Personal Description:
I am a parent and therefore understand the value of ensuring that children get the very best of education especially when they are still young. I have also had professional experience in two sectors of an economy (Automobile Marketing and Banking) and currently enrolled full time for an MBA. My experiences will therefore be quite useful to my business related students. My hobbies include watching and playing football, music, reading novels and watching movies.

Teaching Experience:

I had taught for over 5 years before taking full time professional employment. I presently give tutorials to colleagues who are having a hard time keeping up with the MBA programme.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is simple. I start by gaining the trust of my student through series of informal talks before the day's session as this helps the student to see me as a friend in whom he/she can trust. One trust is established, the student is confident to relate the areas he/she is having a challenge and we can take it up from there.

Personal Description:
I have always had a very approachable manner as a teacher as I have always believed that this is the best way to relax a pupil and make their mind more pliable to different approaches. I fully understand that mathematics can be a challenge, and this I believe is where my very patient and empathetic demeanour can produce results quickly and restore a pupil's self-belief. I am thorough in my preparation, professional in my presentation of written materials, and prompt and comprehensive with marking. I will be reliable, wholly courteous, and totally focused on the pupil's development.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a qualified teacher since 2006. From 2005 to 2012 I taught at Swansea College (now, Gower College Swansea) on a range of programmes including BTEC courses, GCSE and A-level Mathematics. While at Swansea College I continued tutoring mathematics privately, building my knowledge of the demands of Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, and developing a range of strategies to effectively teach those specifications.

Tutoring Approach:

I strongly believe that mathematics is based on a number of core principles, and success in mathematics depends on a concrete understanding of these principles rather than rote learning of topics. My private tutoring sessions are always designed around the effective delivery of these principles. I am always flexible in my approach, and I understnd that a pupil's attention may be distracted by something that they remember they have covered in a formal lesson. However, my commitment to ensuring that the principles are understood will not change. My lessons last for 1 hour and 20 minutes, and incorporate a 5-minute introduction to the objectives for that session, 1 full hour of teaching and a 15-minute review at the end.

Personal Description:
UPDATE: I have now tutored 5 people and all have been very impressed and got good results! I have tutored 2 girls, 1 of which was a recommendation by the parents of the other, and 3 boys, as well as family members (brothers and cousins). The first I taught was A Level Maths and the second was GCSE, and they both felt they did ALOT better thanks to my input. They understood the way I explained things much better than their teachers and we created notes from past papers etc that they could use as a revision tool before exams and between tutor sessions.

My name is Sam and I currently work as a designer/engineer in the renewables industry. I graduated from a degree in Civil Engineering meaning I am extremely good with Maths and Physics especially. I am 28 years of age and young at heart which I believe means I can relate to the children much better and teach them in a way they can understand, as well as making it enjoyable. I believe this keeps the children interested rather than it seeming like a chore. I don't take myself too seriously and feel I would become more like a friend to the child that they can ask anything and know they will not be made to feel stupid or undermined. I am a very polite and well spoken person who tends to get on with everyone and I really enjoy teaching. I have three younger brothers and am also the oldest of my many cousins, meaning I have alot of experience in dealing with children with a more friendly, relaxed approach. I am also keen to make a difference in their lives and therefore will be taking the work very seriously, making sure you and your children get the results they deserve. I am very good at verbally explaining difficult problems and I feel I have an advantage over other more professional tutors as I will be able to relate to the children better and make learning fun, which I believe it should be.

Teaching Experience:

Tutored boys and girls both A Level and GCSE Mathematics with good results.

Tutoring Approach:

As stated above, as a younger but very qualified tutor, I feel I would be able to relate and get on better with children and I believe this would make the teaching much more easier and relaxed, if the child knows they can ask me absolutely anything without feeling stupid or undermined, as I know how that can feel especially in a room full of other students, hence the need for tutoring and hence why I think I would be perfect for the job.

I like to use past papers and would request that they have past papers for the relevant exam board, although I can obtain these if your child doesn't have any.

I really look forward to hearing from you, as I would really like to pass on my skills to future generations and really make a difference to their lives in the long term. Thank you,

Sam

Personal Description:
Worried you or your kid might be lacking at studies????? No worries!!!! I am here to help.
Maths has always been my favourite subject so I am ready to help in Maths and all the Sciences..
Fully DBS (updated version of CRB) checked as I am also a community first responder volunteer ambulance services.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a private tutor for many years now and have a record of 93% of my tutees so far having obtained grade A or above in the respective subjects with none of my tutees so far ever obtaining lower than B.
It all started when I was a prefect at my school and college where I used to help students of different levels (including my friends from my own year) in learning difficult topics (in maths and science) and in preparing for exams. I have also helped few teachers several times during an actual school lesson as teacher's assistant. But most importantly, in these many years as a private tutor, I have helped a lot of pupils only do well in their GCSEs and A-level. So far they have all achieved much higher standard than they were predicted by their teachers and this success of all these past tutees of mine makes me work even harder with all the new ones every year.

Just to assure you that I am not shy of putting in harwork I would like to bring to your attention that I did all my GCSEs in a single year instead of 2 and also ended up doing 2 of the subjects early. Even though maths was one of the early subjects, I still got A* and went on to do AS maths in the same year in which I also got A. So, may be I can help with not only Maths and sciences but also with management of time and work loads along with building their confidence and bringing out their desire to learn.

Tutoring Approach:

Will depend on the needs of the tutee as everyone is different but one thing that remains same for all is the commitment and the level of sincerity from me.

Personal Description:
I am a professional educator with a wealth of experience in a wide variety of teaching environments. I've taught in schools (Primary and Secondary) around Hampshire covering almost all the curriculum, been a private tutor for a wealthy family in the Middle East, and helped local students improve their GCSE and A-Level grades.

I trained in Physics and have a Masters degree in Physics with Space Science and Technology from the university of Leicester. I now teach Physics and Mathematics at a variety of levels in Gosport and offer local tuition.

Presently, my circumstances make it difficult to offer tuition, and can only accommodate students coming to my home in Gosport.

Teaching Experience:

I qualified as a teacher in 2009 and took up a post in a 11-18 state comprehensive. Here I taught Science at Key Stage 3 and specialised in Physics at Key Stages 4 and 5. After I moved to the south coast I spent 6 months supplying at various schools in Hampshire. This opened my eyes to the full range of skills a good educator should have. I honestly feel my teaching skills were vastly enriched by teaching in a variety of environments in many different subjects.
From March 2011 I was hired by a prestigious tutoring agency based in Oxford to work for a wealthy client and their two sons in the Middle East. This consisted of after-school tutoring 5 evenings a week in a variety of subjects.
Now back in the UK I teach in an Engineering Academy run to train Network Rail Apprentices. I tutor in the evenings from 11+ entrance exam students to those sitting their A2 exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I truly believe that every child is born a genius, with the ability to grasp everything that is put in front of them. From that point on, society, parents, and peers all put barriers in our minds. It is my goal to see that these barriers are destroyed. Learning is done by the student rather than teaching done by the teacher. A teacher can teach a dog to whistle, it doesn't meant the dog will learn.

A tutor is merely a resource. Just like a book, or an expensive laptop. Achieving the optimal results requires a holistic approach to education. I tend to work heavily with educational psychology theory and pinpoint the exact pieces of the puzzle far beneath the surface that allow the bigger picture to be seen. I teach my tutees to look at examinations in a way they may have never seen them before, allowing them to reduce the anxiety and be truly confident in themselves.

The content of subject matter often comes second to learning technique. How people learn differs between individuals. There can never be one set way to solve a problem so I offer various routes and pin point techniques that can be beneficial.

Personal Description:
Hi,
I enjoy teaching and researching. Currently, I am working as a researcher at the university.
My area of expertise includes, Biology, Maths, Chemistry and Pharmacology.
In my quest of higher education currently I am working as a research Scientist in molecular pharmacology, and cell biology. My project is associated with Lister Hospital, Stevenage, UK.

Teaching Experience:

Visiting Lecturer at the university level From last 3 years. Teaching students at the university level theoretically as well as wet lab experiments. I had 6 Nuffield bursary students to teach in the university in last 2 years. All of them are very competent and few of them went to imperial collage, cambridge, oxford and kings for the graduation.

Tutoring Approach:

If a student is not have an interest and intellectual in to the subject, I take it as a challenge. I prefer to correlate the tedious concept of science with the normal day to day life and give a flavor of importance or demand of a particular subject.
Give me an opportunity to introduce myself and I am confident that I will not disappoint you. So far, none of my student left my tuition and stayed with me for longer.

Personal Description:
I am a lively and enthusiastic graduate, with a first class honours in Engineering from Kingston University. I have always had a passion for teaching, as the younger generation is our future and I believe that it is very important that they are well educated. I know that private tutoring is very useful, as I myself have had it, it helps build confidence in students that don't feel that they are up to speed in school.

I am highly passionate about everything I do, this includes activities such as playing guitar and studying motors. I know that I am an able tutor when it comes to students of any ability.

Teaching Experience:

I started my career tutoring only young children on a casual basis, I now have tutored children professionally. My eldest student was 18, and my youngest was 6. I enjoy teaching children of all ages. I tutor in Maths, English and Spanish, and I am able to tutor in Film Studies too. I have studied all of these subjects myself and have gained respectable grades in them. I believe that having worked in a customer based environment for many years means that I am an easy to talk to person and I found that this is helpful in tutoring.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a graduate, and I the way in which I teach is by using practice questions and repetitively going over the necessary work, as I believe that this helps the student grasp the work. I also aim to make sure that the student can understand the work as well as answer questions, as understanding is the most important part.

The lessons would always be well structured. I would begin by going over the facts and showing examples of how things can be solved. I would then go on to give practice questions, with which I would help, and finally I would leave the student with a practice question as homework.

Personal Description:
My Name is Billy and i am currently studying for a BA in Politics and East European Studies at University College London. I am fresh out of school and still have all the vital knowledge and exam technique that is still relevent to todays GCSE and A-levels. I am friendly and willing to work with all abilities, i am very much looking forward to helping others maximize their potential and improving their final grade. I gained 6 A stars and 6 A grades at GCSE, while gaining 2 A and 2 B grades at A level.

Teaching Experience:

I have so far helped family and friends, to a great deal of success. Before this summers exams, i helped a friend turn around his predicted D in economics to a very high B (78%). I was active in my school, tutoring struggling GCSE french and maths students who were at a loss or alienated from teachers. Often, getting help from someone who has recently gone through the same exam is the most valuable tool to any student. I found older students to be far more useful than teachers, older student experience is what i aim to provide.

Tutoring Approach:

With public exams, its not what you know but how you know it. I will aim to provide hands on exam technique with the use of real past questions and examples, starting from the basic right through to the most difficult and nuanced problems. In this way i aim to add one grade higher grade at the very least to a tutees prediction.

PhD Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering

BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering (First class honours)

Teaching Experience:

I have a formal teaching experience and worked as a Lecturer Mechanical Engineering. I have been giving the tutorial lectures at Loughborough University to engineering undergraduates during my PhD. I have also tutored (and currently tutoring) physics and mathematics to a number of GCSE and A-levels students.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach is to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which students feel more confident to raise questions. I like to listen to my students being at their level to address and identify the basic difficulties that they face in understanding the subjects. I try to involve the students in problem solving and present the subjects in an interesting manner with the help of useful hints that are often required and proved to be helpful to provoke the original thought in order to improve their analytical skills. I find myself committed and patient and I believe that such teaching skills make me ideal for tutoring. I frequently highlight the practical implications of the subjects where possible so that the students could relate the subjects to their future careers. I am be willing to concentrate on the specific areas that the student requests. The focus of my approach is to prepare the students for the exams by developing the analytical thinking in order to solve the problems. The deeper understanding of the mathematical sciences could only be achieved through the intensive practice.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly, approachable tutor with plenty of experience tutoring in and out of school. I have a good sense of humour which I believe engages pupils and motivates them to do well.

Teaching Experience:

I have 17 years experience as a secondary school mathematics teacher and nearly 2 years experience tutoring Maths and English in centres and privately. I currently own my own tutor centre in Ainsdale, Southport, where I do all my tutoring. I believe in keeping the cost as low as possible for parents and found that this is an excellent way of doing this. I have taught and tutored all abilities and ages from primary to adult and am familiar with all school based examinations, QTS Numeracy and Key Skills tests.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach any student with patience and understanding. I am highly motivated and enthusiastic about my job and hope that comes across to the students I tutor and gives them the motivation to succeed and make great progress.
I am able to offer cheaper prices per hour depending on location and number of sessions booked. Please enquire for details.

Personal Description:
I have always been passionate about English and have studied it up to degree level also doing further learning and completing a TEFL course so that I am able to deliver another dynamic to my tutoring. I would like to pass on my love of the subject to the pupils that I tutor and help them in any way I can to achieve a high standard.

With working in the primary school setting it has connected me with Maths in such a big way. The techniques that have been developed are engaging and I find it a great subject to tutor. I definitely think that Maths is a key subject for keeping the mind active and focused. I have always been a dedicated and hard-working individual who is able to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds and in a variety of situations.

A quality that I possess is being a people person and this is an attribute that I think is also important when you are in this profession. Showing that you can fully engage with the person that you are tutoring as well as the subject. Looking forward to meeting you and helping you progress towards your targets!

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a tutor for the past two years and thoroughly enjoy the work that I do. Becoming a tutor grew from working as a teaching assistant in various primary schools and I wanted to do the work I did in the classroom on a more in depth scale so I am also comfortable working with students of all abilities. In my current position I work at a school with a student on the autism spectrum one to one preparing and delivering all of his core subjects. I have also worked extensively with students on academic work in an editing capacity.

I have previously worked at a Saturday school tutoring groups of students from reception up to GCSE level and at all abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I am flexible and able to cater to individual needs as I know that not everyone learns in the same way. I will make sure that the sessions that I conduct are appropriate to the individual learner.

I like to involve parents as much as possible throughout the entire process and include elements such a copy of the lesson plan every week so that parents can follow what we work on.

Personal Description:
I am an Aeronautical Engineering undergraduate at Imperial College London and so my academic strengths lie in Mathematics and Physics. I am an enthusiastic tutor who is punctual, approachable, friendly and will make the learning process engaging and enjoyable.

In my free time, I enjoy playing football, running and swimming. I am also employed as a Lifeguard at a local Leisure Centre.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored GCSE and A-level Maths, Further Maths and Physics to friends in High School and Sixth-Form and my most recent tutee required assistance in University level Maths.

Tutoring Approach:

Through studying Engineering, I can bring an approach to tutoring that not only will improve academic performance but can also provide an insight into the significance of what you're studying. This is very motivating and stimulates creativity.

I am very committed to the high standard of my tutoring. I will assess your strengths and weaknesses and adapt the lessons based on your needs. I will provide handouts and suggest reading material as necessary. I will challenge you to leave your comfort zone - at no point will I "spoon-feed" you the answers as this doesn't help you understand what is really going on. I can also help prepare you for academic interviews at university and assist in UCAS applications. Of course, I will make this a fun and enriching experience that will give you a thorough preparation for exams and beyond.

I took exams in all of the pure core modules across both Maths and Further Maths A-levels as well as exams in Mechanics, Statistics and Decision Maths.

I am more than capable of tutoring Foundation (grades C and below) and Higher Maths (A*-C) at GCSE level.

I am also happy to assist in GCSE and A-level Physics.

Personal Description:
I'm Adam, I'm studying for a PhD in Chemistry at Imperial College, London. Prior to this I did my undergraduate MChem at Oxford University. I'm passionate about science but my interests are wide ranging, I studied Music to A level and I still play in a band regularly.

Teaching Experience:

I have a lot of tutoring experience. I had two tutees in my final year at Oxford, one in A-level Chemistry (OCR) and the other in GCSE science and maths. In the first year of my PhD I tutored AS Chemistry (AQA) and I have just finished tutoring two more students in A level Chemistry (Edexcel)

Tutoring Approach:

Exams results are the most important thing. I think great results come from an enjoyment of the subject and lots of exam practice. First I lay down a solid foundation of knowledge from textbooks alongside homework and then work on past papers and exam technique.

Personal Description:
Hi,

I have many years teaching experience at every level from Key Stage 3 to post graduate.

During these years I have become acutely aware of how valuable it is for young learners to progress to secondary education with a good grasp of key skills, particularly in Maths. Since retiring from full time teaching I am focusing on working with primary age students to help them develop these skills.

Teaching Experience:

Maths teaching in a number of secondary schools at GCSE level + Key/Core Skill Numeracy at college level.

Tutoring Approach:

I see Maths as a language. In simple terms the language of numbers (let's not get too bogged down in the tricky stuff like algebra at this stage). As with all languages, if it's one you're familiar with it's pretty straightforward. If it's a 'foreign' language it can be a complete mystery.

Unfortunately all too many young people progress to secondary school feeling uneasy about their understanding of Maths and therefore develop a mistrust or even fear of the subject. The longer such reservations are held the more deeply ingrained they become. A fear of Maths developed while in primary school can hold learners back at all subsequent levels.

My aim is to help young learners develop a positive and confident relationship with the subject at the earliest possible age.

Personal Description:
I am a 28-year-old experienced tutor and medical student. Prior to coming to university, I worked in children's social care. I have vast experience in working with children and young adults - particularly reluctant learners!

I am also a mother and work part-time for a publishing company.

My main subjects are English Literature and Biology.
As a medical student, I have a broad knowledge of multiple areas of the curriculum. If you are interested in other subjects, please contact me and I will review the syllabus to see if I am able to support you.

Additionally, I am able to support students with the writing of essays and coursework. I can also assist with writing UCAS applications, CVs and job applications.

Teaching Experience:

I have been offering private tuition for over a decade.

Tutoring Approach:

All students are welcome to a free initial consultation. During this session I will spend time getting to know the student and understand their goals.

As a parent myself, I deeply value children's learning. I will not take on students if I do not feel able to considerably raise their attainment level. I meticulously prepare lesson plans and thoroughly enjoy supporting young learners to excel in their studies.

I provide reports at the end of every eight lessons, which clearly detail what has been achieved in tuition and what requires further focus.
