Personal Description:
Experienced trilingual tutor with excellent proficiency (oral/ written) in French and German.

I am an experienced tutor in teaching French (up to GCSE and IGCSE, AS/A'Level/International Baccaleureate and beyond). I also teach German and Italian up to GCSE/IGCSE level.

I also teach conversation and practical French for adults looking to use the language for holidays/buying properties in France etc or just for general use

Have valid CRB disclosure

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for the last 7 years at all levels and have consistantly produced good results in my students at AS/A' Level/IB as well as GCSE/IGCSE.

I am fully conversant with all Exam Boards and GCSE/IGCSE/AS/A'LEVEL/IB ETC syllabuses

I have also taught French to adults at all levels for example who have just wanted to be able to converse comfortably while on holiday, also to those who want to learn from scratch as well as those who are already at a reasonable level and want to improve their oral and writing skills for business or pleasure

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is firstly to assess closely where the gaps in my pupil's knowledge are and then build on closing them through grammar and vocabulary. I therefore give my students the building blocks to construct their own sentences in writing and speech.

I will work with them sometimes using their own text books but also I provide my own material to make the lessons more interesting. I will use games/quizzes as well as focussing on past papers and oral exams to help them gain confidence in the language.

I engage well with all my pupils and they always enjoy their lessons with me so that their time with me does not feel like just another extension of school

My conversation lessons with adults are always fast-paced and fun and my pupils widen their vocabulary and gain confidence in the new language very quickly

Personal Description:
I am trilingual having been educated until the age of 15 in British boarding schools and then in Switzerland for 'A' Levels. I attended Nantes University for three years and obtained a degree in Linguistics. I enjoy teaching one a one-to-one basis. I have a wide variety of interests which means I am able to always find common ground with the student and therefore always establish a good relationship

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored on a one-to-one basis for many years for West Sussex Tutors based in Crawley with excellent results. I have also taught for many years in France where I lived for twelve years in both Lycees and Ecoles Superieures. Whilst living in Chile I also taught at La Serena University.

Tutoring Approach:

I am extremely patient and always try and use encouragement and praise to develop confidence. I am quite strict with expecting homework to be done as often this is the very reason why I am tutoring in the first place. Being well-spoken, I tend to command respect and admiration when the pupil realises that I am tri-lingual. I love tutoring and would like to extend the number of pupils I teach. It is also a way for me to practise and to continue improving myself in those areas I love and have a passion for

Personal Description:
Having completed my undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University, followed by a Masters degree in Politics with distinction, I am now a speechwriter and chief of staff to a member of the House of Lords who is the former CEO of a FTSE100 company. I am very keen to share my enthusiasm for my subject areas with students. Whilst at university I was involved in a wide variety of activities, including editing a magazine, conducting an orchestra and captaining a squash team, so I understand the pressures students face to balance academic studies with extra-curricular activities. By providing effective, valuable tutoring, I hope I can ease these pressures.

Teaching Experience:

With five years' experience of the Oxford tutorial system (including a period conducting admission interviews for undergraduates), and two years' experience writing high profile speeches and newspaper articles, I can provide challenging, engaging and friendly tutoring at a variety of levels, including to those preparing for applications to Oxford or Cambridge. I offer a particular focus on rigour and precision when it comes to students expressing themselves; in my experience, this can make all the difference when it comes to an academic or entrance exam. The broad nature of my degree means I can offer tutoring in Economics, Politics, Maths (including statistics), German and French, all of which I studied at A Level or university myself. As a post-graduate student of politics, I can also offer particular expertise here.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a real passion for my subject areas, and I believe that an enthusiastic tutor is the first step in enabling a student to achieve their full potential, whatever level they may be studying at. For exciting, dynamic tutoring from someone with extensive experience of one of the most admired teaching systems in the world, please get in touch!

Personal Description:
I am an Open University graduate having completed an BA(Hons) degree. I chose my own programme of study which consisted of French,English Language Studies with GCSE/Standard grade Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. After my degree, I undertook an A-level/Higher Grade Maths course and GCSE/Standard Grade level Latin course to keep my study skills fresh and updated whilst complimenting my degree.

Prior to this, I under went a City and Guilds in Delivering Learning which taught me the vital skills required to be able to plan and construct lessons. In conjunction to this, I have also achieved my Level 1 certificate in British Sign Language.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently hired by Borders College based in Galashiels where I teach adult evening classes in Mandarin Chinese and French, which I love. Seeing my students grow and learn is one of the main reasons why I entered the tutoring and teaching profession. In conjunction with my college role, I also privately teach British Sign Language and Latin

In addition, I have taught French to various ages ranging from Primary right through to Adult in various capacities.Furthermore, I have taught English as a Foreign Language which was a brilliant experience as it gave me a valuable insight into how people learn not only English but languages in general.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring comprises of friendliness and patience. Having studied at home for my degree, I understand the importance of a structured and warm learning environment. My motto has always been "There is no such thing as a stupid question". If you do not know the answer then the only way to find the answer out is to ask the question, whether it is for the first or tenth time. As I am so passionate about French and English along with reading and writing skills, I feel that lessons with me will be a positive, exciting and worthwhile experience.

I have always strongly believed that education is available to everyone, regardless of past experiences. The only thing that I feel matters when it comes to learning is a want to learn, if you have that then anything is possible.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a commitment to teaching. I have successfully completed a Mathematics PGCE in secondary teaching and work at an outstanding school.

I enjoy skiing, indo-boarding and keeping fit. I am friendly and I get on well a wide range of people. I like challenging myself and I enjoy helping people. I have a full UK driving licence and I have my own transport.

My most recent CRB check is from July 2013.

Teaching Experience:

My PGCE year showed me different ways to teach children and emphasised being flexible and adaptable to the individual needs to every child. I incorporate this into my teaching practice on a daily basis and have managed to get it down to an art for tuition too.

During my final year at university, I decided to take on the role of note taker/tutor to a visually impaired first year PPE student. This helped me to fully appreciate the art of communication because I had to learn new techniques to implement when typing up mathematical notation and complicated economic expressions. This aided my organisational and time keeping skills as I had to complete my final year studies simultaneously. I undertook this role so that I could enhance my listening and communication skills. But I finished this role having understood the intricacies of teaching Mathematics to someone who has difficulty due to a disability. I was a successful tutor and my work was valued highly but my greatest achievement within this role was ensuring that the student understood what I taught. Carrying out this enriching role meant I saw the student decipher the complex and challenging mathematics and this confirmed teaching as a career choice.

I decided to use the summer of 2010 fulfilling one of my dreams by working with vulnerable children from underprivileged backgrounds in one of the world's fastest developing nations: India. I taught Mathematics and English to Secondary School students using my Hindi language skills to communicate and ensure that the children understood everything that I was trying to convey. I fulfilled this voluntary role for a period of 3 months and it gave me a very deep insight into what a career in teaching would be like. I travelled 18km on a daily basis but I was happy to give up my time during the week and on the weekend in order to teach or invigilate exams. I was committed to sharing my knowledge and giving the best of myself. This experience showed me that it is important to keep thinking and learning new things in order to be a successful teacher. I created teaching plans before each lesson and took advice from the Head Master and my colleagues which meant that I was able to develop at a rapid pace. I recognise that I still have much to learn but I am ready for the next challenge which awaits me. This experience was heart rendering and left me feeling fulfilled in a way I have never felt before.

I have taught over 30 pupils over the last few years. This has ranged from several A level pupils, several GCSE pupils and a handful of primary school pupils. I have also taught university students in Economics. I have taught both male and female students from varying ages. Pupils tend to find that they gel with me quite well compared to previous tutors they've had.

My students notice a difference in their progress within a very short amount of time because I genuinely care about helping them to get the most out of their potential. One of my languages' students has seen a rapid increase in a matter of weeks in terms of her spoken and written work. All of my Economics' students have seen particularly quick progression in terms of analytical and evaluation skills.

I am a hard working and conscientious tutor - I take my work very seriously and I am committed to helping students perform exceptionally well. The feeling I get from seeing a student finally understand a concept is the greatest feeling in the world. However, I don't take myself too seriously and am very easy to get on with.

Overall - I can help with routine homework, assignments, exam preparation, more focused revision, improving memory and making subjects fun and relatable!

Tutoring Approach:

I plan things and I like to identify a student's weaknesses so that I can help them to kick the demons and enjoy a subject in a way they never have done before. I think making the base of any subject strong is essential and means that a student can develop quicker. I also know that it's important not to overload students with too much information so I make things manageable and progress tends to be very fast :)

What are you waiting for? Get in touch to find out more!

Personal Description:
I am a 21 year old, final year student at the University of Leeds where I study French and Spanish. As my educational record shows, I have excellent linguistic skills and I am very hardworking. I also pride myself on being friendly, patient and logical. I completed a term abroad in Granada where I took an intensive Spanish language course. There I acquired a level C1/2 according to the European framework of reference for languages, the highest possible, and received 9/10. I have just come back from my year abroad in Versailles where I was British Council Language Assistant. I am now fluent in both French and Spanish.

Teaching Experience:

I undertook a seven month teaching placement in Versailles, France (October 2013 - April 2014), where I taught English as a Foreign Language in two Secondary Schools. I have also given private lessons since 2012, as well as teaching private English lessons in France. One girl I taught increased her grade from a B to an A* in her French GCSE oral. Furthermore, I assisted language classes at my school between 2009 and 2011 for years 7 - 11.

Tutoring Approach:

My approaches are various. Having completed my A levels and GCSEs relatively recently, exam technique is still fresh in my mind and I hope to be able to teach students how exams work as (a bit unfortunately) this is very important these days. However I am a strong advocate of instilling the foundations of language, namely grammar and vocabulary, as this is how I learnt best and how you can understand a language. I also believe in immersing yourself as much as possible, for those who are serious about learning a language - by watching films, TV programmes, reading books and writing. Practice is vital if one is to achieve a high level and there can be no short cuts. I am also happy to work through topics in a textbooks and helping with exercises as, as mentioned earlier, practice really does make perfect.

Of course, lessons will be tailored to individual needs, and they can be as formal or informal as one likes: from straight grammar to half an hour of chatting for those who aren't learning a language for an exam, for example.

Personal Description:
Hello!

My name is Ismael. I am from Spain and I speak and teach both Spanish and French.

Teaching is not just a pastime for me. I have studied languages and teaching for several years. I did a BA in Modern Foreign Languages at the University of Granada, Spain, and am now doing a secondary school PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) at the University of Portsmouth.

I have countless hours of teaching experience in the UK alone. I have worked in Portsmouth City Boys School (Portsmouth), Barnfield West Academy (Luton) and as a Spanish and French tutor for more than 20 different students.

Teaching Experience:

I teach Spanish and French to children and adults; all ages are welcome. Whether you are a beginner or advanced I am happy to work with you to improve your skills. In the past I have been teaching primary school students, GCSE students, A level students, university students, young professionals, mature professionals, pensioners and students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia.

Since I have worked in several schools, I am really used to the GCSE and A-level exams, their marking and the necessary preparation for them.

Tutoring Approach:

If you would like some references to help you take the big step of learning or improving your Spanish or French, I am more than happy to provide these, as I have had many UK based students already.

I try to keep my rate as affordable as possible and you will have a qualified tutor to help you with your learning from day 1. Feel free to contact me.

My charge is normally 15/h for one to one tutoring, and I also do group sessions on request.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Ismael

Personal Description:
I am a student at the University of Bristol and would like to be a french tutor this summer (2013). I am currently on my year abroad in the South of France and on my return in June would like to help young students improve their french. Having studied french for 8 years i am very enthusiastic about the language, but also the culture. I am completely flexible this summer and have a car so would be able to do home tutoring. As i spend most of my time speaking french at the moment it would be a great opportunity to further this hobby in England whilst helping somebody else and hopefully giving them the enthusiasm that i have for the language.

Teaching Experience:

Although i have not got any formal qualifications as a teacher, when studying my A Levels I helped with the younger classes and often help my younger brother with his language revision. I have acquired voluntary work with children for two years as a leader at my local Brownies group, therefore engaging in and leading activities. I would feel comfortable teaching children or adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I am keen to take an approach to tutoring that suits the individual client. I would offer structured lessons with exercises and small tests for those who are preparing for exams. However I would also be happy to tutor somebody who needs to practice their spoken french. In the first lesson we can identify what suits the student best and together choose our method of teaching and learning.

Personal Description:
I am a chemistry and French tutor with more than 7 years experience. I have recently moved to Newmarket and I am therefore looking for new students to start with me from September 2014.

I take great pride in the work I do and I am dedicated to provide the best tuition and learning experience that I can. I am patient and always very enthusiastic.

On a more personal level, I am married and a mother of two and I love to run and to fund raise for charity, to play the flute, to go fishing and to cook.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Magalie

Teaching Experience:

I am a highly qualified Tutor (Ph.D in chemistry) with more than 7 years of tutoring experience. More recently, I have gained experience working as a chemistry lecturer (A level and an access to science course) at Chichester College in 2013.
I have been CRB checked in December 2012.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning should be a joy and I believe that I can share my passion of science and of my native language with all my students. I am very friendly and flexible and I can adapt to my students' need and pace of learning. I believe students should feel at ease in order to learn best.

As well as teaching and supporting students throughout their learning, I can offer advice on how to learn and to plan revisions successfully. These learning and time management skills are not taught at school, but are essential to reduce stressful revision times and are excellent habits to master before going to university or entering the working life.

Personal Description:
My name is Annie and I am a nineteen year old student. I study French and Italian at University College London and am entering my second year. I have just received a high 2:1 in my end of year exams.

Teaching Experience:

As a language student I've done a lot of volunteering, mainly helping out in the younger years' language lessons at school doing oral and grammar work, but sometimes helping out my parents' friends' children in their preparation for GCSEs.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm very enthusiastic about foreign languages and have knowledge of French, Italian and some German. I strongly believe that the world is only as big as the languages you speak! I'm very flexible with when and where lessons take place, though weekday evenings and weekends work best for me. I live in a maisonette in Camden with a light and spacious dining area where it will be possible to have lessons.
I'm prepared to tutor from complete beginner with no previous knowledge up to GCSE level. If you are a student at primary or secondary school, I'm happy to do lessons that help with your school work or target any specific weaknesses you feel you have. Alternatively, I'm also happy to decide what we cover myself. I'll teach oral/conversational classes, vocabulary and grammar.

Personal Description:
I have recently graduated with Merit in MSc Sport Management from Coventry University. I am French and I offer to my students a different approach to the French Language as well as learning of the Francophone cultures. I am serious, motivated and I have experience in tutoring. I am available everyday and weekends.

Teaching Experience:

Last year, I worked during 5 months as a French Language assistant at Bangor University. My role was to improve oral and aural skills of the students, while broadening their understanding of French and Francophone cultures. I have led the different classes by myself and reported regularly my work to the Head of the French section. I had to be proactive and creative, as I have to prepare each class with different exercises as well as being responsible and meeting deadlines following the programme of the students.

Tutoring Approach:

My purpose as a tutor is to allow to my students to be confident when they speak French. It is not easy to learn a new language or even if you have some basics of the language sometimes you are afraid to talk because you think you will make mistakes. It is normal to make mistakes. I have learnt English as a second language so I know exactly how someone who learns a new language can feel as well as what is the best ways to learn it. The most important thing is that the learning has to be entertaining. It is the easiest way to keep the vocabulary in mind and allow to the person to be confident. Videos, movies, one to one conversation lessons about all kind of subjects are as important as translations and grammar exercises.

Personal Description:
I am a french student doing a MSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol until next September. During the whole summer (from June to September), I will be working on my Thesis and will be able to organize my time in order to give some french tutorials.

Teaching Experience:

Back in France, I had already a teaching experience as a Mathematics/Physics teacher for Secondary school level students (13-18 years old). I have good teaching skills as I usually adapt the tutorials according to the learning objectives of the tutees. For example, some will only need speaking skills in order to be able to travel in France, then, I will focus my teaching on typical daily conversations useful to get along actual speaking situations. Some will need more academic basics. Then, I will try to construct the tutorials with more complete tools (both speaking and writing comprehension, and expression).

Tutoring Approach:

I usually start by understanding the learning objectives of the tutees in order to adapt the way to teach. If the tutees is still a student, I will have a look at what he/she does at school and will provide some additional work or/and help him/her to complete some homework and help him to understand more deeply the french course.
