I'm a 28 year old from the Old Trafford/ Stretford area of Manchester, I graduated in Law from Lancaster university in 2008 but currently work in Banking/finance. I am an individual who is quite fond of reading, debating and discovering new things. I would say I am quite lively, not too difficult to get on with, very ambitious but also with an equal dash of a patience for I am a patient individual. Although I am admittedly not fantastic at sports I do play badminton and football from time to time I can play a range of sports but those tend to be the main two. I am a massive fan of education and self development. The colossal impact both areas can have upon our lives is incalcuable, as such I tend to be never too far away from reading a book or learning something new to further myself.

Teaching Experience:

I have mainly gained a lot of my early teaching experience through tutoring younger siblings and assisting the junior year students either at college or University with areas which they either required either extra help in or further knowledge. As such I have further developed this over the last four years and I am confident that the contribution which I have made to those who I have helped has been substantial in helping them to progress onwards to the next stage and beyond. As such I would hope to extend this towards any student who desires to take me on board and to progress until they are ready for the task at hand.

As I have progressed over the years, teaching various and numerous tutees, my own personal & teaching experience has grown exponentially year on year. As such I believe I can approach any teaching scenario and offer the required angle to ensure success as a result of previous experience yet I still take each student on a case by case/ individual basis rather than a blanket approach.

Tutoring Approach:

I begin my approach with an informal but analytical conversation with the student, parent or both in order to assess strengths and areas where we can develop a plan of action or just to establish face to face what it is we will be doing in the time we have. I will aim to take each stage step by step until both you and I are satisfied that we are confident in understanding and explaining coherently the relevant information. I will be professional but understanding as patience dictates, most importantly any work set during the session will be wholly relevant, comprehensible and creative in order to match your needs.

I do incorporate digital media or a whiteboard depending on the subject if a visual element is required in teaching. Presentations can be sent via email at any time as well.

I did 15 days teaching placement at George Michele Secondary School that TDA selected me for SAS programme. Currently I teach international student who's English is an additional language. I teach diploma and advance diploma modules. My tasks are to design lecture topics and do course preparation. Teaching Experience:

My PGCE year showed me different ways to teach children and emphasised being flexible and adaptable to the individual needs to every child. I incorporate this into my teaching practice on a daily basis and have managed to get it down to an art for tuition too.

During my final year at university, I decided to take on the role of note taker/tutor to a visually impaired first year PPE student. This helped me to fully appreciate the art of communication because I had to learn new techniques to implement when typing up mathematical notation and complicated economic expressions. This aided my organisational and time keeping skills as I had to complete my final year studies simultaneously. I undertook this role so that I could enhance my listening and communication skills. But I finished this role having understood the intricacies of teaching Mathematics to someone who has difficulty due to a disability. I was a successful tutor and my work was valued highly but my greatest achievement within this role was ensuring that the student understood what I taught. Carrying out this enriching role meant I saw the student decipher the complex and challenging mathematics and this confirmed teaching as a career choice.

I decided to use the summer of 2010 fulfilling one of my dreams by working with vulnerable children from underprivileged backgrounds in one of the world's fastest developing nations: India. I taught Mathematics and English to Secondary School students using my Hindi language skills to communicate and ensure that the children understood everything that I was trying to convey. I fulfilled this voluntary role for a period of 3 months and it gave me a very deep insight into what a career in teaching would be like. I travelled 18km on a daily basis but I was happy to give up my time during the week and on the weekend in order to teach or invigilate exams. I was committed to sharing my knowledge and giving the best of myself. This experience showed me that it is important to keep thinking and learning new things in order to be a successful teacher. I created teaching plans before each lesson and took advice from the Head Master and my colleagues which meant that I was able to develop at a rapid pace. I recognise that I still have much to learn but I am ready for the next challenge which awaits me. This experience was heart rendering and left me feeling fulfilled in a way I have never felt before.

I have taught over 30 pupils over the last few years. This has ranged from several A level pupils, several GCSE pupils and a handful of primary school pupils. I have also taught university students in Economics. I have taught both male and female students from varying ages. Pupils tend to find that they gel with me quite well compared to previous tutors they've had.

My students notice a difference in their progress within a very short amount of time because I genuinely care about helping them to get the most out of their potential. One of my languages' students has seen a rapid increase in a matter of weeks in terms of her spoken and written work. All of my Economics' students have seen particularly quick progression in terms of analytical and evaluation skills.

I am a hard working and conscientious tutor - I take my work very seriously and I am committed to helping students perform exceptionally well. The feeling I get from seeing a student finally understand a concept is the greatest feeling in the world. However, I don't take myself too seriously and am very easy to get on with.

Overall - I can help with routine homework, assignments, exam preparation, more focused revision, improving memory and making subjects fun and relatable!

Tutoring Approach:

I plan things and I like to identify a student's weaknesses so that I can help them to kick the demons and enjoy a subject in a way they never have done before. I think making the base of any subject strong is essential and means that a student can develop quicker. I also know that it's important not to overload students with too much information so I make things manageable and progress tends to be very fast :)

Depending on the individual this may mean starting by revising work that has been covered at school/college over a period of time but not understood or it could be regular support with work that is currently being covered. In my experience exam preparation and technique is of vital importance and I aim to teach and support students to increase their individual grade potential through knowledge of the exam, it is important that a student is well prepared going into an examination.

I offer both one to one sessions and also run online group lessons for 50% of my one to one fee. The great thing about this is the focus on exam technique and the addition support you can receive online and part of a select group. (You do not have to provide the group)

My teaching style involves incorporating real-world ideas and case studies wherever appropriate, to give a context to learnt theories/processes.

In my experience, evaluation is the key to unlocking higher grades in Economics and Business. My approach is to develop critical thinkers able to form a well rounded argument and back this through their Economic/Business knowledge.

I also teach Mathematics up to A-Level.

Personal Description:
I am a recent graduate in economics of the LSE and I am currently in the process of completing a graduate diploma in mathematics with the University of London (so far heavily outperforming the average in examinations). In late September I start my master's degree at a top-40 globally ranked business school.

I am reliable and responsible individual. I currently work part time for a major charity in Sheffield in fundraising project management. I am looking to become a private tutor to raise some additional funds to cover the cost of living during my master's degree studies.

Teaching Experience:

I am responsible for assisting with the induction and training of new volunteers during my current role. I have often taught others during my time at university and very much enjoyed the experience. I now have considerable experience teaching A-Level and GCSE maths and economics over the past year.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that it is crucial to impart a developed understanding of the subject to create solid foundations and then build question answering techniques on top of them. This will allow students to improve their confidence in tackling exam questions whilst building the enthusiasm and general problem solving abilities that they will need to be successful at university. I will certainly be living in the Derbyshire area until late September. I am willing to build long term teaching relationships in which the learning requirements of each student are understood and responded to, thus allowing their capabilities with the subject to be developed as quickly and as thoroughly as possible.
