Personal Description:
I am 56 years old, am a qualified teacher with 15 years experience. I am an easy-going reliable person who likes to make my students feel at ease at all times.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching seconday school students since qualifying in 1998. I have had two full-time posts, worked as a supply teacher as well as having private students. I have worked in Inner London, Outer London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire schools. I have also worked in France at a small private school during the '80's, predominantly teaching adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach French using the native tongue as much as possible. I use my own resources although I use the Internet for ideas whenever it's suitable.
For Maths I follow the syllabus laid down by whichever examining board the student is using and resources come from a wide variety of places usually from where I have recently been teaching. I gather information from colleagues who sometimes have great ideas. I like to be able to go through past papers with students marking work as we go through a course.

I am a TEFL teacher with a university degree (Music) and am from London. In my day job I work in a music company. I also teach English to foreign students in London, having worked for 2 years in British Council accredited language schools both in London and Portugal. I have taught TEFL in language schools for two years, and have given private tuition in English and in Music for 9 years for all levels of learners. I provide tuition either at my home in central Cheltenham, or at the homes of students within a 30-mile radius of it (dependent on particular location).

Hello there, this is Clair here, I`m 24 and am currently undertaking a chemical research PHD in the field of materials chemistry at UCL. I graduated from my undergraduate Chemistry degree at UCL and prior to this I lived in Portsmouth having moved there from Malaysia when I was 13. This coming September I am in line to be secretary of the Chemical and Physical Society, UCL's oldest society.

In recent years I have been in junior schools working with children during their science practicals. I have also had regular work tutoring one to one and small groups of KS3-GCSE students and have also been called in to help particular A-level/BTEC science classes. Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is dependent on what the client aims are. The way I teach is based on what the client wants, how fast the client wants to achieve those aims and the level in the language. I dont use a standard course as every person is an individual and the teaching will be tailored to her/his way of learning. I will agree with the client to achievement milestones so that progress can be measured.
To clarify a few examples:
1.-If the client only wants to speak and understand I will tailor the teaching to that level.
2.-If the clients wants to become fully fluent in Spanish the approach is much more intense and determined
3.-GCSE (Higher or standard) level is taught to that level only, the same goes for A level and such

I do not tend to follow a set course as everyone is different and will have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to learning. I will tailor my teaching to the strengths so that you can learn as fast and effectively as possible

Personal Description:
Hi, my name is Imogen and I'm 21 years old. I am a third year undergraduate student at the University of Kent currently on my year abroad, studying French, with modules in International History and beginners German during my first year. I previously studied the International Baccalaureate instead of A Levels and whilst doing this tutored a 16 year old girl in GCSE French - she went from a C to an A with just simple tutoring of the basics. My final grades for my first year included French grammar grade being a 72 (1st) and all other modules receiving above 62, with a 70 in International History and International Relations.
Last year (April 2013), I spent two weeks in Paris for work experience with a French company, improving my French by being surrounded by solely French speakers! I returned to Paris for 2 months over the summer to work for another French company, living and working in the French language which has greatly improved my understanding of reading and listening to French and I've become much more accustomed to speaking in French primarily too.
I believe that I have a friendly approach to tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

As previously mentioned, I tutored a 16 year old girl in GCSE French. Over the 9 month period, we improved on her basic grammar skills and reading and listening skills also. As well as this, I have helped (not necessarily tutored, but essentially, tutored) several friends at different subjects that we both studied, particularly GCSE History and IB Biology Standard. I have a brother who sat his GCSEs in June 2013 and as most of our subjects were the same, I tutored him and tested him often in the subjects that I took at IB. From this site, which I joined in December 2012, I gained one student very quickly and during our 4 months tutoring sessions, she improved her basic understanding tremendously, progressing from a D to a B for her oral exam in April.

Tutoring Approach:

In terms of my approach to tutoring, I like to assess what the tutee finds difficult and try and work in a different way to how they are accustomed to to see if it helps at all. I draw a lot from my experiences as a student as I have found the ways in which I have been taught very easy to understand. I would like to say that my approach is a lot more suited to children because, like them, I am a student too and I understand what they are coping with and how their mind works. Listening is of key importance and I make sure that I listen to what my tutee is trying to say.

Studied in Iran, I've always been very good in mathematics and have had experience helping other math students. I'm 51, married and with two children, studying in high school and one in sixth-form.

Teaching Experience:

During my education at university, I was teaching maths at high school level, as well as taking over problem solving classes at University as a Co-teacher. In UK I have tutored A-level and GCSE student in maths, therefore I'm familiar with Edexcel maths for both GCSE and A-level.

Tutoring Approach:

All students are different in their own ways, Hence I usually evaluate students and based on that evaluation I will design a tutoring plan that suit that student and help them achieve their goals. Once I have taught a student a topic, I will provide many exercises to make sure that topic is mastered by the student. Because it is important for me that the tutee is happy with my work and satisfied, I do NOT charge for the first session. For the first session, I will teach a student as I would if it was paid, 1) to give the student a chance to evaluate the session 2) to give the parents an idea of how the session goes and its result before paying!

I am a 35 year old qualified maths teacher, living in Beeston. After university I worked for 11 years in IT, which included having to explain technical processes to non-technical people. This helped me learn how to explain concepts in different ways to help someone understand, and to have the patience to keep trying new methods to do so.

For example, when I was learning the countries in French, I created a world map and had the countries in French on a card and then would stick them on the map where I thought the French word matched the country and I also did the same for the human body.
