Personal Description:
I am a qualified primary school teacher with 20 years experience working in schools in Eastbourne. My main subject is Art (I have a degree in ceramics) so much of my teaching is through creative, visual, practical and kinaesthetic teaching whereby my pupils enjoy their lessons and are enthused into a love of learning. I am also involved in the Eastbourne Art scene and paint at home when I get the chance. I am friendly, fair and holistic in my approach . I have two children (13 and 15) whom I try and fit my work around and feel I could offer a positive tutoring experience to children and their families in this area of teaching. I can also offer adult tuition for those adults who may need to brush up on English.

Teaching Experience:

I qualified in 1993 with a post graduate certificate in education after having been a self employed potter in Bristol exhibiting my ceramics. I have co-ordinated Art, Maths and played an active role in early years play and learning with all the necessary knowledge of the primary curriculum including the Foundation Stage. I have taught many children with E.A.L. and have a sound knowledge of special needs teaching using methods such as Makaton signing and Widgit symbols to enhance children's understanding. I would use the Numicon system to support primary maths and am familiar with Key Stage 1 and 2 age range as this is what I have taught mostly over the last few years. I am familiar with SATS and have been on many courses over the years on all subjects. I particularly enjoy history, art and maths and could teach very basic French too. I have recently trained to be a specialist E.A.L teacher and work a peripatetic week visiting schools across the county to support non English speaking children and their families.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in encouragement, boosting self esteem and making tutoring interesting, as I have seen what boredom, frustration and poor engagement can do to young children. They need to be switched on and confident in what they do in order to achieve. I always start at a level a child can succeed in and am aware that sometimes you have to change your approach depending on the child. I have a bank of subject and topic ideas suitable for this age range and have been able to think on my toes over the years.

Personal Description:
I am a University of Oxford graduate in Modern History and Politics. I worked for a year in the charity sector and then completed a joint MA in International Development and Politics. I have previously worked in educational non-profits as I am passionate about giving everyone the opportunity for a good education, and the benefits of education.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught abroad, in both India and Kenya, to a mixture of ages. I also have experience working with Japanese students as a Teaching Assistant on an Oxford summer school. These experiences have helped me learn how to explain myself concisely and clearly, to overcome not only the difficulty of the subject I was teaching, but the language barrier also.

I also have experience tutoring students who wish to apply to Oxbridge, to help them with what they will face at interview, and with their personal statements.

I have over three years and 300 hours of tutoring experience in multiple subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a very interactive tutor who asks lots of questions and helps a pupil understand what is being taught. I like to provide tools which they can apply to their personal study when I'm not directly helping them.

I like to encourage lateral thinking and links with society and life, for instance, in economics I would discuss current economic news to help understand economic concepts being learnt and to apply the learning.

Personal Description:
I recently graduated from Drama Centre London, top of my year, with an MA in European and Classical Acting (which incorporated a real focus on Chekhov and Shakespeare). Although in essence a practical course, it gave me a wealth of experience in 'unlocking' classical language and style, interrogating character and thematic devices. This built on my BA degree in Theatre, Performance Studies and Literature from Warwick University where I graduated with a 1st.

I specialise in deconstructing all forms of literature and thrive in finding ways to get my students to actively engage with the text. I have taken part and personally facilitated workshops on Shakespeare at spaces including: The Globe, universities in Japan, Stratford Circus and Warwick University, and this has given me a wealth of experience and tools to access classical text. I am incredibly passionate about making text accessible and figuring out what works for the individual student.

I have been an experienced tutor of Drama and English literature since my time studying at Warwick University, and more recently worked in Russia tutoring a 12-year-old girl for Public School Entrance Exams in England (which she successfully gained entry for). I also run workshops and one-to-one session on audition, technique for students preparing for drama school auditions.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching Experience
Private tutoring:
Two years' experience of private tutoring at A Level/GCSE in English Literature; Drama (performance and text work); English as a foreign language;
Tutoring for 13 + Entrance Exams;
Drama teacher/Workshops;
Warwick University Youth Theatre, facilitator for Stratford Circus; Saturday Circus skills; Curious Directive (theatre company), workshops on Macbeth at various Japanese Universities.

Additional Experience
Different Every Night: Mike Davis Workshop at The Globe (2011)
Teaching Shakespeare: Shakespeare's Globe Theatre (2011)
Ecuador Volunteers: Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (2009-2010)

I first started leading workshops for children through the Warwick Arts Centre Youth Theatre, where I became a Youth Theatre Leader for the 14-16 year-old age group. For a year, I led workshops for three hours every Saturday morning in which we explored different types of storytelling, movement, and music culminating in a show we co-wrote at the end of the year. I also directed for Warwick Arts Centre 'Play in a Day', which is all in the title really! I had a large group of 4-8 year-olds and we had the day to devise a play to perform to parents in the evening: a tiring but exhilarating day! I have since gone on to lead workshops using theatre in prisons, youth groups in London and in Quito, Ecuador. This September I was so excited to return to facilitating workshops in 'Circus Skills' at Stratford Circus.

Tutoring Approach:

I have worked with students across all ages and this has made me comfortable in adapting my approach to each student's specific requirements. Unlocking text to make it accessible and exciting is of upmost importance to the way I work especially when it comes to classical text. Feeling removed or finding themes irrelevant to modern life are challenges that I often face with students, and I am passionate about removing these blocks. I also believe that an appreciation of literature, both classical and contemporary, is important and makes a difference to performance across the board: encouraging a critical approach improves analytical skills important for all subject areas, and helps in writing well-balanced, well-structured essays.

My training as an actress enables me to provide an innovative and stimulating approach to the individual student. I work hard to encourage confidence in each session, as this not only improves engagement with the subject but also helps develop a strong individual writing style. I tend to figure out what approach works best for each student over the first few sessions and structure lessons accordingly so as to maximise learning and overall enjoyment of the subject.

I am a high achiever and extremely conscientious with regards to all elements of my work. It this attention to detail and a strong work ethic I intend to impart to students, be it in structuring revision plans, planning essays or analysing text. The importance of proficiently organising work not only improves success but dramatically decreases stress levels, which is something I have found to be the biggest block for student preparing for difficult exams and auditions or school entrance exams.

Personal Description:
My name is Paul and I am an experienced Primary Teacher and Private Tutor. I have a PGCE in Primary School Teaching and a BSc in Biology. I am also an experienced designer of education resources for young learners having worked for Espresso Education for ten years. For your peace of mind and assurance, I am registered with the CRB.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 20 years of experience of working in Education at three key stages: Foundation, KS1 and KS2, having worked in Infant, Junior and Primary Schools in Dorset and Hampshire. I teach Maths and English plus a range of other curriculum areas including ICT, Geography and History. I am available to tutor children in the Primary phase whether they are in the State or Private Sector.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer one - to - one tuition to children aged 4 to 11 years, from Hampshire, West Sussex, Wiltshire and Dorset. I also travel to other areas of the country. Of particular interest to me is ascertaining what the barriers to learning are and helping a child overcome these by breaking skills and concepts down into manageable chunks. I have found this to be the most powerful and effective method for elevating a child's confidence in a subject. In my teaching career, I have consistently found that children who experience success and see value in learning a subject are, in turn, inspired to greater achievement and further progress.

I provide educational support and guidance for pupils from all backgrounds, ranging from children who lack confidence to those who need to be challenged and extended. I adopt a calm, clear and consistent approach to tearning, engaging children with enthusiasm and effective, individually tailored programmes of study. This technique has inspired hundreds of children to achieve their full potential. Please do not hesitate to ask how support can be provided for your child's individual needs.

Personal Description:
Hello - thanks for looking at my tutoring page! My name is Richard and I'm 29 years old. I am an experienced teacher, having worked in a range of schools. I am an active musician, composing music as well as performing - both as a singer and an organist. I have broad musical interests - I'm just at home listening to Sunday Girl as I am to Rachmaninov. I'm friendly and approachable, and keen to help all people to meet their full potential. Please drop me an email to get in touch.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a teacher since graduating in 2007. I completed my PGCE Teacher Training in 2008, working in a range of contrasting environments. I spent the first two years of my teaching career at a boarding school in Gloucestershire, where I was responsible for planning lessons in the lower school and at GCSE, as well as teaching composition and compositional techniques at A Level. I currently head up the Music Department in a high-achieving school in Wimbledon. I am very experienced teaching the Edexcel and AQA GCSE, AS and A2 courses, but am also a Senior Examiner for AQA in their A Level papers. I have previous experience of teaching History and PSHE and am very able at analysing source based questions.

Tutoring Approach:

More than anything, I think that it is important to establish your goals for our tutorials at the start. This ensures that we can work together to get the results you want. I am able to travel to your house via public transport or host at my house in Surbiton. I have lots of helpful resources that I have produced and published which will greatly aid your learning and help you to increase your understanding. I am able to tutor via Skype or MSN if this is more convenient to you. I run Sibelius at home and can easily work with your compositions to suggest ideas to help meet higher grades. I am friendly, approachable and professional with a strong knowledge of music and history. I am able to help with University preparation should this be of interest and work closely with my school pupils in their applications for Music College/Oxbridge.

Personal Description:
I am 25 years old and am currently studying for a graduate medical degree at Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge. During the application process for this course I was required to sit the UKCAT aptitude test, where I achieved a very strong score (Section One: 730, Section Two: 860, Section Three: 790, Section Four: 730). I have recently left the Army as a Captain, having served for 4 years, including an operational tour of Afghanistan and various training exercises abroad in Belize, Brunei and Kenya. Most recently I was employed as a platoon commander at the Army Foundation College, Harrogate where I was responsible for training and teaching a platoon of 48 sixteen to eighteen year olds over the course of a year.

Before I attended the commissioning course at Sandhurst, I achieved a 2.i in politics, philosophy and economics from St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford. My focus during this degree was towards politics and economics, with a particular emphasis on British political and economic developments from 1900 right up to contemporary life.

I attended a state comprehensive school in West Sussex before I went up to university, where I took both my A-levels and GCSE's. During Sixth Form I took four subjects to A-level (Math's, Further Math's, Chemistry and History) and two subjects to AS-level (Physics and Economics), achieving an A Grade in all subjects. At GCSE I achieved five A*'s (Including Math's and Double Science) and six A's as well as an A in an additional math's qualification (FSMQ).

Outside of my studies I am a keen rugby player and have represented school, college and my battalion; I currently play regularly for Bury St Edmund's Wolves. I also enjoy trekking, picked up whilst achieving my Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award at school, which has led me on several expeditions, including traversing the entire length of the Spanish Pyrenees.

Teaching Experience:

As discussed above, my last job in the military was working at the Army Foundation College, Harrogate; a post I held for over eighteen months. During this time my responsibility was the teaching, training and welfare of a large platoon of sixteen to eighteen year olds. This included lessons on basic military skills going right through to looking at the Law of Armed Conflict and the contemporary political context of military deployments as well as offering assistance with their educational work in literacy, numeracy and IT. During this time I gained my Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector which is a formal qualification that covers various aspects of teaching theory and practice.

This teaching was delivered to groups ranging in size from over 200 people in a lecture theatre down to a one-on-one session in a classroom. There was a wide range of ability groups within my platoon, which has given me a good experience in how to tailor teaching towards an individual's aptitude and how to keep different people motivated. Overall my experiences at the College have given me a solid foundation from which to build on with my academic achievements and will allow me to offer high quality tutorials that engage and stimulate students as well as improve their prospects with regards to exams.

Alongside tutoring for exams and specific subjects I also offer sessions on all aspects of UCAS applications. Having been successful through the application process twice (to both Oxford and Cambridge Universities) I have a thorough understanding of what is required to make your application stand out and how to shine at interview. I can offer advice to both prospective arts students as well as science students, with a particular emphasis on Oxbridge applicants - including the separate application forms, interview techniques and aptitude tests required.

Tutoring Approach:

My overall approach is to start out with an open and honest discussion of where the student wants to get to and a frank assessment of where they currently are, before moving onto drawing up a realistic plan and agreeing on our respective roles and responsibilities to achieve it.

I use a coaching and mentoring attitude to teaching, whereby the student is given control of their own learning and I am there to facilitate that. I work from the belief that if the student does not take ownership of their own performance then their achievements will be a lot lower than their full potential.

Personal Description:
I am a 27 year old History graduate and PGCE holder, living in the Morecambe area. I value highly the benefit of one to one tuition, and excel in recognising a child's area of difficulty and formulating strategies to remedy it. I am a enthusiastic connoisseur of history and a competent mathematician, with good patience and sense of humour.

Teaching Experience:

In 2011 I was awarded with the PGCE certificate after a years training. Subsequently i have privately tutored several children, primarily focusing on their year 6 Maths SATS and preparing them for the transition to secondary school.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to make tutoring as fun and stimulating as possible, as after a long day at school, the last thing a child wants is to be faced by another worksheet. Application of lessons to everyday life and environment is a special area of focus for me, as i find when children can relate to the subject being taught, they demonstrate a faster rate of understanding and progress.

Having been a part time participant of mainstream education until recently, and having tutored four different pupils at different levels in different subjects in that time, I have a clear understanding of the structure of current A-Level courses and the necessary requirements. All my previous pupils unanimously achieved high grades.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my tutoring approach to the tutee's needs and the subject being taught. Generally, I do a combination of exam technique, subject revision and coursework support. I have made many an amusing yet educational quiz and encourage pupils as much as possible for them to achieve the best grade possible.

Personal Description:
I am currently in the second year of my PhD at the University of York in the Archaeology Department. My research focuses on British defences and their historical, social and political contexts, in particular York and Hull's city walls from 1550 to 1700. My area of interest is primarily Britain but I have a broad knowledge of European history from the Medieval to modern times. During my education I have studied numerous periods, including Richard II, Medieval England, Early Modern Europe, 19th century German unification, World War I & II, the rise of the Nazis, Native Americans, Vichy France, the Italian Renaissance, the Cold War, English Civil War, Tudors and Stuarts, as well as other areas and periods through my own interest and study.

Teaching Experience:

I taught 15 first year undergraduates for a module within the Archaeology Department called History and Theory. This looked at the historical and theoretical contexts of archaeology and involved a large number of readings and assigned tasks devised by myself for the students, in conjunction with them producing two essays that I also graded. I also partook in an accredited teaching qualification from The Higher Education Academy. This involved producing a portfolio relating to my own teaching and participation in numerous workshops looking at the practical and theoretical aspects of academic teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

Having studied History through GCSE, A-Level, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and now with a PhD I feel that I know what a student requires. Primarily this includes the opportunity to foster their own ideas and thoughts that are then framed within an academic context, based upon independent judgement and application of reasoned arguments. A student must be able formulate this for themselves and not simply taught the "facts" or be spoon-fed information. From teaching at undergraduate level I feel it is important that students are able to challenge ideas but then also themselves then have their own viewpoints challenged. Without the student wanting to learn for themselves it is near impossible to achieve any results, so a large degree of independent learning is required.

Personal Description:
I recently completed my PhD in History of Art at University College London (UCL). I have published my research in a number of academic journals and edited book collections, and I am a practicing artist, currently based in Hulme, Manchester.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully trained secondary school teacher, specialising in Art & Design and Photography at KS3, KS4 & KS5. I have 8 years teaching experience, including working as a specialist Learning Support Teacher, and in Special Needs schools catering for children and young adults with a range of special educational needs, from moderate learning difficulties to profound and multiple disabilities.

I have particular expertise in studio practice (art and design), digital and darkroom photography (theory, history and practice), literacy, social and vocational skills, as well as History of Art, Anthropology and History of Medicine at undergraduate level.

I am also experienced in teaching at undergraduate level, having taught gallery-based first year History of Art courses, for University College London's History of Art Department. I am also currently teaching part time at the University of Manchester on the History of Art degree programme.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a one-to-one, flexible approach to learning and teaching, which first establishes the needs and goals of the student, and then sets out clearly structured strategies for achieving these goals. These may be results-focused when preparing for exams, or aimed at developing a broader understanding of a subject area, depending upon the student's own priorities. I am happy to work with any course materials the student may provide, and I am familiar with all current GCSE and A Level syllabuses. I am able to guide A Level students through their AS or A Level studies as private candidates if this is preferred, offering consistent, dedicated 1-2-1 tuition for the full term of the course, and arranging exam entry with an appropriate local college or sixth form. I can also provide practical tuition for students who are preparing their art portfolios for University submission.

Tutoring may take place at the student's home, or at my art studio in central Manchester, where I can provide a range of art materials and resources by prior arrangement, for more intensive practical art sessions. Please note that I can travel within 20 miles of central Manchester based on the fee structure quoted below, travelling further will incur a small additional fuel fee.

I have had recent successes with my private students, one of whom attended one-to-one sessions at my Manchester studio for 8 weeks and improved her predicted GCSE Art result of a B by two grades, achieving an A* in her final art exam. My most recent undergraduate student also attained a First overall in her History of Art degree, achieving a high score of 78 on her dissertation project, with intensive tutorial support conducted via Skype.

*Please note that due to the time-intensive nature of undergraduate level tutoring, I am only able to take on a maximum of three undergraduate tutees at any given time. Please see below for my current availability for tutoring at this level.*

I am currently tutoring ONE undergraduate student.

STUDENT TESTIMONIALS:

"I wanted a tutor to give me help and advice on my undergraduate history of art dissertation. I needed reassurance that what I was writing was okay and some one to proof read and give me their opinion on my arguments. Gemma was brilliant, she gave me the confidence that I needed to keep going with my dissertation by reassuring me that I was on the right track. She discussed my ideas with me in detail, proof read all of my work and suggested and sourced articles that I might want to have a look at. I have recently graduated from Newcastle University with a First in History of Art and Media and I know that I owe Gemma a huge thank you for the support she gave me on the way to achieving this."

- Celandine, Newcastle.

Personal Description:
I am a confident, diligent and sociable person, with a wide knowledge of world history, and specialising in American and South-East Asian history and culture. I hold a double first class Bachelors degree in History and American Studies from Canterbury Christ Church University, and have had many years experience leading youth projects such as youth councils, young persons' scrutiny forums (YPSF) and have acted as a liasion on several historical and cultural preservation projects such as the Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) and the Church House Preservation Committee.

Teaching Experience:

I have previous experience as a teaching assistant to KS3 and KS4 level history at a state secondary school.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a holistic approach to the teaching of history, ensuring that the student becomes engaged within a fuller understanding of the period being studied. As a former student and teach of history, I realise that the principal block to a tutee's understanding of historical concepts is a lack of immersion within the relevant time-frames and thus an inability to fully comprehend why certain actions were taken, and the wider effect this had.

Thus in my approach I am firm believer that it is as important for every student to understand to a higher level than that offered by the current state curriculum the context of the period they are studying. As a consequence I offer tailored introductions to said period's culture, economy, religious and political setting, and even physical geography.

Furthermore, I offer the necessary skills to craft this knowledge into well-reasoned, informed essays. My intimate knowledge of the state education system and beyond has imbued me with the ability to gauge how assignments will be assessed and thus I can work with students not only on improving their knowledge, but showcasing this in highly-marked, structured and coherent written forms.

I use a number of methods to achieve this, including homework assignments, but also using character adoption, audio-visual aids and a mixture of written and verbal questions of varying length and form.

Personal Description:
I'm twenty years of age and I will begin my third year reading English at the University of Cambridge early in October. I'm enthusiastic about tutoring because I've experienced first hand the potential to inspire young people to success through encouragement and the fostering of ability; my own English teacher was the reason that I became interested in English literature and eventually went on to study it at Cambridge. But more than this I feel that the subjects I have a knowledge of (as listed below) have made very positive impressions upon my personality, being deeply rooted in culture, ethics, responsibility and rights. I really believe in my subjects and I want to pass that passion on to young people.

To dispel any concern about my background, I am from a low-income, single-parent household. My two years at Cambridge has introduced me to very high level academia and to peers who had a better education (at least on paper) than I did. My experiences of comprehensive school education and world-class university have shaped me into a person who is able to engage with anyone from any background, and I really believe in helping people from Stoke-on-Trent and the Midlands more generally to reach upper-level institutions, in which they are vastly under-represented.

Teaching Experience:

I have very little teaching experience and I will in no way disguise that from you. My only formal role as a tutor was during high school and some of VI form, in which I tutored 11-15 year old children in reading once per week.

I would like to take this opportunity to stress that I have no formal qualifications in teaching and that I will only be available until early October; my sessions would be, in this case, catered toward short-term goals which could be achieved before this time.

Tutoring Approach:

Having no previous experience, my approach would be somewhat experimental, immersive and very much catered to the individual involved.

My view, from experience, is that instilling enthusiasm in the tutee is of paramount importance. Learning by rote or by simply forcing information into someone's head does not tend to engage their creative energies in the writing of an essay, for example. As such, I would hope to take up an approach which is both expansive and thorough in its appreciation of the material at hand; but also effectively explore the curriculum and mark-schemes for the examination(s) in order to achieve effective deployment of the material.

Some samples of how I might teach runs as follows:

-- English --

[Assuming we are working with, say, Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men]

The main bulk of teaching would involve and in-depth exploration of:

- The novel's historical and cultural significance;
- Possible film productions, and how the difference in media has affected reception and portrayal of the story;
- Themes running within the texture of the language: their metaphorical and symbolic significance;
- Reading aloud extracts of the novel to feel the characters and their dialogue rather than confining them to silent reading;
- Creative representations of the plot, its characters and the importance of the work more generally.

In teaching these elements the mark-scheme will have largely been fulfilled from a material perspective. Overlooked elements of the mark-scheme and notes from examiners reports can often unlock the higher grade boundaries for students who are able but simply do not know that they have to include these elements in an essay. These may include:

- A thoughtful, relevant personal response to the work;
- Use of specific types of language, punctuation and grammar according to the level of the examination;
- Producing 'flair' in essay writing;
- Structuring a well-written essay;
- Spelling, vocabulary;
- A focussed response.

These are all requirements which can be trained in a tutee, and are relatively easy to attain through practice and with the right kind of material to deploy. What I propose is holistic and engaging, as well as being designed with a view to developing written technique to access the higher areas of the mark scheme.

This example is largely catered toward GCSE tutoring for English Literature; but I am flexible in the range of subjects that I have knowledge of and in the level of teaching which is require according to the ability of the tutee. My only request is that, should you be interested in having me provide tutoring services, you allow me some time and plenty of information to work with in order to get to know the student and his/her capabilities. I am a fast reader and a quick learner, so most subjects within my remit should be applicable.

Personal Description:
I am an Italian native speaker currently reading for a doctorate in Japanese studies at the University of Oxford. Other than my native language, I can tutor in Japanese (10 years of studying plus highest proficiency certificate), German (12 years), French (4 years) Latin and ancient Greek (5 years respectively).

Given my different background in European as well as in Oriental studies, I am also available to tutor in a wide range of humanistic subjects, from history (western and eastern, classic and contemporary) to literature (English, American, italian, Japanese, German, French and classics). Furthermore, having been a university student, and an aspiring writer for a long time now, I am able to give advice and tutor in writing for school and university, as well as in general structure and grammar, both in English and in the above languages.

Apart from academics, my interests are cinema, books, comics, comedy, drawing, painting and sports. If you share my interests, or have other, it will be fun to talk about them in our classes.

Teaching Experience:

In the academic year 2011-2012, I taught and tutored in Italian at Smith College, Massachusetts, to advanced students and first-years. I tailored the lessons to the students' specific needs and any questions they might have. I also organised conversation groups with the first-years as well as introducing specific aspects of Italian culture, such as songs, food, and historical representations.

At Smith, I was responsible for privately tutoring Professor Susan Etheredge generally in the Italian language, as well as assisting her with written formal reports she would need for academic presentations in front of an Italian audience.

I have taught a variety of languages in different countries and settings. I have privately taught Italian, English and Japanese from 2003 to high-school and university students, and people with casual interest and different levels of knowledge.

I also tutor and give advice in academic writing and professional writing to university students in English and Italian.

Tutoring Approach:

Languages are multi-faceted living things that evolve constantly. That is why, in my lessons, I want to be as flexible and tailor the approach to the tutee's needs. Given that grammar is a fundamental aspect of the language, I would like to present it not as a boring, monolithic block that needs to be remembered mechanically, but instead as a tool with which a person can say in another language whatever he says in his/her own native one. We can tell the same English jokes in Italian, and talk about our favourite German book in Japanese. The language is out there for us to use it.

I would craft my lessons so to give students a solid background in the structure and grammar of the language (or history, literature, etc.) and then move on to the tutee's field of interest to expand vocabulary and mastery of the structure. That is because I believe that it is easier, and more fun, to learn about the things we like, rather than being stuck with sources that do not awaken our interest.

Also, since any language is the mirror of a people, it will be interesting to integrate the lessons with news and discussions about the cultural aspects (movies, music, history, food, sports and the like) that are expressed in that particular language.

Personal Description:
I studied at the London Oratory School in Fulham where I achieved all As in my GCSEs and did A levels in Art, Drama, English and History. I was awarded the top achievement prize in Drama. I then went on to study for a BA in Acting at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama from which I graduated with a high First this summer. I am a professional drum player and have been teaching the drums for several years. My current career is as a professional actor and other than teaching, in my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, watching films and listening to music.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring the drums, English and Drama for a few years and have enjoyed a range of pupils from child to adult. I have led many acting workshops and have helped students apply for Drama Schools. Both my parents are full time teachers and I have helped them with many holiday classes.

Tutoring Approach:

Having lived with teachers my whole life I have learnt that every child has the potential to succeed as long as they are encouraged in an enthusiastic and direct way. I very much believe that the more hard work they put in the more they will see the results and I aim to ensure that my classes inspire them to want to do well for themselves.

Personal Description:
I currently live in the Oxfordshire area and have just finished studying for a Masters Degree in history at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. I previously attended Kingston university where i studied for my BA in history. Throughout my time at university I have studied politics, economic, philosophy and english and would be happy and confident to tutor in all of these areas. I have extensive experience working with children of all ages, this comes not only through academic tuition, but managing and training cricket and rugby teams.

Teaching Experience:

Over the past four years I have taught over ten children all of whom have been at varying levels. This has included teaching multiple exam boards, and various subjects. I have also been working as a teacher at a home school for four children, this has involved taking the children on school trips both in the UK and other places around the world. Therefore, as part of this role I have to set lesson plans, mark work, and set homework.

Tutoring Approach:

It is important to remember each person is different and that they all learn differently therefore I ensure that I am very adaptable and flexible to the students needs. I also feel that you learn best when you find something interesting therefore I like to make sure that all lessons are interesting and that the tutee can relate to the subject/topic.
