As a mature bilingual (Russian native) person with degrees in Business, Chemistry, IT, completed in different countries with reach experience in teaching at different levels from the nursery to adult.
I am looking to pursue a new challenge in a position where motivation comes from significant and visible improvements in your status and visible, clear performance targets.

Teaching Experience:

I have teaching experience in Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Biology, Russian. But I do prefer to teach Maths or Russian.
As a teacher I use diffident techniques or methods (depends from the age, level of schooling, etc) to raise confidence with the chosen subject and draw the best abilities from a student.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in a subject. My approach varies depending on the student's requirements and learning style. My teaching style is based on inspiring students to think for themselves, using real-world examples where possible. Personal Description:
I am 56 years old, am a qualified teacher with 15 years experience. I am an easy-going reliable person who likes to make my students feel at ease at all times.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching seconday school students since qualifying in 1998. I have had two full-time posts, worked as a supply teacher as well as having private students. I have worked in Inner London, Outer London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire schools. I have also worked in France at a small private school during the '80's, predominantly teaching adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach French using the native tongue as much as possible. I use my own resources although I use the Internet for ideas whenever it's suitable.
For Maths I follow the syllabus laid down by whichever examining board the student is using and resources come from a wide variety of places usually from where I have recently been teaching. I gather information from colleagues who sometimes have great ideas. I like to be able to go through past papers with students marking work as we go through a course.

Personal Description:
I enjoy trying new things and experiences. In the past I have represented various institutions in Football, Rugby, American Football and Baseball. I have presented and produced over 24 hours of radio shows on student radio. I have done many of the UK's longer walks and trails including the Dales Way and the Coast-to-Coast. I have hiked through the mountains of Texas and rafted down the Colorado River. I can even pronounce Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

I am constantly learning new things, even new methods of factorising. You can never view yourself as complete.

Teaching Experience:

I qualified as a teacher in 2009 and took up a post in a 11-18 state comprehensive. Here I taught Science at Key Stage 3 and specialised in Physics at Key Stages 4 and 5. After I moved to the south coast I spent 6 months supplying at various schools in Hampshire. This opened my eyes to the full range of skills a good educator should have. I honestly feel my teaching skills were vastly enriched by teaching in a variety of environments in many different subjects.
From March 2011 I was hired by a prestigious tutoring agency based in Oxford to work for a wealthy client and their two sons in the Middle East. This consisted of after-school tutoring 5 evenings a week in a variety of subjects.
Now back in the UK I teach in an Engineering Academy run to train Network Rail Apprentices. I tutor in the evenings from 11+ entrance exam students to those sitting their A2 exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I truly believe that every child is born a genius, with the ability to grasp everything that is put in front of them. From that point on, society, parents, and peers all put barriers in our minds. It is my goal to see that these barriers are destroyed. Learning is done by the student rather than teaching done by the teacher. A teacher can teach a dog to whistle, it doesn't meant the dog will learn.

A tutor is merely a resource. Just like a book, or an expensive laptop. Achieving the optimal results requires a holistic approach to education. I tend to work heavily with educational psychology theory and pinpoint the exact pieces of the puzzle far beneath the surface that allow the bigger picture to be seen. I teach my tutees to look at examinations in a way they may have never seen them before, allowing them to reduce the anxiety and be truly confident in themselves.

The content of subject matter often comes second to learning technique. How people learn differs between individuals. There can never be one set way to solve a problem so I offer various routes and pin point techniques that can be beneficial.

Personal Description:
Hello there, my name is Tony, an accounting tutor. Here's the secret...

Most students imagine accounting to be a subject riddled with daunting calculations and demanding a higher form of intelligence. This is not so. In my years of teaching students I have discovered that most students fail because they study the wrong thing. Look at it this way. To understand the working of a balance sheet [statement of financial position] most students memorise the order in which elements are applied. This is the cardinal sin.

To be a successful student you must understand why we need a balance sheet and what information users of this particular financial statement are looking for. When you look at it from a users perspective [understanding who those users are and what they want] your mind no longer tries to remember what was after what but your mind starts to actually determine what needs to be there to satisfy the users questions regarding a companies affairs.

This way you can forget the specific format but you can always recreate it because you actually understand what is going on and why it is going on. Give me a call, I'll help you see the better side of accounting.

Teaching Experience:

I have 3 years of tutoring students in the UK. I am passionate in what I do and I enjoy helping students.

For online students I promise you an experience you never thought was possible. You will be able to see my white board/note pad on your computer screen. Every stroke or letter I write will appear on your screen instantly. It will be like we are in the same room. Please give it a try and if you do not like it I will give you a full refund.

Tutoring Approach:

I focus mainly on two aspects; Understanding of the subject and Examination techniques. To achieve this I encourage one to one tutoring although in rare cases I accept groups.

Personal Description:
**Due to an upcoming new job, I will only be available over the summer holidays.**

I am a Mathematics graduate from the University of Warwick (graduated with First Class honours in 2015). It is my belief that Maths is one of the most important subject at school, but also something that could appear challenging to students. However, I believe with the right approach, everyone can understand Maths. I personally enjoy Maths a lot, but I also like seeing students learn and progress in Maths (and enjoy Maths as a bonus!)

I am originally from Taiwan, but I have been in the UK for 13+ years now. As a result, I am fluent in both English (with two A* English grades at GCSE) and Mandarin (my mother tongue).

I am an approachable, patient and adaptable person.

My rate is £20 per hour for tutees travelling to my location, or £25 per hour for travelling to the tutee's location.
Unfortunately, I don't offer online tutoring, because I don't think the standard of tutoring and experience is as good, and not as personalised.

Teaching Experience:

This will be my third year on UK Tutors; I have had 5 students in the previous 2 years. I have taught various students from secondary school up till A-level further mathematics throughout my time at school, most of which I managed to raise their grades to at least an A grade and helped them in securing places at their first choice universities. I have also volunteered in assisting to teach a year 3 class as part of a community service program at school, so I am very experienced in teaching Maths. I have prepared Maths lectures for my peers as well as revision guides for the students that I've taught previously. In addition, I have also assisted peers at the university on degree level maths, helping them with their understanding. But I also like to learn myself while teaching different students to further improve on my approach to tutoring.

I have written a full set revision notes for every module from the A-Level syllabus, which I modify slightly for every student to tailor it to their needs.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to tailor my teaching to the student's needs, because I believe that is the benefit of private tutoring, and provides real value for your money. I think it's essential to firstly understand where and why the student have particular problems or barriers in understanding, and engage it from a different perspective, perhaps visualising the problem or draw a comparison with real life situations to help the student understand. Communication with the student will play a vital part here, so ensuring the student is comfortable is something that I value a lot.

Maths is a subject where we build on our existing knowledge, so ensuring that the student has a solid understanding of the previous foundations of Maths is vital in learning new materials.

We then proceed to tackling exam style questions and papers, working together on harder problems and noting down errors whilst learning techniques. I also give all my students a copy of the relevant module revision notes which I have written in the past, but modified slightly to help each student in the areas they specifically need help on. My aims are to help tutees reach a level of achieving the top set of grades in the given exams, as I believe with careful guidance and good understanding, every student can be good and able at Maths.

Finally, in my opinion, one of the most important thing to do in Maths is to practice the techniques repeatedly, because learning the theory and applying it are different.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time.

Personal Description:
My name is Karina, and I have recently completed the first trainee year with the graduate scheme Teach First, having passed with Outstanding. My experience within the classroom has helped me adapt my teaching style to each individual. I understand that each student has their own needs and struggles, and may benefit especially from private one-to-one tutoring.

My own education has shown me excellent tutoring and teaching methods, and has compelled me to provide a similar, excellent tutoring experience. I was first educated at The Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton (a top 10 Independent School), which allowed me to experience a variety of different teaching methods from all disciplines. From this, I have been able to study at a top 10 university, specialising in the subject that most appealed to me at school.

Academic Qualifications:
Teach First PGCE with Distinction (Outstanding level)
BA (Hons) Economics and Business with East European Studies (Upper Second) from University College London
4 A Levels: Economics (A), Geography (A), Mathematics (A), Russian (A)
11 GCSEs: 5A*s, 3As, 3Bs

Teaching Experience:

Newly Qualified Teacher with Teach First (one full year teaching already completed)
-- Teaching Key Stage 3 and 4

Pre GCSE Mentor at an Inner London school.
-- Included tutoring in several subjects.

GCSE tutor at an Inner London school.
-- Specialised mainly in Mathematics.

Chess tutor at national chess tournaments
-- Having trained with International master
-- I am also able to tutor chess at request.

Tutoring Approach:

It's difficult to establish one certain approach to tutoring, as I believe every tutoring method must be unique to the pupil. Having said that, I strive to achieve a relaxed and informal way to teaching, making the pupil feel relaxed and calm about the lesson.

During the first contact, I will establish what the pupil does not understand in the subject and I will understand better how I can explain the problem. Drawing on my own education experience, I will work through the problem together with the pupil, and letting the pupil come to his own solution. I believe that only this way, will the pupil understand that he has truly achieved this, rather than the tutor explaining it from A to B,

Personal Description:
I am a 19 year old Romanian first year student of Aeronautical Engineering in Imperial College London and I am confident that I will get a 'First' at the end of the year.

Teaching Experience:

I would lie if I would say that I am experienced, given the fact that I only helped a 13 year old student in his 7th grade with Maths during the summer (even though with pleasing results).

Tutoring Approach:

Even though this would be my first tutoring work, I am confident that I will do a good job, with dedication and perseverance. First of all, my purpose is to find out what the tutee demands so that I adapt to his/her needs, in a friendly atmosphere. I am also open to opinions and suggestions regarding my teaching manner.

Personal Description:
I am a Chartered Civil Engineer and qualified Teacher. I am a natural communicator who can relate the academic subjects to real-life applications to make concepts and ideas easier to understand.
I am currently working as a civil engineer rather than a teacher.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught all sciences to GCSE and physics upto A-level. I am a physics specialist. I've also taught maths and link this to science and other applications wherever possible.

Tutoring Approach:

My philosophy is to make a subject relevant to the students and provide them with examples of the concepts being used in everyday life. My methods are to introduce a subject and assess existing knowledge through questioning and having the student demonstrate their knowledge and then building on this to deepen understanding. In this way I aim to increase the skills and knowledge of the students and improve their performance and enjoyment of the subject.

Personal Description:
I am a Master candidate in Finance and Investment in Bristol University. I come from China and graduated from one of top 10 universities in China with a Bsc in Physics. I am good at math, physics and finance. I obtained a national wide math competition reward and a reward for physics when I was in Senior high school in China. I also have good communication and patience, which I think will be helpful as well.

Teaching Experience:

No professional teaching experience. I had opportunity to help and share with freshmen in my university about my studying and learning ability every year.

Tutoring Approach:

Help student to learn with right order and help them to build their own learning strcuture. A intergrate system of knowledge in students mind can be extremley helpful, which can lead to efficient learning in their future study. Just like put things into correct drawer, I think it is what I am good at.

Personal Description:
I am a 2nd year Mathematics undergraduate at Imperial College London, firmly on target for a 1st class.

Below are my special interests whilst studying 'A' levels:
•Discovering alternative (to the textbook) viewpoints to explain physical phenomena.
•Completing proofs in mathematics textbooks (especially for the statistics modules).
•Sharing and contemplating these with peers and teachers!

I thoroughly enjoyed the process of deriving various formulae from first principles in order to remember them rather than purely memorising them as instructed by the textbook in many cases. Furthermore, I was even more excited when my peers(mostly juniors!) shared my stance when I shared my ideas. I am `dying` to share them with you!
(NB I am able to communicate in English and Mandarin. This might be helpful if you have linguistic issues.)

Hobbies: Reading (about mathematical/theoretical physics), badminton, running and swimming.

Teaching Experience:

•Demonstrating scientific experiments during school open days (2012-2013).
•Teaching my peers using derived mathematical proofs and alternative viewpoints in Physics as mentioned before.
•Summer Undergraduate Research Project on Networks and applications in Ecology at Department of Mathematics, Imperial College
(with presentations)

Tutoring Approach:

Wednesday afternoons and weekends.

Other times might be possible, please ask.

Personal Description:
I studied Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A levels and I am currently studying aerospace engineering at Queen Mary university. I have a keen interest in maths and physics. I enjoy teaching and keeping my students motivated to help them reach their full potential.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored many students privately from the ages of 12 up till the ages of 18. I have worked in a tuition centre in London have gained much experience such as teaching students at various levels and experienced teaching curriculum from different exam boards. I also covered A Level maths lessons while I was studying at sixth form.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very simplistic approach to teaching by not overwhelming my students with complicated explanations. I teach using one method however if a student was to find that difficult I would try to approach the problem with a different method. While teaching I am patient with my students as every student learns at their own pace. This approach to teaching helps the student become confident in their ability to solve maths and physics problems.
