Personal Description:
I am a graduate in Physics with Astrophysics, which was a four year degree, which included me living and learning in Italy. My degree was challenging yet enjoyable, and contained a lot of Maths, which to me was great! As a born communicator writing and teaching have always appealed, and I am keen to get into those areas. I also have a qualification in teaching English as a foreign language.

Teaching Experience:

ithin the last five years I have taught a wide variety of learners from the age of 14 all the way up to 45! This includes Maths, Physics, and EFL. I also taught children EFL for 6 weeks over a summer. Whilst at university I tutored 1st and 2nd years in Physics, which included a lot of Maths. I taught English as a foreign language whilst I was in Italy. I am very comfortable in a one on one environment. W

Tutoring Approach:

As a keen learner myself, I understand what it is to learn. As a recent graduate I have the advantage of my subjects being fresh in my head, and a unique attitude to how we learn, what works and what doesn't. Always patient I can push without pressurising and make you feel more confident in your ability. I am also keen to know what and how my pupil wants to learn, and can listen as well as I can communicate

Personal Description:
I am a TEFL teacher with a university degree (Music) and am from London. In my day job I work in a music company. I also teach English to foreign students in London, having worked for 2 years in British Council accredited language schools both in London and Portugal. I am a very friendly person and really enjoy teaching any age group.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught TEFL in language schools for two years, and have given private tuition in English and in Music for 9 years for all levels of learners. I have taught English at all levels from Beginner to Advanced, plus Business English and conversation classes. I have taught children as young as 6, all the way up to adults, and vary my teaching method according to the age group I am working with.

I have a Music degree and play and teach the Recorder, as well as giving lessons in music Theory. I used to work for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in the syllabus department, so have great insider knowledge about music exams. Additionally, I also used to mark Theory papers, so know what examiners are looking for.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to be as learner-centred as possible in my teaching. First I will conduct a needs analysis to assess a potential student's level and to identify the areas in which they would like to improve and their preferred learning methods. I encourage my students to actively participate in my lessons - it will not just be me talking. I aim to make lessons fun and engaging, as I believe that students learn more when they are interested in the material given.

Personal Description:
I recently obtained a masters degree in Mathematics from Queen Mary University and have been working as a Maths tutor since February 2011. As a result, apart from familiarising myself well with the UK system and curriculum, I have further developed my experience and teaching skills.

Finally, I consider humour an essential part of my sessions as it creates a better learning environment and a more enjoyable session.

Personal Description:
Chemical Engineer, teacher and examiner, double graduate in Chemical and Process Engineering, holding tremendous experience in teaching and private tutoring.
Punctual, reliable, hardworking and extremely professional.

Teaching Experience:

Worked as a chemical engineer for 6 years before starting working as a teacher. Worked with many London schools and colleges for the last 8 years. Helped many students to fulfill their potential and assisted them to get into top UK universities, including Oxford University, Cambridge University and Imperial College of London.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an exceptional teacher who is driven and enthusiastic about teaching. I believe each student has their own way of learning and that teaching should be tailed to match individual needs and leaning styles. Not only does this keep the student interested but I have also found that this creates a desire to learn more about the subject. I believe patience is another key factor to teaching, and which is a skill that I see myself to possess. Moreover, identifying the key aspects of the subject which challenge the student followed by structured tutorials and innovative teaching methods helps students attain the highest grade.
For all students I will set work to be done in between each lesson in order to reach the student's maximum potential. I also monitor students regularly and give progress reports to the parent/guardian in due times.

Personal Description:
I recently graduated from Oxford University (Christ Church) with a BA (Hons) in History of Art, and am now reading for an MA in History of Art at the Courtauld Institute. Aside from studying I am learning Italian, enjoy playing piano and keeping up to date with current exhibitions, plays and concerts. I travel as widely as possible and enjoy enriching my academic work with the unique experiences and case studies such travel may afford.

Teaching Experience:

Since August this year I have been tutoring a number of clients in London at KS3 and GCSE level, in English, Sciences and Mathematics.
Additionally, during my A Level year I tutored of GCSE students, gaining a 100% A -C pass rate.

Tutoring Approach:

Having attended some of the most academically intensive institutions in the country, I am well suited to provide academic support and guidance to those wishing to improve their achievement, from primary to degree level.
I believe that the role of a private tutor is to create a tailor made, interactive and stimulating environment in order to help students grow and explore within their subject. I believe instilling confidence is key to this approach - I am a patient, friendly and approachable tutor and work hard to encourage an atmosphere in which honest discussion and a lack of self consciousness when learning are paramount. I provide support for all aspects of learning, from discussing homework to improving core skills.

I am familiar with exam board requirements for each subject, and as a tutor work towards success in exams, but also towards a greater enrichment above and beyond curricula.

Personal Description:
I am a Mathematics graduate, having studied at the University of Warwick.

I am available to tutor in Mathematics and the Sciences at all levels (from Key Stage 1 up until A-Level) and I am available to tutor in English up until GCSE Level. I also provide tutoring for 11+ and entrance exams of all types.

Teaching Experience:

I have teaching experience which dates back to 2010, where I successfully tutored three children aged between 10 and 11 in their 11+ entrance exams. All 3 students passed exams for Tiffin School, Kingston Grammar School, Hampton Grammar School and the Slough Consortium Schools.

Since then, I have tutored children and students of all ages (5-18) for a variety of levels of study (Key Stage 2 to A-Level) for a range of subjects (Maths, Science, English, German).

I have experience of teaching anywhere from 1 to 4 students at any one given time, thus enabling the option for siblings or groups of family/friends to be taught at the same time. This often provides a more financially viable option for some parents/guardians.

In addition, I also provide help and guidance with UCAS applications, University personal statements and CVS and cover letters for job applications.

Tutoring Approach:

From my experience, I know that every student is different and each is suited to their own individual way of learning. Therefore, my approach is to make the student feel as comfortable as possible and being seen as a mentor as well as teacher.

This is why I try to make the tutoring as interactive as possible as I am aware that some traditional methods are not the most effective and it is difficult for the student to absorb the information presented.

In addition, it is important to keep the parent/guardian updated with the student's progress and recommend any lifestyle changes that can be made to help the student achieve that little bit extra and their full potential.

I believe in learning from mistakes. Therefore, my style of teaching would be doing more exercises and practises instead of being long-winded on notes and theories. In my opinion, that's the best way to learn.
However, I also understand that each individual has their unique learning style, and I hope
to get to know the student better and will accommodate some aspects when I am teaching.

Personal Description:
I am a 26 year old mature student, just started my third year at Cardiff University, where I study Theoretical Physics (I am based in Newport all year though).

Before going back into education I worked full time for 7 years, mostly in IT and web development.I am patient, hard working and have a real love and passion for physics and maths.

If I have done an hour or two tutoring with you (or not) and you are happy with me then you block book me at discounted rates, just ask for details. However this is not necessary, of course, you can still pay per session at my normal, low, advertised rates.

Teaching Experience:

Going into third year of Theoretical Physics degree in September. I am patient, hard working and have a real passion for physics and maths.

Tutoring Approach:

As a young adult, and a student myself, I understand the learning process people and especially young people go through. I take time to listen to the tutee's specific issues and where they are having problems, and try to address them with an understanding and supportive attitude.

Personal Description:
A tutor who offers GCSE and A-level tuition in mathematics (including further mathematics). I also offer tuition for students taking STEP papers.

I'm originally from Sheffield, where I did A-levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and History (all A grade) at Loxley College (which is sadly no more). I was an undergraduate at the University of Bath, where I obtained a masters in Mathematical Sciences (MMath: 2:1) a second masters in Mathematical Biology (MSc, merit) and a PhD in Mathematical Biology.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience at the University of Bath teaching mathematical modelling and mathematical biology to small groups. This means that I am experienced in teaching PhD level mathematics to a non-expert audience. I have also taught one-to-one.

When at university, I was heavily involved in the Latin and Ballroom Dancing club, and taught both small classes and one-to-one on a weekly basis.

Tutoring Approach:

During my A-Levels, I was completely self taught in both mathematics and further mathematics, as the college I attended didn't offer the qualification. Without a teacher, I had to develop a great deal of trust in myself as a learner, and I believe that building this sort of self-confidence is vital to success. Therefore, when a student becomes stuck, I always teach them to think their way out of the problem, rather than to use me as a crutch.

Once understanding is obtained, the next task for the student is to drill themselves in exercises. In particular, they must focus on doing as many past papers as they can. Although this can be daunting to begin with, becoming expert at answering past exam questions can be one of the most exciting and rewards aspects of the process. For those who want the best, there is no substitute for hard work.

I recommend that those who are seeking tutors find them as early in the academic year as they possibly can. It's vital to develop the good working habits early in the academic year, because cramming in the few weeks before the exams is worth much less than spreading the effort over the entire year.

Personal Description:
I like helping people improve their maths and Spanish skills.

I enjoy maths, it can be a fun subject to learn (yes really!). I find interesting and fun ways to explain how maths works and then get the pupil to work through questions and problems until they know each step very well.

I specialise in teaching maths at A level and first year university level. I also teach GCSE level.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching either one-to-one, or small groups of students for the last 5 years. While I lived in Spain I would teach English to children and adults, as well as teaching A level and University level maths to Spanish students through the medium of Spanish. In the last year I have also started teaching Spanish here in the UK, always trying to pass on my enthusiasm for languages to my students.

Tutoring Approach:

I make the lessons as interesting and as fun as possible, as well as making sure my pupils are good enough at each step before they move on.

Personal Description:
My name is Alexander and I am a Physics, Maths and Theory of Knowledge teacher, until recently working in London at The Godolphin and Latymer School, a prestigious independent school. I am currently pursuing a full-time PhD in Cosmology at Queen Mary, University of London.
My current research is into Dark Energy and Dark Matter and the effect these have on the formation of structure within the universe.

I am also a published author.

Teaching Experience:

I have over fourteen years of teaching experience, in GCSE, iGCSE, A-level, International Baccalaureate Standard and Higher level Physics and also International Baccalaureate Theory of Knowledge. Consequently I have a substantial array of teaching resources, practice questions and answers and experience of seeing the difficulties of students and helping them better access concepts and solve problems in these disciplines. Additionally, my research is highly mathematical in nature and I am currently tutoring in calculus and other related courses for the undergraduates at Queen Mary. As such I can also offer A-level and IB Maths tutoring if required.

Tutoring Approach:

I am based in Crystal Palace and will happily travel to students within a reasonable distance in central and greater London. Alternatively, it is possible to organise sessions in mutually convenient central London locations which I have access to, for example Queen Mary University library. I feel it is important to have full details of the syllabus a particular student is following prior to the first tutoring session so that the sessions can be tailored as specifcally as possible to the individual student and so time is not wasted in a given session.
