Personal Description:
I have a degree in Modern Languages and Literature with QTS and a post-degree Diploma in Teaching Foreign languages and a Masters in Sciences of Education - Educacional ICT.

Teaching Experience:

I have 14 years experience of teaching MFL at high school level and also to adults.
I teach Spanish, Portuguese, French and Latin. I taught at the University of California Santa Barbara as a Lecturer before I moved to UK, where my husband is from. I also worked for the Extremadura Government in Spain as a teacher and as a translator. I am now teaching in London, Spanish, French and Portuguese syllabuses and I have been involved in intensive exam preparation for students of GCSE and A levels. I also revise plans and advise PGCE students in Spanish and Portuguese.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to think of myself as a highly motivated and dedicated teacher of MFL that fosters high student self-expectation. This can be done by building commitment to quality education and developing strong bonds with students, parents and Faculty. For example, I believe in employing a variety of classroom techniques to raise achievement: I have recently developed a bank of resources for Spanish and French teaching to accommodate different learning styles. Aside from good teaching, assessing students' progress is important. For example target setting and monitoring is an important method in ensuring that students reach their potential. Finally, create motivating learning environments that capture the imagination of the students, using for example students performance charts with points to show each student's progress in each field and this can be used to monitor a student's acquisition of the target language.

Personal Description:
I am a young actor living in London. I also write and direct poetry, plays and films. As my father was a Diplomat I spent much of my early life abroad: in Cuba, Hungary and the United States.

After studying Maths, English and Russian at Eton College I spent a year studying acting in New York and cooking in an English restaurant, then studied English and Drama at Bristol and have just finished a BA in Acting at LAMDA. When I'm not writing or in the theatre I'm in the kitchen experimenting.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored several students over the past two years in London. I have helped with English A-Level papers for a boy who got an A grade and will start at Bristol this autumn. I also taught essay-writing and exam technique to a girl who will be starting medicine at Cambridge this autumn.

I also have a lot of experience with learning difficulties as I have helped my younger brother all his studying life through his asperger's and dyslexia.

Tutoring Approach:

My inspiration to work in the arts always came from the books, films, artists and languages I studied at school and at university so I have a great amount of passion and interest in what I teach.

I believe this is very much the most important lesson for any new student to learn: a personal enjoyment and motivation for the subject. Exams are everywhere these days but it is important to remember that an exam is only a method for determining how much you know and if you can find yourself genuinely excited and eager to discuss what you know you are half-way to passing that exam.

Personal Description:
I studied French and European studies in Birmingham before moving to Southampton. I currently work part time and study part time. I am interested in movies - especially Spanish and French, reading, photography as well as current affairs.

Teaching Experience:

During my university degree I spent a year living in Dunkirk, France where I taught adults both business and general English. At the same time I also tutored some children from a nearby school. I have worked with many Phd students through their English in their dissertations and currently tutor GCSE students.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring is really something that needs to be enjoyable. It's not like other jobs and why should it be? At the same time it is something I take seriously. I am more than willing to accomodate needs whether they be for an education, for an exam or for pleasure.

Personal Description:
I am a student of the University of Manchester studying for a PhD in Molecular Cancer Studies. I graduated from the University of Manchester with an MSc in Biotechnology in 2010 as the best student in the program. I picked up a job as a Consultant in a multi national industry just before I graduated. I worked there for 4 years in 3 different countries including Belgium, France and UK. I also graduated from the University of Buea Cameroon, the only Anglo-Saxon university,in July 2008 with a first class honours in Biochemistry and as the overall best student of the graduating batch. Before then had my GCE Ordinary in 10 papers in 2003 with 8As,1B,1C and my GCE Advanced level in 2005 with 4As and 1B.I am cool-headed ,calm and very nice to everyone that that comes my way with alot of respect for people.I feel relief and fulfilled putting smiles on people faces,so being a tutor is one of such opportunities.

Teaching Experience:

While doing my masters in Biotechnology, I was offeringtutorial to my class mates in Biochemical engineer and bioprocess engineering. While working in the industry one of my key task has been training people with new skills. This require a lot of patience and the ablity to modify teaching stratagy depending on the individual. I have have got that experience in addition with the passion. When I graduated from high school in 2005,I went back to my school regularly to teach students preparing for Mathematics,Physics ,Further maths, both at the Advanced level and Ordinary level.I did this as a voluntary service to help my school maintain its annual ranking in official exams ,of which in the previous year I was ranked 21st out of 18000
While in the university we formed a group whereby we organise extra classes to help students understand more and pass their exams with ease especially in some of those courses they consider nightmare such as BCH 301 Structural Biochemistry,Phy 211 and 311,general physics I and II,BIO401 Biometry,MAT 209 and 210,general maths and statistics
We actually devised some skillful methods of studying complex mathematics and equations as well as literature of science.

Tutoring Approach:

Generally my approach is flexible depending on the student, but the objective is to enable you to understand the relevant concepts in your course. Believe first in yourself ,before believing in the tutor taking into account that you got into that class because you have the potential of making it through to the the next. I strongly believe if you are committed to work hard you will make it no matter how hard the assignment or examination can be, otherwise there will be no point in the first place for the lecturer setting such an exam for everyone to fail.

Personal Description:
I am 56 years old, am a qualified teacher with 15 years experience. I am an easy-going reliable person who likes to make my students feel at ease at all times.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching seconday school students since qualifying in 1998. I have had two full-time posts, worked as a supply teacher as well as having private students. I have worked in Inner London, Outer London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire schools. I have also worked in France at a small private school during the '80's, predominantly teaching adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach French using the native tongue as much as possible. I use my own resources although I use the Internet for ideas whenever it's suitable.
For Maths I follow the syllabus laid down by whichever examining board the student is using and resources come from a wide variety of places usually from where I have recently been teaching. I gather information from colleagues who sometimes have great ideas. I like to be able to go through past papers with students marking work as we go through a course.

Personal Description:
I am a 21 year old, final year student at the University of Leeds where I study French and Spanish. As my educational record shows, I have excellent linguistic skills and I am very hardworking. I also pride myself on being friendly, patient and logical. I completed a term abroad in Granada where I took an intensive Spanish language course. There I acquired a level C1/2 according to the European framework of reference for languages, the highest possible, and received 9/10. I have just come back from my year abroad in Versailles where I was British Council Language Assistant. I am now fluent in both French and Spanish.

Teaching Experience:

I undertook a seven month teaching placement in Versailles, France (October 2013 - April 2014), where I taught English as a Foreign Language in two Secondary Schools. I have also given private lessons since 2012, as well as teaching private English lessons in France. One girl I taught increased her grade from a B to an A* in her French GCSE oral. Furthermore, I assisted language classes at my school between 2009 and 2011 for years 7 - 11.

Tutoring Approach:

My approaches are various. Having completed my A levels and GCSEs relatively recently, exam technique is still fresh in my mind and I hope to be able to teach students how exams work as (a bit unfortunately) this is very important these days. However I am a strong advocate of instilling the foundations of language, namely grammar and vocabulary, as this is how I learnt best and how you can understand a language. I also believe in immersing yourself as much as possible, for those who are serious about learning a language - by watching films, TV programmes, reading books and writing. Practice is vital if one is to achieve a high level and there can be no short cuts. I am also happy to work through topics in a textbooks and helping with exercises as, as mentioned earlier, practice really does make perfect.

Of course, lessons will be tailored to individual needs, and they can be as formal or informal as one likes: from straight grammar to half an hour of chatting for those who aren't learning a language for an exam, for example.

Personal Description:
I was born in France and lived there for 25 years before moving to England where I completed a postgraduate diploma and subsequently worked as a civil servant. This is also when I met my husband.

Following the birth of my children in 2001, 2003 and 2006, I left my demanding job and got involved at first in French groups for pre-school children before starting tutoring students for French GCSE.

As I am helping at my children's primary school, I hold a current CRB check.

Teaching Experience:

After teaching beginners French to young children for a few years, I now specialise in tutoring students at GCSE. I am fully conversant with the GCSE syllabus and it is currently, by choice, my sole area of tutoring.

Tutoring Approach:

I begin first by assessing the student's strengths and weaknesses. I have a flexible approach and will base the lessons/exercises around the current topics covered at school (i.e.: environment, education etc) using my own materials. I retain a strong focus on the different exams (oral, writing, listening) required throughout the year for French GCSE, and provide mock exam practice for my students.

Personal Description:
Hello there! My name is Tanyel and I am an undergraduate student at King's College London. I study BA French and Management and will be entering my second year in September.

I am available to tutor over the summer 2013 starting immediately, with a possibility of continuing this for when I am back at university.

Teaching Experience:

I have a wide range of tutoring experience. This originated from when I was in Sixth Form and developed a knack for explaining things to my classmates and friends. Since then, my enjoyment in tutoring has led me to be involved in two tutoring projects. This is both privately in my local area and also voluntarily, the latter being with my university and an organisation called Team Up ().

Tutoring Approach:

We would work through a main textbook (CGP range seems to work best) and I provide explanations in a clearer, more interactive manner to clarify understanding. I then set homework tasks based on what we have learnt. I can connect with all my students on a friendly level in this way, pausing to answer any questions, whilst ensuring progression and focus at all times. I have seen this approach work countless times in my experience. In some cases, students enjoy it so much they ask me to set them even more homework!

Personal Description:
I want everyone to enjoy the ability to communicate with each other in English to make friends, do business together and to feel confident wherever English is spoken.
I have been made welcome by so many people from many nationalities all round the world and love the excitement of communicating with people from all walks of life.
I enjoy teaching face to face and online and to tailoring conversation and lessons to the ability and objectives of the student or students.
I am married with a family and am comfortable teaching all ages although I prefer teaching adults and young adults (16 upwards). I teach general English and specialize in teaching business English.
I also proofread and edit dissertations and theses.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in Europe and Asia. For six years I lived in France teaching one to one and small groups. I returned to the United Kingdom in 2012 and live and teach in the Worthing and Brighton area.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning a language should be both fun and serious. If my students are preparing for examinations then a concentration on course work with homework will be important.
If students prefer to develop their social conversational ability then there may be less emphasis on grammar and more on the use of English in everyday social or business situations. Each potential student is asked to complete a simple questionaire to give me a picture of their ability level and what they want to achieve.
I teach one to one or small groups (normally no more than 8 students). Price reductions for two students or more
Most online teaching is on a one to one basis.

Personal Description:
I am a Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teacher at a mixed grammar school in North Kent. I am very passionate about French, Spanish and Italian, which I studied at university and thoroughly enjoy my job teaching these languages! Whilst at university, I spent an academic year living in the South-East of Spain, totally immersed in the language and culture of the amazing country, and giving me the opportunity to travel around it at weekends and during the holidays. I have since been to Cuba and Mexico, providing me with a greater insight, first-hand, into the Hispanic world. I have also enjoyed an academic year on the French speaking Caribbean island of Guadeloupe and spells in Chambery, France and Rome, Italy. In my free time I enjoy film, theatre, reading, running and socialising.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach in a grammar school where I also have a position as Specialism Leader, meaning that I organise language-orientated events and opportunities for our students and students from other schools in the borough as well as training for teachers. My training whilst studying to be a teacher was in a mixed state school and an all boys state school in Oxfordshire. I have been involved in teaching and assisting in the MFL classroom since my university years; teaching English in a secondary school in Spain and in a primary school in Guadeloupe. During my second year at university, I worked voluntarily as an MFL classroom assistant in a school in Surrey, for which I won a borough-wide award. I have also taught English to adults, and so, as you can see, have experience working with learners of all ages. In school, I teach my languages to all three Key Stages. My teaching at Key Stage 5 includes preparing students for the International Baccalaureate (IB)); I am therefore familiar with the present examination requirements in MFLs. As well as being an MFL teacher, I am TESOL qualified to teach English as a second/additional language and enjoyed working a number of summers and during other holidays at a private school in Berkshire for students from overseas.

Tutoring Approach:

Whether teaching a whole class or tutoring one-to-one, my approach to teaching and learning is enthusiastic, thorough and varied as well as professional. I really aim to support students in their learning and in how they go about learning as well as in their confidence in and enjoyment of the subject. I have worked with a number of students of different ages, in different languages and at different stages of their learning one-to-one and adapt my teaching styles, materials and exercises accordingly.

Personal Description:
Hello! My name is Lucy. I offer private tuition in French and Spanish on a 121 basis from your home or other suitable venues.
I have a First Class Honours degree (with Distinctions in French and Spanish languages) in Combined Modern Languages & Area Studies from the University of Portsmouth, which included a year spent living and working for NGOs in France and Spain.
I am currently undertaking a masters degree in the field.
I have an Enhanced DBS check dated December 2013 and can gladly provide references.

Teaching Experience:

Over the years I have gained solid experience in the learning and teaching environment.

More recently I was employed by a Further Education college to tutor French and Spanish A level students leading up to their written, listening and spoken language examinations.

Tutoring Approach:

I work on the basis that private tuition ought to be tailor made to suit the individual tutee, their level and objectives with regards to learning the language.
