Personal Description:
I am currently undertaking in my spare time a part time four years masters as I want to continue studying. I moved to London once I finished my degree and am enjoying the atmosphere.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently in my fourth year of teaching primary children after completing a four year teacher training course at The University of Warwick. I have been teaching in year 5 for the past two years. Although i have only taught in year 5 since I have qualified, during my training I taught in every year group from Year 1 to Year 6. I have been tutoring an A level student in Sociology for the past two years also.

Tutoring Approach:

I would firstly find out what level each of my students were at so that then I could decide on where to pitch the lessons. I would approach each student differently in the way that I taught them in order to get the best out of my students as all people learn differently and at different rates.

Personal Description:
I am a young (27) and enthusiastic fully qualified Teacher of Physics, located in West London. I have a flare and passion for science and am fully CRB (security) cleared for my current full-time teaching post.

Coming from Ireland originally, I spent the last 8 years studying and working in the North East of England, before moving to London to take up a Head of Physics position.

Teaching Experience:

Having achieved a First Class Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Northumbria University, I undertook a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) course at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Since September 2006 I have been teaching combined Science to Key Stage 3 and Physics to GCSE and A-Level at a high performing specialist secondary school in Darlington, recently designated "Outstanding" in a recent (March '08) OFSTED inspection. My 2009 Physics results have been excellent, with a 100% pass rate at A-Level and 96% of students achieving A* - C at GCSE Physics. Since then I have moved to Ruislip, West London, to take up a Head of Physics position.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel an open approach to teaching and tutoring alike is most likely to make the subject accessible to students. My personal technique involves covering the scientific basics before moving on to further develop knowledge and understanding. In this way, students are eased gently into a routine of learning which will hopefully guide them to success in their upcoming assessments.

Personal Description:
Enthusiastic, hard-working and responsible, I have a keen passion for tutoring and teaching. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy teaching myself the guitar, playing football, and watching and making documentaries.

Teaching Experience:

I have amassed over two hundred hours of private tutoring experience over the past 3 years, helping students aged six to sixty, and have also spent several months teaching English as a foreign language in various destinations across the globe.

I have access to past papers and learning schemes for all the major exam boards.

Tutoring Approach:

From my past experiences, tutoring is an invaluable resource for school children and adults alike. Having worked with a tutor myself when I was at school, I can fully appreciate the benefits that one-on-one tuition brings.
I work with the tutee to find what techniques they respond to best in order to be able to fully realise their potential - each child is different, so each needs an individually-tailored teaching and learning plan. I also believe that the fact that I am recently out of education (I am 25 years old) gives me the great advantage of being able to relate to school pupils on a more personal level.

Personal Description:
I have been teaching for about ten years, and have wide experience of teaching KS3, 4 and 5: state and private education establishments.

Personal interests include reading, music (both listening and preforming) and travel.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for about 7 years and teaching for near 10 years, I have experience of both the private and state education system.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach tutoring as a method of working firstly on basic skills of the subject, and then developing great subject knowledge. I will always have a plan of topics to cover in a session but will mainly be lead by the needs of the student on the day. This is often governed by topics covered at school or college.

Listening to the student is the first rule of progress.

Personal Description:
On graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University I gained a First Class Honors Degree.
I am a self motivated, organised and approachable professional and I thoroughly enjoy my job.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience spans through all primary year groups. I currently teach a year 6 class where we are working hard to achieve good levels in the SAT's. I also run group SAT booster classes for the school and one to one tutoring sessions for the Local Education Authority.

Tutoring Approach:

Usually I start by testing new pupils using a past SAT paper then I would go through the paper with the child so I can find out exactly where misconceptions lie. Then I make a basic plan of action which will be subject to change depending on the child's needs during the sessions. I always try to make sessions fun and practical where possible.

It would be useful to have some kind of report from the child's regular teacher and in the case of English tuition a piece of the child's writing.

I can also provide resources for your child to do by themselves and websites where they can learn through game-like activities. Homework can be provided if you wish.

Personal Description:
I am a very cheerful and enthusiastic scientist, who is currently completing a PGCE in secondary science at the UEA, specialising in Biology. A Psychology graduate, I studied all 3 Sciences with Mathematics at A-Level.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach Key Stage 2 to 5 science at a local High School, where I lead a wide range of different ability classes from year 7 up to 13.

I have a broad range of tutoring experience, having tutored in Key Stage 4 Biology and Chemistry, Key Stage 2 English and Science, as well as English as a foreign language locally.

Tutoring Approach:

In my experience, many children tend to 'switch off' at the first hint of a topic seeming difficult or boring; I like to make lessons interesting and interactive, and am quick to try different approaches if a student is struggling to understand a topic or concept.

With all subjects, but particularly science and maths, understanding the basics is integral to progression, so ensuring a sound knowledge of fundamental principles is always the first step I take, before approaching more difficult or abstract concepts. I also feel that a lot of positive encouragement is important in helping students to overcome barriers in subjects they do not feel confident in.

Personal Description:
I am a student at the University of York, reading English and Politics.
I am hardworking, as can be seen in my 4 As at A-Level, and gentle but firm in my approach to teaching and learning.
My hobbies include books and cinema, and spending time with my friends.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching several young children English and Maths for the past three years, including teaching a young German girl to speak English.

References from previous clients are available if required.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the most important part of tutoring is not only understanding the level that the child is at, and encouraging them to surpass this, but also providing an opportunity to explore the subject in interesting and different ways.
Each lesson would be prepared beforehand, once I had discussed with the child and parent areas that needed to be worked on.
Feedback would be provided to the parent and/or child at the end of each session.

I am a 25 year old fully registered male teacher. I currently work between two South Lanarkshire. I am a young, enthusiastic and motivated teacher willing to take on the role of tutoring primary school aged children. I enjoy participating in and viewing a wide range of sports and like reading, listening to music and keeping fit in my spare time.

Teaching Experience:

I have recently qualified as a fully registered and Disclosure checked teacher, completing my probation year in a school in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. I was responsible for the planning and organisation of a coherent, progressive and active curriculum programme for a Primary 6 class. I also have general teaching experience across all stages of primary education due to covering classes throughout the year. Prior to qualifying from University, I worked as a support assistant between two schools in the area. This allowed me to gain valuable knowledge of working with children who required additional support on a one to one basis and group setting. I have experience of addressing individual pupil needs and throughout my short teaching career, have been able to implement strategies to assist each pupil in my care.

Tutoring Approach:

I am willing to provide children extra support in areas of the primary curriculum. I am able to provide appropriate resources and learning strategies to meet the needs of a child's learning. I am prepared to travel to provide this support in a fun, enthusiastic and motivating manner.

Personal Description:
I am a British citizen born in Gibraltar, am 23 years old and married. I have always been very hard-working in school, particularly as from my A-Levels in which I did very well and went on to obtain a First Class Master's degree in Physics with Astronomy from the University of Nottingham. I then went on to Imperial College London to study for another Master's degree in Physics, which I finished in September 2009, achieving a Pass with Distinction. As of October 2009, I am working in Imperial College London as a PhD student of the Plasma Physics Research Group for controlled thermonuclear fusion.

Another side of me is computing, in which I have many years of experience and expertise. Throughout summers of my first degree I was working as a computer technician and software developer in a company in Gibraltar. Throughout my work and personal experience, I have acquired a lot of experience in a broad range of areas in computing, including systems build-up (building PCs from scratch), software and hardware problem diagnosis and repair, computer programming, database design and various other design areas such as animations and movies (professionally-produced).

On a more personal side, I am also a student of the martial arts, specifically Tae Kwon Do. I find it teaches values that cannot be obtained from many other things. Swimming and weight training are also sports I practice for personal fitness. As I am from Gibraltar, I am also fluent in both English and Spanish although I much prefer teaching in English due to having spent my entire life in a UK-based education system.

If you desire tutoring in an area of computing for your own interest (whether following a short course or simply for your own knowledge - i.e. not a UK-based school qualification), please contact me letting me know what it is you are interested in learning. I can provide personal training in many areas, including systems build-up, database design (and programming as part of design), beginning computer programming, etc.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for several years and have had many instances where I have tutored friends informally. During my A-Levels I tutored friends in Mathematics, Physics and Computing (the subjects I took), helping them with questions and understanding the problem clearly in their minds. During my first degree, I tutored a few course mates before exams, helping them work through past papers and understanding the physical concepts involved. Additionally, I have taught computer programming and database design to many friends of mine (including my Computing teacher in A-Levels!) and my older brother for his work projects.

In my past experience, I have realised I am able to grasp concepts quickly, whether new or old revisited, and am a very able communicator (during my first degree I even took courses to aid my teaching style, even for lectures). One of my best traits is also my great deal of patience - something my friends have always accredited me for. As a result of this, and being very personable, I have absolutely no problem with having to explain things many times in different ways - it is something I have a great, great deal of experience with and have never not been able to teach something to someone, no matter how complex!

I have been tutoring through UK Tutors in particular since August 2009, when I was nearing the completion of my second Master's degree. Since then I have tutored people between the ages of 12 and 18 for anything like entrance exams, GCSEs, A-Levels and anything in-between.

Tutoring Approach:

My first concern is the confidence of the tutee. The tutee must feel confident around me and able to communicate his/her ideas in order to learn for himself/herself. One factor that always hinders learning by a tutee is their lack of confidence in themselves or lack of confidence around their tutor, something that must be addressed from the beginning to develop throughout tutoring.

At the start of any tutoring job, my first objective is to get to know the tutee's strengths, weaknesses and working approach. I usually do this by working through some topics and also by speaking to the tutee about how he/she feels about different things, his/her objectives, etc. After the very first hour, tutoring takes off on to the deep end.

Throughout tutoring, I explain things in a very clear and concise manner, highlighting all the physical concepts and similarities to common daily life applications. This really helped me develop my tutoring skills, particularly during my first degree when tutoring course mates complex physics. Until the problem isn't understood physically in the tutee's mind's eye, the problem isn't clear and the concept cannot be grasped fully. As a result of this, I ensure there is no way the tutee has any doubts as to how to understand the problem and approach it logically.

Both my extensive experience in computing and my experience in physics have developed my logical, analytical and reasoning skills greatly. This combined with my personable nature allows me to teach anything I am proficient at in a very efficient manner.
