Personal Description:
Hola! My name is Andrea, I was born and raised in Chile, South America, and I have been living in the UK since 2013. I am a paediatric physiotherapist and I recently graduated from University College London (UCL) where I did a master degree in Paediatrics and Child health.

As a Spanish native speaker who lives in an English speaking country, I understand the process and challenges of learning a foreign language. So, it doesn't matter the Spanish level in which you are, I would love to help you to improve your speaking and listening skills.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience has been mainly based in Chile where I gave lectures at the University for undergraduate students in Occupational Therapy. Moreover, I supervised students during their final internship at the children rehabilitation centre in which I was working at that time.

Tutoring Approach:

I studied English as a second language, so I know that every person learns in a different way. Therefore, all the lessons will be adjusted according to your needs and they will always be well structured. Having said that, I think that a speaking-listening approach can be more effective because it will allow you to create your own sentences, practicing pronunciation and getting the chance to make mistakes and learn from them.

In order to achieve better results, I will use different sources during the lessons such as websites, songs and if you prefer, other conventional methods of language learning (books).

Personal Description:
I am a native Spanish speaking lawyer and notary public, having qualified and practiced in Costa Rica. I'm now a British citizen and have lived and worked in various countries both in the legal and teaching fields for a number of years.

I am friendly, outgoing and a very approachable person. I enjoy working with people of all ages; I also like cooking, dancing (especially salsa and reggae) and languages (English, Spanish, Italian and currently studying French). I love travelling, spending time with family and friends and meeting new people. I also have an adorable 3 year old son.

I believe that it's never too late to learn a new language, and with the right teaching approach and guidance both the young and the more mature students can learn to speak Spanish with confidence.

I would love to help you with the challenge of learning Spanish as I think it can enrich your life tremendously giving you the opportunity to experience new cultures and broaden your horizons.

Teaching Experience:

When I was a law student in Costa Rica I taught English to children in private weekend classes in a public school. For 5 years while overseas I taught Spanish to a number of adult students on a one to one basis. I have also acted as an official Spanish language interpreter and translator to the British Government overseas for 2 years. More recently, 2 years private tuition in London before relocating to Birmingham.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a professional and friendly approach and tailor lessons to meet the particular needs and pace of each student.

Given that these lessons are in your spare time, I try to make them as enjoyable and fun as possible. We will not only just discuss the weather, but practical topics that will be useful in day to day life and conversation will also be included - everything from showbiz gossip, football to politics or any other topic you wish to talk about.

- Going on holiday? You'll soon be ordering those other tasty specialities on the menu that are not just egg and chips.

- Do you have a school project or homework? I can help with that too.

- Want to improve your fluency? Let's get started.

Hasta pronto.

Personal Description:
I am British but have lived abroad most of my life. I recently resettled in the UK and am now living in Birmingham. I have a PhD in Ethnic and African Studies from a prestigious Brazilian university. In order to be accepted by the PhD programme, I had to demonstrate exceptional fluency in Portuguese, both written and oral. I was raised in Puerto Rico and have native-level fluency in Spanish. My BA in English from the University of California, Los Angeles (First/Hons) amply qualifies me to tutor in English literature.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently tutoring in English Language and Literature (GCSE and A-Level) and English as a Second Language (ESOL) in Birmingham and nearby cities. I taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Brazil for many years. I have also lectured in English and Translation at a Brazilian university.

Tutoring Approach:

I always attempt to establish a rapport with my students to keep them at ease, focussing on the positive before going on to point out areas where they could improve. I am aware that, especially when learning a foreign language, students can be extremely sensitive about making mistakes, so I use methods that are designed to be non-threatening and non-critical, but always constructive.

Personal Description:
I have many years of tutoring behind me and am currently studying for the Diploma in English Teaching to Adults.

I'm widely travelled and have spent many years living abroad. This has contributed to a high degree of fluency in Spanish and French. I acquire languages easily, being open to the cultures in which I find myself.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught exclusively in continental countries. One year in Finland, six years in Spain and two in Germany. In all cases the teaching took place in private schools or in company offices. Much of the teaching was 1 to 1, the rest being in small groups.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that language acquisition takes place when the learner is relaxed and so my approach may be considered informal. The choice of materials is a joint decision. Good classes can take place with or without them.

I also favour a communicative approach, which entails giving a needs analysis to all my learners.

Personal Description:
Native Spanish speaker. A self-motivated and hard working Spanish Teacher with experience designing lessons according to student's needs/requirements. I am able to identify learning difficulties and quickly adapt lessons to bring out the best for each one of the students. An effective communicator

Teaching Experience:

Company: PLAN INTERNATIONAL .Woking , Surrey
Freelance Spanish Teacher: Novice, beginners and intermediate Students
September 2006 - April 2007./ February 2008 - April 2008.

Chris Polatch Foreign Languages, Courses
Freelance Spanish Teacher: Novice, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Students - January 2008 up to now.

Private Tuition: July 2006 up to now.

April 2005 - March 2006 Freelance Spanish Teacher for novice, beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Institution: ILISA. Panama City - Panama

Tutoring Approach:

The communicative approach centered in developing students' skills and abilities is my preferred tutoring approach, but it depends on the students needs. In the first lesson there is an assessment of competence and a learning style evaluation so I can easily tailor the Spanish course according to the needs of the student.
In all cases, Spanish classes include grammar, written exercises, talking and listening, and the writing practices are carried out through the homework (optional)
Also important the mutual evaluation at the end of each class so that both student and myself can correct/improve something that is not going well in order to fulfill mutual expectations, and have an interesting, funny and efficient Spanish lesson every class.

With the exception of grammar explanations, all tutoring will be conducted in the language we are studying. We will be using all types of media: written exercises and activities, songs and films to help improve listening, reading and writing skills. Grammar will be revised every session and homework will be set. Tutoring can be tailored to personal requirements (i.e. extra help with written work vs. grammar) and work will only be set in accordance with what the student is currently learning at school so as not to overburden the student.

(I can teach grammar, but I consider that I can give to you material and you can do it at home, so we spend the time in the most important thing, conversation) In this way the student improve and learn spanish in a natural way. I can have all kind of conversation, like economy, sport, videogames, anime, manga, computers, animals, music, films, customs ... you can have a great time and at the same time you are learning spanish!!

Tutoring Approach:

For childrens I would like to focus the process in the motivation to learn, using real examples, draws and different materials that made it keep in a easy natural way in the mind.

I think that the teachers has to adapt everything depending of the children or adult. We have to take in count the hobbies and the personality of the persons and then, we have to choose the best way to guide them to have the most efficient way to learn.

I would like to focus teaching Spanish language but I am open to teach another kind of subject.

If you have any question, please feel free to contact me.

Personal Description:
I am originally from Valencia in Spain. I am a mum with two children and i have a lot of experience of working with young people. I have a full CRB check available on request and I have held a full clean licence for over 10 years and commuting is not an issue. I can also provide references from families. I enjoy teaching Spanish to all ages and preparing people for their Spanish adventure.

Teaching Experience:

I have 4 years teaching experience in England. I currently teach students from the ages of 6-18 years old. I am confident with the GCSE specifications here in the UK.I also have experience with preparing students to sit their Spanish exams in both A-level and GCSE. I am currently working in a Secondary school assisting students with their written and spoken Spanish. Previously I assisted in a primary school in their Spanish lessons.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer a fun approach to Spanish as I feel that adults and children alike learn better when they are having fun. I am also able to offer a Spanish cultural insite into the language many tutors are unable to, this is key to success in the GCSE exam as 25% is based on the Spanish culture.

Personal Description:
I am an English and Spanish Postgraduate Student with a Master's degree in Spanish and Teaching Foreign Languages. I am a Spanish native speaker but I was raised bilingually between Spain and the UK. I really enjoy teaching Spanish and English, since they are both part of my background.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Spanish and English privately for 5 years. This private tuition consisted in one-to-one or small group classes. I also taught Spanish at West Virginia University (USA) for two academic years and English at a Language School in Spain for two years. In these contexts, classes were bigger, from 5 to 25 students per class. I currently teach Spanish Language and Literature at University of London.

Tutoring Approach:

I always try to adapt my teaching method to the student's preferences and learning style, but I think it is very important to promote communication in the target language as much as possible during the lesson. This makes students more confident and also facilitates language acquisition greatly. It is also essential to make the lesson as entertaining and dynamic as possible, because if the student is enjoying the lesson, they will learn more easily and quickly.

Personal Description:
I am a young spanish guy living in London, i came to this city to improve my English because im studying to be a teacher (English specialty). Its a 4 years degree in the International University of La Rioja (Spain) and i complement my studies working part-time in a famous clothing store.
Five years ago i finished my Economics degree (4 years) in University of La Corua (Spain) and also i did a course about Stock Market Analysis in University of La Corua. I received a State scholarship to work in an Italian international company, where i had the chance to learn Italian as well. I did an Italian course in the Tourism School of Rimini (Italy).
I decided to star my teacher degree and change my personal career because i feel that its my vocation, i love to learn about everything and have the chance to pass on my knowledge to others. Its something really pleasant.
As additional information i can say that im a quite person, very patient and i love the sports, im a sportsmen and i did the course to be a monitor leisure activities which has given me the opportunity to deal with many children and teach them so many different activities such as: Archery, kayak, canoeing and rowing...
Other information of interest is that i was football coach during 6 years in a Spanish football team, dealing with children between 5 and 12 years old. It was a good experience to learn how i can motivate the children to achieve their objectives.

Teaching Experience:

Ive been working as a Spanish teacher in a language academy during 6 months, teaching people from Germany, France, and UK... (Adult people)
Also I've worked in a Primary School during 1 year as an English teaching assistant, teaching children aged between 3 and 9.
Apart from that i worked as a private tutor teaching different subject such as maths, English, economy, geography, history and Spanish. Teaching to students between 6 and 15 years old.

Tutoring Approach:

About my teaching philosophy, i believe that the student has to understand the problems and no just memorize. I always try to explain the subjects adapting the concepts to the real life, like that, the student will remember better the explanation.
For language classes i try to combine grammar, vocabulary and conversation. The conversation is one of the most important part to gain confidence and to speak fluently another language.
I always try to motivate the students to face the subject like something interesting and funny for them.
Concerning my availability im available Monday to Friday after 4:00 pm and weekends could also be negotiated. Im glad to tutor in my home or commute to your place or find another location.
