I am told by native speakers that I speak very fluently and have a great accent in both languages - I really enjoy tutoring and speaking both languages ! I get a real buzz from the interplay between myself and the student and spend a great deal of time preparing sessions so that i can deliver the best for my students. I visit Spain and France regularly, love watching Spanish and French DVDs and listening to music of Hispanic and French origin. I am 21 years old and currently studying for a BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education (with QTS) at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Prior to this I spent two years studying French and Spanish at the University of Manchester, before deciding to withdraw from my course in order to focus on my main passion, education. Teaching Experience:
I have spent a number of weeks assisting in various classroom settings at a local primary school, including experience with dyslexic children, working on reading and spelling skills on a one-to-one basis, which included the use of ICT materials. I will also undergo several placements during the academic year as part of my higher education programme.

The emphasis of my experience comes not from tutoring however, rather my work with children in a different setting: I have worked as a summer camp counsellor in the US for the past three years, working with boys aged from 6 to 10 years old. Whilst this work is not of an educational manner, the professionalism and skills I have acquired from the role are similarly placed to those required of an educator. My duties have been eclectic, from the basic care and nurturing of the children, to the coaching of sports games, and even practising management and organisational skills.

Tutoring Approach:
Whilst I understand that the purpose of tutoring is to enrich the learner's knowledge and improve their ability in a given subject, I believe in taking a more relaxed and creative approach to tackling the specific problems of the individual learner. Personal Description:
My name is Jennifer and I'm from Spain. I have been learning languages since I was at school, and after at high school, university and languages schools. This fact has made me aware of the importance of learning languages and has taught me different ways of teaching and learning a foreign language.
I have a university degree in Translation and Interpreting.
Furthermore, I have the qualification to be a teacher in Spain (C.A.P). During this course I learnt several aspects of teaching a foreign language and the opportunity to teach in a high school in Spain during my period of practice.

Teaching Experience:
I had taught English as a private teacher for a year and currently, I am giving Spanish private lessons and working as a Spanish Language Assistant in two secondary schools.
My responsibilities as a Language Assistant are to help pupils with their skills and abilities in Spanish. Sometimes I work with smalls groups practising the pronunciation, speaking, listening and writing skills. I also help the pupils with their oral exams and I prepare activities with vocabulary or contents that they have learnt in the classroom with the teacher. I work in the classroom with the teacher as well and I am also in charge of prepare resources and materials such powerpoints presentations, activities, booklets etc that teachers can use in their lessons.
I have learnt a lot from the teachers; the way they teach languages and how different it is from the way that we use to teach in Spain. Because of that, I can take the best of both systems.

Tutoring Approach:
I prepare every lesson in advanced taking into account the students level and their needs. I prepare materials and resources such as powerpoints presentations, worksheets... I use my laptop in the lessons so that we can use Internet and online materials. In my lessons you can practice listening, reading, writting and speaking skills or just the ones you're most interested in. You will also learn grammar and vocabulary as well.

Tutoring Approach:
I know you have to enjoy learning in order to get the most out of it. Therefore I would come across to my tutees as relaxed, with a desire to make learning fun and interesting. It may help the tutee to stress that learning is a habit, you can learn anything if you have good study skills. I haver spent most of my life in Education and so have studied many different subjects; For example, French as part of my degree course and Spanish to 'A' level standard at evening class, and Year 1 Italian. I have trained as a Basic Skills tutor in Literacy and Numeracy and also taught these subjects to primary school children and young adults. This is what makes me a good tutor, having gained experience of working with different age groups in different settings- Colleges, community centres, primary schools. I know a lot of school subject type information but also know how to explain it in layman's terms.
