| Personal Description: I am hardworking and enthusiastic about teaching. I have been involved in teaching for many years. I enjoyed teaching because when I see students progress it gives me a lot of satisfaction. |
Teaching Experience: Working as a Chemistry Lecturer I planned lectures covering the B.S Part-1 syllabus (Inorganic, Organic & Physical Chemistry). I had to use effective communication skills to deliver information to students during lectures so that they could easily understand. Working as a science teacher my job profile covered teaching all the science subjects including Biology, Chemistry and Physics according to the syllabus. I prepared the work to be covered in classes in a way that could be easily understood by students. I was also actively involved in organizing and conducting sports activities and invigilating exams. |
Tutoring Approach: I have a caring approach to teaching and I am approachable and patient. I had to use effective communication skills to deliver information to students during lectures so that they could easily understand. My role also included testing their subject knowledge by preparing tests and presentations. |

| Personal Description: I am a self employed professional lady working flexibly from my own home. I am a tutor, trainer, adviser with over 15 years experience working for further education colleges, evening class providers and private training organisations. All my daily work requires the use of a range of computer tools such as email, internet, word processing, desktop publishing and presentations. I have two strands to my professional work. I help businesses with environmental management and setting up an environmental managment system called ISO14001. This work often involves developing training courses using PowerPoint and other computer software and delivering training to the workforce. Over the years I have become increasingly interested in using computers for research and delivering training. So much so that I have gained the Adult and Further Education Teachers' Certificate (City and Guilds 7307), the JEB Teacher Trainer Diploma in Information Technology Skills and the Certificate in Online Tutoring Skills. I have put my enthusiasm for the use of IT and helping people to learn to develop the second stand to my work which is computer training. I enjoy helping people in their own home to get the best out of their computers and providing training for business users who want to undertake day to day adminsitration jobs using IT. If you are looking to understand the environment and earth sciences and how pollution or waste can be better controlled by businesses, my environmental science degree and my subsequent work in pollution control could help your school work, academic study or care for the environment in the workplace. |
Teaching Experience: I was employed for 10 years by Worcester College of Technology as a trainer. I now continue training and advisory work on a self-employed basis. I have also worked for other colleges, private training providers, Birmingham City Council, etc. as a part time trainer for environmental and computer courses. I am a qualified assessor and verifier for NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications) and work as an external verifier for the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). This role involves checking on the quality of training courses that are approved by the Institute. I am a full member of the ILM and the Institute for Learning. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe that learning should be enjoyable and fulfilling. I bring this philosophy, a sense of humour and patience to all my teaching. Needing computer skills for all my work has shown me how vital it is today to get to grips with the basics of IT so whether you just want to surf the net, email a friend or prepare a detailed report for a director you'll need IT skills just as much as the 3Rs. I really enjoy working with people to help them to learn and this enjoyment means that I will be enthusiastic and sympathetic as I help you to improve your computer skills. I would be happy to come to your home or place of work at a time to suit you and to give you the help that you need to progress at your own pace. If you're looking for help with environment science, environmental management and earth sciences, I bring the same enthusiasm for teaching and learning and would be delighted to share my knowledge in this field. |

| Personal Description: I'm an enthusiastic, cheerful student currently studying for a BSc in Logistics at Aston University. I have always been keen to pass my enthusiasm for learning on, particular in areas of applied sciences. Geography has always been one of my key subject areas. As a part time rle, I am responsible for the operations of a railway charter business, so also have a good breadth of business knowledge, which I feel sets me in a good position to encourage younger people to engage in Geography and Business Studies alike. |
Teaching Experience: Whilst at 6th Form, I was on a team of Mentors for younger pupils who required 'extra help'. Whilst rle, I had experience of lesson planning which I could replicate for tutoring purposes. |
Tutoring Approach: I'm a very enthusiastic person, with a teaching style that would engage the pupil, rather then bore them with dry, textbook learning. My lesson plans would always take on a 'hands-on' approach. When I was at school, and still today, I've found the best method of learning is by doing, not reading passages from books. |

| Personal Description: I am a self motivated, approachable geoscientist and am deeply passionate about my subject. Since graduating with a MSc in 2008, I have gained professional experience in different aspects of geology. Before starting a PhD next year I am keen to teach more aspiring geoscientists as well as offer career guidance. |
Teaching Experience: Through my BSc and MSc degrees I gained experience tutoring younger students and class friends. I also assisted my careers department by offering advice to stage one geoscientist. |
Tutoring Approach: I have been told that my teaching style is stimulating and enjoyable. I am well aware that aiming towards excellent exam performance is essential, but I hope to help students develop their own interest in their subject which will carry them beyond examinations. I understand and appreciate time issues when examinations are looming (mass of material, organisation, etc) and therefore value consistent revision plans throughout the term. Regularly discussing topics and concepts one to one in a relaxed environment and meeting revision plans can make all the difference. |

| Personal Description: I'm a 21 year old Female geology and physical geography student at Plymouth university. I grew up in London and went to a well known convent school in West London. I gained As and A*s in my GCSE's and studied Biology, Geography, Chemistry and Anatomy at A level. I took two years out to follow my passion that is working with children and young adults, i feel this had made me older and more mature than my years. |
Teaching Experience: I've worked as an Activity instructor for a well known adventure company that is PGL (parents get lost as some may know it) I worked on the Isle of wight and the South of France. I've worked as an assistant teacher for two london based agencies working across the board with all ages from 3 to 19. I've worked as a nanny/private tutor for 4 young children based in Norway during my summer holidays of 2008. Teaching primary school lessons and lower secondary school subjects. I've worked as an SEN teacher assistant in a specialist school in West London cattering for severly autistic children. I found this an extremly rewarding job and enjoyed every day in the class room. I'm a qualified lifeguard and swimming teacher and have worked part time for 3 years. |
Tutoring Approach: I'm a fishing enthusiast so patience come naturally :) Children develop at different rates and require individual teaching methods. I remember from my education (and on going education) the 'good' teachers. They were always happy, pleasant and proffesional in the classroom. A level of disciplin is required without scary the child. A careful balance is needed. |

| Personal Description: I'm 26 years Belgian national, I have just moved to Plymouth and I am looking to get back in to teaching. Awaiting my application for QTS to come through I am offering my skills as a tutor in my specialist subjects. |
Teaching Experience: I've been working as a fully qualified teacher in Belgium for the last three years. I've been teaching maths, science, physics, biology, geography and social studies to 12 - 16 year olds. In the school I was teaching there was an all inclusive approach to teaching (learning disabilities and social problems). |
Tutoring Approach: I have no means of transport so I would like to work from home. As I am new to the British educational system, it would be handy to have the coursebook your child / you have been using during the sessions. |

| Personal Description: I am very hard-working and creative person. Love to explore and believe in learning. Being an architect I have worked 5 years in my profession after my academics. During my academics I have been taking tuitions to earn for my expensive studies. Recently I got married and shifted here, considering the market situation I realise to take back my teaching skills and do something beneficial for this country rather then sitting ideal. |
Teaching Experience: I am an Architect having past 5 years tutoring experience during my academics in subjects like Maths, science, biology, geography for primary and junior standards. Apart from that I have always attended examinations as an examiner in most of the schools with my father being a teacher. |
Tutoring Approach: Tutoring gives you as a person to develop and learn things which you tend to forget in your past. On the other hand you are developing a child's brain with added efforts making them learn the right approach of learning. Kids are god gift and needs tutors when their parents or family doesn't give them those extra hours which they need desperately for not only their subjects but making them a bright human being to compete with this world. |

| Personal Description: I am a 29 year old researcher at the Macaulay Institute in Aberdeen. I work in the ecology research group and my main area of interest is natural resource management I am able to tutor confidently on environmental science, ecology, geography and to some extent, biology. I have a BSc in Geography and an MSc in Environmental Science. I have a good knowledge of contemporary global issues. |
Teaching Experience: I have spent time teaching environmental education both in the UK and in Brazil where I worked at a forest research centre for 2 years. I also have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language Cetificate and I spent 6 months working as an English teacher in Rio de Janeiro with children aged 5-16 at a community centre in a favela. |
Tutoring Approach: I love to help children learn and help to build their confidence. I think independent learning is good, but also to give encouragement and to listen to children's needs. I am patient and also believe in making learning fun, so with environmental things, hands on is sometimes best, but of course taking full notice of health and safety. | Personal Description: I am an undergraduate student studying for a BSc Hons. in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Bath. I have a good sense of humour and a friendly, patient disposition. I take a meticulous and imaginative approach to my studies and enjoy a challenge. |
Teaching Experience: I have no formal teaching experience. However, I worked as a qualified assistant coach in my local badminton club for a number of years prior to commencement of my degree course, coaching junior players from the age of 6. During my time in sixth form I ran an Earth Sciences workshop for primary school children. For a period of two years, I taught a person with special needs how to use a computer. More recently, I assist the teacher of samba drumming classes and workshops. |
Tutoring Approach: In commencing a structured, syllabus-focussed approach, I work towards the goal of ensuring that my tutees feel secure about their abilities and the course content in preparation for exams. Every effort is made to ensure that a sound understanding is gained of underlying concepts. I realise the importance of a good working relationship with my tutees. A pre-tutoring meeting will be arranged so that I can understand the tutee's requirements and so that he/she can decide whether or not they will feel comfortable commencing a course of tuition with me. Importantly, learning should be enjoyable! I try to teach with this in mind. |
