Liam is an artist and teacher from Nottingham, after school he attended the Art foundation at NCN College Nottingham. He graduated with distinction and went onto Leeds Met University and gained a Ba(hons) in 'Art & Design' in 2002.

After living in France for a short period he returned to Nottingham and opened his studio shop in Nottingham. After 4 years he closed the shop and became purely an online shop. I started my teaching career at the University of Jagiellonian in 2001 where I developed and implemented classes for groups at all levels and ages using both conventional and innovative methods. Although trained in English, I am qualified to teach a variety of subjects. I relish helping children to enjoy literature but at the same time I want to support them to get involved in activities such as art, history, music, and the environment. Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching as a supply teacher in Plymouth; working across the board, teaching pupils of all ages (3-19). Supply teaching has helped me develop a flexible approach to teaching, as I can be teaching Maths one day and History the next.
I have taught classes of all abilities but find the most rewarding work is with low ability classes. During my placement in John Summers High School, I worked closely with the SENCO. I spent much of my time helping out in the SEN department. I occasionally took lessons, and often would work with individual pupils, offering them support with their class work. The work focused on developing pupils' core skills, basic numeracy and literacy. I enjoy helping pupils to understand new concepts. I find the challenge of differentiating work beneficial, not just for pupils, but for myself.

During a primary placement I worked with the SEN group, a class which consisted of ten pupils. The priority was to focus on the pupils' lack of confidence in literacy and numeracy. One particular lesson we took the SEN group down to the reception class, the pupils were paired up and read together. This helped to develop all of the pupils' confidence in reading and communicating with one another. The shared experience made the effort of reading good fun for both classes. I also gave one-to-one support in numeracy lessons.

As a dyslexic teacher, I believe I have an insight to many difficulties that pupils face, and have many different strategies to work around, and with these difficulties. I feel that passing on this insight, and helping pupils with specific learning needs to develop confidence in their learning capacity, is one of my strengths as a new teacher. Teachers observing my lessons have commented on my skill at nurturing shy pupils, ordinarily lacking in confidence.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified Art Teacher and professional artist with specialist knowledge of Drawing, Painting, Digital Photography and Graphic Design. I offer tuition in all art media including pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolour, oils, acrylics, collage, mixed media, digital photography and Photoshop. Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified Art, Craft and Design teacher with 24 years experience teaching all ages, levels and abilities in Schools, Colleges and in the community. I have been teacher in charge of all the Art and Design Technology curriculum in a Primary School, have taught A Level Art and Photography to adults and have been appointed Reserve As Level Art Moderator by OCR exam board. I have also been a Visiting Lecturer in Painting and Creative Studies Lecturer for Eastbourne College of Arts and Technology. Recently I have been teaching art, meditation and digital photography in the community.

Tutoring Approach:
I aim to encourage students to experiment with different ways of expressing themselves creatively and to find their own, personal interests and individual style. Tuition covers both traditional and experiemental approaches. Depending on student needs and the level there is anything from very structured, step-by-step tuition on one hand to independent project work supported by in depth tutorials, gallery visits, DVD and research based learning on the other hand.

My own art work has encompassed both traditional and experimental approaches. Interests in psychology, the spiritual and art as therapy have led me to make more experimental, abstract paintings - landscapes of the mind. This experience of working in and having Art Therapy, has inspired both my own creative work and extended the way I approach teaching.

I prefer to teach art classes in groups no larger than 10, in which a welcoming, friendly atmosphere can develop during the course and students get get more individualised art tuition. Structured art activities are balanced with encouragement to do your own thing, and art teaching methods include demonstrations, talks, discussions, step by step or experimental exercises, projects, homework, encouraging one-to-one guidance and outings, always with the option to do you own thing.

I also offer one-to-one art, digital photography and photoshop tuition at times to suit you, daytimes, evenings and weekends. You can have a session as little or as often as you want, and learn at your own pace.

Personal Description:
I am a young (24) but very experienced artist who specialises in drawing and painting. After selling my first drawing when I was just 9 years old, I have sold drawings, paintings and prints all over the world. I use a wide range of materials and media in my work from pen and ink through to charcoal, acrylic, and even digital photography. My favoured style is realistic, though I often play around with different colours, and one of my strongest skills lies in creating a real sense of depth in my work. I have worked alongside my fair share of world famous artists, and have a good relationship with several London collectors as well as models.

Teaching Experience:
I have no formal teaching qualifications, though I have myself experienced UK and US high schools and UK art colleges (up to degree level). Drawing upon my own experiences I have enjoyed helping a variety of students (from age 5 through to 26) to enhance their own artistic skills.

I believe in an informal and relatively unstructured approach to developing a student's skills. Personal Description:
I have had many years in the kitchen design industry. I started by joining a company that manufacturered kitchens and learnt all aspects from cabinet making, to laminating, to veneering, from worktop mitring and then onto installation and finally design. I have had lots of experience in planning and designing kitchens, from the initial measure which is a vital but underestimated part of the process, through to basic design skills and onto selling.

Teaching Experience:
I have worked for a kitchen design software company and gave training courses on the product, this not only involved the actual software, but also general design techniques for kitchens etc. I am now able to teach both the design requirements for kitchens but also the software package.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe in a hands on approach, I would expect my students to be able to carry out the basic tasks of measuring kitchens, planning kitchens by drawing on graph paper and the transferring this to a computer programme. The programme should be fun and I would hope anyone taking part would complete the course and be able to get a job as a kitchen designer.
