| Personal Description: I graduated from Oxford University with a BA in Law. I have undertaken the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law. I studied for an LLM in International Law and Jurisprudence at University College London. I was admitted as a Visiting Student at Harvard. Presently, I was a Visiting Fellow at Cambridge. |
Teaching Experience: I have experience teaching law to undergraduates and teaching History and English to children aged 8 through to GCSE/GCE students. |
Tutoring Approach: I take a relaxed yet expectant approach to tutoring. I have learned that a happy student who enjoys his/her subject does better than one forced to study the subject either by way of meeting a particular deadline or getting the subject over and done with. At the same time I expect the student to be diligent and enthusiastic. I am extremely patient and very hard working. I am very good at motivating students. |

| Personal Description: I graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2008 with a 2.1 Honours Degree. I have just finished my Legal Practice Certificate at Nottingham Law School. |
Teaching Experience: I have been privately tutoring students for nearly 3 years. I have experience of teaching in most areas of law. |
Tutoring Approach: It is impossible to simply have one approach to tutoring. Different students, of different ages, personality's and ability respond better to some methods as opposed to others. Therefore, I find it important to tailor the tutoring to the needs of the particular student. |

| Personal Description: I am a 25-year old practising barrister at a civil/commercial Chambers in London. I attended Bristol University from 2003-2006 and gained a 2.1 in Law with first class marks for my dissertation. Following bar school (BPP Holborn) I gained an LLM from King's College London (Merit). Previously, I gained three As at A Level in English Literature, History and Politics. At GCSE I received As for English, Maths, Double Science, Music and History and A*s in Geography and English Literature. |
Teaching Experience: I have had various personal tutees over the past few years including primary school English and Law Degree students. I have also taught in schools during my time at University. |
Tutoring Approach: Having just come out of the education system myself I know exactly what exam boards and schools are looking for. I can help with homework, coursework, revision and exam preparation. I will assess the student's needs and then tailor the course to those requirements. I am happy for parents of young students to be present during the lesson. I endeavour to provide regular progress reports. My Entrance Exam classes focus on entrance to the bar and can cover BVC applications; mini-pupillage and pupillage applications and pupillage interview preparation. |

| Personal Description: I come from a big family and have really enjoyed teaching the little ones various different things. Now the last ones have finished A levels I realise I miss the tutoring aspect of sitting down and helping someone to learn something I enjoy understanding myself. |
Teaching Experience: Apart from tutoring my siblings and mentoring 1st year university students while doing my finals, I don't have a huge amount of formal tutoring experience. I am really enthusiastic about my subjects though, and know them inside out and really feel I have a good way of communicating with people. |
Tutoring Approach: I find my natural enthusiasm for the subjects helps make learning more interesting for the young adults. I really feel that many students need to re-start their thought process and just blank their minds and start from the beginning. I imagine there is a great number of students that are confused from the very beginning but are too embarrassed to ask/ say anything... these students stay confused having launched into subjects that they may not have studied before (Law for example) and never make up the hours so they are constantly behind. |

| Personal Description: Presently I work part-time as a legal adviser with Citizen's Advice Bureau and will begin training as a solicitor in 2010, having graduated with a 2.1 LLB law degree. I have strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, which give me the ability to relate well to others. I turned to tutoring due to my interest in law, alongside the opportunity to offer valuable support to students as I find it rewarding. |
Teaching Experience: I have over six years experience in teaching law and have taught the full spectrum of A-level law to small groups of students and on a one-to-one basis. After having graduated I have gained experience in teaching degree level students and providing valuable support with course work and exams. I have been praised by previous students I have taught for helping enhance their marks by over two grades. |
Tutoring Approach: I deliver clear subject knowledge of legal principles in plain English with a unique approach, which focuses on exactly what the student needs to do to gain high marks in the exam. Ultimately, the key to success in A-Level law is exam technique. Therefore, my teaching methods are related to useful exam tips together with comprehensive assistance in answering exam questions. Previous students have described me as a excellent tutor in helping with their understanding of law and exam technique. |

| Personal Description: I am a qualified Barrister and recently qualified Solicitor who is currently in legal practice. I completed A Levels in English, History, Economics and German and was fortunate enough to be accepted at Cambridge University to study History with Social and Political Science (encompassing Sociology and Psychology). I graduated with a high II.i degree in 2003. I completed a post-graduate law degree and I qualified at the Bar in 2005. I have recently been admitted as a solicitor and am now dual qualified. I am able to teach both academic law and legal practice, including advocacy. I am not able to provide legal advice in my capacity as a tutor. I still retain academic interests from university and have a library of in excess of 5000 books. I am a bright and enthusiatic individual who has amassed a large amount of academic material over the past 10 years and would be pleased to share it with students who have similar academic interests to me, or those looking to simply expand their knowledge and get the best from themselves. I played rugby for my college in university and have extensive university theatre and debating experience. |
Teaching Experience: I have tutored children with learning difficulties in English when I was in school; and I have carried out informal supervisions (teaching sessions) at Cambridge with other students. I have tutored a family friend to use a computer from complete beginner to compentent independent user. I have previously marked GCSE and assisted marking A-Level papers (primarily English and Philosophy). |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is holistic. By allowing the student to discuss what they are doing and present and formulate arguments much more information will be absorbed and a wider feel for the subject experienced. This is key to achieving the highest grades. This is accompanied by a more focused approach on the key syllabus issues. This is not necessarily the case for some subjects (e.g. Psychology, Law or Maths) where more direct tutoring methods will be appropriate throughout to ensure the student is aware of the relevant facts or technicalities (cases or case studies) necessary to pass their final exam. I am very patient and believe that the relaxed student will learn more than the pressured student, but am willing to press the student intellectually if it will benefit them. I am, however, happy to discuss with the student or their parents with which sort of approach they feel the student performs better. |

| Personal Description: I'm a 27 year old graduate of the prestigious University of Liverpool Law School. I have excelled both academically and within industry, throughout employment in the business sector, since completion of my degree in 2004. Having experienced the benefits of tutoring myself whilst studying for GCSEs I look forward to tutoring children who may be struggling to reach their full potential within the school system. It is simply amazing what can be achieved within an hour of one to one tuition with the right tutor. I have a warm, friendly and approachable nature, which means your child will immediately feel at ease. Most of all I am a motivator and the perfect choice if your child is lacking in confidence or feeling particularly stressed about their progress. |
Teaching Experience: I have been a mentor and tutor to youngsters on a part-time basis at various times over the past 10 years. I'm really passionate about helping others achieve more and, thankfully, have always been successful in this endeavour. I don't believe it is necessary to have a recognised teaching qualification to make a good tutor. Recent graduates, who have excellent coaching skills, are often the preferred choice. |
Tutoring Approach: I treat each of my tutees as individuals and am keen to discover their preferred learning style at the outset. I always have my mind set on the end goal - achieving the very best exam result for your child. As a result, I don't waste time - everything we learn together will be comprehensive but highly relevant. Admired for my can-do attitude, I'm able to inspire children to realise their true capabilities. I believe both you and your child will be pleased with my approach and the results that follow. I am more than happy to offer a free 30 minute consultation to discuss your child's needs and explain my approach in more detail. |

| Personal Description: I have been teaching law for over two years. I enjoy teaching as a hobby, as I have spent most of my adult life in education at university studying law. During my A levels, I developed a keen interest in English Literature & Mathematics but ultimately I decided to study Law at university. I hope that through teaching, I can encourage my tutees to take the same interest in education that my teachers taught me to take at school. When I am not teaching, I write articles for various university journals. I have over three years employment experience in the legal sector & I work as a Court Clerk for various law firms in London. |
Teaching Experience: Over two years experience in teaching Law & LPC. |
Tutoring Approach: I like to keep things simple and easy to understand. I am a patient person & I like to bring out the best in my tutees. I understand that learning takes time & I think it's important to allow tutees to take their time and to learn through asking questions. Everyone is different; some tutees prefer to learn through reading whilst others like to practice answering exam questions, some of my tutees prefer to draw mind maps to aid their memory. In any case, I am able to adapt confidently to any approach that my tutee(s) prefer(s). |

| Personal Description: I am 24 years old and have been married since May 2007. I enjoy learning and helping others to learn, deriving genuine satisfaction from seeing others progress in their comprehension of a given subject. For two years I lived and worked in Germany, and therefore have a level of German language proficiency that is difficult to attain merely in a classroom. I have a sound understanding of the grammatical principles governing sentence structure and am able to provide an insight into native language usage. I graduated with a first class law degree from the University of Nottingham and worked as a research assistant in the law school during my final year. I have also studied law at A-level, achieving a grade 'A'. As such, I am able to apply my knowledge of the law as well as my powers of analysis to help students of the law at any level to improve their understanding, legal writing and research skills, and succeed in exams. |
Teaching Experience: I spent two years teaching English and other subjects in Germany, dealing with tutees of all ages and ability. For the last 3 years I have been involved in ad hoc tutoring. |
Tutoring Approach: Because of my relatively recent experience with various levels of qualification (GCSE, A Level, Degree), I am able to focus tutees on the elements of the subject which will most benefit them when it comes to exams and coursework. However, I recognise the importance of broad subject comprehension, and therefore try to place specific matters within the wider context of the course. Above all, I aim to inspire tutees with a fascination for their subject. |

| Personal Description: I have recently completed my BSc in Chemistry at the University of Manchester. Currently I am taking a gap year before persuing a career path in teaching. I have varied interests which not only relate to my own field of Chemistry, but also relate to psychology, and literature. In my gap year I hope to travel to different places in Europe and work, while gaining more teaching experience and establishing myself as a tutor. I am dedicated to learning more about my subject just for my own interest, and learning more about education in general, and so I often keep up with new education techniques. |
Teaching Experience: My teaching experience comes from working with a wide range of young people; from all ages, backgrounds and abilities in all subject matter for the past 5 years or my life. I have worked in Tate Gallery Liverpool on projects geared around including and educating 'alternative youths' in art and all of its associated fields. While at university I was part of the student ambassador scheme which allowed me participate in a large range of activities such as university taster summer schools, museum summer sessions and homework clubs. During this time I also participated in Outreach and Reachout Programmes which, in this case, involved running lab base workshops for KS3-KS4 and above pupils, going into schools and giving practical demonstrations and mentoring. |
Tutoring Approach: I have found that the teaching of scientific subjects can be quite stoic, and so I attempt to make them more flexible, fun, and relevant. Each student is individual, and so a lesson needs to be tailored specifically to them. The best thing about having a personal tutor, is that they are able to take the necessary time with the student to really adapt to their style of learning. Teachers in schools are unable to do this, often to the detriment of some students. Requiring extra help is nothing at all to be ashamed of... That is the best thing about being a personal tutor, it allows me all the time in the world to really focus on giving my best to inviduals. |

| Personal Description: I am currently a first year student at Brighton University, studying Law with Business. Before that I was at Strodes College in Egham where I studied Law and Business to A Level and IT, Economics and English to AS Level. Through my Law A Level and Degree I have learned to become able to remember a large number of facts which I can recall at any time. I'd like to think I'm an outgoing person, with a focus and drive to do well in life. |
Teaching Experience: Throughout my secondary school career I was a student mentor. This involved helping students with any work with which they needed assistance. It also involved providing support to students throughout their transition into secondary school life. Furthermore, in my part time job I was heavily involved in the training of new starters, learning how to work at different paces and adapt my teaching style to different types of learners. |
Tutoring Approach: I work my hardest to make the subject being studied as interesting as possible. Through my Law A Level I have learned a lot of different study tips. These come in particularly useful when trying to remember large amounts of facts. I am able to adapt my teaching style to different ages, depending on what it is they are stuck with and how they learn. |
