Personal Description:
I am a caring and patient teacher . I develop good relationships with my pupils and care about their general well being. I adapt teaching aproaches to suit individual pupils to enable them to engage with the learning in a postive and supportive way. Children say they like my lessons and enjoy being tutored by me.
If you home school your child I can provide tutoring of a specific subject area fit around your timetable and the way your child prefers to learn.
I am also a parent of boys with SEN,(dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism and adhd) and have a good knowledge of special education needs and the impact of these on teaching, learning and home life.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for 5 years in the primary age range and really enjoy it. I have been privately tutoring for 6 years covering both all literacy areas and maths. I have up-to-date training in the new grammar, spelling and punctuation KS2 SAT's paper. In the area of spelling, I have current experience in the synthetic phonics approach. I have used this from the beginning stages in year 1, and also adapted teaching with the support of practical materials to pupils in KS2.
I can provide references from parents of current pupils.

I am able to support your child through the transition into secondary school, providing practical ideas to get ready and support during the first term to enable them to remain positive about their potential as a learner. I can also help advise on issues arising from difficulties in personal organisation from moving around the school to coping with having the right things in their bag on a daily basis.

I can tutor pupils through secondary education in English and English literature. I can support those who are experiencing dyslexic issues and need some support with homework.

Tutoring Approach:

I treat each child as an individual taking into account both parents and the pupils views and needs. I provide suport to catch up on missed areas of basic skills, which is delaying learning, as well as being able to support targets set by school for the pupils individual progress. Through an initial consultation I seek to find out what the needs are and, with parents and pupil, plan suitable help to reach their goals. I share objectives with parents and pupils and give regular feed back to both to reach those goals. I belive it is important for all to see progress is being made. With parents and pupils permission, I like to make contact with their teacher to work with class teacher in identifing areas of difficulty and planning appropriate support. I find that this approach give the maximum benefit for all concerned.
The greatest difference I make to my pupils is to increase their confidence which in turn enables them to be more willing to take part in whole class sessions at school. Teachers of at least 2 of my pupils have remarked on the difference in attitude of the pupils who I have tutored.

Personal Description:
Hi all, I'm Ben a 26 year old full time private tutor. I've been working as a private tutor now for 5 years and they have flown by! Tutoring is not just a job to me it's a passion. I'm a laid back guy who's friendly and easy to talk to, I pride myself in my interpersonal skills as well as my academic knowledge I believe both are equally important for tutors to have.

I graduated from Kings College Cambridge University in June '08 with a B.A hons in Natural Sciences, having attended the Brooksbank school and 6th form where I achieved 3 A's and 2 B's at A-level in Maths, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and General Studies. I have been employed by Calderdale Council since July '08 working with children and young people in various roles. I started tutoring as a hobby as it has always given me great satisfaction and enjoyment as well as keeping me in touch with subject that I intend to get back into one day. In June '10 I left my post with Calderdale Council and now work full time as a tutor doing a job I adore.

For my hobbies I enjoy swimming, playing football, DJing, gigging and playing in bands.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring professionally since January '09 and in the period until June'13 I have had the privilege of tutoring more than 100 students spread across all the subjects that I offer. I have taught all abilities ranging from oxford/cambridge applicants to students just wanting to pass the subject, no matter what you're level is I'll work as hard as I can to insure you get best results possible. I have worked full time as a tutor since September '10 meaning that I have been able to dedicate all my time, effort and focus into making sure that all my students excel.

Tutoring Approach:

Through my experience I have found that students learn much better when they are relaxed and comfortable. This has led me to adopt a laid back and informal approach to ensure that the learning environment maximises the tutees ability to learn. I understand that everyone has individual needs and learns differently and because of this I am very adaptable in the way I teach. I focus my lessons on two main areas: the first involves making sure the tutee has a firm understanding of the topic and all the principles that are involved within it removing any misconceptions that would hamper further progress. The second area works on the tutees technique working with them to ensure they can understand, digest and answer questions.

Due to my passion for teaching it gives me the drive to go the extra mile to make sure that all my students fulfill their aspirations. I have helped my previous students with University applications, coursework, interviews, CV's and job applications. Due to working full time as a tutor now I am able to offer constant support for all my tutees so I am able to help whenever they need it.

Personal Description:
I am an LSE Economics BSc (Hons) Graduate and am currently pursuing an MSc in Management at London Business School. Upon graduation I will be joining McKinsey & Company as a Business Analyst.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive tutoring experience; I have been tutoring for over 5 years. I have, in the past, tutored Sciences, Languages, Maths and Economics but currently only tutor Maths and Economics. All my students have been extremely happy with the results they have seen. References are available upon request.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that the understanding and grasping of concepts is the single most valuable thing a good tutor can provide to his or her students. This is my focus. I make sure students understand the concepts they are studying, and then turn the attention to helping them hone their technique in applying these concepts in different exam scenarios.

I guarantee the utmost quality and preparation for each lesson and, for any willing student, the best results given the time period and student's starting point. I am happy to offer a discount on student's first lessons to trial my tutoring approach.

Personal Description:
I am a patient, approachable tutor and will help you from wherever your starting position. I have helped many students achieve the grades they want and I know how it feels to be under pressure to do well in exams. I aim to give students confidence in themselves and in their subject and hopefully, enjoy the process!

Teaching Experience:

I am an experienced secondary school teacher, having taught in England and Northern Ireland. I have taught lots of versions of combined sciences (like OCR and AQA) as well as separate sciences at GCSE. I have taught AS and A2 level Biology for many years too. I have taught pupils of all abilities and pupils with specific learning needs. I have also tutored GCSE, A level and undergraduates on a one-to-one basis.

Before becoming a teacher, I was a scientist working in Oxford (where I did my PhD) and Nottingham Universities where I also taught undergraduates.

I am not available to tutor adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I will discuss your needs first of all and find out how I can help. We will assess where your strengths and weaknesses are and formulate a plan for your studies.

You will be tutored in our education centre where I have revision quizzes on computer, resources and notes to work through to build your own notes. I also like to use lots of past papers to help you improve your exam technique as well as work on your subject knowledge.

I will set homework and you need to set aside time during the week to back up the work we do in tutoring sessions. I can help you improve but the only person who can sit your exams is you so you need to be determined that you will do your best.

Personal Description:
I have finished my maths degree and have decided that tutoring is the path I'd like to be on. I love working with children/elder students to help them achieve the best that they can. I am very easy to get on with and am passionate about teaching.
I am a math tutor for primary, ks3, GCSE and A level maths.

Teaching Experience:

I have done work experience at a nursery school, I have done voluntary work at a youth club, I have had experience being a classroom assistant in a secondary school.
I have helped friends and family in passing their gcse and a level exams in maths.
I have tutored around 25 students ages ranging from 4 to 24 and have references if you would like their feedback.

Tutoring Approach:

I go through the maths topics one by one. I explain a topic thoroughly, then give the student example questions, talk them through it and this usually results in their confidence growing about the topic. I make sure the student undertands everything before moving on. Lots of example questions help, maths is a subject that needs to be practiced, not read.
I make my own lesson plans so that I can personalise them for every student.

Personal Description:
I am a second year at Queen Mary UoL, studying G110 Pure Mathematics Bsc. Put simply I feel everyone is a Mathematician by nature as we find beauty in patterns and problem solving.
However, many are disillusioned by the way it is taught in schools and need extra support to understand it, rather than learn and regurgitate it.

I am fully CRB checked as of January 2013

Teaching Experience:

Currently I tutor at two secondary schools, St Pauls Way Trust and Bridge Academy.
My roles vary from one-to-one tuition in A level Maths, AS Further Maths and GCSE, to classroom assistance for students who need extra support.
I also privately tutor a year 11 GCSE student so I like to think I have a fair amount of experience in what obstacles students encounter and how to overcome then.

Tutoring Approach:

As a younger tutor I feel I am much more approachable by students and can relate to their problems with the content, as I was in their position a few years ago.

I am patient, punctual, and always ensure tutees have access to the best resources not often available to everyone else.

I enjoy to discover different facets of nature and love to experiment, hypothesise for anything I am unsure about; for fun and for work. Hopefully I can pass this spirit to a few other people when teaching Maths and/ or Physics.
I am a member of the institute of Physics (IOP) and the institute of Mathematics (IMA) and member of the two Astronomical societies.
Other interests of mine are: drawing; usually portrait or cartoon sketching, Mountain bike riding and long distance road races. I'm sure there are others as I like anything that is a challenge whether physically or mentally.

Teaching Experience:

I have 6 years teaching experience, teaching in various Schools in England, teaching for 2 years at Cotham High School. I give after school classes in Mathematics at two local schools. I have tutored many students successfully for SATs, GCSE, A level and other examinations including Btec engineering. In 2013-2014 academic year I was appointed lead teacher for KS3 and GCSE Maths, where I was made responsible for a new better scheme of work at an independent school in Bristol. Since l relocating to Stoke-on-Trent I have continued one-one teaching privately. I I have references and a good track record.

Tutoring Approach:

A strong belief in the student is very important. I aim to provide the highest standard of teaching for all students, which I thoroughly believe is very much a student centred tuition session. To make progress the student has to feel that he has earned and worked for the resolution of a problem. As a teacher it is my role to pick the right questions (grading) for the student and to mainly elicit an answer from him/ her by suggesting and providing general and specialised questioning to help the student exploit the facts and analogies he/ she knows.
As Maths is a very active discipline many questions will be given but again with the aim to provide the student with a natural and intuitive understanding. This is often not addressed in maths education stifling a students creative capacity, narrowing their vision of how a problem is to be approached.

I provide homework and feedback for all students and will help via email communication during the week.

Students will learn how to use the right mode of questioning in tackling all problems on their specific syllabus. This will prove extremely valuable as he/she progresses to more advanced studies as he/she will have prepared with a more intuitive approach. Further to this is that such problem solving skills are required for the new GCSE syllabus from 2015.

Personal Description:
Hey! My name is Niki. Born in Bulgaria, raised in the UK. Fully settled here with my parents, a cat and a dog; Felix & Harry. Just finished my BCs degree in Physics at the University of Kent.

Interests include gaming, socializing, basketball, skating, bass guitar, road biking, going out and staying in.

I have a nice house for tutoring with a sunny conservatory and big garden, as well as some friendly pets who love visitors.

I have a DBS (CRB) check as my parents are fostering.

Teaching Experience:

I've being private tutoring since May and received positive feedback.
No direct teaching experience. A lot of group work during University and in a way teaching yourself, as well as helping your group members understand the problems and solutions better.

Tutoring Approach:

It's important to understand how you think about the problem before explaining the final step or showing an alternative solution. I recently graduated from University so I might have a fresh or modern way of approaching problems, which may differ from the teacher's. This could be very beneficial.

Always friendly, composed and relaxed.

My strengths are lab reports and projects. I achieved over 78% for my projects at University, which is graded as a First.
