Personal Description:
My name is Teresa and I am a trainee Educational Psychologist currently studying for a Doctorate in Child, Community and Educational Psychology. I hold a BSc degree in Clinical Psychology and a PGCE teaching qualification specialising in Primary Languages. I also hold MSc Credits in Science. I have experience teaching in mainstream and special educational needs schools with primary school aged children and have worked in Secondary Education settings. I hold a current CRB check.

I also have a lot of experience with special educational needs. I currently work/study as an Educational Psychologist so have regular contact with children, adolescents and young adults.

Tutoring Approach:

My first step will be to find out exactly what a tutee wants to get from the tutoring and how they best learn. Then we can collaboratively make a timetable and plan that suits both of us. My tutoring style is difficult to describe as it will vary from individual to individual. I always try to make use of resources which support the learning style and will incorporate the child's interests into my lesson plans. I feel that it is important to be flexible and will ask the tutee if there is anything they want me to do differently.

Personal Description:
I am 33 years old and currently live in London. I am originally from Derbyshire in the north of England. Before becoming a teacher, I worked with children aged between 2 and 12 in a variety of environments. I enjoy sport and run and coach the school Year 6 football team, I also enjoy playing tennis and swimming. I have worked with children of various ages for the last six years and have been a qualified teacher for 5 years.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher and currently preparing a Year 6 class for their 11+ exams in West London. I have 5 years experience in teaching during which time I have taught Year 4 (8/9 year olds), Year 5 and Year 6 (10/11 year olds, final year at primary school). Last year I underwent training for a one-to-one teaching programme, which involved working with individual children, each for an hour a week. As a full time primary school teacher, I teach all National Curriculum subjects including Maths, English and Science, I also have experience teaching the 11+ syllabus. I was also the ICT coordinator at a previous school and excel in the subject knowledge and teaching of this subject.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that patience, flexibility and a desire for a child to reach their potential are key to being a successful tutor. Children need to be extended and pushed to ensure that they are not just doing the minimum to succeed, but the best that they can possibly do. I believe that my approach to tutoring is a balance of patience and persistence which is very successful in getting results. I am flexible in the way that I tutor, meaning that I can use a variety of teaching styles to suit the individual child's needs. No two children are the same and therefore each child learns in a different way. I am sensitive to the individuals needs and am able to find the best way for them to reach their potential.

I AM ALSO ABLE TO TUTOR FOR THE 11+.

The aim and purpose of a tutor is to widen the scope and horizons of student, to develop the need to think and to encourage the student to do better in life.

I do motivate my students to study for their own good. Sometimes by expecting them to study a lot more than they usually do.Students appreciate me more after they have improved their grades. I have a different approach for every student as every student is unique and must be looked at differently.

This is my perception about tutor. I mail video links for students to watch them and revise the studies after most tuition lessons.

Please note if the contract of lessons is for a very short period or if many lessons are not booked, I will also charge the fee I have to pay to the site.

If you feel you want to try first kindly contact me for only 2 sessions and explain the possibility of total sessions.

Personal Description:
I am 23 years old and I am in my final year at The University of Manchester where I am studying French and Italian. I have spent 6 months in Bologna in Italy, working in a private language school for those wished to learn either Italian or English. I worked as a copywriter for the school website, working in French, Italian and English. I also worked as a conversation tutor to those who wanted to learn English. I am now waiting on my results for a recognised qualification, a C1 CILS exam. In the same year, I lived in Paris for four months where I worked at ELLE, the well known women's fashion magazine, where I used solely French. I am very down to earth and my biggest passion is football, I enjoy a good movie and love a good comedy. If you feel more comfortable meeting in a neutral place, a coffee place or in the town centre that is fine by me. It is flexible. A clean criminal record and can boast a detention-less education!

Teaching Experience:

I now have teaching experience and I have shadowed those who have done this for a job. I have worked voluntarily in a school teaching beginner's Italian. Having already worked as a conversation tutor in a private school, I feel I would excel in giving private lessons, given the chance.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel every student works at their own pace, however it would not take me long to work out an approach which would realise the full potential of the tutee. I am patient and I can sympathise that learning a new language or topic can be frustrating.

Personal Description:
My name is Helen and I have recently graduated from Edinburgh University with a first class degree in Geophysics and Meteorology (my first two years were maths and physics based). I am currently working as a science communicator for the Edinburgh International Science Festival whilst completing a TEFL course to teach English as a foreign language.

In my spare time I enjoy performing in a ceilidh band and I also enjoy playing underwater hockey - I have played for Scotland in 3 world tournaments.

Teaching Experience:

I have always had a passion for teaching and because of this I have gained teaching experience in a variety of fields, with a varied age of pupils.

Academically I have tutored Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from standard grade to advanced higher level for the last 5 years. My musical teaching experience includes teaching Flute and Piano for 2 years and running a youth music group aimed at 5-10 year olds.

My current position as a science communicator with the Edinburgh International Science Festival requires me to communicate scientific and mathematical concepts at a basic level on a daily basis.

I have coached underwater hockey to 11-19 year olds for the past 8 years and I have been a swimming teacher for last 2 years coaching children from ages 4-9, including children with behavioral disabilities. My experience teaching in all these areas and age ranges has helped me understand the best way to make my teaching enjoyable and effective at all levels.

Tutoring Approach:

It can be very difficult to learn a subject you don't enjoy, so I ensure every lesson is tailored to each student to make the lessons as engaging and enjoyable as possible. After assessing the learning style of each individual, I set realistic targets to aim for. These targets are also useful for monitoring progress through the lessons. I plan all of my lessons in advance to ensure no lesson time is wasted.

I am also happy to give group lessons to up to 4 students at a time for a reduced fee. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me through UK Tutors.

Personal Description:
At 19, I went to India instead of University and returned seven years later to join a four year degree in Drama and Education at The Central School of Speech and Drama. Life then filled with relationships, children and the usual complications of everyday life. There was a lull after twenty years when I returned to education at 40, realising there was no need to say, 'I wish I'd studied English'.
This late second flowering informed the transformation of my life since English and Drama studies enabled me to engage with complex literary, philosophical and socio-psychological theory to develop new ways of seeing, reading, interpreting and engaging with education. Continuing education enables me to make new sense of my rich, varied, exciting, dynamic, dramatic and privileged life.

Teaching Experience:

I have ten years' experience of working full-time in a Further Education College. I have been responsible for extraordinary success rates for students of GCSE English, A Level English Language, English Literature and English Language and Literature combined. My particular strengths lie in finding ways to help adults who have not been successful students to find new ways of learning, understanding, applying theory to practice and to pass exams.
I am now a University Lecturer in English, Linguistics, Critical Theory, and Study Skills.

Students might attend for a short, sharp, intense period of tutoring whilst preparing a dissertation, undertaking research or responding to an assessed assignment or they might come weekly for on-going support with a subject or approach.

Tutoring Approach:

Every individual is different and thus my approach to tutoring is fluid. I work with students as a coach might work with an athlete: you will play to your strengths and develop strategies to address areas that could benefit from improvement, gradually improving your performance and results. We will find out just what makes you tick - what you like doing and what you don't like doing. We might consider how these preferences developed and what weaknesses your strengths conceal while we will work together to establish a reliable set of tools and techniques that you can build on and develop to support your own independent learning.
If you like cars we might change a tyre and consider how this exercise could help you remember the elements you must memorise for a linguistic analysis; if you like cooking we might create recipes for successful essays.
Tutoring is designed around you, using your strengths to support you as you improve other areas.

Personal Description:
I am a confident, diligent and sociable person, with a wide knowledge of world history, and specialising in American and South-East Asian history and culture. I hold a double first class Bachelors degree in History and American Studies from Canterbury Christ Church University, and have had many years experience leading youth projects such as youth councils, young persons' scrutiny forums (YPSF) and have acted as a liasion on several historical and cultural preservation projects such as the Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) and the Church House Preservation Committee.

Teaching Experience:

I have previous experience as a teaching assistant to KS3 and KS4 level history at a state secondary school.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a holistic approach to the teaching of history, ensuring that the student becomes engaged within a fuller understanding of the period being studied. As a former student and teach of history, I realise that the principal block to a tutee's understanding of historical concepts is a lack of immersion within the relevant time-frames and thus an inability to fully comprehend why certain actions were taken, and the wider effect this had.

Thus in my approach I am firm believer that it is as important for every student to understand to a higher level than that offered by the current state curriculum the context of the period they are studying. As a consequence I offer tailored introductions to said period's culture, economy, religious and political setting, and even physical geography.

Furthermore, I offer the necessary skills to craft this knowledge into well-reasoned, informed essays. My intimate knowledge of the state education system and beyond has imbued me with the ability to gauge how assignments will be assessed and thus I can work with students not only on improving their knowledge, but showcasing this in highly-marked, structured and coherent written forms.

I use a number of methods to achieve this, including homework assignments, but also using character adoption, audio-visual aids and a mixture of written and verbal questions of varying length and form.

Personal Description:
I am a seventeen year old AS student within college.
I am tutoring GCSE and Primary School children in order to achieve the best they can within English to build their confidence as well as improve their writing and/or reading. English is a key subject in life and in education, and if they can be helped for the future than both student and parent/guardian can be relieved and benefited by the positive outcome.

Being the age I am I can connect to students better and relate to their problems or what they may be having difficulty with and help them in a way to overcome it. After all, no student should feel as though they are anything less than capable.

Will teach 11-14 and GCSE students.

Teaching Experience:

As a first time tutor I have only worked with children in the YMCA in the summer holidays, from as early an age as five to twelve helping them from a range of things from homework to simply organizing trips for them and games so far, but am expanding on my teaching routes. I often assist in class helping other students as well.

Tutoring Approach:

Understanding the ability of the student is important, asking them what they struggle on and need help with or simply need going through or further explanation and assisting them upon it in the best way that they will understand and remember.

Tutoring is extremely rewarding and satisfying for me. Personal Description:
Having obtained several secondary school scholarships, ten A* GCSEs, three A* A2s (in Maths, History and English) and a place at Oxford to read Law I understand how to realise academic potential. At 21, all this experience is also very recent for me so I realise what examiners want right now, and how to prepare students for it. I also have a DBS check.

A recent graduate, I am looking to undertake part-time tuition now I have returned from Oxford (ideally at the weekend or in the evenings).

Teaching Experience:

Over the past several years I have undertaken substantial tutoring commitments alongside my studies, teaching Verbal Reasoning, English, Maths and exam techniques to over 15 pupils, from KS2 to AS. I have taught both individuals and groups. I also have three younger sisters, so get plenty of additional teaching experience at home on a regular basis!

Tutoring Approach:

I focus on developing a pupil's confidence and shaping lessons to fit their particular talents and difficulties. I think it is crucial to make lessons fun, especially when a student does not initially enjoy the subject.

I am very patient, responsive and make a point of giving lots of positive feedback. I also work closely with parents to establish what we are working towards and ensure that a pupil's progress is matching their expectations.
