widely recommend it to anyone doing maths A level." (Ben)

"All of this makes perfect sense to me now." (Becky)

"I have been accepted into the course I wanted. It would not have been so without your guidance." (Matthew, A2 level)

"Excellent. Well structured, beneficial to my studies. Lessons were very clear and provided exam guidance. Always left a session with greater knowledge. Thank you very much for your tuition." (Richard, 1st year UG)

"Focussed on what I was struggling on. It's been great and you've really given me confidence that I can do all my maths exams. Thank you for all your help." (Sarah, A2 level)

Personal Description:
I am a native speaker of both Spanish and English (raised and educated in Spain by English parents and educated to university level in the UK) with experience tutoring. I am culturally as well as linguistically fluent in both English and Spanish, as well as well-read in both. I have studied French to university level and Art to A-level, already having a preexisting understanding of art due to both my parents being professional artists and amateur art historians themselves. Being a tutor in languages and literature, I am very skilled with language and linguistics and am able to teach a variety of writing styles.
I have tutored a variety of students across my subjects, from preschool children needing an introduction to Spanish to adult learners seeking to improve their English, to students who wanted to better their written communication.

Teaching Experience:

I have accumulated 3 years of private tutoring so far, I have worked as part of a Cardiff-based tutoring company and I have worked on a part-time basis with several companies (including a law firm) translating documents and letters.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer a variety of courses at different levels and for a range of skills.

For languages:
-A basic lesson-plan for young children (2-5), where they learn through games and immersion.
-A more structured plan for children of primary-school age, where they learn grammar and structure in a traditional approach, still kept fun.
-A support course for students studying Spanish for GCSE or A-level. This is appropriate for both students who need to catch-up and students who have the potential to progress faster.
-A brief support course for students approaching their exams, to ensure they are confident in the subject. I am very familiar with these exams as I have taken them myself (obviously achieving A*s).
-A beginners' course for all ages.
-An intermediate course for all ages.
-An advanced course for all ages.
-A fast-track course in Spanish for travelers and tourists.
-And a conversational course for those seeking to improve their pronunciation, fluency and ease of speech.

For literacy/writing skills:
-A beginners' course for all ages.
-An intermediate course for all ages.
-An advanced course for all ages.
-A business course.
-A students' course.
-A creative writing course.

For art:
-A skills-based course for beginners.
-An intermediate skills-based course.
-An art history and skills-based course.
-A support course for GCSE or A-level students of Art.

Personal Description:
Brighton College and Westminster School scholarship coaching are recent successes but I am also a former Advanced Skills Teacher with many years of experience working in a comprehensive school with all abilities. My key priority is to provide a safe learning setting where the learner can feel free to ask questions and make mistakes, enabling them to make progress session by session.

Enhanced DBS / CRB status February 2014

Clearly you will need to know if this will be the right arrangement for you, so the first lesson is free with no commitment to continue.

If your child has the potential, I can enable him or her to achieve the highest grades: knowing what the exam requires you to do will make a difference

Teaching Experience:

I have coached a pupil who gained a scholarship for Brighton College and another who was awarded the Queen's Scholarship to enter Westminster School, London. In both cases exams tested a whole range of traditional skills set at a relatively demanding level for this age group. Future candidates would be welcome to contact me.

Prior to this, I have taught pupils from 11 years upwards to Advanced Level pupils heading for Oxbridge. I have worked as an examiner for an exam board, set and marked papers at GCSE and taught adults in evening classes.

Tutoring Approach:

Tuition offered via Skype which offers greater flexibility of timings, lengths of lesson etc as well benefits for teaching using Google docs which record lesson progress, better use of resources etc.

Tuition also offered in student's home within Brighton if required or a mix of the above

On-line tasks can be set in between lessons to practise skills learnt.

Lively approach including games where appropriate.

Teaching linked to the exam board specification you are working towards including specific skills at GCSE / A level.

Grammar taught relevant to your needs: to include the new course requirements when published.

Feedback after each session to parents/ guardian or carer if requested to include likely grade potential at GCSE / A level or IB

A / AS / IB level students will work through short accessible texts to build up topic vocabulary but also support class tuition in your college or school.

Common Entrance Level candidates or specific entry exams for schools will receive very focused teaching to prepare for the exam.

Adult tuition for business or leisure.

I would be pleased to work with students in groups of 2 or 3 for a reduced fee per person.

Fees are a little higher than perhaps for other tutors, but you will be receiving a premium service with many more benefits than a session's tuition.

Personal Description:
I made a first class in physics, also had a Distinction in my Masters degree in Physics Electronics. I am currently pursuing a PhD degree in Optical Engineering in University of Aberdeen, Scotland. I love Physics and Maths, it's always a privilege that I get to teach it and interact with new people on these subjects.

I am very friendly and approachable. And also love to inspire my students when teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I was a volunteered teacher of GCSE after graduation for a year before becoming a lecturer at the University of Benin, Nigeria in 2009 and taught for four(4) years. In University of Aberdeen, I have been actively involved in demonstration and tutoring of these courses.

Tutoring Approach:

Firstly, I try to understand the strength and ability of my student and know which teaching technique is appropriate. It's also important I establish a solid understanding of the basic concepts and review previous lectures and assignment with the student, thereby increasing his/her confidence. Students need to be actively engaged in their learning so I will always give them more examples, exercises, space and guidance to work out the answer for themselves.

Personal Description:
I am a conscientious, patient, enthusiastic, sociable and highly motivated person who is reliable, responsible and hard working. As a teacher of italian I can say that I chose to do this job because I like to know about languages and different culturures and during long years of travel around Europe and Middle East, I realized that languages are important to tie people in the world. I have an excellent knowledge of my mother language which is Italian, the grammar an also of the different dialects that are scattered throughout Italy. I am courious to find differences between words, to know historical reasons and development of languages. Italian is a beautiful language, the sound is warm, like a song and during the last years I have found hundreds of people that want to learn it. That is why I decide to teach, people want to be able to talk with anyone, whatever their nationality. For me languages teaching is synonymous with cultural exchange: by fostering and interest in language, we stimulate intercultural awareness and empathy for others. I taught italian to different people with different ages, cultural background( arabic, bengali, european) and different life experiences and I developed excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to achieve targets and results following a personal method depending on difficulties and abilities to facilitate their learning.
Amongst my many hobbies are several sports, including football, run, volleyball and high jump.
I love to write poetry, just because is my way to vent different feelings; reading, specially essays and middle eastern historical books.
I love to travel around the world and getting in touch with different cultures, in particular, I really like to know what differs from culture from the others as regard the social aspect of daily life and just as the food, language and family relations and interpersonal skills. I am really intrested in arabic culture.
I love to cook and try recipes from other countries.
I am very friendly so i love spend time with people and socialise and help them when they needed, specially during my teaching job even I always try to be professional.

Teaching Experience:

*Italian tutor freelance at all levels;
*Italian teacher trainee, London- UK
October 2014
I taught 10 hours of italian lessons as L2 during my training in CELTA (teaching italian as foreign language to adults) to beginner and total beginner classes level (A1) and intermediate level (A1.1/ A1.2)

*Italian teacher, Rome- Italy
I taught private italian lessons as L2 to adults at different levels (from A1 to C2)
I taught italian as L2 in a class of Bengali adults for a voluntary purposes association.

٭Translator freelance, Rome - Italy and London - UK
Constant and actual job on request.

Tutoring Approach:

I usually apply and i strongly believe in an inductive method "spiral" dividing the teaching materials in different lessons and working cyclically on the different levels of learning(written and spoken comprehension, writing production and oral production);
I give attention to details and needs of the students and how to work with different levels and different learning skills;
I alwaysprogram, before lessons, some activities with a detailed lesson plan and interactive material;
Use of grammar books when needed.

Personal Description:
Hello potential tutees! My name is Christopher. I am a English language teacher living near Derry. I've been teaching English abroad, but I'm back in Northern Ireland to study at Queen's University. At the moment, I'm very interesting in speaking skills as I'm a member of Toastmasters International (a public speaking club). I've been a member for several years and it's a great way to meet people and develop my skills.
Although I'm studying, I have free time to act as tutor. I have access to a car, so it's possible for me to drive and meet you. If you would like me as a tutor, please feel free to email me about your needs or if you have some questions. I look forward to hearing from you in the future!

Teaching Experience:

I have taught English as a second / foreign language for more than eight years. I've taught in South Korea for several years, so I am very familiar with the challenges that Asian students face when learning English. Furthermore, I have experience teaching the Cambridge exams such as IELTS, FCE, CAE and CPE. Therefore, I am very familiar with these exams and can provide excellent strategies and content to help you pass them. Not only that, I've taught every English skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking. If you are looking for an experienced English language tutor, I can help you!
In terms of teaching qualifications, I have several. First, I successfully completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in 2010. Following that, I gained a Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). At the moment, I am studying a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language in Queen's University, Belfast.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a relaxed and supportive approach to teaching students. If the student is engaged and comfortable, they will learn English much more easily. It's important for me to check the needs of the students. For example, what are your strengths and weaknesses? What are your English language goals? By finding out this information, I can help students achieve their goals. Also, I am a student-centred teacher. It's my role to help you learn and equip you with the skills to continue to learn after we finish. I always do my best to prepare the best lessons and content that are specifically tailored for my students.
