With that in mind I consider myself to be a very practical person able to do most DIY jobs - something that I am well known for within my work place and amongst friends. If it breaks- call Hayley!
I have a positive outlook on life and this is reflected in my teaching.
I'm also a very patient and understanding person and I hope that these qualities make me a good parent, friend and teacher.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 10 years experience in the primary sector working mostly with key stage 2 children.
I currently work full time as a year 3 teacher and so offer my children learning experiences in all primary curriculum subjects.
I am responsible for the science curriculum within my school and It is my job to ensure continuity and progression across the board in this subject.
I have worked with children from all different backgrounds and with varied abilities.
I can effectively educate children with varying needs including behavioural and emotional difficulties, SEN children , EAL children and MAT children.
Within my current class of 28 children I have 10 EAL children inc 3 non speakers , 3 SEN and 3 MAT. These children come from all walks of life and I have been effectively educating children like this for over 10 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a positive approach to life and to tutoring. I am well aware that some children will be reluctant to receive additional help and some children will absolutely relish it! The approach your child receives will depend entirely on their reaction to me tutoring them. Everyone is different and once the relationship between myself- the tutor and your child- the student is established then we can have a productive learning experience each session.
I am able to provide a varied approach- hands on work, mental work, written work depending on what the student requires.
I am very familiar with the end of key stage requirements and will be able to cater lessons to ensure we achieve a realistic outcome and see genuine improvements within the subject area being taught.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently a graduate teaching assistant at the Universityof Kent and I teach chemistry/forensic classes to students in their foundation year up to students in their final year of their bachelor degree. I am also enrolled on an ATAP (Associate Teacher Accreditation Programme) course which run for 1 year and after completion I will most likely enrol into the PGCHE course. Moreover, I undertook a KS3/4 Mathematics teaching placement at a secondary school in broadstairs. My mother is a primary teacher and i used to assist her in teaching during private tuitions and at the school in which she works. Sometimes she used to leave the class on my responsibility. The kids loved me as a teacher.
Also, I worked for Kumon Learning Centre as a maths teaching assistant where I was in charge of various keystages students,starting from basic maths, which is learning how to count, up to GCE A-Level maths. However, my area of expertise is in O-Level and A-Level maths.

Tutoring Approach:

i believe that the best way to learn is not through rote learning. If the student does not understand when i explain something, i'll find different ways and contexts to explain it and i'll keep doing this until i am satisfied that the student is confident of himself/herself and that he/she can explain it to somebody who has no knowledge on that subject.

As a supply teaching assistant in primary schools I would be a competent tutor for younger children, giving additional help with reading/writing/maths and other subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a supply teaching assistant for over a year and a half and have often visited up to three different schools a week. This means I am very experienced in meeting and working with new children. In schools I do anything from reading The Gruffalo to teaching maths and am sometimes put in sole charge of classrooms. I regularly work one to one with children with learning difficulties. In addition to this, I have led multiple primary school drama workshops on everything from little red riding-hood to The Odyssey.

Along side this, I tutored a 5 year old boy for about a year and then started tutoring his younger brother in basic numeracy and literacy. I am also tutoring a year 5 girl in maths and have tutored a 7 year old boy in drama. References from parents would be available.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy working creatively and will tailor learning to the particular interests of the pupil if necessary as I feel that this makes the work more interesting and meaningful for them. Personal Description:
It has been an ambition of mine to become a Secondary School teacher since I was in Primary School. I have always had an interest in Mathematics, Chemistry and especially in Physics. Whilst I was in school I was always asking the question "Why?". I always wanted to know more about how something worked, whether it was how a radio worked or how a light bulb was able to light up a room. It was this fascination, along with some very inspirational figures, with the world around me that led me for years in the pursuit of more knowledge, to find more answers and have a greater understanding of the things that surrounded me. It is for this reason that I decided to study a Physics based degree, to learn about the Universe and how it works.

I am currently a third year student studying Astrophysics MPhys at the University of Liverpool and LJMU. Upon completion of my course I wish to complete a PhD before training to become a secondary school Mathematics/Physics teacher.

I have decided to become a private tutor in my free time to gain experience in teaching which is the profession I am determined to go into. I am able to travel but I would have to add additional expenses onto the cost of the lesson due to the low prices that I am charging. I will do this as fairly as I am able and the additional charge would only be dependant on the miles travelled.

Teaching Experience:

Upon completion of my A-Levels I decided to work voluntarily in a local Secondary School. I worked there for approximatly 5 weeks in the capacity of a Mathematics teaching assistant. I worked with students of all abilities ranging from the age of 10 (On several Open Days) to 16. Before I could work an Enhanced CRB was carried out by the school, this is still in date and is available upon request to any parent/guardian who wishes to see it. It shows that I do not have a criminal record of any kind. My qualification certificates are also available upon request.

Of course to many, my age and lack of experience and qualifications, could be seen as a negative attribute, however, I see this as being positive as it was not long ago that I was in the students position. I feel this puts me in a unique position where I would be able to communicate in a way where the student can understand.

Tutoring Approach:

All students are unique. This said the approach to tutoring them will be unique to each pupil. Firstly I would like to see the students past reports so I can see how the student is performing, this will aid me in developing a plan to teach the student. I would like the first meeting to be between myself, the pupil and the parent/guardian and we can discuss what needs assessing, this will also allow me to get to know the pupil in a stress free environment. This of course will not be charged unless I am required to travel in which case I will only charge a travelling expense as detailed above. I invite the parent or guardian to sit in in all lessons.

Once I have assessed the students ability, together with the student we can come up with achievable but challenging milestones. The most important thing is that the student enjoys learning, I will therefore try my utmost to make the lessons fun (Something that for some reason can't be done in a traditional class room) whilst still making them challenging so that progress can be made.

Being born in Italy from Italian parents, I'm a native Italian speaker. I have lived in the UK since I was 6 years old, I attended the European School in Culham, near Oxford, before moving to London for university.
I am a friendly and outgoing person, when I'm not busy with uni work I like to be in the company of friends, enjoy cinema, live music and playing/watching sports, particularly football and squash.

Teaching Experience:

Over my first two years at university, I helped some As and A-level students from my old school, especially during their exam period (i.e.: one on one revision sessions, helping out with coursework and writing sets of revision notes) in Maths, Biology and Physics.
Early in 2011 I joined the Blue Tutors agency, where my teaching skills were assessed and received full accreditation.
In October 2013 I did weekly one-on-one GCSE maths lessons for the month leading up to an exam. As well as the lessons I made revision notes for the student, whose mark increased from C- to B.
From January to April 2014 I was Project Coordinator and voluntary teacher in weekly extra curricular activity "Code Club", a basic computer programming workshop at Pimlico Academy. Generally about a dozen 13-14 year old students attended.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is generally quite friendly: I believe that at a subconscious level, a student will be much more inclined to listen to and learn from a person they trust and appreciate. However, I also believe the teaching style must be suited to the student, and largely depends on the subject being taught.
A particular technique which I have learnt from Blue Tutors and have tried to implement ever since, is to try and lead the student to the answer by asking the right questions, rather than just giving him the answer.

I am a Canadian studying abroad here in Glasgow and therefore do not have GCSEs or A levels, but I have the equivalent levels from Canadian institutions with top marks. I have several years of teaching experience in different settings and with different age groups. I've taught English as a Second Language in a camp setting which ran lessons similar to classroom lessons every morning. I had to design my own approaches to various topics which gave me a lot of practice in making studying and learning interesting and easier for children who were less interested or struggling. I also tutored on a private basis for primary school-aged children through the medium of French and English in reading and writing skills as well as the general subjects at that age. I have tutored at the secondary school level in Maths, English, French, Sciences, and History. I have also been a teaching assistant at the University level for both Irish and Scottish Gaelic second language courses as well as a general Celtic World knowledge course.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning should be fun.
Aim is to help student learn how they understand instruction so that they are more confident in their own abilities and can perform better in the future.
Use past work to improve on future work.

Learning should be fun and I strive to make the tutoring experience less about school work and more about understanding the ways in which what is being taught is of interest to the student. Finding ways to improve the student's understanding and learning experience sometimes means approaching the material in a different way than is being taught in class. Teachers understand that not all student learn the same way but cannot always deliver their teaching in all these ways. By helping the student understand the material first and then explaining the method the teacher used to explain it first allows the student to reach their full potential, understand the material, and go back to class with a better chance following the teacher's instruction.

All of this is done in a light-mannered way that does not make the child feel as though tutoring is a punishment for not understanding in class, but rather, a (sometimes lengthy) temporary situation until the student becomes more confident about his or her own skills!

Using the student's own work is an important tool for helping them recognize their own areas of difficulty and should be used again as mock exams to help the student see tangible proof of their improvements. The best understanding of any subject comes from watching it being done/having it explained, doing it oneself, and then teaching it in turn.

I am really confident in Math and Physics.I got 'S'(the highest rank) in the Sixth Term Examination Papers which is known as one of the hardest Mathematics examination in Cambridge. Though I haven't tutored any English student, I have tutored Chinese A-level students for Maths. And I taught English and Math for primary students in China every week for almost 1 year.

Tutoring Approach:

Before the first class, I would like to communicate with the student to see which way he/she prefers and his/her aims.
As for students and adults who would like to learn Mandarin as a second or third language, I recommend more conversations during the class and do some readings and writings as well.
For those who study for exams, such A-level exams, I would like to change the approaches according to students' needs. Sometimes students may have no idea at one whole topic, I would like to introduce the topic from the beginning to the end. At the other times, students gain the knowledge well but miss points easily. I recommend to do some past exams during the tutorial and I would explain why the marks are lost.

Teaching Experience:

For the last four years I have successfully tutored many young students through the 11+ entrance exam, as well as students working towards GCSE and A level exams. This experience has allowed me to develop my one to one tutoring style, as has my own personal experience of tutorials at Oxford, where I was taught by many gifted academics. I also enjoy teaching larger groups in environments such as schools and workshops.

Tutoring Approach:

When I am tutoring, I aim to provide clarity as well as bringing the subject material to life. Being flexible, and catering to the different learning styles of my students is really important to me, but within this I will still maintain a systematic and methodical approach to the learning process. For example, in a typical lesson, I will discuss some relevant theory with the student, resolving any misconceptions and identifying any areas of confusion. Then, I will work through a carefully selected problem with them, guiding them step by step through to the answer, which has the dual purpose of providing them with a worked solution that they can use for revision purposes. Finally, I will give them a few similar questions to tackle under my supervision, until they able to solve the problems independently.

Most of my students are taught on a weekly basis for 60, 90 or 120 minute sessions, depending on what is required. Work between my sessions is an essential way of consolidating the material covered in my sessions. Normally, this will consist of a few exam problems that focus on further application of relevant theory. I will always prioritise quality over quantity when it comes to setting extra work so as to never get in the way of the student's existing workload.

Self-motivation and willingness to work hard outside as well as in my sessions will ensure the success that my students aspire to.
