Personal Description:
I am a very keen and enthusiastic university student and love to help others learn. I specialize with children and young adults. I am a good role model as I am bubbly, show confidence and balance my studying (Business Degree at Northumbria University) with my sports (rock climbing and snowboarding), work and social life.

I have a range of experience in childcare and tuition and find different ways for my pupils to understand the materials they are learning. I find ways in which they can relate to the information which helps them retain the information for longer.
I have had several years of experience with private tutoring producing great results such as a B at A level Business Studies (please ask if you would like a reference). I will be finishing my final year of studies mid May 2013 and will be available to teach from this time onward.

Teaching Experience:

All throughout my first and second year at university I was working at Explore Learning, a Maths and English tuition center designed to help children with their national curriculum between the ages of 5 and 14. This has given me valuable experience on many different teaching techniques as well as keeping up to date with the new learning strategies that children are using in their day to day learning at school.
My one on one tutoring experience ranges from A Level Business Students to Primary Maths and English including other topics such as Current affairs.
On a sporting level, I gained my Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors qualification in 2009 and have continued to teach snowboarding over in Italy with Interski in my university holidays.

Quote from a reference: 'Rabia will definitely miss your cheery and happy persona. She has had other tutors but with nowhere near the enthusiasm and effort that you put in! She looks forward to you coming and has a real connection with you.'

Tutoring Approach:

I have many different approaches to learning, dependant on the age of the pupil. I like to use targets and rewards to keep motivation levels high and learning is fun by relating the subject to my tutee's everyday life. I ensure there are several reviews and assessments to enhance progression and keep on track.

Personal Description:
I am 24 years old and graduated in 2011 from the University of Oxford (Brasenose College), with a degree in Experimental Psychology. I'm very interested in science and this enthusiasm comes across when encouraging others to find it interesting, too. Making science fun and easy to understand is something I very much enjoy.

Besides this I have four A-grade A-levels in European languages, and spent a year at an international company where I spoke fluent French, Dutch and German on a daily basis. I have always enjoyed learning languages, and believe that learning a language need not necessarily be difficult if approached in the right way.

I am due to begin training as a solicitor next year.

Teaching Experience:

I have varied teaching experience. I spent three months in the summer of 2014 as a youth development professional at a summer camp in Vermont, in the USA. I led activities and 5-day trips into the wilderness, working with 8-16 year olds and being responsible for every aspect of their well-being.

I have been a tutor for two years now and really enjoy supporting learning in different ways depending on what exactly is required. I've taught Psychology, English, Biology, Chemistry and French and look forward to teaching German, too.

Tutoring Approach:

I realise that everyone is an individual, and to me this is the key point about teaching - which I why I vary my approach, explaining things in different ways and encouraging questions until the level of understanding required is reached.

I am very keen to ensure that my tutees develop their understanding, which is why I try to push their existing knowledge further by asking questions, rather than telling them the answer.

I work hard and prepare well for everything I do, and I'd welcome any further discussion on specific details.

Personal Description:
I am an extremely approachable and down-to-earth person and pride myself on my ability to get on with any individual; in fact I really enjoy working with people from all walks of life! I think that having an affable temperament and approach to tutoring is the most effective way of getting the best results because, as studies confirm, students learn better when they are happy and are enjoying their learning experience. I therefore find it best for students to learn in their home environment where they are most comfortable and I am then able to provide the most effective and enjoyable tutoring experience.

Teaching Experience:

From a very young age I found that I was always good at explaining things to people, and therefore my tutoring started with simply teaching friends at school who were struggling with various subjects, and it has continued from there. In fact I was even heralded a better teacher than my secondary school Maths teacher by several classmates, who apparently preferred my approach to teaching! I went on to tutor a friend to achieve his Business Studies AVCE, then tutored several children of family friends on various subjects at GCSE and key stage 3 levels (years 7-9) during my gap year before university.

Having taken a break to study for my degree I then returned to the profession in 2009. Since then I have achieved excellent results, including an A-Level Business Studies student who went from an E to an A grade, several A*s in GCSE Maths, as well as boosting the confidence and results in young students aged 8-14 who have been struggling with their maths.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that it is vital to be a good listener as a tutor and to adapt your tutoring style and approach to the student. If a more visual approach to learning produces better results for a student than it is important to apply such an approach, and equally, for example, I adopt a more conversational style of tutoring for students that prefer more verbal learning techniques. Ultimately, I am a well-rounded tutor who has worked successfully with individuals from various backgrounds and of varying abilities so whatever you are aiming to achieve I will endeavour to help you achieve it!

I have vast experience working with children with dyslexia, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder and do not see these as barriers to achieving positive results. I believe every child is different and therefore tailor my approach to the individual in order to achieve the best possible results.

Personal Description:
Hello there,
I am a native English speaker, and I have recently graduated with a First Class Honours in English from a top Russell Group University, which boasts an Internationally recognised English faculty, which means I had the opportunity to benefit from the teachings of influential scholars from the literary world. Students will benefit from my experiences, and I aim to offer an innovative and exciting take on English Literature and Language to ensure that they both achieve and exceed their potential. I am in the process of establishing my own tutoring business, as well as paving out a career path as a freelance writer.

Teaching Experience:

I am a professional English tutor, and have worked with students of all abilities from Secondary School right up until University for over 4 years now. I have spent 4 years tutoring privately in 1-1 and group sessions, as well as online. I have spent 2 years working in a supplementary school, where I worked with large groups of students from 11-19 years old of mixed abilities. I planned my lessons judiciously, set and marked homework, and prepared my GCSE classes for their exams. I have moved students from C grades, to A/B and even A* grades. My experience means that I am familiar with the current GCSE/A Level curriculum. I have also taught students English from all over the globe, not just academically, but also in terms of spoken English. I have much experience proof-reading and editing top University level essays written by students who attend the country's top Academic Institutions. In addition to this, I have accumulated over 250 hours of Skype and Online Tutoring using interactive educational software such as VLE/Blackboard, Moodle and WizIQ. Using these software, I have accumulated over 150 hours of teaching English as a Foreign Language to young learners and adults across the globe, including India, the UAE and Japan, with particular interest in business and interview skills for those wishing to work overseas in predominantly English speaking countries, conversational practices as well as for academic purposes.

I am also a freelance editor and proofreader, and have worked with students from top academic universities to assist them with their essays and dissertations. I have worked with students across a range of disciplines, including Psychology, Sociology, Early Learning Years and Childcare, Criminology and History.

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor, regardless of whether I am teaching at GCSE, A-Level or University level, or English as a foreign language, I aim to encourage my students to identify with the subjects, to understand the content and what is expected of them by their examiners, but, most importantly, to enjoy them. It would be unwise for me to say that I have a standard tutoring approach for all my students. Instead, I work closely with my tutees, and use my extensive experience to gauge what grades they are working at, pinpointing the areas we need to work on, and then tailoring my lessons to suit their academic and personal educational needs. I can guarantee that regardless of their abilities and potentials, all my students unquestionably thrive and make excellent progress throughout our sessions together.

Personal Description:
Private Tuition has evolved into my passion and will increasingly become my sole occupation.

Because of the success rate and personal enjoyment that I obtain from private tuition, I have been able to reduce my full time post of English teaching, and I now enjoy working part time. Because of this, I am very flexible with working hours and can usually fit around the days and times that you require.

I am trust worthy, honest and passionate about my job. I know that I possess a skill in teaching English to an incredibly high standard, and I enjoy making a difference to young people's lives.

I am a family man, with a wonderful son and another on the way! Because of the pivotal part that my family play in my life, it has enhanced my understanding of just what an important job it is that I do for other families, when they look to ensure that their children have the best start to life. I therefore take this role incredibly seriously, and do everything to ensure that success is gained.

Teaching Experience:

Perhaps the most important factor that any parent should be interested in is not the experience of the teacher, but how good they are now, and how good they will be for their child. The most prominent factor that will indicate this is the rating that a teacher is given. Currently, I consistently achieve a classification of 'outstanding', which is the most sought after rating that a teacher can aim for.

I have held the post of Head of English at my current school, and I have led a team of exceptional English teachers. Having held other management positions in other schools as well, with management focus on both key Stage 3 and 4, I have built up a wealth of experience and knowledge that I can now put to good use within the sphere of personal tuition.

I am also an experienced examiner, having marked for a leading exam body for five years now. This has helped me enormously to build up a very clear understanding of what exam boards require from students.

Last year's results saw a continuation of my fine record of exam success, where my class achieved 100% A-C in their GCSE examinations. My current year 11 class are predicted to have 5 A*'s, 10 A grades and fifteen B grades. This will be the finest set of English class results in the school's history.

I have built up tremendously successful working relationship with my clients, and parents who I currently work for, and worked for, have happily created testimonials for me which I would be able to provide for your perusal upon request.

Tutoring Approach:

My largest concern for my students is to make sure that their confidence is built up by becoming pro-active and independent learners. All too often tutors 'spoon-feed' their students, leading them to a false sense of security in their skills, which therefore leads to poor performance in examinations.

Any fruitful approach to tutoring must ensure that the assessment objectives are catered for in tutoring. Every exam board and every exam has certain assessment objectives that must be met if students are to be successful. As engaging and as fun as I try to make my sessions, I am well aware of the crucial need to fundamentally ensure that these assessment objectives are covered.

Personal Description:
I am a 27 year old PhD student at Newcastle University, having completed my MA in Ancient History (Classics Department) at Royal Holloway University of London (2009), and my BA in the same subject.

In my younger years, I lived in Taiwan, my father having worked there, before returning to the UK in 2000. We lived in a British and American expatriate community and I went to school at the Taipei American School.

I am passionate about learning and education, especially in the areas of Classics, History and English (primarily as a second language); it is a joy to be able to impart the same pleasure of these subjects on others and see a students' progression and development.

Teaching Experience:

Currently tutoring GSCE Latin for an examination in June 2015, and have tutored numerous students in all aspects of English - including preparation for QTS assessments, IELTS, business language and academic writing.

I returned from China in August 2012 where I gained a TEFL qualification and taught English as a Foreign Language for a year. During the first half of the year, I taught at a public primary school in Zhejiang province, and during the second, at Aston English School, a training school for students ranging from Kindergarten to Adult.

Prior to my time in China, I tutored a mature student in Latin using the Cambridge Latin course and helped out in the Learning Department of Norwich Castle in Norfolk; I have been consequently CRB checked. During my MA, I coached a Chinese student on her English conversation and grammar. This included weekly sessions exploring cultural and academic topics, frequently involving her dissertation and other areas in her studies. We also attended an event showcasing Chinese culture where we compared and discussed various aspects.

I also helped review, edit and advise numerous undergraduates individually on their dissertations and essays in the Classics Department, and an A level student on his History coursework. April 2009, I also took work experience at Queen Anne's School in Caversham, covering the subjects Classical Civilisation, Latin, Ancient Greek, History and English.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a flexible and fun approach towards teaching, centering on the students needs and engaging interest and learning through games and activities.

I can help with vocabulary, analysis, essay-writing, language learning, research skills and examination techniques and am happy to assist with any requirements or problems students may have.

Personal Description:
I started training as a teacher shortly after leaving college. I had to abandon the idea in my last year due to my fathers untimely death. Teaching has always been the center of my strengths from an early age, I had watched my father teach in primary and felt confident that one day I would do the same thing. Although teaching is a thankless task and many we teach forget us very quickly. I do feel it provides us with a self satisfaction that we have made a difference. My academic qualification started at East College following through to Greenwich University and ended with the Brentwood Diocese receiving a CCRS in Religious studies.

Teaching Experience:

My Post graduation in Certificate of education was accredited by the Greenwich University. My Humanities Degree was through the Open University and continuing accreditation from the Trinity College where I received a CertTESOL qualification in English. In addition I attended the Brentwood Diocese to take up 8 modules in order to receive CCRS in Religious studies allowing me to teach in Catholic Schools.
I have taught in both Primary and Secondary school and colleges. I have my own Tutoring academy in Essex that services over thirty students a week. Although I have already secured a foot hold in the field of teaching I believe that my skills and dedication to the field is strengthened by my full vocation and love I have in education and learning.

Tutoring Approach:

Students at all level are unique. Every child no matter what level they are work towards their best ability. We as teachers should always adhere to the child's needs not what we can offer but what they can give us. Learning is a to way participation. Understanding and perseverance is only part of teaching we must empathies ourselves to the child and find the weakness and strengthen it. I have said I have my own academy but I have done it not through advertising but referrals from past students. After almost 4 years its still the same as it as always was.

Personal Description:
My name is Rose and I am a 26 year old tutor based in South London specialising in English at all levels, essay writing and exam technique. I can also help with Science from 11+, and Drama and Theatre Studies. I have experience of tutoring students with dyslexia, attention deficit disorders, and other special educational needs.

I grew up in Devon and attended Colyton Grammar School, where I obtained A grades in English Literature, Theatre Studies and Biology at A-Level. In 2004 I then went on to study for a BA in English and Drama at the University of Manchester, for which I achieved a double first. Whilst at university, I was involved with the Greater Manchester Army Cadet Force, teaching children aged 13-18.

At university I also started writing and performing comedy as part of a sketch group, and have continued to perform with them for the last four years, taking shows to the Edinburgh Festival every summer. In 2010, our show featured a group of young children aged 7-12, who I taught to perform through workshops and rehearsals. Alongside my career as a performer, I have worked as a teaching assistant in a high school in inner city Manchester, where I focused on one-to-one work with students with special educational needs.

Teaching Experience:

2008-2009 - TEACHING ASSISTANT, The Albion High School, Salford

I worked as a teaching assistant with students ranging from 11-16 in this very challenging inner city school, mainly in the science department. My duties included one-to-one support for students with a range of special educational and behavioural needs and general classroom support for teachers with difficult groups of students. My background in English allowed me to specialise in tutoring students with dyslexia and other special needs to complete coursework, as well as helping them to understand and engage with science as a subject.

2005-2007 - UNDER OFFICER/ INSTRUCTOR, Greater Manchester Army Cadet Force

I worked at the GMACF summer camps supervising and teaching basic military skills to groups of cadets aged 13-18, some of whom had behavioural difficulties. I designed lesson plans and teaching methods for this unique educational opportunity that would preserve discipline whilst maintaining an effective and stimulating learning environment.

2010 - WORKSHOP LEADER, various locations

As part of a show I created in 2010, I taught several different groups of children aged 7-12 the skills needed to perform as part of a professional theatre show. As well as teaching them stagecraft and acting technique, I also encouraged confidence and enjoyment as part of the learning experience

Tutoring Approach:

I am enthusiastic and friendly in my approach, and aim to promote in my students the same enjoyment in their subjects that I experienced whilst studying.

Alongside a focus on building confidence in exam technique and coursework skills, I also place a strong emphasis on encouraging genuine enthusiasm and curiousity around the subjects I teach in order to leave students with not only the skills they need to achieve but also the desire to learn.

Personal Description:
I am nineteen years of age and am currently studying English Language and Literature at Oxford University. Alongside this, I enjoy a growing musical career as an operatic soprano, as well as undertaking freelance writing work. Now living between my home in Somerset and my college at Oxford, I enjoy sports such as horse riding, hill walking and kayaking, and love spending time with my four pre-teen nephews and nieces, of whom I have fond memories of helping learn to read.

Teaching Experience:

- Head of my college's Literary Society, which involved leading sessions and being solely responsible for the education of my peer group on a variety of topics
- I teach singing in my spare time
- As there were many foreign students in my previous college, I have often (and still do) help proofread their work for readability and help correct them to more natural-sounding English
- I traveled to Sierra Leone in 2010 to teach voice in the country's one music academy

Tutoring Approach:

When I was at school, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by a friendship group who loved learning, loved school and were ambitious in their university dreams; however, many young people are not so lucky to have such an inspiring peer group. As a tutor, I make it my first priority to be enthusiastic, fun and dynamic about my subjects, as learning can never take place in a dull environment where the pupil feels little or no interest.

Personal Description:
I enjoy all aspects of English Literature, the research process and critical analysis. My most recent teaching has concentrated on sixteenth century texts, including Shakespeare's 'King Lear', 'Hamlet', 'Romeo and Juliet' and Webster's 'The White Devil.' I have also recently taught Oscar Wilde's novel 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' and Scott Fitzgerald's 'The Great Gatsby.'

Currently, I work as a note-taker for university undergraduates who have sight or hearing impairment or a specific learning disability. I enjoy this work immensely as I go along to support students in lectures and seminars in a diverse range of subjects including Philosophy, Psychology, Law and Sports Development which I find very interesting and rewarding.

Teaching Experience:

At a Sixth Form College, I have taught GCSE English (AQA Board); English Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2 (OCR Board); a Government unit on Public Services Level 3 (Edexcel) and Public Service Skills Level 2 (Edexcel).
I have also been a Personal Tutor for 16-19 age group at a Sixth Form College.

Tutoring Approach:

I set objectives, plan targets and evaluate progress and achievement. Reflection plays a key part in the teaching and learning experience. I am flexible and can adapt the learning programme to suit the learners' needs. I will also bring a great deal of enthusiasm to make the learning experience interesting and enjoyable.

Last year, tutees achieved excellent results; this was a result of the high standards adopted and expected of the student matched with lots of hard work.

Personal Description:
I graduated from the University of Warwick with a BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Physics. I am currently undertaking an Intercollegiate Masters course in Theoretical Physics at Queen Mary University of London and University College London. I am a keen footballer and runner with an outgoing personality.

Teaching Experience:

I have guided the positive development of over 10 GCSE/A level students from C to A as well as their personal statements for university, for over 5 years. I managed to improve their fundamental skills. This experience, along with my engaging personality has allowed me to polish my interpersonal skills and become a very effective communicator. I completed a teaching course at the University of Warwick, which gave me a first hand experience of teaching in a school; I independently organised and taught 3 lessons, which received positive feedback.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a flair for making demanding concepts more accessible to others. This is due to my awareness of the nuances of topics and my firm command of the subject matter. I allow students to understand novel concepts by translating them into ideas that are their own. Students can then independently deduce the theories leading to a firm comprehension. I focus hugely on improving their ability to identify the underlying logical structure of a theory as it allows the students to test and confirm the validity of the concepts.

Personal Description:
I am a recent History graduate of the University of Oxford (Somerville College) and I'm an ideal tutor for those seeking to brush up their GCSE or A Level French, History, Politics or English skills.

I have excellent A'level grades, and am able to cater to all abilities. My historical specialisms include 19th and 20th Century British and European social/political/cultural history and 19th and 20th Century U.S History.
I am likewise very comfortable with modern South Asian and Mexican history, and the English Civil War is a source of interest for me.

As a recent graduate, I'm in touch with current educational concerns and the demands of the examination system. I achieved full marks in both English Literature and Government & Politics A Levels and maintain a keen interest in literature and current politics.
I'm also ideal for anyone preparing for university interviews, or English/History GCSE and A Level coursework.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored extensively over the past two year.
I have also previously worked for six weeks in Central America teaching children from age 4-16 a mixture of English, French and Sport.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very open attitude to tutoring. I'm keen to engage with, and explore the mind of the tutee and help them explore the limits of their thinking. That said, good organisation and constant practice go a long way in furthing a student's development. I am friendly and approachable, and have a good sense of humour.

I can tutor in libraries or the home of the tutee, whichever is most convenient.

Tuition takes place in my own home.

Teaching Experience:

I currently have a varied client base of 10 tutees aged 7-45. Several of these been with me since September 2011; I will happily provide references to support this. I first began tutoring in August 2010 & I have taught English Literature & Language both at Primary and Secondary school level since then. Additionally, I have worked for Let Me Play LTD where I taught English as a foreign language in their summer holiday camp held in License Victualler's School, Ascot. I worked for Let Me Play in August 2011 & then Aug-Sept this year after they asked if I could work for them once more. I have taught a wide range of children with varying needs. I worked at Cove School as a Learning Support Assistant, where I worked closely with children with learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Moreover, I spent a year at Robert May's School working as an Unqualified Teacher. Throughout this role I worked with a large number of students, not just providing support for those who were less able or under confident but also helping GCSE student turn A s into A*s. I am currently working 4 days a week as a Teaching Assistant at Garth Hill College.

Tutoring Approach:

My main aim as a tutor is to improve students' English skills however; my secondary aim is to ensure that they enjoy the process. There are always going to be bits which are less exciting, nevertheless I strive for a smile every lesson.
On first meeting a new tutee I ask them a few questions about their experience of English as a subject, discussing specifically what they enjoy and what they don't, as this can often provide me with valuable insight as to how to deliver my lessons in a way they will respond to. I ask them to take part in a series of activities aimed to test their reading and writing capabilities so that I can evaluate these for myself. But, I also find it very useful to take a look at some of the work that they have been doing in school, where this is possible. After this session, which should take 30-45 minutes, I discuss my findings with the parents and ask them in which key areas they would like to see their son or daughter improve. This is only a generic template of a first meeting as each one can be quite different depending on the student and the family.
As the tuition continues I will work directly with the student, working specifically on the areas which need most improvement. I also aim to tie in from time to time with what they are studying at school as this helps to cement the learning that takes place there. Furthermore, recapping on ideas that they have been recently studying can help to improve a student's confidence as they are ready equipped with some of the answers. From this point onwards contact with parents tends to take one of these 3 forms 1) A summary chat immediately after each session (around 5-10 minutes). 2) A longer catch up on a monthly basis, again immediately after a session. 3) Email / telephone contact. Again these are not strict rules just templates, generally parents have as much or as little involvement as they wish and conversations about tuition happen whenever they are required.

Personal Description:
I am an approachable, experienced tutor. I enjoy working with students of all ages and stages, helping them set challenging learning goals and reach their potential.

I studied Drama at the University of Bristol and was awarded First Class Honours in 2012. I am currently completing a Masters at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Birkbeck College. Whilst, as a trainee Theatre Director, I specialise in Drama and Literature, I enjoy tutoring a range of subjects at GCSE and A-Level. Seeing my students gain confidence and new skills is a real delight.

Teaching Experience:

I have provided home tutoring from GCSE to degree level in a range of subjects and helped students lift their grades by 3 or 4 levels. I have also taught within a classroom setting at Frances King School of English and Campolara Summer Camp in Burgos, Spain.

Tutoring Approach:

I prepare dynamic and engaging lessons that enable my students to build confidence and enjoyment of the subject/s. I believe one-to-one tuition is the ideal learning platform for students to gain the extra skills and support they need.

As an experienced director, actor and writer, I can offer guidance with acting auditions and entry to drama school. When it comes to History, I help my students to learn about the people and places of other times in a dynamic way and offer tools to communicate facts and dates effectively. With my support, students of English can improve their creative writing, acquire new vocabulary, gain a better understanding of grammar and deepen their analytical skills when dealing with a range of texts.

In addition to these subjects, I am also able to ad hoc support for those who want a proof-reader for essays, exam tips or general study skills advice.
