I am a law graduate who has considers teaching to be a passion. After qualifying from Bristol Univeristy with an LL.B. (Hons) I have attempted to specialise in teaching both children and young adults - including those who require a service to excel in their subjects, or those who feel they need a helping hand.

Asides from teaching, my principle interest is writing. I am currently writing a series of short stories, in the hope of eventual publication . I have accumulated several years of experience working with children in both tutoring and mentoring roles. Throughout 2003/04, I tutored a child at Culver's House Primary School, Hackbridge, as part of its local council's "Young and Gifted" programme. I also spent time as a supervisor at the "International Children's Village", run by the London Borough of Sutton. This was a summer school in a boarding school environment, over a fortnight, in 2003. Throughout 2009 I have tutored a number of students in a variety of subjects including Law at degree level, English at Advanced Level and English as a second language.

I dont believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach to tutoring. Everyone is different, and different people need different approaches to make the most out of their learning experience. The key is to find the right approach for each person.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and cheerful individual who has just finished studying the LPC at the College of Law in Moorgate. In 2008, I graduated from the University of St.Andrews with a 2:1 in Ancient History. Tutoring Approach:
Whilst I have not tutored before, I have had considerable experience helping individuals from past law work experience at city law firms, and have fresh insight as to what it is like being a student .I would be free to help an individual with tuition starting from the middle of September . Whilst at St Andrews University , I did modules in History of Art, Philosophy, Ethics and Philosophy of Religion so would be comfortable teaching up until first year of university in these subjects.

Having studied Ancient History , I would also be willing to assist with classical studies whether it be on the works of Homer or Petronious . In addition to this, at A-level I studied modern, medieval and georgian history. For English, I would be happy to help with English literature. I averaged 73% at St.Andrews University where I completed two semesters of English literature. Whether a student needs a boost before a forthcoming examination or help on a particular topic, I would do my upmost to ensure that the student is reassured. Tutoring Approach:
I believe that all too often students do not achieve their full potential through mainstream schooling. Students can get left behind if they don't understand things and are afraid to speak up and sometimes teachers overlook the finer points of some areas which can leave students confused. With having been through the school system not too long ago myself I know that this happens all too often.
Tutoring can fill the gaps that school leaves and help students further their knowledge so that they do achieve their potential.
In tutoring students my approach would be to break down the subjects into separate areas and concentrate on those areas one by one and highlight any weak points in the students knowledge to ensure that these were focused on. Furthermore, this could be further strengthened with the use of past examination papers or past examination questions on any problem areas.

I think that homework should only be set if it is necessary, if the student has shown a clear and solid understanding of the subject then it may not always be required.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is two fold. I feel it is very important for my students to be relaxed and enjoy the tuition they receive in order for them to retain the information they are learning and be able to use it in the future.
