Personal Description:
I am a University of Hertfordshire graduate in BA (Hons) Mass Communications: Journalism, Media, Film studies and English Language Communication. I am very strongly expecting a 2:1 grade as I have achieved high 2:1 grades all through out University along with a few 1st level grades.

I have a strong passion for reading and writing. My passion for reading landed me a job at Waterstones book shop where I currently have been working part time for over 7 months. My passion for writing has inspired me to enter journalism. I previously ran my own football blog before writing for more established websites. I currently write for one of the UK's best football blogs Socerlens where they have a huge following, with over 49,000 likes on Facebook. I am also undertaking a four month online journalism internship with threeandin football website. I am required to write a daily football related article in a constant of features, opinion pieces, transfer rumours and match previews/analysis.

I have a sound knowledge of journalism and excellent writing and blogging skills. English Literature was easily my most favourite lesson at school and I got an A in GCSE for this subject. I am a big fan of Chinese and Japanese literature, along with Sport and historical fiction.

I also have a huge passion for film, which is why I studied it at University. I have specialist knowledge in European Cinema and World Cinema, Mainland Chinese, Hong Kong and Japanese films being my favourite. I have achieved a few 1st grades in film essays and projects, along with many high 2:1 grades.

I am in a visa process to head to Shanghai in September for a three month internship for Shanghai newspaper the Shanghai Daily.

I speak Mandarin to an intermediate standard and I am always striving to improve. Two years ago I achieved an A* in Mandarin GCSE and since then I have improved a lot through independent and tutor based learning.

Teaching Experience:

I taught English when I was 19 for six months in China, Foshan. Here I taught in a school with young children aged 3-7 where I would give daily lessons to different classes. It was an amazing experience, watching the children learn and improve was extremely rewarding. I walked in at the start with children who could speak little English, after the six months I left them with a decent grasp of the language. As they were young they learnt so quickly and the results were very touching.

I have a written reference letter off my Chinese principle during my time in China that can be seen on request. My performance at the school caused them to try and convince me to stay with an improved contract but I had to return to England to begin my studies at University.

I also did private lessons to adults with social classes and also one to one tutoring.

I have also attended CV and Cover Letter workshops at University with career advisor specialists. I have also had one to one meetings with advisors.

I can therefore help anyone with their CV's and Cover Letters as I have a good knowledge on what to do. I can help tailoring CV's towards specific jobs and also Cover letters. I can help in how to assess job descriptions and how to carry the necessary requirements into your CV and CL's. I can also assist you with preparing for interviews.

Tutoring Approach:

I will happily teach English at all levels, to native speakers and as a foreign language.

If you need help with English literature GCSE or A levels, Film/Journalism A levels or University level I can help you with your assignments and to improve your grades.
I can proof read, help you to edit and structure, help your writing flow, enhance your research skills and references which is vital in higher education.

University has also given me good presentation and stand up speaking skills so if you need any help in this area I can be of service.

I have an approach where I tailor my tutoring to the individuals needs. I am very good at analysing a individuals personality and working out what best suits them, you can say because of this that I have a very individualistic approach. If there is a particular method or way of teaching that you would like me to use, I am more than happy to do so.

Personal Description:
I am a very keen and enthusiastic university student and love to help others learn. I specialize with children and young adults. I am a good role model as I am bubbly, show confidence and balance my studying (Business Degree at Northumbria University) with my sports (rock climbing and snowboarding), work and social life.

I have a range of experience in childcare and tuition and find different ways for my pupils to understand the materials they are learning. I find ways in which they can relate to the information which helps them retain the information for longer.
I have had several years of experience with private tutoring producing great results such as a B at A level Business Studies (please ask if you would like a reference). I will be finishing my final year of studies mid May 2013 and will be available to teach from this time onward.

Teaching Experience:

All throughout my first and second year at university I was working at Explore Learning, a Maths and English tuition center designed to help children with their national curriculum between the ages of 5 and 14. This has given me valuable experience on many different teaching techniques as well as keeping up to date with the new learning strategies that children are using in their day to day learning at school.
My one on one tutoring experience ranges from A Level Business Students to Primary Maths and English including other topics such as Current affairs.
On a sporting level, I gained my Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors qualification in 2009 and have continued to teach snowboarding over in Italy with Interski in my university holidays.

Quote from a reference: 'Rabia will definitely miss your cheery and happy persona. She has had other tutors but with nowhere near the enthusiasm and effort that you put in! She looks forward to you coming and has a real connection with you.'

Tutoring Approach:

I have many different approaches to learning, dependant on the age of the pupil. I like to use targets and rewards to keep motivation levels high and learning is fun by relating the subject to my tutee's everyday life. I ensure there are several reviews and assessments to enhance progression and keep on track.

I approach each student and the sessions with an open-mind - taking into consideration what I must learn in order to be of real help. With my many areas of interest outside education, I pride myself in an ability to engage my students at their level and within their current areas of interest. Alongside the specific subjects I tutor in, I can incorporate motivational coaching on exam and essay skills. This will ensure maximum value for your investment of time, effort and money

For English or Maths I the first lesson will consist of a complimentary educational assessment (usually 30 minutes) to help identify key areas for improvement . Personal Description:
Currently Finishing a PhD in theoretical biophysics. Before that, completed an MSci in Theoretical physics from the University of Nottingham.

Teaching Experience:

As part of my degree I completed a module in communication skills, which included presenting physical topics to audiences with various levels of education (GCSE, A-Level, 1st year undergraduate). However, many hours in the University common room, both teaching and being taught by peers, has helped me greatly in my ability to verbalise concepts and ensure I am being understood. In addition I have 3 years of tutoring experience at the undergraduate level.

Tutoring Approach:

It depends very much on the pupil. Well motivated students often require structure. Students lacking motivation often require a constant sense of achievement and the maintenance of momentum. In terms of actual teaching style I prefer to open a dialogue and have discussion, rather than dictate questions or have pupils recall facts. Again, however, it depends on the purpose of the tutorial sessions and the abilities and motivation of the pupil.

Tutoring Approach:

Due to high demand I now only offer group sessions for the 11+. The 11+ is an extremely challenging examination and few children are able to pass without additional help. I push all of my children to achieve the best possible result. For many children the 11+ is not appropriate and this is discussed with parents at the free assessment. It is usually apparent after an hour assessment of the child, whether or not they are capable of passing the exam.
I am now taking bookings for January 2015. Places are available for year 4 and 5 children. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to reserve a place for your son or daughter or if you wish to discuss things further.

Personal Description:
I have just completed my degree at the University of Birmingham (BSc Environmental Science) achieving a 2.1 classification. I have a place on a Masters course (MSc Environmental Health) due to commence October 2014.

I am well organised, efficient and take a friendly approach to tutoring - as well as being hard-working and easy to get along with, I am reliable and prefer my lessons to be enjoyable as well as informative. My passion for cooking, combined with another passion of mine, travel, has enabled me to spend considerable time in numerous countries giving me first hand knowledge of different languages/cultures and business environments. So far I have been fortunate to visit; New Zealand, Australia, France, Spain, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Canary Islands, Norway, Sweden and intend to visit many more.

Teaching Experience:

At the moment I am tutoring adult students on a one-to-one basis at the University of Birmingham. Last academic year, I tutored 5 and the new year has just began. These students require extra help with their English language skills (they are all foreign nationals).

I also completed a 4 week internship in a New Zealand grammar school this summer (Aug/Sep 2012) allowing me to gain classroom experience.

I also tutor/help out my younger brother who is 18 and just finished his A levels.

Tutoring Approach:

I take an informal approach but also ensure that sessions are structured well and tailored for each individual students' needs so every tutee is able to get the most from the session.

I am perfectly happy to re-arrange or cancel classes if necessary, I just ask to be notified at least 24 hours prior to the intended lesson.

Personal Description:
I moved from Henley-on-Thames to Bampton in October 2011. Last academic year, I worked three days a week in an independent girls' school in Exeter, providing one-to-one support for a girl in Year 9 and also taught English Literature to Year 7 & Year 13 classes.

I have a passion for the written word and its performance in poetry and drama.

I am a mother with three grown-up children and very interested in how young people view and contribute to the world in which they live.

I hold a First Class Honours BA degree in English and Classics from the University of Reading. In September 2013, I am currently a part time MA in Postcolonial Studies at SOAS, London University. I believe that learning should be a lifelong process and I hope to use expertise acquired from my MA course to the benefit of my students.

I can offer lessons in my home in Bampton or in a student's home within a 25 mile radius, including Exeter, Taunton, Tiverton and Wellington. Tuition is also available online via email and Skype. This has proved to be a highly successful way of teaching, Travelling to a student's home may incur a small mileage charge but this would be subject to various factors and established prior to the first lesson.

Teaching Experience:

In addition to working in a school in Exeter (outlined above), I have been a highly successful English tutor for many years, originally based in the South-East. Working both through a tuition company, Howland Tutors in Marlow, and directly with clients in the Marlow and Henley-on-Thames areas, I have tutored students in English Language & Literature from KS1 to 'A' level. I also work with undergraduates in various disciplines, providing guidance in the structure of their essays, particularly dissertations, and academic writing.

I also have experience in helping adults with their business English and have written marketing copy for the commercial sector.

UPDATE AUGUST 2012 - Another amazing year of exam results. A recent contact through UK Tutors, living in Instow, had 10 lessons with me, one in person the remainder via Skype, and achieved A* grade in both English Language and Literature at GCSE. Similar success stories throughout GCSE,'A' level and undergraduate students in this academic year.

Tutoring Approach:

When I tutor a student, I search for a 'tailor-made' way to help increase their self-esteem and confidence. This enhances the learning they already receive in the classroom. The study of texts offers student and tutor alike not only an opportunity to develop communication one with another but also insight into the life experiences of others, both in past generations and the wider world today.

I have achieved an 100% success rate over the last seven years in helping students to achieve higher than their predicted grades at both GCSE and 'A' level and have many excellent references available. My students have come from the public, private and state school sectors and varying levels of academic ability.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced teacher with qualified teachers status, who has taught in England and abroad. I have been helping children build up the gaps in their learning level since 1994. I am able to discover various learning styles to help children improve their learning. I am currently a supply teacher teaching in Hertfordshire and in Luton. Due to my vast Experience in teaching in various schools as a supply teacher I have an in depth knowledge of the national curriculum for maths and English for key stage 1 and 2 , from years reception to year 6 and have always received positive feedback from students parents. I am a mother of two teenage boys.

Teaching Experience:

I have a BA.Ed from abroad and soon after graduation I taught English and literature for two years in a secondary school(year 8 and 9). In 2005 after I gained my PGCE primary and have been teaching in primary schools since then. , covering years 1 to 6 in various schools in london . I now teach in stevenage and surrounding towns. I have been a supply teacher and Tutor for over 7 years .

Tutoring Approach:

when teaching children on a one to one basis, I usually start by giving them a general assessment on their reading and problem solving skills. After this I am able to plan for each child on an individual basis on how to help them improve their levels and fill gaps in their learning. Sometimes children come to my home but most times I tend to teach children in their own homes. I normally teach the children for an hour and then give them homework for further skill practice. I also help children and parents draw up a reading and learning timetable which is very easy to follow, this has proven to be very effective in the past, in helping children become independent learners. My approach is to be friendly but professional and help children relax in order to enjoy learning.

Personal Description:
I studied English Literature at Edinburgh University, graduating with a First Class Masters in 1999, before going on to train as an actor at the prestigious London Academy of Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in 2001. Since graduating, I have worked extensively as an actor in theatre, television and radio and since 2007 I have worked very closely with acclaimed theatre company The Factory as an associate producer and director as well as an actor. I have a wide-ranging interest in the arts (from contemporary music through to cinema and the visual arts) as well as an active interest in politics and current affairs. I have worked as a free-lance tutor since 2005 and love not only the obvious flexibility it affords but, far more importantly, the mental, creative and social stimulation it provides both me and, hopefully, those I teach.

Teaching Experience:

In 2005 I registered with a private agency and taught English Literature as a freelance tutor at GCSE level for them that year.
I have wide and extensive experience teaching and creating drama with young people: I have worked on schools and youth projects with Shakespeare's Globe, the National Student Drama Festival and the Carney Academy of Performing Arts as well providing private tuition for drama school entrance and audition technique.
I occasionally work for the University of Westminster as a free-lance actor, working closely with director and academic Helen Eastman.

Tutoring Approach:

I passionately believe that education needs to be grounded in passing on, developing and deepening the love of a subject and that, as such, learning shouldn't be results led. I also believe that people are different and that an approach to tutoring and education should reflect that.

As such I aim to keep engagement and enjoyment at the centre of the process. I encourage pupils to engage with their subject through lateral and creative thinking in the belief that good results follow when a student can enter into a dialogue with the work they are being asked to do and not the other way round.

Personal Description:
I have always been a life long learner, and am always looking for ways to train and gain a new skill, and thrive off passing it on to others.

I loved school, excelled in my GCSE's and A Levels, as well as extra curricular activities and the study of the Voice and Instruments.

I went on to develop my love for Music and Spanish at University, where I gained a high 2:1 at The University of Leeds. I became fluent in Spanish, and also taught the language to a local school throughout my three years in Leeds.

After University I travelled extensively through the Americas, interspersing my journey with volunteer work in Peru and Guatemala by teaching English to children aged 5-16.

I am a passionate musician, I sing, play the Clarinet and Piano, and regularly go to gigs to scout out new talent.

I am training to be a Yoga teacher, I love a good stretch and a run around the park. Exercise and maintaining my health are very important to me and my well-being.

I love to read in both Spanish and English, listen to Spanish radio, and incorporate as much Spanish into my vocabulary as possible!

I am well travelled, I love to learn about the world; a good nature programme is my favourite thing to watch on TV!

Teaching Experience:

My first teaching experience was from 2003- 2005. I taught Music theory to pupils aged 6- 10. Classes were one to one as well as up to 5 pupils. (200 hours)
I also ran an after school Music club providing additional support and mentoring to pupils sitting Music and Instrumental exams. (50 hours)
In addition to this I ran vocal coaching support for members of the Chamber Choir and School Choir (20 hours)
I ran workshop for prospective pupils of Music A level. (50 hours)

At University from 2006- 2008 I taught Spanish to local pupils of primary schools aged 6- 11 (100 hours)
I was responsible for devising and delivering lesson plans, and prepared a short curriculum designed to teach pupils basic introductory phrases in Spanish.

From 2008-2009 I taught English as a Foreign Language to pupils aged 7-12 in Mayab school Guatemala, as well as this l taught two 7 year olds privately for five hours a week. (50 hours.)
I volunteered in Peru, teaching English to victims of an earthquake. These were mixed classes of 5- 15 year olds. I was responsible for devising lesson plans, as well as running all after school curricular activities such as Sports and Choir.

From 2011 to present I have taught Spanish aged 4+, 6+, 7+, 11 + and GCSE level, A level, and to adults of all abilities from beginners to conversational. I have taught pupils at the following Schools: St Paul's, Godolphin, Latymer, The London Oratory, Malborough, Wellington, St. Marylebone C.E, Tiffin, Haberdashers' Askes', City of London, and Kings.
I devise lesson plans to suit individual's needs, focusing on grammar and vocabulary. (150 hours)
I tailor make fun exercises to grow individual's confidence and passion for the language. Last year I planned a trip to Spain with an exchange in UK, and devised and coordinated the curriculum. (40 hours)
Mentoring, past papers, exam support. (100 hours)

I tutor Primary School and Prep School English and Maths. I have experience with pupils at Garden House, Eaton House the Vale, Eaton House Belgravia, St Benedict's, St Gregory's, Bute House, Colet Court, Westminster, Sussex House, Latymer Prep, and The London Oratory School Junior House. I plan and execute trips to the British, Science and History museums to help tutees access the curriculum and make learning relevant and fun. (20 hours)

Teaching Assistant experience across key stage one and two at St John's and St Gregory's Primary School (2012-2013.) Familiar with National curriculum across all subjects and most importantly the latest teaching methods used (particularly in Maths, and trained in use of the phonic system.)

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate and have an infectious enthusiasm and drive for teaching. I seek to understand each pupil's needs and to empower them to learn and realise their true potential. Whilst doing this I allow them the space to to think for themselves. I am young, charismatic, full of energy, and relate very well with both kids and adults. As the oldest of 4 children (by quite a way), I have always had parental responsibilities at home, and I think that these have given me the skills with which to relate with and educate children.

''I am thrilled with the results that Chrissy has achieved, not least because my daughter's confidence and capabilities have improved enormously, in the short time that Chrissy's been teaching her Spanish. Chrissy is very upbeat and positive, with a thorough, considered approach to her work and she continually strives to make lessons as interactive and engaging as possible. It's not everyone that can enthuse a 14YO girl but in this case, Chrissy has triumphed! I highly recommend her as a tutor.'' Janet Inglis (St Marylebone CE)

''Chrissy is a delight, she is passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated. She was quick to spot the gaps in Peter's knowledge and fill them. Thank you. '' Claire Pidduck (Latymer)

''I highly recommend Chrissy; she is an exciting and motivated tutor, the kids thought she was brilliant!'' Lucy Riley (St Pauls)

Personal Description:
I am currently studying English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. I love reading, writing and reading some more. I also enjoy sketching while listening to music. I am a frank person, have an straightforward approach to everything in life and like people to behave the same way with me (which always does not happen). I love to have a laugh, but don't worry, I can be serious when needed( for example, when teaching your children English and History).

Teaching Experience:

While I have never tutored for money, I have an extensive tutoring experience. I volunteered to teach illiterate students English as a part of a volunteering program from my high school in India and have been a part of that program for the past two years. I also used to tutor my two siblings in History, Geography and English.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel that children learn best in a stress free environment. If they feel it is fun and challenging, they will be more willing to learn than if they feel it to be an obligation. English is an easy subject and children enjoy learning it, once they realize the joys that English has to offer. History can be challenging due to the vast amounts one has to learn by heart but steady habit of writing down answers to questions helps more than reading the material ten times. Other than that, History is a vastly interesting subject which helps us understand the workings of the present society and of course, knowledge about our ancestors. Geography is relatively straightforward subject. A lot of practice and a dedicated perusal of it should be enough to get good scores. While it can be relatively dry, it can be made interesting with pictures and videos.I focus on exam technique, past papers as well as text work (English Lit.)

Qualifications:
I scored 91 out of 100 in English in the Indian equivalent to A-levels of U.K and got accepted to The University Of Edinburgh based on this mark.
In History and Geography I got 85 out of 100 in the same exam.

Personal Description:
I have an MA in Medieval History from King's College London and a BA(Hons) from Queen Mary University of London. I am currently employed as a Humanities teacher an an independent college in Croydon. I have a passion for history, and love to read and write. I am also very sporty, and am interested in football, swimming and eventing.

Teaching Experience:

I currently work as a Humanities teacher - specialising in History - at an SEBD college in Croydon. I currently teach years 7-13 in small groups and one-on-one sessions. Outside of this I have tutored groups of pupils at AS and A level in History and Literacy Skills. For those studying at university level, I have tutoring experience with those who are studying Medieval topics, and have provided essay writing technique sessions and proof-reading. I specialise in SEN although have experience beyond this.

I am also a sports coach, and have experience in teaching children and adults in netball and horse riding. This has given me a different perspective when it comes to working with both groups of different ages, and groups of differing abilities. I believe that everyone has the ability to succeed, all that is needed is the correct guidance.

Tutoring Approach:

When tutoring History I believe that having access to primary texts and a comprehension of background issues of the topic are paramount to achieving an understanding of history. Primary texts allow students an insight into the ways contemporaries thought/behaved, which then allows a greater insight into the background issues surrounding the topic.

There is no right or wrong answer in history, and I think believe this is an element which needs to be stressed, particularly to students studying history at school. Many students feel pressurised to relate just the 'facts' of history, and are not encouraged to read further into issues and interpret this independently. I think that history needs to be made more accessible to students, particularly to those below GCSE level. When tutoring, I try to make it fun and interesting, and encourage independent thinking. History is not just the 'boring facts of our past' but a bloody, engaging, thought-provoking formation of our present.

When tutoring English Literature, I try to help students understand the text as a whole. This is vital as without this knowledge, the intricacies cannot be fully comprehended or portrayed effectively within an essay. Once again, I try to make tutoring this subject interactive and engaging, relating it to issues relevant to today, and encouraging students to think independently.
