Personal Description:
I am a PhD student, undertaking my doctorate in Environmental Sciences, with a focus on soil nutrient cycling and nutrient transport to surface and ground waters. I completed my BSc in Physical Geography at the University of Exeter and gained first class honours in this.

Teaching Experience:

I carried out teacher training at a basic level with the University of Exeter in order to participate in the Students Associates Scheme. After this training I spent three weeks in a local secondary school where I actively participated in Geography and Religious Studies lessons, and was able to provide work plans for higher and lower achieving students. I also worked closely with students that had special educational needs.
I also have experience in teaching sports to groups of young children.

Tutoring Approach:

During my time at the secondary school I found that I produced good results working one-to-one with students, particularly with students that were struggling to understand concepts or were having difficulty with the teaching style being used in the classroom. I am patient, focussed and willing to work hard to enable a tutee to achieve their goals.

Personal Description:
I am a dynamic teacher with a genuine passion for teaching. I have an degree in Bsc (Hons) Human Geography and PGCE in Secondary school teaching age 11-18. I am currently a teacher at a school in Birmingham recently judged "outstanding" by Ofsted. In addition to being a teacher, I am also a part of the teaching & learning team which ensures outstanding practice is consistent.

Teaching Experience:

My first teaching post was at an academy in Manchester. At this school i taught RE and History at GCSE level, as well as Geography (my specialist subject)

I am currently in a teaching post at an "outstanding" school in Birmingham, where my subject is Geography. I have experience of teaching Key Stage 3,4 and 5, with proven consistently high results.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in making learning personal to every student. I would look to establish what aspects of the subject(s) or topic(s) the student is struggling with, and aim to create an individual plan to help tackle these problems. My teaching consists of using various learning techniques that will help those pupils that are auditory, visual or kinaesthetic learners. I aim to build students confidence and exam technique.

Personal Description:
Graduate of Accounts and Economics, with other main subjects - English, Geography and Business studies.
A gold medalist in Business communication.

I am very passionate about imparting education as per the British curriculum, teaching in an innovative way where children enjoy their lessons, find them exciting, encouraging and fun.

Possess significant knowledge of teaching 11+ entrance exams and SATS preparation, comprising of verbal and non verbal reasoning, English grammar, comprehension, answering questions from articles or essays, formal and informal letter writing, framing descriptive and perfect sentences.

I prepare pupils for Cambridge English Grammar that is Parts of speech, Figures of Speech, Synonyms-Antonyms, Clauses, etc. I strongly believe that Grammar and spellings are the foundation of conquering English language to succeed in academics.

Undertake tutoring of MATHS, SCIENCE, ENGLISH, GEOGRAPHY from year 2 upto GCSE's.
Year 10 and GCSE'S are supported and offered skills in Business Studies projects, Anthology (comparisons of English literature and poems), exam paper writing, Shakespeare and his work, Novels like Men and Mice etc. This includes learning how to write the character sketch with evidence, highlighting the significance or the underlying ideas in novels and articles, comparing authors /poets, their style of work and writing.

Parents have certified my teaching skills and most of my tutees having bagged A grades, received admissions to their choice of grammar schools or have progressed in the most prominent universities.

Teaching for me is adopting a holistic approach for the grooming of a child with enthusiasm and confidence- signposting to attain the highest runk of success.

A PUPIL'S ACHIEVEMENT IS MY SUCCESS.

Teaching Experience:

More than 10+ years teaching both the primary and secondary pupils.

Have taught in various schools, both private and state maintained, tutored privately to pupils from various multi cultural backgrounds. Worked as a Teaching Assistant in special needs schools. Organised and planned classroom lessons.

A vast knowledge of 11+ entrance exams which means teaching verbal and non verbal reasoning power. Many have mastered the art of solving maths in a minute whether equations, fractions, algebra or mental maths.

English is tutored by me which includes preparing students for GCSEs exams -- which means imparting fluent writing skills, cambridge grammar, character sketch, Shakespeare's work, Literature and Anthology (comparing poems) and helping with course work.

Students have successfully mastered interview skills through me, and gained foot hold in independent and grammar schools of their preference.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is completely different : I believe all children are blessed, and as a tutor, my success lies in tapping their potential by changing their weaknesses into strengths.

This means, I am very patient, punctual, consistent, professional and give my best.

Motivation, inspiration, appreciation and constant appraisals are the keys to capture the minds of children.

Pupils have learnt to calculate maths without the use of calculators, thereby using their brain power, solving mentally, and being faster.
Teaching for me is adopting a holistic approach for the grooming of a child with enthusiasm and confidence- signposting to attain the highest level of success.

I have taught and still teach children of mixed ability, many gifted and talented, some with learning difficulties, few weak in spellings, some with a dislike for Maths. Taking these challenges in my stride, I have successfully and patiently inspired them, motivated them, appreciated their efforts and helped them to excel and achieve beyond their abilities.

It gives a great sense of achievement, when often, children recognise and greet me in public places saying :"Miss, I remember you and your inspirational words; I am currently doing my final year in Psychology and want to become a Psychologist." or
"Miss I got my admissions in Watford grammar school. Thank you Miss for extending all your support."

Parents too, feel overwhelmed and happy about their children excelling with flying colours.

I believe: Honour and Shame from no condition lie
Act well your part, there all the Honour lies.

I PREFER STUDENTS VISITING MY PLACE FOR LESSONS. HOWEVER I TRAVEL TO THEIR PLACE AT AN EXTRA TRAVEL SUPPLEMENT.

Personal Description:
I am a university student currently studying at the university of St Andrews for a Honours program in Zoology. I am a native French speaker ( I actually am French) and was awarded the distinction of best French A-level results in East Africa in 2011, with a score of 499/500. I performed well both at IGCSE'S and A-levels ( IGCSE 6 A*'s and 4 A's, geography, Chemistry and Biology were among the A*'s, and are the subjects I took at A level, in which I achieved A* AA in the same order).
Last year, after a long and complicated admission process, I was offered a place to go study at Oxford University, but unfortunately had to decline it due to financial hardship.
I have lived in Kenya for now 7 years, and have a genuine interest in animal behaviour and conservation.

Teaching Experience:

I do not have much experience when it comes to teaching to be perfectly honest, although I often volunteered to be a student helper for those who had difficulties with certains subjects in my whole school. I am very familiar with the A-level syllabus by CIE, and the exam techniques required at this particular exam board.
I can offer advice and assistance with university application process too, as I was tutored to match Oxford requirements in terms of personal statements and interviews, I can also give you some tips about the Oxford interview processes.

Tutoring Approach:

I will first ask the person to tell me by email what their difficulties are, and what they would like us to go through together so that I can get together the information and any details necessary before meeting and discussing it. I am fairly flexible, everyone learns in a different manner and I will try my best to match my tutoring to the person's learning habits.

Personal Description:
I'm a final-year First Class LSE Economist with over four years' experience teaching 200+ students. I attained 11 A*s at GCSE; a 98.2% average at AS-Level, the highest in my year; 4 A*s in my self-studied A-Levels, achieving 100% in ten exams; and the top mark in my 2nd year at LSE, winning the "Economics Examiner Prize", and the "Rishi Madlani Award" for Macroeconomics. I own Enspire Academy, an 11+ creative learning tuition centre, and Advantage Maths and Advantage Economics, which offer Edexcel and AQA A-Level revision courses.

It may therefore surprise you to learn that I dropped out of school when I was seventeen to begin work as a private tutor, while studying for my A-Levels in my spare time. To put it simply: I hated school. It was either too fast or too slow for me. I became frustrated, outpaced and bored. My attendance dwindled through my GCSE years and by sixth form I realised my time at Sutton Grammar was better spent helping other students and independently studying for my own exams. My headmaster, to whom I am very grateful, was gracious enough to permit me to take my remaining exams at Sutton and to my former teachers'’ joint surprise, I achieved the highest AS-Level grades in the year and went on to receive offers to read Economics at LSE and Cambridge.

I am now fully committed to helping other students achieve their academic pursuits. After graduating, I plan to complete an MPhil in Economics at Cambridge, train at Oxford as a teacher, and then live the rest of my life doing what I love: tutoring!

Awards:
- Rishi Madlani Award: for the highest mark (91) in Macroeconomics (EC210) out of 600+ LSE students
- Economics Examiner Prize: outstanding merit in my 2nd year at LSE
- ifs Young Business Writer of the Year 2013: My article came 1st in the country
- Royal Economic Society Young Economist of the Year Competition: 3rd internationally out of 750 entries
- Harvard Prize: Highest grades in the year
- Young Enterprise Achiever of the Year 2012
- Jack Petchey Award for mentoring younger pupils and my general contributions to school life
- GCSE Prize & Business Prize

Teaching Experience:

At A-Level, I specialise in AQA and Edexcel Economics. I've been particularly successful at AS-Level where two of my students achieved full UMS (100%) in both modules (feel free to check my reviews). Over the past few years I've developed a wealth of adoptable and effective techniques, strategies and frameworks to help students achieve the very highest marks. I am currently working on a revision guide and Youtube tutorial series which will pull together an expansive collection of model answers, real world applications and evaluation points that I've created with students, teachers and examiners into a concise, comprehensive and understandable set of resources.

I also run Enspire Academy, an 11+ tuition centre which exploits creative teaching and new technology to deliver a highly effective and rewarding educational experience. Our focus on creative learning manifests itself in our content design: Pokemon Percentages, Disney Movie Script Writing and Verbal Reasoning Hangman have all proven to be huge hits with our students, while in no way detracting from their educational development. 11+ preparation can be crushingly dull; my aim is to turn it into a more stimulating, interesting experience for students, and work more to build academic skills that will endure beyond entrance examination.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm a big fan of technology so all notes are made on my iPad and lesson audio is recorded; both notes and audio are then synced to a Dropbox account for parents to access, allowing students to review past lessons (particularly useful around revision time) and parents to understand how best to help their child improve. I also use a screen capture software to create video tutorials, with my students as narrators, which leaves them with a wonderfully personalised set of revision resources and reduces lesson time wasted on repeating past content.

Strategy and mastery are key to exam success. Assessments take place before the first lesson so I can get an initial (admittedly sketchy) understanding of a student's profile. The first lesson is designed in reflection of assessment performance and aims to evaluate: potential achievement, current weaknesses and pace of learning. From here we can agree on targets and a route to achievement. I keep a spreadsheet of my students' past mistakes, which we habitually review in the lead up to final examination, while building a comprehensive series of revision materials (videos, recordings, flashcards and more). Repeat mistakes are tackled with an infinite question generator (for unlimited practice), past paper exercises, or, in more niche cases, I will design individualised worksheets to specifically address the problem topic.

I'm always happy to go into more complete detail about my approach - please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Personal Description:
I'm a Cambridge graduate with a PGCE from the University of Nottingham and nine years of secondary teaching experience. I stopped teaching in July 2014 so that I could pursue a writing career, but I am still passionate about helping people to fulfil their potential, especially in my subject of geography.

Teaching Experience:

I taught for nine years in an outstanding school in Oxford. It was a large comprehensive with a varying catchment area, so I am used to bringing out the best in students with a wide range of abilities. During that time I taught students aged 11 - 18, including GCSE and A level courses and their associated skills papers. I specialise in human geography but have also taught physical geography and decision-making papers involving pre-released material.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim is always to make learning interesting and relevant. I will work with students to find out their specific needs, and provide a range of approaches to enable each individual to succeed to the best of his or her ability. I believe in clear dialogue, honest feedback and active encouragement to boost confidence and nurture talents.

Personal Description:
My name is James I thought about teaching when I was at secondary school, I`m now 35 years old. Tutoring for me is a second profession. I attended the Christchurch Secondary School in Ashford and have attained a my DTLLS - Diploma in Teaching in 2014 at Christchurch University. I teach as part of my day job, teaching law and legislation to the new Officers.

My passion for teaching in my day job has now excited me to the point where I would like to support others in maximizing their potential.

I have been teaching as part of my current role for 6 years, initially with a city and guilds qualification in assessing. I then wanted to further my professional development by completing a teaching diploma at University which I achieved in 2014. I am responsible for teaching new recruits in my day job. This has involved classroom based teaching, scenario assessing and assessing individuals in the workplace against a set of National Occupational Standards (NOS`s) set and awarded by City of Guilds.

I have tutored adults aged 18 - 65 at work and also young persons aged 12-16. I have children myself with the youngest now 8 years of age whom i regular tutor in Maths and English.

My aim is to make the subject fun and engaging. Without having this engagement, learning simply doesn`t happen. The student has to be the number one priority. Being able to talk to the student about common interests as well as the subject matter will allow them to have that moment of escapism before being brought back to the subject at hand. My sessions, although structured to the syllabus being taught are always adaptable and so therefore the style of my teaching will always adapt to allow the student to get the very best from the session.

My style of teaching is relaxed yet purposeful ensuring a quality service.

Personal Description:
I am a BSc Geography graduate currently studying for an MA in Education Practice at De Montfort University. I am due to start my PGCE Teacher Training in September at the University of Leicester. Currently, I work full time as a Teaching Assistant at a special educational needs school in Leicester. In the past I have worked as a personal mentor for young adults. I have a genuine passion for the acquisition of new knowledge and the delivery of my understanding to others.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently a full time Teaching Assistant at a special educational needs school in Leicester. This role affords me the opportunity to teach a mixture of subjects to both groups of children and individuals in one to one sessions. Prior to this, I worked as a Sports Development Officer for Team Ltd, instructing large groups of children in a range of physical education activities. In addition, I have also been employed as a personal mentor and tutor to young adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to personally get to know the student in order to understand their unique engagement style. By doing this, I can mould the current curriculum around them, their learning style and personal needs. The curriculum for the age bracket will be followed with explicit detail, with regular assessment checks and personal target indicators. Whilst the learning environment is very relaxed, I strive to challenge every student and maximise their academic capabilities through a spectrum of mediums.

Personal Description:
I am a final year Medical Student currently studying in London with a good academic record in a wide variety of subjects.
I am a dedicated and reliable person who will work with the student to identify their weaknesses and make a plan with them on how best to strengthen these weak areas.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught many people in the past - ranging from young children to university students. I have given teaching sessions on an individual basis as well as lectures in front of many people.
As part of my course I have studied communication skills and explaining various different concepts to people of a variety of abilities in an easy to understand way. From the sessions I have lead I have got a lot of positive feedback with regards to my teaching style in the past.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a very hands-on and involved teaching style. In order for teaching to be effective it must be engaging and interesting. In order to help this, I will deliver tuition on a student focussed basis and give the student the opportunity to explain to me how best they learn so that the most can benefit can be had from each session.
I will set out learning outcomes for each session and have a structure where after outlining the topic, I will briefly explain the topic to the student and then get them to demonstrate their new knowledge / skill by attempting practice exam questions. This way, the student can see the tangible improvements they have been making and these can be tracked so that by the time the exams come around the student is confident in their abilities.

Personal Description:
Hey, I'm Vhinoth, currently a third year medical student at Edinburgh university. I'm 20 years old, and from London, where I took GCSEs and A-levels. I have a good academic record, with A*'s in 3 A-Levels and 11 A*'s at GCSE, with a strong background in maths and science.

I took these in England, so I would need a bit of prior notice to brush up on the syllabus here in Scotland, but I am very confident I can help you or your child with their subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I was involved in helping younger students struggling with their subjects whilst at school for a number of years, and helped many achieve their true potential at both GCSE and A-level. I have always had great feedback, and try to engage with my tutees as much as possible.

Tutoring Approach:

My main aim will be trying to help you or your child understand the concepts fully, then going through practice/past exam papers to help them test their knowledge and refine their exam technique.

I will try to to provide a friendly atmosphere, and encourage my tutees to ask questions and to work through problems methodically. I am always happy to be contacted at short notice and to provide feedback on completed work set by me, or by someone else. I enjoy the teaching and I'll be trying to be as helpful as possible. Please contact me if interested!

Personal Description:
Hello there!
I'm a qualified teacher with over 10 years experience in the primary sector.
I live with my partner and our 2 children in a converted church in Wrexham, a project we undertook ourselves and completed last year.
With that in mind I consider myself to be a very practical person able to do most DIY jobs - something that I am well known for within my work place and amongst friends. If it breaks- call Hayley!
I have a positive outlook on life and this is reflected in my teaching.
I'm also a very patient and understanding person and I hope that these qualities make me a good parent, friend and teacher.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 10 years experience in the primary sector working mostly with key stage 2 children.
I currently work full time as a year 3 teacher and so offer my children learning experiences in all primary curriculum subjects.
I am responsible for the science curriculum within my school and It is my job to ensure continuity and progression across the board in this subject.
I have worked with children from all different backgrounds and with varied abilities.
I can effectively educate children with varying needs including behavioural and emotional difficulties, SEN children , EAL children and MAT children.
Within my current class of 28 children I have 10 EAL children inc 3 non speakers , 3 SEN and 3 MAT. These children come from all walks of life and I have been effectively educating children like this for over 10 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a positive approach to life and to tutoring. I am well aware that some children will be reluctant to receive additional help and some children will absolutely relish it! The approach your child receives will depend entirely on their reaction to me tutoring them. Everyone is different and once the relationship between myself- the tutor and your child- the student is established then we can have a productive learning experience each session.
I am able to provide a varied approach- hands on work, mental work, written work depending on what the student requires.
I am very familiar with the end of key stage requirements and will be able to cater lessons to ensure we achieve a realistic outcome and see genuine improvements within the subject area being taught.
I will aim to make the sessions enjoyable as that's the best way to learn and I will be more than happy to offer any additional guidance you as a parent may need in helping your child even more.

Personal Description:
Hello!

I am a friendly and approachable individual with a keen interest in education of all contexts!

I always enjoyed school - so much so I am studying to go back to one as a teacher!! However it hasn't been easy for me to get to where I am now so I understand the pressures people feel to perform well in education and I have also tried and tested a number of different methods to help others to succeed too. Pushing the boundaries of what's possible is always something I've tried to do both within education and wider life too so I hope that I can encourage others to do the same.

Aside from education, I enjoy being active and I play a sport called Korfball (you've probably never heard of it - google it, it's great!) and love the training, competition and social side of sport. I enjoy baking and spending time with friends and family too as I understand the importance of a work-play balance.

I hope that you've got a little flavour of what I'm about (think smiles, fun, support and determination) and the approach that I try to take when tutoring. I look forward to meeting some of you soon!

Teaching Experience:

I am currently studying BA Education which - although not a teaching qualification - enables me to think about education in lots of different ways. The course isn't just about schooling children, we learn about education of all ages and in multiple contexts so I am confident in applying theory to practice.

I have experience of teaching (short-term) in 2 very different primary schools and I have also taught geography in a secondary school. I have also worked in a tuition centre which offers maths and english tutoring for ages 5-14 and I have thoroughly enjoyed it all!

I am also a qualified sports coach and regularly go into primary schools to teach curriculum PE lessons in a range of different sports.

I am confident in planning lessons, delivering content and responding to an individuals needs as well as offering the emotional support that I know can be so beneficial in the lead up to exams or deadlines.

I obtained strong grades at GCSE level and studied Drama, Geography and English Lang/Lit to A-Level, finishing with good grades in those too enabling me to progress to university, however I strongly believe that my passion for education says more about my teaching experience than my own qualifications.

Tutoring Approach:

The main thing about my approach to tutoring which I believe makes a difference to tutees is the fact that I actually really enjoy doing it!! I think my bubbly, smiley nature helps to ensure a comfortable learning environment and through my love for learning i hope I can inspire others to keep going even when it gets a bit tough!

I will never pretend to know something which I'm not sure about but I will always endeavour to find out the answers to any questions you have and report back asap. I also know from experience that sometimes you need to go about a task in a slightly different way to help you understand - this is integral to my approach to tutoring and I try to respond to individual personality and strengths to get the most out of a session.

My experience of working in a tutoring centre has offered me the chance to begin fine-tuning my style to suit a small ratio or 1-to-1 tutoring. This is again, something which I really enjoy doing as it really offers me the chance to get to know people and help them to achieve what they want in a way that suits them.
