Personal Description:
I am 43 years old. I like being a teacher and I get true enjoyment from sharing my knowledge and skills with new learners, making them realize how easy learning can be and how much actually they do know already. I like helping young people enjoy learning and making learning easy for them. I am patient and adaptable and easy to talk to. I always discuss the needs of my new pupils very carefully and aim to build their confidence in the subject. As an Examiner with a well-known Board, I am able to help my students to maximise their potential using targeted revision and exam techniques.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a teacher for 14 years. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I have worked in several schools now, gaining experience from working with a variety of learners of various ages and learning styles. I have worked within the requirements of more than one examing board, therefore I am quite familiar with all exam formats. I have been a tutor also for 10 years with very good results. Students do like me within first session, gaining confidence and self reassurance that they are capable of a lot already. Only some issues need re-addressing, building on their prior knowledge. I have been an EDEXCEL expert marker for six years now. I am recommended as a tutor by Emmanuel College and Cardinal Hume School in Gateshead, as both schools know me well. Among other teaching positions I have been a classroom teacher at Lord Lawson School in Birtley and Whitburn School in Sunderland. I have worked as an intervention teacher (one to one teacher) in a few schools already, due to my extensive experience gained along the pas years.

Tutoring Approach:

Within the first session, I discover the individual needs of my learners, their strengths and weaknesses. Then I devise a plan to address the whole programme of study within the number of weeks available, so no topic is ignored. I work simultaneously on exam requirements, but also on skill development, skills that the student can benefit from, outside the boundaries of a specific exam format. Students find themselves forgetting the time, often engrossed in their work, mentally challenged and stimulated. I set short homework at times, so that students can practise independently on those skills they develop with me, being reassured that they can transfer those skills further. I do provide learning materials which I do personalize for each student. I am very likable and I do make young learners be at ease within minutes of meeting them.

Personal Description:
I am a professional actor and graduate from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and have been working in the private tuition industry for over seven years for various agencies, most prominently The Tutors Group. Before drama school I worked as a Primary School teaching assistant and drama teacher for two years, after graduating from King's College London with a 2:1 in my BA (Hons) English Literature & Language degree. I went straight to university from Norwich High School for Girls in Norfolk. So I have travelled all the way across England in my pursuit of study! I always wanted to tutor because I knew how I worked for all my GCSEs, A-Levels and my BA, and I was fed up with the media claiming exams were getting easier for kids: teenagers today work super hard, as I did! Tutoring older students also provided a lovely contrast to my Primary School teaching. I am also on the Directory certified teachers for LAMDA examinations.

Teaching Experience:

Dog Kennel Hill Primary School
Teaching Assistant and Special Needs Support
Oct 2008 - Present

During the morning session, I am currently working in a Year One class in this south London school and thriving on aiding the children specifically with their literacy, reading and speaking skills as well as exploring numeracy work.
I lead certain lessons including story time and circle time.
I support key groups of children within the class and am able to use my initiative to plan, deliver and assess their learning in order to encourage progression.
I have vast experience in creating my own resources using ICT, and creating artistic displays to proudly exhibit the children's work.
I have taken courses in Early Literacy Support, encouraging creative and inclusive teaching especially for children with English as an additional language and complex special needs children. I also have training in "Letters and Sounds" Phonics, and "A First Workshop on Autism".
During the afternoon session, I support a child in Year Two with Autism. I plan and prepare all his lessons, working towards targets which I and the class teacher have set for him; these include phonics, counting and social skills. I use music as a reward system for the boy, and his singing has greatly improved his speech quality and communication skills.
I have extensive training in Autistic Spectrum Conditions, undertaken with Southwark, covering various aspects including history, sensory integration and behavioural management.
I work with various children with complex special needs within school, including children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Galactosemia, and have worked closely with speech and language therapists and learning mentors.
I offer one to one support outside of lesson time in the form of music lessons for special needs children; I prepare and provide my own resources and find singing with my students extremely rewarding.
I am in the process of setting up an after-school drama club for Key Stage One students at the school, having directed the infant school Christmas play this and last year.
I have also spent time in Key Stage Two classrooms, focussing on aiding older children with their literacy skills: I particularly enjoyed aiding Year Six students in exploring literary themes and using appropriate critical vocabulary when studying children's literature.

Stage Coach Theatre Arts
Early Years and Drama Teacher
Jan 2009 - Present
I am currently working in the Beckenham Junction branch of Stage Coach: using games and prepared resources, I teach my Early Stages children elementary levels of dance, drama and singing, allowing them to develop their confidence levels both on and off the stage. I have written and directed several productions for the children to perform over the year, showcasing their talents to their proud parents.
Since September I have taken on the role of drama teacher for the elder children aged six to sixteen. Through games, improvisation and text work, my students are encouraged to enjoy and improve their passion and talent for theatre in an open and safe environment.

The Tutors Group
Private Tutor
Sep 2008 - Present
In contrast to my primary school teaching experience, my private tutoring allows me to help young people of an older age and greater intellectual development further their learning.
I teach English Literature and Language, History, Theatre Studies and Classical Studies, from Primary, to GCSE and A-Level, Degree level and beyond.
I aid my students in improving their essay structure, spelling and grammar and discussing key thematic and conceptual elements of their required texts.
I plan and prepare lessons and constantly assess students, ensuring they receive high quality tutorage.

Classroom Teachers
Teaching Assistant
Sep 2008 - Oct 2008
I received thoroughly positive feedback from the schools in which I temporarily taught in the weeks preceding my permanent employment at Dog Kennel Hill; colleagues reported me as reliable, enthusiastic and hard-working, and possessing excellent interaction skills with the children themselves.
I gained vast experience with nursery and reception children, thriving on working with early years.

Tutoring Approach:

I have worked as a private tutor for various agencies and also independently, leading my students through 11 plus, 13 plus, GCSE, A Level, Degree level and beyond. I teach English Literature & Language, Drama & Theatre Studies, History and Classics. I also have plenty of experience in working with much younger students (see my CV for details of my classroom and teaching assistant experience) with English as an additional language. I am a confident and enthusiastic individual, with an acute passion for teaching, and have been working with the Tutors Group for over 7 years now. I have worked as a teaching assistant in an Outstanding inner-city primary school, and before training at drama school was planning to take a post-graduate course in primary school teaching, a desire much encouraged by my class teacher and head of school. I have just graduated from my MA in acting at one of the most prolific drama schools in the country (Bristol Old Vic Theatre School); as an experienced dramatic performer and director, I enjoy effectively using these skills to aid children in their learning, leading to a warm, encouraging and happy learning atmosphere. I rapidly and easily create positive, personal relationships with colleagues and children, and believe education should be a creative and inclusive experience for all.

Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified Maths Teacher and have been teaching maths privately and in comprehensive schools fo over 25 years. I am a maths teacher at an 11 - 16 comprehensive school where I teach KS3, KS4 maths classes.
Part of my responsibility is to direct teaching and learning within my department, and to do this I monitor the constant changes and developments to do with the teaching and assessment of maths. This keeps me aware of all the changes to the format and style of the exam papers (the specifications have changed and there has been a major shift in the style and difficulty of the questions making them more functional and requiring additional skills in answering them, a fact that some non-qualified, non-up-to-date teachers may not be aware of!)
I have successfully tutored students through GCSEs at both higher and foundation levels and within both modular and linear settings and have experience with all the major exam boards (AQA, OCR, and Edexcel)

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in comprehensive schools for over 25 years and at all key stages. I am currently a maths teacher and a private maths tutor. I have over 25 years experience teaching privately and have an excellent, proven track record having always made improvements to my students' grades, sometimes from 'D' to A*.

Tutoring Approach:

I visit the student at their home for the lesson, which is usually one hour per week (but this arrangement can be flexible). I will perform an analysis to tailor the individual needs of the student. Once the student has a good understanding of the concepts, I teach methods of answering exam style questions, then move on to past exam papers giving them the skills and confidence to do well in the exam.
Following each lesson I like to have an informal chat with the student and family to give feedback on progress made.
I can also offer short booster lessons in order to bring the student 'up to speed' or to prepare for exams that may require only one or two hours.

Personal Description:
Currently studying full-time Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of Aberdeen.

I am a friendly, conscientious individual who cares deeply about young people's personal and academic development.

When not working or studying, I enjoy taking care of my health through the gym and a variety of sports.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. I have personally tutored 40+ pupils of varying mathematical ability, which has allowed me to refine and become very confident in my approach.

A large number of my tutees were found through word-of-mouth from former tutees pleased with their results.

I now have quite a few reviews, I have been registered on other websites for years and would be more than happy to supply references from other past tutees for your peace of mind.

Tutoring Approach:

I passionately believe that everyone deserves the best chance at school. However, more and more of my tutees are complaining that their schools are failing to provide that. It seems that due to funding cutbacks/lack of qualified teachers, only the most naturally gifted pupils are given the right attention and everyone else is left at the bottom of the pack.

I have no such prejudice. It does not matter to me if you are a straight A student looking for some insurance, or if you are a bottom set student who has always struggled with maths. All I expect from my tutees is their attention and a willingness to learn. If you care about your education and future prospects, then so do I.

I am available for tutoring throughout the year, even during the summer holidays for 1st/2nd year university resits.

I am available weekday evenings and at the weekend, just let me know which times would suit you. I reply very quickly.

I have a car so travelling to your home is not an issue, however I may require additional fuel money depending on your location.

Personal Description:
I am an inspiring, self-motivating and dynamic teacher with extensive experience in teaching at the UK academies, selective schools and a number of top boarding schools. As a result, I have acquired specialized knowledge of UK and Chinese educational systems and a flexible approach to teaching which is most relevant to the demands of the post.

Similarly, my strong academic record indicates that I am well-qualified for the job. In particular, I am currently studying Mandarin Chinese PGCE course at Institute of Education, which leads the UK for education training. The course has provided me with in-depth methodology skills, highly suited to the UK framework for teaching Mandarin Chinese. As part of this training, I have undergone intense observations across a wide range of school placements. This has provided me with practical experience of developing schemes of work in line with the National Curriculum of Mandarin Chinese.

Furthermore, during my school placements training, I have found this experience immensely rewarding and have developed an approach to teaching which aims to challenge and engage young minds. I have developed skills in teaching critical thinking and learnt how to nurture innovation and original thought. I instill high expectations in pupils and encourage self-efficacy as a tool for enabling achievement. Similarly, given the academic criteria of my school placements, I am expected to teach from basic to Oxbridge level. I have also developed insight into the value of inspiring pupils' intrinsic motivation and meta-knowledge. This involves emphasizing the importance of knowing individual strengths in order to capitalize on them and individual difficulties so as to identify enabling strategies. In addition, by fostering these facets of self-awareness, I find that pupils are often able to self-regulate aspects of their learning to excellent effect.

I will bring energy and enthusiasm to the school's extra-curricular activities. For example, I could offer Movie Clubs screening Chinese movies and Culture Clubs sharing Chinese Calligraphy and Tea Ceremonies. I am particularly skilled at cooking traditional Chinese food, which could be integrated into the school's Mandarin days and Festival celebrations. I am interested in Chinese music, singing and drama. I believe that integrating singing and drama into the Mandarin department would be a motivating tool for developing oral skills in the target language.

Finally, I believe teaching is one of the few vocations in life that can make a significant difference to people's lives, enabling children and young people to build a promising future. I also find teaching to be a very rewarding career, I am particularly happy and proud each time my students make progress in their study or advocate positive behavior. I also enjoy the challenge of teaching and developing new ways to make my lessons interesting and stimulating to a wide range of students.

Teaching Experience:

I have intensive teaching English and Mandarin Chinese experience in both top China secondary schools and UK academies and selective schools.

Tutoring Approach:

I will be teaching according to the students' age and different learning styles accordingly.

Over the past few years I have prepared many students successfully in Economics and business studies In AQA, Ed excel and OCR specifications. In any syllabus specification the theories are same,
Home visits are possible with in 15 miles from SM6 area and can consider other areas with prior negotiations.

Tutoring Approach:

I follow the syllabus provided by the exam board, to teach each topic. Then I go through past papers, explain how to answer the questions. I expect students to do the papers at home and give to me for marking. I go through their answers and explain how to answer the questions. My teaching approach is, first I assess the student's current knowledge regarding the subject and thereafter I pitch accordingly. I use simple language and current examples in explaining the theories and concepts. Also I give and discuss past papers with the student and guide them in the correct method in answering a question. I give home work from selected past papers. I prepare a simplified handout for every lesson and this handout is the final reading material for the examination. Sometimes I dictate short notes during the lesson and my teaching sessions are interactive, where the students are encouraged to ask questions and express their current knowledge about the subject. At present there are number of satisfied students. I am unable to disclose their identities with out prior permission from them. My first lesson is free of charge. So that the student will have a chance to judge my approaches to teaching, subject knowledge, my mannerism etc.

Personal Description:
I've been living in England for over 15 years, most of them in a tranquil town of Bradford on Avon. I'm a keen reader and chair a reading group. I have two extremely bright and boisterous boys, both of them completely bilingual, talking, reading and writing in both languages from an early age. I find that teaching comes very natural to me however I use all the latest techniques recommended by teaching authorities.

Teaching Experience:

For the last three years I've been contracted to teach Russian Language for MoD, which means that sometimes I can be extremely busy but most of the time I still have sessions available.
I am working towards teaching qualification (Cert Ed leading to Diploma in Education)

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in using different ways of teaching and learning approaches (VAK). I recognize the necessity of inclusion, equality and diversity, to approach the learners differently according to their needs. During my PTLLS course I learnt how to plan my lessons using scheme of work and lesson plan. Writing lesson plan was particularly useful as it helped me to break it down into parts in order to monitor progress and plan the lesson better time-wise I also like to use different resources, including e-learning as well as textbooks, spreadsheets and printouts. I make sure that my lessons are interesting and relevant.
As a part of a course, I teach Russian Grammar and we do plenty of dialogues, free writing, read Russian literature and poetry, listen and watch Russian news.

Personal Description:
An enthusiastic and dynamic multilingual tutor with a variety of teaching experiences at all levels in three different countries (France, Romania, England).

Over 8 years of experience as a qualified multilingual teacher/proofreader/translator in the study of French and English language.

Teaching Experience:

8 years of private tuition (French/ English) to children and adults in Romania, France and England;
5 years teaching and tutoring French and English in Romania
3 years of tutoring in France

This total immersion in a French environment with native speakers hugely contributed to my understanding of the French culture and behaviour, as well as their way of addressing and solving matters.

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor, I consider the student's progress even after a few lessons to be the most important aim and reason for my work.

The pleasure I take in teaching foreign languages comes especially from my wish to instill into my students a love for the beauty and mystery of a new linguistic field and new semantic world. One of my biggest contentments is to share my knowledge and interest with them and then acknowledge their progress in this domain. My purpose is not only to work with passion but also to enable my students to enlarge their horizons so they are able to quickly compare, assimilate and develop their swiftness when communicating in a foreign language.

In other words, I target with priority:

-the valorization of the student's potential,
-the diversity of the amount of information that each student assimilates
-the enthusiasm and the interactive atmosphere during the lessons

I find that the level at which each student begins with is not important as long as there is a visible progress between the start and the finish of the tuition.

The basis of my lessons consists of the notions which everyone needs in order to know a foreign language, aspects related to the cultural and the real life and the attention on the typical rules of the foreign language.

With delight and interest I concentrate on the efficient use of a variety of media (songs, short films, films, books, newspaper articles, literature) which could animate the lessons.

My eagerness and determination to learn and teach foreign languages (French, English and Italian) developed my interest in analyzing, comparing and synthesizing information as well as enabling me to discover various methods of teaching a considerable amount of knowledge. Through assiduity and responsibility I managed to find the path towards mastering these foreign languages and teaching them with enthusiasm.

Foreign languages are a source of mystery, a mix of rules and originality, a mine of meanings and linguistic surprises, a challenge. I've always found them a very absorbing and fulfilling but sometimes frustratingly vast field which attracts and challenges to a thorough study and wider analysis.

I learned that paying close attention to quality of all my work and grasping opportunities to learn new skills must be prioritized by professional workers.

1) "The first thing that struck me (as an American native speaker) is the remarkable fluency of her oral and written French, which is of a very high academic calibre.
I appreciated her openness and intellectual acuity. In short, it was truly a pleasure to have her as a tutor.
I was also impressed by her discretion, politeness and ability to work with her students and encourage them to progress and love French as one of the most beautiful language in this world."

2) "I find Giorgiana's teaching method easy to follow, however thorough. She very well manages to alternate my two languages (English and Romanian) and make references to the similarities between my languages and French. This helps me understand better because she can then refer to a rule in a language that also applies in French and I can use that to remember the French rule better. After she shows me something, she always ensures that I have taken in the lesson and have listened carefully, testing me on what she has just taught me. To consolidate the learning, she regularly gives me work to complete before our next lesson. Thanks to Giorgiana's tuition, I am now ahead of my class and my teacher is very impressed!"

3) "I noticed she was a very intelligent person, motivated, with genuine working aptitudes, treating the teaching profession with the maximum of responsibility and seriousness. She belongs to that category of people with a high spirit of undertaking interesting and useful methods, updated in her domain and in other fields as well.
She really has pedagogical tact, knows how to adapt to the public and catch its attention through a mix of gentleness, patience and amiability."

Personal Description:
I am currently a third year Undergraduate student at the University of Birmingham studying Medicine. As an ex student at Queen Elizabeth's School for Boys I have an enthusiasm for learning which stems from my deep desire to achieve success. I have a fondness for teaching and have so for long periods of time. As well as teaching I enjoy to play football and I also thoroughly enjoy travelling.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught numerous students at QE boys and have aided them throughout with GCSE English and GCSE/A-Level Sciences also. This has involved me coordinating lesson plans and detailed presentations for classes of up to 12 pupils. Having been through the stress of exams, I have also held numerous study groups and sessions in order to aid pupils further. I have also taught Year 7 and Year 9 pupils on a one-to-one basis in a range of subjects including Biology, English and Chemistry. I have also tutored IGCSE Chemistry students on a one-to-one basis.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel that the best way to tutor is to understand the pupil and their best methods of learning, rather than enforcing my ways upon them. After having been through the entire secondary school process myself I feel that it is important to engage with students and interact with them, providing them with new and refreshing ways to analyse, comprehend and apply the knowledge with which they are taught.

It is important that a student is able to relate to their tutor and feels at ease to ask questions to quash any qualms they may have and I feel the best way to do that is to provide an environment which is comfortable and encouraging. With extensive knowledge of a variety of exam boards, I will seek to dissect the relevant specifications for the subjects and relay them in a way which I feel the student will best understand.

Tutoring and learning is not meant to be a daunting process and the best teachers in my experience are those who you are able to talk to openly whilst making you think in order to get the best out of you.

Personal Description:
I have an attachment for academia and all that it entails (research, education, and scholarship). Following four years of undergraduate study, i underwent a year of Masters study at Coventry University where i graduated with a Distinction in International Relations. However, i have not always been a student. I have taught civil education for a year at a secondary (high) school and this was followed by a year as an Assistant lecturer at a college where i lectured on political science.

I have valuable experience as both a learner and a teacher. Thus, this aids my understanding of what a student needs and the pressures associated with the academic environment. Having this understanding, i will be able to employ skills learned as a teacher and lecturer so as to relieve pressure from my students and ensure their needs are met.

So, that's me in a nutshell. I will gladly elaborate on anything further.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught and lectured at various levels of academia. I have a year of experience teaching at a community based secondary school. This was followed by a year lecturing in the capacity of an Assistant Lecturer at a college of education. This is further complimented by years acting as a personal tutor to academic colleagues.

Tutoring Approach:

I adjust my approach to fit the requirements of my tutee. I ascertain what learning style appeals to my student and i adopt that for the lessons. The adoption of this approach is due to my understanding that all students cannot have similar learning styles. Most importantly, i am always eager to learn new methods and procedures in order to improve my technique and approach to ensure my students always have the best experience.

Personal Description:
I have worked as a part time tutor for the past academic year and during my gap year. After passing the first year of an accelerated Graduate Entry Medicine course with Merit, I am looking forward to entering the clinical years of my degree. I also hold a Bsc in Biological Sciences from the University of Liverpool. Working as a healthcare assistant during my gap year presented me with the opportunity to improve both my listening and communication skills. I hope to not only improve a student's academic success but also their learning style and study skills

Teaching Experience:

PRIVATE TUITION FROM 2014
I regularly undertake work for Tavistock tutors, as well as taking on my own clients privately. My experience ranges from 11+ and 13+ prep to undergraduate Organic Chemistry tuition. I have also delivered lessons via Skype. I was pleased that one of my recent tutees achieved her goal of grade A at A level.
MEDICINE ENTRANCE COACHING FROM 2015
A large aspect of my role as a student ambassador for St George's University is advising students on how best to approach the medicine application process. This has included leading mock interviews giving individual feedback to over 30 international students, help writing personal statements and advice on getting the best work experience placements.

Tutoring Approach:

From my own experiences, I understand that school tuition can struggle to tap in to the different ways young people learn, which may mean that they do not reach their true potential. I adapt my teaching style depending on the individual tutee, and try and make the sessions as fun and interactive as possible. I encourage open discussion and focus on conceptual understanding of a subject above rote learning, as I feel this better prepares the tutee for further University education and work.

I currently work as a student ambassador at St George's University (I am reading graduate entry medicine). This role has given me contact with young people who have an interest in the sciences and healthcare, and I have enjoyed being able to teach subjects that I am truly passionate about. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to do this on a one-to-one basis and allows me to develop a relationship with a student over a longer period of time, and have a more lasting impact on their education.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified Mathematics teacher currently working as a full time teacher. I am available during weekdays
after 4pm and weekends (Flexible). I have worked in various schools as a Maths teacher, hence fully understand the national curriculum of each year group.
I am a patient and motivating teacher. I have helped many young learners to achieve great results in Maths.

Teaching Experience:

As mentioned above, I am a qualified teacher. Apart from my full time job as a teacher, I take private tuition for children from year 5 to GCSE. I have 6 years of private tutoring experience.

I use a variety of approaches whilst tutoring. It varies from pure problem solving, questioning, activities, Bingo Maths, Treasure hunt etc.

Tutoring Approach:

Being a Maths teacher, I strongly believe that one cannot excel in Maths without a strong foundation of basic Maths skills. My main focus area would be to give a clear understanding of the basics of each topic.

In order to identify the weaker areas, I conduct an initial assessment. I plan lessons based on the result of the Initial assessment.
I am a strong believer of extended work. Hence each learner will be given homework.
Practicing exam style questions is very important to achieve better results in exams and moving ahead in class sets. I give importance to homework and exam style questions.

Personal Description:
My Name is Rachel and I have finished my final year at the University of Glasgow, where I studied a Bachelor of Music with Honours. I am a very positive, hardworking person. I am a singer and also have many years of experience working with the Kodaly method of music education. I have achieved ABRSM Grade 5 Theory, The National Youth Choir of Scotland's Go For Gold Certificate (which is accredited to Grade 5 Theory) and have also achieved Grade 8 in Voice and Grade 7 in Oboe through the ABRSM. I am a first study singer, and have several years teaching and assisting in teaching theory.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked with the National Youth Choir of Scotland for 2 years and have been doing music workshops in schools with Primary 3 and 4. I also teach in one of NYCoS's Area Choirs teaching young people from the age of 8-18. Before I became an employee of NYCoS I had volunteered with them as an assistent music instructor. I have the Go For Bronze/Silver/Gold teaching qualifications, with Go For Gold now being accredited to ABRSM Grade 5 Theory.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a very patient teacher and try my best to find a way which makes learning fun and easy for each individual.
I was taught using a course designed by NYCoS that is based on the work of the Hungarian composer Zoltan Kodaly. He believed that music education should be fun and inclusive and this is something I strive to bring to my lessons.
