Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic mathematician with an ability to communicate well. I have a first class degree in Maths and Chemistry. I would like to help students by either guiding and supporting them in their exam preparation or by developing their confidence and increasing their skillbase in maths.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working in a large comprehensive school in Leeds teaching 11-18yrs for the past seven years. I have experience of taking students through SATs, GCSEs, and A-Levels both in school and in private tuition with excellent results. In addition to this, I am an examiner for AQA and Edexcel exam boards, marking Alevel papers. As such, I am very well qualified to help students develop a more effective exam technique that maximises their marks.

Tutoring Approach:

I give one hour or two hour lessons which can either be in support of, and running along side, the student's school work or individually tailored lessons covering specific areas of weakness which students find particularly helpful in preparation for exams.

Teaching Experience:

Experienced tutor - I enjoy educating people of all ages and have been providing a private tuition service for some time to children at secondary school level and also to adults who wish to extend their knowledge in those areas. See below summary of teaching experience:

Tutoring Approach:

My ultimate goal for any student is to make real and noticeable progress in their subject. Different students learn differently and it's important for me to identify their own unique learning style, not only to maximise their learning but to inspire and motivate them to learn. I endeavour to make learning both informative and enjoyable. See below a summary of my general approach:

Focus on any identified areas of weakness and build on strengths.
Adopt teaching method to suit student's learning style.
Facilitate learning; encourage students to use own ideas to solve problems.
Teach by principle; use lots of analogies/metaphors to explain concepts.
Assess progress using exercise workbooks and other test assessments.
Prepare students for exams; going through past papers and exam techniques.
Homework is given and completion is expected by next lesson.

My broad career experience helps me to impart knowledge in a more enthusiastic, clearer, convincing, and mature way, with the ability to better relate scientific/mathematical concepts to everyday life and to the commercial world.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate of Christ Church, Oxford University with a Master's Degree in Mathematics and Philosophy. I am also a fully qualified teacher of Mathematics, currently working at Highgate School, one of London's top independent schools.

Teaching Experience:

I qualified as a teacher in London through the Graduate Teacher Programme, and I am currently working as a teacher of Mathematics at Highgate School in North London.

I have been tutoring mathematics since leaving university, and have worked for clients in locations such as London, the South of France and Moscow. I have tutored students for various qualifications including GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A-level. I have also prepared students for 11+ and 13+ private school entrance exams, and for Oxbridge interviews. I have also taught English as a foreign language in South Korea.

Tutoring Approach:

I take an approach to maths which focusses on understanding, rather than rote learning. This gives students a more flexible approach, and allows them to apply their mathematical skills well to problem solving tasks. I encourage them to use their initiative and to be confident in working independently. I also focus on practising techniques for exam preparation. I aim to make my lessons enjoyable and to focus on areas that students find difficult. While mathematics is my primary subject, I may also be able to give students help in other subjects by arrangement.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced teacher with qualified teachers status, who has taught in England and abroad. I have been helping children build up the gaps in their learning level since 1994. I am able to discover various learning styles to help children improve their learning. I am currently a supply teacher teaching in Hertfordshire and in Luton. Due to my vast Experience in teaching in various schools as a supply teacher I have an in depth knowledge of the national curriculum for maths and English for key stage 1 and 2 , from years reception to year 6 and have always received positive feedback from students parents. I am a mother of two teenage boys.

Teaching Experience:

I have a BA.Ed from abroad and soon after graduation I taught English and literature for two years in a secondary school(year 8 and 9). In 2005 after I gained my PGCE primary and have been teaching in primary schools since then. , covering years 1 to 6 in various schools in london . I now teach in stevenage and surrounding towns. I have been a supply teacher and Tutor for over 10 years .

Tutoring Approach:

when teaching children on a one to one basis, I usually start by giving them a general assessment on their reading and problem solving skills. After this I am able to plan for each child on an individual basis on how to help them improve their levels and fill gaps in their learning. Due to the large number of students that i help i am not able to travel to children during the week so children come to my home for tuition but during the week ends I can to teach children in their own homes. I normally teach the children for an hour and then give them homework for further skill practice. I also help children and parents draw up a reading and learning timetable which is very easy to follow, this has proven to be very effective in the past, in helping children become independent learners. My approach is to be friendly but professional and help children relax in order to enjoy learning.

Personal Description:
I am an Engineer from an Elite Indian University called Jadavpur University, currently working in a Telecom company at Coventry.
I have been an above average student scoring 98% in Maths and 97% in Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) in ICSE which is Indian Equivalent of GCSE.
I have scored 99% in Maths and 92% in Physics in ICSE which is the exam that Indian students take at 18 years of age.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught students from Year 6 till Year 12. I teach almost all science subjects till Year 10, and Physics till Year 12.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to teach student the basic principles first and then help them apply the principles to general stuff they see around. This helps the students to learn while they have fun and helps them to solve their text book problems with more confidence.
Once a chapter is finished, I take comprehension tests before moving to the next chapter.
I can offer lessons both online and I can also come over to the student's place. But I need the students to be disciplined, obedient and punctual.

I have worked at two different Tuition Centres where I offered individual and group tutoring sessions in Mathematics and Physics from Primary to A Level standard. I have covered the vast majority of the exam boards for GCSE and A Level.

I have always loved tutoring and working with students of all ages to achieve their potential.

I am very flexible in my tutoring approach - I tailer my lessons based on what suits YOU.

I am very happy to answer any questions you may have. Please get in touch.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a Physics and Mathematics tutor at a local tuition centre since January 2014. I have tutored in Physics from KS3 up to A Level and in Mathematics from KS1 up to GCSE Level.

As a prefect and student ambassador whilst at sixth form, I worked with year seven students on a weekly basis for one year in an attempt to improve their reading. Acting as a mentor to the students, it was apparent that the sessions improved their confidence and they grew as individuals as the year went on. Watching this transformation provided an unbelievable feeling of pride towards the students and an ultimate feeling of success.

This passion led to me organising and successfully running a weekly sports session for some of the younger students. This allowed them to socialise and meet new people and improved my leadership and man-management skills.

I continued to work within the education sector as I worked as a mentor during the Summer School. The role included assisting teachers in running game and skill sessions and working with more vulnerable students to improve their morale.

Along with my experiences of working with younger students and working within the education sector, I have a good academic background which will be vital when working as a tutor. I achieved grades ABB at A Level and 8 A*-A Grades at GCSE including Maths, Science and English.

I believe that my endeavours and experiences hitherto put me in a position where I am able to meet the rigorous demands of being a tutor. However more importantly, the above experiences have caused me to develop a genuine passion and determination to help young people.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important thing is to ensure the tutee is comfortable with the approach. I do not have one particular approach but adapt my tutoring sessions in a way to suit the student. Everyone has a different way of learning and so it is vital that the session is used to get the best of of the student.

Whereas I understand the importance of exams and will often stress this, I find it more useful to to engage with the tutee in a way which would result in them loving the subject. This will encourage and motivate them to work further.

Personal Description:
I'm a positive and approachable, qualified mathematics teacher at a top performing school.

Teaching Experience:

I am in my second year of teaching mathematics since qualifying and have tutored upto GCSE throughout my training which was in Birmingham. Prior to teaching I was a research assistant for educational projects for two years which involved working with primary and secondary school children. I have also plenty of voluntary experience throughout my college and university studies based in primary schools, special educational needs schools, TEFL abroad and mentoring young offenders. I will tutor any child, upto GCSE for Maths and upto Primary for English.

Tutoring Approach:

I love teaching, tutoring and of course mathematics. I often tell my learners that things will become easy when you know how. I deepen the understanding of my learners - often we are more likely to recall knowledge or techniques when we've thoroughly understood them and this is what I endeavour to achieve in my teaching. I help my tutees to come up with goals to achieve in our sessions in order to increase their motivation to succeed. Those who are preparing for GCSE exams imminently I would approach in a way that will maximise their success in their exams.
For any English tutoring I would start off by assessing which skills they need to work on and work on those primarily.

Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified, very experienced teacher who is committed to providing the kind of support I would expect my own children to receive from a private tutor.
Tutoring is my main occupation which gives me the time (and energy!) to commit fully to developing the potential of my students through well planned and resourced activities.

Teaching Experience:

Having been a classroom teacher for 16 years, I continue to enjoy helping students achieve their full potential. I have taught students with a wide range of educational requirements and adapted my teaching in order to provide the best guidance and support.
Also, I have been a specialist English leader in a primary setting and, latterly, a member of a Senior Management Team. Fulfilling these roles required an in-depth knowledge of the Curriculum and the skills to make it accessible and enjoyable for all.
My experience has also included teaching smaller groups requiring more focussed support in English and Maths and for test preparation.
In addition, I have taught English as a Foreign Language to children and adults, specialising in functional English.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that learning should be a very positive experience. Sometimes, for a range of reasons, learners may become disenchanted. I am aware that individuals do not all learn in the same way and it is my aim to give targeted support, the right level of challenge and, most importantly, personalised guidance delivered with patience and kindness.
My own enthusiasm for learning and my sense of humour have proved successful with students, in particular those requiring a confidence boost in order to make further or more rapid progress.
My hourly rates cover travel up to 15 miles. However, I am willing to travel further for a small, additional fee to cover mileage and time.
