| Personal Description: I am currently studying Dentistry at University, and therefore I am very well aware of what is required in early secondary schools as well as what is needed in GCSE's and A-Levels, having got A*'s at GCSE and A's at A-Level. Teaching has always been a passion of mine as I feel knowledge is a wealth that should be shared. |
Teaching Experience: Have worked on Personal Service Groups with many schools in the Birmingham area, especially primary schools where I have taught some children with learning disabilities too. Having done personal tutoring before with many students who have all gone on to do exceedingly well in their 11+ exams (getting into the grammar school of their choice e.g. King Edwards Camp Hill, King Edwards Five Ways, King Edwards Handsworth for Girls etc...), and many GCSE students ( students boasting A*'s in particular the Chem, Biology, Physics). |
Tutoring Approach: My personal approach would be to see the level that the child is at, and from their assess the best way forward, as something I know very well is that every child is different and will therefore have a different style of learning. If a child learns by examples I would apply every example that can be done to that task and from their look to apply their knowledge in a different question to see if they understand, and the level to which they understand. However my final aim will be to push the childs ability to the max so they can eventually reap the benefits. |

| Personal Description: I am a formulation chemistry graduate and have been working in banking for since graduation. I currently tutor biology, chemistry and physics on the weekends. I have trained teams of staff up to 20 strong and have worked with individuals from many backgrounds. I feel my strength comes from being able to convey complex ideas in simple forms for anyone to understand |
Teaching Experience: Tutoring 14 to 16 year olds in a tutoring centre. I tutor chemistry, biology and physics, for AQA and EDEXCEL syllubi. |
Tutoring Approach: I approach each class the same as I would a training session for my staff at the bank. | Personal Description: I am a former science technician, working in clinical research labs on projects linked to Cancer Research and Addison's disease, who started tutoring and then teaching as a means of support while completing academic studies. |
Teaching Experience: I started as a private tutor in 2004 and then became a visiting lecturer in A level Biology at Sutton Coldfield college where I also taught Anatomy and Physiology for holistic therapy and Access to Teaching (level 3 science) courses. I have since worked as a supply teacher in the West Midlands, providing cover for absence in a number of secondary schools and as a part time lecturer in Biology (A level) at Solihull sixth form college. As part of my PGCE studies, I have also had experience in KS2 teaching (all primary subjects including literacy and numeracy preparation for KS2 SATs). |
Tutoring Approach: The most effective approach to tutoring varies depending on the student, the problem and the resources available. Therefore, I tend to assess each appointment on a case by case basis. The most common approach is to assess the areas of the subject in which the student is having the most problems and review what teaching has already been given in that area by looking through exercise books. This is followed by working through these problem areas, filling in any gaps in knowledge and discussing methods for revision and exam technique. Also offer review and advice on essays, assignments and other coursework. This can be done either in person or online (tutee sends files in appropriate formats and recieves e-mail with comments and suggestions for improvement). |

I have had main responsibility for AS/A2 chemistry teaching at a large state school and I have also had pastoral experience as a form tutor for Year 10, Year 11 and Year 7 classes. Passionately committed to all my students and offering experience of teaching students with a wide range of abilities. Teaching Experience: Qualified teacher with 5 years experience of teaching in state schools. I have taught in an inner city school envirionment and have also taught students of high ability in an 'outstanding' school achieving 100% 5A*-C GCSE passes. Experience of teaching at KS3, 4 and 5. AQA GCSE science (separate sciences, dual award, core science, additional science and additional applied). At AS/A2 level I have taught chemistry (OCR Salters and OCR). I am an established teacher on the Salters chemistry camps for GCSE students and have been accepted as an assistant examiner for the OCR examination board. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is to offer assistance which is student-led wherever possible. Each session should encourage the student that progress is being made, that classroom teaching has been re-enforced and that scientific concepts have been understood fully. |

| Personal Description: I graduated in 2009 from the University of Cambridge as a master of Natural Sciences. As part of my four year degree I spent the first two years studying a range of science subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Metallurgy and also Mathematics. In my final two years I specialised in Materials Science and Metallurgy which allowed me to continue using and build on my knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. I would therefore feel confident in tutoring these subjects up to A-level standard. I have been raised bilingual in German and so am able to tutor this as well. My motivation for tutoring is to help people learn more and become more interested in the Physical Sciences, Mathematics and German. I hope that my academic studies so far will be useful in helping others in their studies. |
Teaching Experience: My teaching experience comes from helping friends and family members during their times of studying. I enjoy helping people to understand whatever it is they are studying. I hope that as I tutor my tutoring standards will also continually improve. |
Tutoring Approach: I will adopt a flexible approach to tutoring. I can discuss the needs of any tutees and thus tailor my tutoring to specific cases. Whether help is needed with specific topics, or a general course is needed I will be able to provide help. |

| Personal Description: I am a passionate, confident and energetic private tutor who can ensure your child achieves their expected level if not higher. I have an excellent tutoring record from boosting pupil confidence so that they can perform better in exams and coursework to pupils passing selective entrance exams thereby achieving their ambitions. I am realistic and set measurable yet challenging targets for my private students. I strongly believe in that if a student works hard and is dedicated, they will achieve their ambitions and desires. I have and always will endeavour to deliver at the highest level to achieve this. |
Teaching Experience: I have worked in primary and secondary schools since I was reading for my Biochemistry degree at King's College London. I have worked as a school mentor and teaching assistant before embarking on my teacher training course. I have gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education Studies qualification from Keele University. As part of this course, I had placements in 3 different schools both primary and secondary. I have been a private tutor since 2002. Despite being new to this role, I'm very energetic and full of ideas which have guaranteed success. Being young is advantageous as I can motivate your child to perform at their best if not higher. |
Tutoring Approach: Confident, dedicated and passionate approach, using a wide range of teaching methods tailored to how your pupil learns. My lessons are enjoyable and exciting, which I feel is important so that the pupil doesn't lose interest. I also have the ability to adapt the pace of the lessons thereby sustaining the pupils attention and concentration. I use a wide range of resources depending on the level of study. For example, for a GCSE Maths student, as part of their homework, I assign sufficient GCSE exam-style questions right from the beginning so that the pupil is able to come to terms with the standard required of them. I use a wide range of textbooks and other literature as appropriate. I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which I use to ensure parents are aware of their child's progress and to inform them of my future lessons. |

| Personal Description: I am married and Iive with my wife and two daughters in Birmingham. We are Asian Indian and I can speak both English and Gujarati languages. My hobbies are watching cinema and eating out. |
Teaching Experience: I am a newly qualified teacher in 2010, however, I am an enthusiastic expert in teaching theoretical physics up to pre-university level. In my spare time I run the pre-university physics blog on the internet. Goto to google and search for physicsxyz then visit my web site, there you can contact me directly. |
Tutoring Approach: The benefits of having a tutor can be numerous: * Improve your grades * Increase self confidence * Develop knowledge and understanding * Provide continuing support and advice * Exam preparation Learn in friendly and relaxed atmosphere at my residential address in the living room on leather sofas or if you prefer we can study on the dining room table. Adhere to an exam board syllabus or specification of your choice. Professional and enthusiastic tuition with wireless broadband internet access on site so you can bring your own laptop. Honest and frank advice. Payment for tuition required in advance of lesson in order to discourage absence. Set realistic targets to improve grades. Personal log book given to each student to keep track of progress. Provide monthly review. Student to provide his/her own stationary. Private tuition on a one-to-one basis or in a small group is clearly the most productive way to learn. Private tuition can be used help your child catch up after temporarily falling behind, to learn a subject outside the school environment, to stretch your child further or give closer attention to the needs of your child than is possible in a classroom environment. I can offer a number of benefits for your child, including raising levels of school performance, but also helping a child to increase their confidence, enjoyment and motivation in a subject. The extra focus and tailored attention of specialised one-to-one private tuition can be the decisive factor that will make the difference to successful learning and good exam grades, ensuring that you or your child is able to gain the most benefit from their mainstream educational activities and fulfil their academic potential. |
