Last year I have graduated International Baccalaureate programme, now I am studying Management and economics on University of Sheffield. I enjoy many sports, like table tennis, tennis, football, volleyball and also self defence.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching children for 3 years now, mostly at the age of 5 till 14. I treat each pupil separately, because I believe that everybody has his or her own pace of knowledge acquisition. The most valuable experience for me was 2 years ago when I was teaching a group of pupils in an organisation which was helping pupils with disabilities.

I am 30 years old I have a degree in Fine Art, teach Yoga to children and adults, paint portraits and speak French fluently. Quite a mouthful when people ask "and what do YOU do?!" I believe in the importance of life experience over text books and tick boxes.

I spent 2007 traveling and working in South America and for 4 years prior to that I lived in Paris. I moved to Brighton one year ago to be closer to my boyfriend and I currently live with a friend and her two young children. I enjoy cooking, gardening (although limited to carrots, beans and potatoes in pots on the decking this year!) and I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

I am located in Southampton and teach specially in Maths and Physics subjects at all levels up to and including A-Levels. I have a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering, a Master Degree (MSc) in Systems Engineering, and a First Degree (BEng, honours) in Electronics Engineering; and have been tutoring for many years across many levels.

As for Self-Defence Courses, I am a Master 4th Dan Black Belt Tae Kwon Do instructor with more than 25 years teaching experience for all age and ability groups.

Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring Maths and Physics classes for more than 27 years for all levels up to A-Level, in addition to preparations for specialised University Entrance Examinations and special recovery modules. This led me to working in the documentary television production industry for a year and a half in London before I decided to return to Plymouth to pursue a more academic career in Deep Sea and Fisheries Management. My masters also included the study of Philosophy of science, sociology of science, narrative, and film studies.

I'm an outdoorsy optomist, with a love for nature. I have climbed Mount Elgon's 4321m in Uganda, and done a cage dive with Great White Sharks in South Africa. And I'm Scottish. :)

Teaching Experience:
I have informal teaching experience turoting friends and family and have enjoyed it so much that I'm hoping to do more. I'm also a big sister who still regularly aids her little sis in her university work.

Whilst on a World Challenge Expedition to Uganda in 2001, I spent a week teaching English as a foreign language to a class of over 60 Ugandan children of various ages. This was one of the most incredible experiences of my life!

I have been trusted with the training of staff whilst working as a bar manager and whilst working in television production I spent several months running for BBC's Last Choir Standing where I would be in sole charge of a choir of children or adults and had to inform and lead them through their diary of appointments.

Concerning self-defence, I am a 1st Dan (black belt) in Aikido and have three years experience of teaching multi-level classes to all ages.

Tutoring Approach:
I have a fairly informal technique, encouraging discussion and trying to tailor my teaching style to whatever I find my pupil to be receptive to. I myself love to learn so will try to find ways to make my student connect with the fun that can be found in every subject.

Personal Description:
Currently, I am studying Law with American Legal systems at the UEA in Norwich. I believe I am fun to be around and find I make friends easily. In my chosen subject area, I achieved A grade in both English subjects (Lit & Lang), History and P.E at G.C.S.E, as well as A's in Eng lang, History & P.E at A-level.

In terms of the self defense training I can offer, I have a 1st Dan (Black belt) in Shotokan karate and have been practicing this for 8 years now. I enjoy karate as it requires discipline and focus and is something that I can dedicate time and effort to whilst also improving myself as a person. Learning a martial art also can help improve self-confidence. I am able to teach a variety of practical self defence techniques for use against single or multiple attackers and can adapt the practices taught in Karate to almost any situation.

I consider myself patient and understanding, I have no problem spending as long as is necessary to get to grips with difficult subject material.

Teaching Experience:
I have tutored in English Language now for several months.

At my previous grammar school I helped with 'afterschool homework club' and also assisted my mother for several years on free afternoons at the Primary school she taught at.

I have also coached Hockey at club level and Karate up to Black belt standard, so have a range of experience in 'teaching' roles.

Tutoring Approach:
I find that patience and dedication go a long way when it comes to learning any subject to a high level. I am happy to spend as long as possible on any topic revising and finding ways to make it easily digestable and understandable. I have also attended several study skill lectures at University .

I am flexible in my teaching methods and have found that often it is just finding the right formula for learning to apply to any form of education, once you have the right method the rest is easy.

Being a young person myself, I have found it is easier to relate to the students I teach. Having recently gone through the stress of A-levels and the university procedure myself, I can understand first hand the need to do well at school and the pressures placed on you.

I am Austrian and I have extensive academic and professional experience both in German and English. I graduated from the University of Vienna in law and I am about to complete my second law degree at BPP Law School here in London. Prior to my studies, I was a professional judo athlete, representing Austria at a World Cup tournament.

I enjoy working with people and languages have always been of great interest to me. As a result, I have taught German to English speaking adults on a private basis to complement my studies at University. I worked with both clients at beginner level and with advanced language skills.

I put of a lot of emphasis on repetition and try to encourage the tutee's genuine interest for the subject as much as possible. I use all sorts of learning aids, depending on what study type the particular tutee is. However, I tend to refrain from using Powerpoint presentations as I take the view that they are distracting.
