Personal Description:
I am French and fluent in English. I have an MA in English History. I spent a year studying at the University of Birmingham during my Master as an Erasmus Student. I did my english studies at the Universit de Toulouse le Mirail.
I enjoy working with children and young people. In my freetime: I read a lot, I cook a lot too and I enjoy visiting places in the UK.

Teaching Experience:

From September 2004 to June 2005 I worked as a French assistant at Kingsbury school and Castle Vale, both in Birmingham. I helped the teacher in the classroom and worked alongside the sudents or I took a group of students in an another classroom to work with them on specific subjects (i.e: preparation for the GCSE French oral exam)
I have been working as a private tutor in France from September 2005 to June 2009. I taught French and English to different students (primary school, secondary school and A-Levels)

Tutoring Approach:

I always establish a confidence between me and my students. It is very important for me that they trust me and feel free to talk to me. I ask them what their assets are and what they think their weaknesses are in the subject I teach. I want to know their level through their eyes first before I see for myself.
I always work on their mistakes and their errors with them to understand and get over them. I focus on the positive side of mistakes, they are a way to achieve better, I use them as a tool.
I give homework when my students have time for it and I encourage them every time I see them. I aim to build self-confidence in my students because it is generally what they lack and what they really need.

I will be in Argentina for the month of February and will not be able to tutor in person.

I am from Newcastle Upon Tyne but moved to Birmingham to study European Studies and French at Aston University. After graduating I decided to stay in Birmingham. I am interested in movies - especially Spanish and French, reading, photography as well as current affairs.

Tutoring is really something that needs to be enjoyable. It's not like other jobs and why should it be? At the same time it is something I take seriously. I am more than willing to accomodate needs whether they be for an education, for an exam or for pleasure.

Personal Description:
I am currently a final year student at Aston University reading Translation Studies and Modern Languages. During the course of last year I took part in the Erasmus program organised by the European Union which offered me the opportunity to live and experience all aspects of French and Spanish life. At present, I am fluent in three languages and I am working on improving my German and Portuguese.

Teaching Experience:

While in France, I worked as an English-language assistant for the French oil company Total. My job at the Language Centre consisted of helping students (i.e. Total employees willing to learn a new language) improve their oral skills through hours of conversation on a weekly basis. The levels were varied and so were the group ages and professions.
I also gave private lessons to friends and helped them prepare for their exams in college.

Tutoring Approach:

Being very passionate about foreign languages, I feel that I can make the learning process of a language more enjoyable thanks to the skills I have acquired throughout the years. I have been exposed to various language teaching techniques and I believe that the best approach is to consider individual needs and problematic areas and work on them. I prefer to adopt a friendly approach with my students and I strongly believe that the key to success in learning a language is continuous oral practice based on fundamental grammar elements.

Personal Description:
Hi,

I am a half-French half-British student, currently studying in England for my degree in International Relations. I have lived in France my whole life until I left for university at 17, and speak fluent French and English (bilingual).

I also speak Spanish as i have been studying this language for 10 years and have lived in Madrid last year for one year.

I love to work with people on a one-to-one basis, children and adults alike, and have enjoyed tutoring in the past.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring children since I was 16 in English when i lived in France.
I tutored a GCSE level English student for 6 months in 2008 to pass his French GCSE, which he did with flying colours!
When i was living in Spain, i worked with a tutoring and translation agency and had 6 students from the ages of 6 to 40, which i taught English or French on a weekly basis.

Tutoring Approach:

I very much enjoy teaching as i consider a one-to-one approach more efficient in the learning process for languages.
I am highly flexible in my teaching methods and like to work with the student to find out what they need to work on.
For small children i like to teach with games, songs, and manual activities which will help them to practice their understanding and speaking.
For older children, I usually work with them to understand their needs, and focus on an objective (such as get an A at GCSEs). I use school exercises as well as my own methods.
With adults, i like to listen to the person's needs and discuss with them a method of learning that we agree on together.
I teach anything from conversation, spelling, understanding or grammar.

I am flexible to come to the student's house, although my university times should be taken into consideration. Thanks!

Personal Description:
My name is Rebecca and I have just graduated in July of this year with a Joint Honours French and Spanish degree in which I achieved First Class Honours. Through my language studies, I have acquired many experiences of living, studying and working abroad, including studying in Spain for 1 year and France for 10 weeks. I am a very trustworthy and reliable person and due to my experience with languages and with people from different cultures I am very sociable, adaptable and flexible around a wide array of people.

Teaching Experience:

I have a substantial amount of teaching experience including spending one summer in Gran Canaria working as an Au Pair and teaching three young children English, followed by two consecutive summers in Spain working as an Au Pair for the same family and teaching their young child English as well. I also gained an extensive amount of teaching experience whilst studying in France by attending regular meetings with French people and offering to help to improve upon their English skills. Whilst studying in Spain, I gave private lessons to University students of all ages and to three young children and their father. I have built up a good rapport with all of the people who I have taught and remain in contact with the majority of them.

Tutoring Approach:

I have worked with a number of people of different ages and therefore understand that each level of a language requires a different method of teaching.
