| Personal Description: I am a dedicated, passionate and energetic teacher, who enjoys his work and try to go beyond what is normally required of an educator. Spanish is my mother tongue and I finished the University Master Degree in the Teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. |
Teaching Experience: During my stay in London (I have been here since June 2008) I have been fully dedicated to teaching Spanish to adults and primary/secondary pupils. I have focused on the National Curriculum and the IB Primary, Middle Years and Diploma programme, since I have been working at Islington Arts & Media School of Creativity as Spanish teacher assistant and supply Spanish teacher around other London Schools, where I was involved in the planning and assessment of pupils in years 9,10 and 11, as well as preparing and delivering individual programmes of study for pupils struggling to attain the required levels for GCSE and A-level. Likewise I have dealt with some students with behavioural and emotional problems in order to change their attitude towards Spanish. On the other hand I have also taken a particular interest in private tuition because I have been teaching Spanish through Spanish Steps Agency and by my own. As a private teacher I successfully prepared pupils and adults to GCSE and A-level exams who all achieved top marks. |
Tutoring Approach: My method always searches autonomous development and critical thinking focusing on functional grammar, conversational skills and cross cultural explanations since I have an in depth knowledge of the Iberian culture. I believe the teacher's work is a kind of art which must be excessively attractive, responsible and worth for the students. |

| Personal Description: I am a recent graduate from the University of Edinburgh where I studied Portuguese and Spanish, achieving a 2:1 degree with distinction in spoken Portuguese and Spanish. In fact, I am half Portuguese, and spent much of my childhood living there, so can provide a teaching service that is as much about the culture as it is about learning a new language. I have also spent some time in Spain. |
Teaching Experience: I have taught children and adults English on a voluntary basis in Brazil in 2005, and in 2007 I was accepted onto the British Council's Comenius programme to become a Teaching Assistant in Spain for 4 months. I spent this time working at a secondary school, assisting in both teaching and course preparation. |
Tutoring Approach: I have a fun but disciplined approach to teaching, because although I aim to make learning a language an enjoyable and active experience (especially where children are concerned), it must also be stressed that you cannot learn a language overnight - it takes practice, practice, practice! |

| Personal Description: I am capable of working on my own or with other people. I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, learning new things and teaching others new things. I currently speak two languages and am learning a third. I am a lively person and fun to be around. |
Teaching Experience: I have always excelled academically so I am used to being asked for help in most areas. I only have experience of tutoring children in Primary School (Key Stages 1 and 2) English and Maths. My younger sister (aged 13) used to struggle with Maths and English so my mother requested that I tutor her and she is now slightly above average in Maths and English. I have never taught Spanish before but I am able to speak conversational Spanish. |
Tutoring Approach: I am patient, creative and sensitive. When a student makes a mistake, I try to correct them without making them feel as if they've let themselves down, ask how they got that result and explain where it is they went wrong. I always ask where the student is up to and make a list of things we need to go over together. I'll set my students homework tasks every so often. |

I have travelled extensively within Spain, France as well as some parts of Latin America, and have lived in both Madrid and Paris. I am a big fan in particular of European cinema and literature. I intend to undertake an Masters in Applied Linguistics with special reference to Spanish in the next few years. |
Teaching Experience: I did my teacher training in Canterbury two years ago, and since 2008 I am teaching in an Independent Boy's school in South West London. As a result, I am up-to-date with the latest methods of teaching, and have an excellent knowledge of the requirements of the different exam boards having worked with the three major ones at one stage or another. I teach French and Spanish to all levels from 11 - 18. I have tutored a series of A Level and GCSE classes which have achieved top grades (my classes in 2010 achieved 95% A and A*). I have also tutored University students, and privately coached one boy to achieve an A grade at A Level in two years having started as a complete beginner. I am also experienced in the conducting and assessment of GCSE/AS/A2 Oral exam process, and can assist with preparation/practice for this. |
Tutoring Approach: I like to make language learning as fun and interactive as possible, particularly when it comes to getting to grips with the trickier parts of grammar. I use a range of resources, including PowerPoint, Youtube and the Internet, as well as excerpts of contemporary Spanish/French music and cinema to help you learn. You will be most successful if you have fun and enjoy learning, making it more memorable. As an English native, I have a fluent command of both French and Spanish, but also know how to tackle the major pitfalls that English people suffer when learning another language, having gone through the GCSE/A Level process myself. |

| Personal Description: I am 30 years old and believe in getting the best out of my students by helping them to enjoy learning. I have spent most of my career working in publishing as a book editor, including both books for adults and children. I have a broad spectrum of knowledge and an interest in a wide range of topics and I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for my subjects with my students. I continue to work as a freelance editor alongside tutoring and have just completed an MA in creative writing. |
Teaching Experience: Both my parents began their careers as teachers, and my mum continued working as a classroom teacher and private tutor right up to retirement. I have often taken small groups for informal reading practice and drama classes both at my mum's school and at the junior school that I attended. I was also very involved in training and management while I worked in publishing as well as working on books that required an understanding of how children can most effectively learn. |
Tutoring Approach: I am a strong believer in finding out where my students' enthusiasm lies and using that to fuel their learning. If a student is struggling with a particular subject, it can be extremely frustrating for them, but the solution is often to take a new approach and explain things differently, breaking problems down into manageable chunks. I am happy to explore different avenues of learning until I find one that fits with each individual student. |

| Personal Description: I am 23 years old and have just graduated from the University of Nottingham with a 2.1 degree in French and Hispanic Studies. I have found that studying languages has been extremely inspiring and I would love the opportunity to share my passion for them with younger learners. I am looking to broaden my teaching experience before embarking upon a career in International Relations. |
Teaching Experience: I have a wide range of experience in teaching and working with children. Since leaving school I have taught English as a foreign language in Ecuador, Ghana, Spain and the U.K. I taught English in an Ecuadorian primary school for six months and in a Ghanian primary and secondary school for two months. Last summer was spent teaching English at a Spanish language school for teenagers. At university I completed a TEFL module, teaching international university students, as well as an Ambassador's module which involved teaching French in a secondary school in Nottingham for a semester. |
Tutoring Approach: As a younger student I found learning languages extremely daunting. It is important that a language learner feels as confident as possible in order to progress and I would like to support learners in achieving this. I believe that it is important for students to learn about the cultures of countries where language are spoken as well grammar and vocabulary in order to gain a deeper understanding of the language whilst making learning more interesting and improving cultural awareness. As a GCSE stuent I had a mathematics tutor which boosted my grade, therefore, I feel that I could really make a positive difference. I am very organised and approachable and I think it is important to make learning fun and relevant. |
