I am a recent graduate from the University of Edinburgh where I studied Portuguese and Spanish, achieving a 2:1 degree with distinction in spoken Portuguese and Spanish. In fact, I am half Portuguese, and spent much of my childhood living there, so can provide a teaching service that is as much about the culture as it is about learning a new language. Hi there! I am a PGCE qualified teacher with a good 2:I honours degree from King's College London in French and Spanish. I am living in the Twickenham area and have a huge passion for languages. I have travelled extensively within Spain, France as well as some parts of Latin America, and have lived in both Madrid and Paris. I am a big fan in particular of European cinema and literature. I like to make language learning as fun and interactive as possible, particularly when it comes to getting to grips with the trickier parts of grammar. I use a range of resources, including PowerPoint, Youtube and the Internet, as well as excerpts of contemporary Spanish/French music and cinema to help you learn. You will be most successful if you have fun and enjoy learning, making it more memorable.

As an English native, I have a fluent command of both French and Spanish, but also know how to tackle the major pitfalls that English people suffer when learning another language, having gone through the GCSE/A Level process myself.

I have spent most of my career working in publishing as a book editor, including both books for adults and children. I am 23 years old and have just graduated from the University of Nottingham with a 2.1 degree in French and Hispanic Studies. I have found that studying languages has been extremely inspiring and I would love the opportunity to share my passion for them with younger learners. Teaching Experience:
I have a wide range of experience in teaching and working with children. Since leaving school I have taught English as a foreign language in Ecuador, Ghana, Spain and the U.K. I taught English in an Ecuadorian primary school for six months and in a Ghanian primary and secondary school for two months. Last summer was spent teaching English at a Spanish language school for teenagers.

At university I completed a TEFL module, teaching international university students, as well as an Ambassador's module which involved teaching French in a secondary school in Nottingham for a semester.

Tutoring Approach:
As a younger student I found learning languages extremely daunting. It is important that a language learner feels as confident as possible in order to progress and I would like to support learners in achieving this.

I believe that it is important for students to learn about the cultures of countries where language are spoken as well grammar and vocabulary in order to gain a deeper understanding of the language whilst making learning more interesting and improving cultural awareness.

As a GCSE stuent I had a mathematics tutor which boosted my grade, therefore, I feel that I could really make a positive difference. I am very organised and approachable and I think it is important to make learning fun and relevant.
