Personal Description:
I am a 32 year old tutor based in south east London. For the past twelve years I have been teaching pupils of all ages and abilities in many different capacities and have an excellent success rate with my pupils.

I also work with children with behavioural difficulties/learning disabilities and with adults of all ages and nationalities.

Should you wish to use me, you would encounter a tutor easy to relate to and learn from in an enjoyable and easy environment. I believe a student who is abler ease with their tutor is far more likely to progress no matter where they are starting from!

I hope very much to hear from you soon.

Teaching Experience:

St Bees School 1998-present: Various unpaid voluntary work. Drama work-shop leader on summer-camp. Directing, play-writing, and work-shopping school Junior & Senior plays
2002: Clementine School, Hong Kong EFL Teaching Assistant. Assisting head English language teacher
2002: Hong Kong Institute for young offenders. Spanish Teacher. Teaching basic Spanish to young non English speaking offenders prior to their exchange to Chile
2005-2006: Private Tuition (Ashtead, Surrey) Private tutor. Various pupils for Spanish, English Literature, Drama & English language
2006-Present: Southwark Council. Supply Teaching with 'Classroom' agency. Work with children from mainstream, secondary & primary PRUs and learning difficulty schools.
Private Tuition (Paddington) Private tutor
Government-funded scheme to increase literacy levels amongst primary school pupils
2006-Present: Private Tuition in in all subjects and age ranges offered throughout London.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe one to one private tuition requires a tutor who can adapt to the needs of the pupil.

I would wish to meet the pupil initially to establish how they may best be assisted and what the pupil's key areas of concern are.

In short, each mind, young or old, needs different approaches and I believe my strongest ability is an adaptability to meet the varying needs and requirements of every student.

My approach, in most cases would be to follow a curriculum, finding out where their difficulties lie within this curriculum and how it would be best to resolve them.

I tend to use past papers when it comes to exam based tuition as this is ultimately what they will be faced with come exam time! However, when I have a pupil for longer there is more scope for more imaginative teaching or simply assistance with difficult homework.

With each of my previous pupils I have needed and been able to assist them in a way that is individually appealing to them and I have never had a pupil who has not achieved their desired results.

Personal Description:
A postgraduate student at Cass Business School, studying Actuarial Science. Just graduated from University of Manchester with Mathematics with Finance.
As a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese, I grew up in Hong Kong and had been studied in Malaysia for 2 years and Hong Kong for the rest. In addition, I have 2 younger sisters as a eldest brother and therefore I do well in tutoring. In my past Foundation year, I gained A* in Pure Mathematics, and A* in Business Mathematics and A in Computer. I am convinced that my academic achievement makes me a good fit in tutoring Mathematics for GCSE/A-Level students.

Teaching Experience:

In past, in Hong Kong and Malaysia, I tutored friends and anyone who were around me in Mathematics, which gave me loads of chance to enhance my teaching approaches.
I taught in Manchester last 2 years as well.

Tutoring Approach:

I would be more than happy to go trough past exam papers and exercises as for Maths with students.
Surely, to prepare notes and advice certain study skills for the students in Mathematics. I reckon that tutoring in a friendly manner would enhance learning process instead of forcing the student to do as said. You are more then welcome to have a briefing before the first tuition in order to make sure we have the same goal.

Personal Description:
I am a patient, sympathetic person who has a good sense of humour and enjoys meeting new people and getting to know them. I am passionate about making Mathematics enjoyable and understandable to young people. At present I am writing a novel for young teenagers which will challenge them to solve Mathematical problems and puzzles faced by the characters in the book. I'm hopeful that this will enthuse teenagers to see both the usefulness and beauty of Maths!
I am also passionate about ideas, beliefs and world views. I believe that it is important for people to think clearly about their world view and religion and/or philosophy of life. My aim is to help students gain factual knowledge, insight and empathy for people of different views from themselves but also to analyse both the basis and outcome.

Teaching Experience:

I became a qualified teacher with a B.Ed degree (Wales) in 1973 and taught full time in comprehensive schools in the UK and private schools in Lebanon, Cyprus and Egypt. Since returning to the UK I have taught part time, in schools, colleges of further education, and as a private tutor. I have taught Maths and R.S. to GCSE and Adult Numeracy Levels 1,2 and 3. I have also privately tutored A level Philosophy of Religion, Common Entrance and Quantative Reasoning (needed for entry to Medicine and Dentistry). The vast majority of my students have seen considerable progress and have gained the qualification required.

Tutoring Approach:

First of all, a student needs to gain confidence in him/herself. In Maths, this is gained through understanding and practice of the four rules of Maths. I have invented some board games to facilitate this, which have been thoroughly enjoyed, and have helped achieve the particular skills. I believe that Maths is about understanding and the application of logic, so I try to work from basic principles, rather than learning by rote.
As an R.S. tutor, I come from a position as a Christian, but aim to be objective and respectful to all faiths, or indeed to Atheism. I try to encourage students to critique the bases of particular ways of thinking, and to discuss and debate the points raised and the logical outcomes of particular beliefs.

I currently teach at Stratford College, at all levels including the Warwick University Foundation Programme. I have a passion for Maths and teaching maths. I am an experienced teacher having taught Maths to students of all abilities. I inspire students to achieve excellent results and excel in Mathematics.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching at FE is at all levels including the Warwick University Foundation Programme. I have been teaching maths for over 10 years with excellent results. I have taught at secondary schools and higher. I have extensive experience at getting students to achieve good grades at KS3, GCSE and A Level, IB and Warwick University Foundation Programme. I am able to teach all the core modules, statistics, mechanics, decision maths and further pure maths. Last year my A2 class obtained 100% A to C grades for A level Maths.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is to firstly diagnose any issues the learner is having - whether that be by doing a diagnostic test, or by studying his work and/or questioning. My next task is to build the necessary skills that are needed to achieve the required level. This is done in a way that builds confidence, skills and aptitude in the student. I instill enthusiasm in the student of Mathematics motivating students to excel and enjoy maths. I ensure this by:

1. Carrying out a diagnostic of the students level, ability and knowledge.
2. Using the diagnostic to identify and shore up weaknesses in skills
3. Building on the knowledge the student has in order to instill new subject knowledge related to the course of study.
4. Assessing the student at regular intervals to ensure progress and feedback.

Personal Description:
I am a mature and patient 17 year old. I am currently in my first year at Esher College studying 4 A-Levels and I live in SW London with my parents and 3 younger sisters. I intend to take a gap year after finishing my A-Levels and travel before going to university to study psychology or psychobiology. I am interested in becoming a criminal psychologist.

Teaching Experience:

I have no official teaching experience however I do unpaid tutoring with my sisters who are 10 years old. I also have many babysitting jobs so am experienced in looking after/working with younger children.

Tutoring Approach:

It is important to have a good relationship with people who teach you as I have learnt from experience so I believe this will come out in how I tutor. I will guide the child as much as s/he need to reach their potential but I generally think children can always do better than they think and just need someone to help them concentrate and give them a little push in the right direction as schools do not often focus on individuals and their personal needs one-to-one.

Personal Description:
I am currently working towards my first year of a maths degree at the University of Birmingham. I have always enjoyed maths and excelled at it so tutoring the subject seemed like the next logical step.

Teaching Experience:

I have helped people in my classes during school and also tutored some of the younger years at GCSE and A level maths.

Tutoring Approach:

This would depend on the level of work, I have multiple approaches to mathematical problems and I believe it is best to try and ascertain the method that works best for the particular student as quickly as possible. From there I would try to teach the methods which seem easier with numerous examples. Maths is a subject which is always has a right or wrong answer and practicing exam questions is the most useful tool of revision.

Personal Description:
As a University of Kent graduate with good grades on Mathematics, Biology and Psychology subjects, I have made my pursuit on making tutorial sessions with those students who need help with the subjects which I am really good at.

Teaching Experience:

As an experienced tutor I do believe that learning isn't hard if there is a good and talented mentor who could best encouraged every learner to acquire new things and become competitive at school.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutorial have been the answer for grade related problems of every students. Most of the time students encounter such problems because of inattentiveness due to confusions that is being created during their daily lessons at school. During my tutoring every detail is scrutinized up to the single one.

As a tutor I love showing my tutees the joy of learning through different activities which they will always find interesting. With my pursuit to help students I have different strategies being used depending upon the age and level of difficulty of the topic to be taught.

I strongly believe that a good tutor knows how to listen to his tutee. I always let my tutees to tell their concerns, and have a personal talk with them. Getting to know each other is the first thing that every tutor should do, this is the best way to help them feel more at ease.

I see to it that my tutees are learning from what I am talking and discussing. This made me a favorite of my previous tutees who are now a tutor to some of their younger friends in their place. I always find the best way to teach them for them to learn the topic in the easiest way possible.

The need to have a good tutor with a heart to its tutee is a must. In my entire experience in tutoring I have learned to established connection to my tutee. As a facilitator of learning it is important to work with students rather than lecturing them. The steps, methods and procedures should be done in a way that all of the details are being understood by the tutee.

A good tutor encourages students to remain active during the period of learning and mentoring. Every tutee would love to be with a tutor who treats him as friend. For me the best way to help the learners is to become their friend and not as somebody who treats them as a student.

Tutoring should be done in a way that is made fun and exciting; no tutee would like to be with a boring tutor. So when I was having my first year of experience in tutoring I always prepare the necessary things in order to make the entire learning process effective.

Aside from being ready for the tutoring sessions, the topics I used to teach them are in line with their discussions. Most of my tutees where having their advance lessons during the tutorial I am giving them, mostly if they are going to join a school competition.

For those who are interested to become my tutee I am always free and available all the time. I am also offering tutorial sessions directly to your home provided you are around North West London.

Personal Description:
I am a recent graduate from Imperial College having studied Civil Engineering for 4 years. In my free time I enjoy playing football and perform with several music groups. Another passion of mine is computer programming - I am currently teaching myself Python and JavaScript.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored many friends and relatives in Maths, I.T and French, and the job satisfaction and positive feedback I received are what inspired me to do it on a more serious level. During my degree, I worked as a tutor for first year computer science classes where I gained a lot of valuable experience, not least improving my communication with the students.

Tutoring Approach:

People respond differently to a particular method of teaching and it is hard to describe a general approach that works equally for everyone, which is obviously one of the main benefits of one-to-one teaching. I am very patient, and have had experience with different types of learners, adapting to the student's requirements. Although I don't like to focus on exams, most students can't avoid them and I will help prepare the student in the best possible way.

Personal Description:
I'm a 4th year undergraduate at University College London studying European Social and Political Studies, also from London. Outside of university I'm broadly interested in the subject of education, having volunteered for two consecutive summers on an education project in south-west Uganda. At A-level I achieved an A* grade in Maths, with an average of 99% across my 6 modules.

Teaching Experience:

Tutored Maths at Common Entrance level in my final year of school in 2011
Ran one-on-one conversation English conversation classes in Madrid in 2014
Mentored a group of ten first-year undergraduates in my second year of university in 2012
Mentored a GCSE-level student as part of an IntoUniversity scheme in Lambeth in my first year of university in 2011

Tutoring Approach:

I have a friendly and informal style, based on building up a good relationship with the pupil, as this is the real advantage of the one-on-one set-up. Classes are structured, but I adapt things based on the situation and diverge from the lesson plan if necessary. I also work extensively with past and mock papers because I think practice is the best way to learn. Finally when I take on a pupil I am committed - if the pupil has problems or needs help between lessons I'm happy to be contacted via email.

Personal Description:
I studied Pharmacology as an undergraduate for which i made a first class. I am presently for an MSc in biopharmaceuticals at King's College London.
I am a friendly and enthusiastic person. I love meeting new people. I am very keen on researching and providing people with information. I enjoy being organised so that I can balance my extracurricular activities with any planned 'book-work'.

Hobbies; I love painting and reading and writing short stories. I have a dream to one day write a novel ;-)

I love encouraging people and hope to see people that have come across me as a friend or as a tutee achieve success.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently a KS2 Maths and IB Biology tutor. I find it very fulfilling having to pass on knowledge and see result. I also tutor my 6 year old son at home in maths and reading.

I was a Study group leader at my undergraduate University- London Metropolitan University.
I planned study sessions with my group and engaged them in discussions relevant to the pharmacology modules.
I organised Skype sessions to improve flexibility and provide mores tudents with the opportunity to take part in discussions.
I led disussions to improve written coursework and assignments at the same time being careful not to provide outright answers nor allowing plaigiarism.
Members of my group achieved allround success in their final degree.

I have been a Sunday school helper at Church since 2008, where I help Children aged 3- 12 with their Sunday school activities.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that practice makes perfect. I like to understand what level my tutees are at first before I begin with them, then take things from there. We will work through a lot of problems together using text book questions and sample papers (for those preparing for exams). Above all, I'd like to see my tutees enjoy the subjects I help them with.

Personal Description:
I am a Mathematics with Computer Science student at University of Southampton. (second year)

I consider myself a hard-working person. I have always been a perfectionist and a very good student.

Teaching Experience:

Since I was 13 years old I have offered free private tutoring to my cousins and some of my neighbors. This helped me gain some experience with children.

When I came to UK, I became a KUMON (Maths and English tutoring center) assistant where people of all ages come.

I would like to broaden my skills and make tutoring my permanent job.

Tutoring Approach:

I strongly believe I was born to be a mathematics teacher. I think discipline is the most important aspect when working with children.
