Teaching Experience:
I have 10 years teaching experience, and have taught Years 7 to 13 (with the bulk of my teaching in Years 12 and 13). I have also tutored a number of other students through A-Levels and GCSEs.

I have recently relocated to Chester, but prior to this I worked in 2 schools in Essex, where I became Head of Biology.

I have been successfully through two OFSTED inspections, and have been a mentor to a number of trainee teachers.

Tutoring Approach:
I like to make links between Science and modern culture. Many aspects of Science make it into films and the media, and these provide focal points for discussions (whether the Science is correct or not!). I believe that this makes the content more applicable and memorable.

As a practicing teacher, I have a good knowledge of the Science curriculum, and am also aware of misconceptions shown by many students. I try to address these areas, in addition to the areas requested by the tutee.

I like to use Powerpoint presentations during tutoring. These Powerpoints are linked to the National Curriculum and offer visual stimuli and multimedia resources.

I love all the main subjects in a proper curriculum! I was originally born in Canada, and have been living in the UK for twenty-three years (my parents brought me over as a teenager). I went to a Canadian high-school, took GSCE maths and A levels in North Wales, and went on to study in Manchester. I am a real teacher! Teaching Experience:
I have been a tutor for the past eleven years. In terms of classroom experience, I have held positions in Montessori schools (nursery), and have been a substitute teacher (or "cover supervisor") covering all subjects in English comprehensive schools.

Tutoring Approach:
The idea of hierarchy is essential to my teaching. One must learn from the concrete to the abstract in order to have one's knowledge grounded in reality, as opposed to disjointed, floating ideas. The subject of history, aside from being an essential subject in itself, is a helpful pedagogical tool. History provides a natural hierarchy for the learning of mathematics and the sciences. History also provides a background and context for the appreciation of literature.

I am a 22 year old student, currently undertaking my final year of an Engineering degree at the University of Leeds. I have an unyielding thirst for knowledge which drives me to delve into new areas of learning all the time. Teaching Experience:
Since my late teens, I have mainly taught the guitar and music theory. I have taught pupils of a very wide age range from 8-21 and developed a good understanding of how to convey concepts and information to someone without being condescending or patronising. I was doing this as a full-time income prior to arriving at university and have kept it up on a smaller scale since. Since then I have helped many friends with gaps in their knowledge to aid them in their degree studies, and I now wish to pursue this as a career move once more. I feel that the communication skills I have gained from previous teaching coupled with my firm understanding of secondary level maths and physics will help me to effectively and successfully pass on that knowledge to other people.

Tutoring Approach:
As a tutor, my job is to pass on knowledge, to educate, and to aid understanding. It is not my job to mould a child, to patronise them, or in any way reign over them. I'm studying for a BA in Philosophy at the University of Cambridge, but I'm currently taking a year out. I'm eager to do tutoring in the meantime, and am considering a career in teaching. I have an avid interest in the sciences, as well as in philosophy, and am therefore offering GCSE-level tuition in chemistry, physics and maths (at varying rates according to the extent of my qualifications). My experience of tutoring is fairly wide-ranging, and I have an excellent success rate in helping my students to achieve their desired grades.

Teaching Experience:
I've taught students of a variety of ages and abilities, from basic KS3 French, through GCSE (Higher) Science, to AS level Maths and A-level Philosophy. I think that this has provided me with a good understanding of the needs of different students, and has allowed me to tailor my teaching style to each individual. I also have experience of tutoring small groups of GCSE level pupils, and I taught GCSE Maths for six weeks at the Open Academy in Norwich.

Tutoring Approach:
I don't have a "set approach" to tutoring- I think it is of utmost importance to consider the individual requirements of the student. I therefore offer sessions of varying lengths according to the wishes of the students, and discuss the aims of their tuition in the first session. After the first lesson, I compile a rough plan of work for future sessions, in accordance with the information given by the student. I generally favour a personal approach- verbal discussion of issues/arguments (in Philosophy) and problems (in Sciences), rather than endlessly setting exercises. I do, however, have access to various resources, and use these to supplement discussion where appropriate. I often set a small amount of "homework" to consolidate the work we've done in a session, but this will be discussed with the student. I've had very positive feedback on my approach to tutoring, and I hope that all my students find me clear, friendly and helpful.

Some how some children are back sitters in class rooms, slow learners or neglected by the teachers. It creates a problem for parents to look for a tutor as a helper , specially when they,themselves,have no full approach towards the subject .

In this busy life parents are not able to spare time to teach their own kids.

I'm Kate and I have a BSc in Earth System Science from Keele university. I love my subjects, and study a wide range of Earth sciences. With this background, i look a lot at the links between disciplines, how everything works together, the big picture. This perspective can bring subjects that at first seem flat and uninteresting to life, by relating them to their wider contexts. I have travelled studying through Iceland and Italy, as well as around the UK.

Teaching Experience:
I occasionally sit with first year university students and help them work through their modules, as well as leading study groups. I also spend a lot of time with adult friends from other disciplines, helping to explain topics such as climate change, or volcanism.
I also run educational workshops in local high schools, teaching market economics, entrepreneurship and business skills.

Tutoring Approach:
My education has led me always to look at the relationships between areas of study, for instance, the ocean has currents and the atmosphere has currents, but how do these affect one another? or how does volcanism affect climate change? Being able to relate an area of study to the world around it is a real passion of mine, and i believe that it reinforces a topic from many angles, and can really bring it to life.
