| Personal Description: I'm an artist/Designer, i finish my studies in Textile and Fashion Design last year, I study sculpture and art and design also. I did some courses on art and crafts like felt making, book making, lamp shaping, rug making, embroidering. I have experience working with CAD, with Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign, I am currently improving my skills in web design. I'm patient, focus and enthusiastic and happy to learn new things. I'm currently working in my qualification to become a teaching assistant, looking for schools to get experience, but I'm very confident teaching the subjects that I'm passionate about. |
Teaching Experience: I experience working with children in a Playschool, Children City Camps and as a Nanny and I work a few months giving Spanish lessons. |
Tutoring Approach: When I teach Spanish I try to be very clear and motivate the person. It's important that the person loose the fear to speak in a different language, and quickly feel confident to try even if it's not entirely correct. In art and design, is about research and study other artists. If you are doing some kind of art work you need to feel it and enjoy doing it, because it's the only way that you will show yourself in your work. |

| Personal Description: I'm currently a student at Birmingham City University I am about to enter my final year of jewellery design. I'm home for the summer, until the middle of September. My main focus is in design but drawing skills are an integral part of what I do. As far as travelling is concerned i will travel further than the distance stated if necessary. I dont tutor online at the moment but this wil be possible at a later date. If you would like more details about anything from myself to the content of the qualifications I have please do ask. |
Teaching Experience: Through school I was part of the mentoring scheme working with younger pupils in and out of the classroom. While at college I was a classroom assistant working with people from their mid teens up to retirement age. |
Tutoring Approach: I prefer a relaxed environment where the student feels comfortable. Initially I like to see the way that the student works, trying to gain a bit of understanding of the methods the student employs. From this i can work around the strengths and weaknesses of each individual. I don't give a set amount of homework as the creative process isn't comparable to reading a text book, though I would hope to see progress after each visit. |

| Personal Description: I'm a University Graduate with a Degree in Education Studies. Following on from this I was president of the Student' Union for a year dealing with a range of student and education issues. I have a passion for education and a strong grasp of all key curriculum subjects. In addittion to this I work part time at a local mental health charity. |
Teaching Experience: I spent 2 years training to be a teacher before deciding against it so I have plenty of experience working with children, with both formal and informal classroom work, involving lesson planning, marking and general supervision of primary school aged children. While at secondary school I ran a lunchtime activities club and volunteered as a peer mentor assisting younger students with their school work. |
Tutoring Approach: During my teaching practices I was able to connect well with this children and this is something I would bring to the tutoring role. It's important to engage with the student on their own level in order to assist with their understanding. While at times guidance may be required I think it is a lot more rewarding to the student to discover things for themselves rather than being given the answer, to this end I would work hard to empower the student without doing the work for them. |

| Personal Description: I am a student at Leeds University in my 3rd and final year reading History of Art. I am looking for part-time work during the week, with the option of weekend shifts as well. I have a limited timetable at University so as a result my hours are flexible. Ideally I am looking for three days/shifts a week. I am a hard working, patient, friendly and confident person who loves children. |
Teaching Experience: I worked in a charity school in Cape Town called LEAP with young children who are struggling to cope with the hardships life through at them. I helped out in all areas. |
Tutoring Approach: I am willing to help explore all avenues with my student and I believe I could be an inspirational teacher as I am a very creative person who loves working with children. It was not that long ago that I myself completed my qualifications at school so I am therefore a fresh source of energy who knows what the curriculum really wants and how to perform well in the modern educational environment. |

| Personal Description: I am young, friendly, enthusiastic and experienced tutor. I have lived abroad for over 5 years so I am very open minded and value diversity. I am currently completing an Msc in Community Learning and Development and enjoying it very much. As a trained artist I enjoy making and exhibiting my work in Scotland. I am a very active person, I love snowboarding and rock climbing and I think my varied interests have stood me in good stead in my experience thus far - good analogies for teaching! |
Teaching Experience: Over four years teaching Art and English as a second language in Japan - to students aged 2 to 82! In Japan I taught in both private and group settings and trained colleagues to facilitate learning. Experience of teaching business English and preparing students to sit TOEFL, IELTS and other English Language tests. In the UK I have taught art and craft in children's classes and young people art school portfolio preparation. I have extensive experience of working with children, young people and migrants in a community setting, teaching everything from global citizenship to outdoor education. |
Tutoring Approach: As an arts graduate I am extremely creative and like to apply this to my teaching. While working in Japan I set up the community centre in which I worked and created the programme and curriculum according to the expressed needs of the students; I think this is very important - to respond to what the students wish to learn. I am patient and tolerant of mistakes and attitudes, while encouraging and hopeful about progress. I am very laid back and like to have a joke - I would like to think that my students enjoy learning with me, as I have certainly enjoyed learning with them! |

| Personal Description: My First degree was in mechanical engineering with aeronautics from Brunel University. I progressed on to post-graduate level and completed a Master's degree in aerospace engineering. I am now conducting research for a technical institute out in industry and collecting evidence towards my PhD in a physics related subject. I have taught both in the classroom and the home environment in the North London area. My degrees have called upon a very high level of maths and sciences so I am fully able to accommodate a range of needs up to University level. I posses a current CRB check and I am willing to travel to you. |
Teaching Experience: I became a part-time lecturer at a further education college in 2001, where I taught an engineering drawing class. The subject is full of complex geometry and I enjoyed the preparation for each lesson and the challenge of teaching. At the end of my first year my colleagues thought that I had a natural ability and approached me with the offer of a full-time teaching post. The teaching responsibilities covered a range of disciplines found within engineering such as material science, maths, physics, technology and practical workshop activities. Another essential part of the role was external NVQ assessment in collaboration with local companies such as Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce. Recently, I have taught maths and science privately in North London and in the classroom at a further education college in North West London. |
Tutoring Approach: I have an open and supportive style to my teaching and believe it is important to make the student feel at ease during any period of learning. A tutor must centre the lesson around the student group or individual's capabilities, this can be achieved by highlighting an objective set in a particular curriculum, assessing prior knowledge and finally guiding them though to meet the objective. |

| Personal Description: I am a contemporary community artist making visual art for exhibition, publication and screening. I make work in painting, photography and film and I also write and make books. My work often takes me to lots of interesting places around the country and abroad where I facilitate training in art and creativity with a range of community groups. I have been working as an artist in schools since 1997 particularly with primary school aged children. When I am not doing all of this i like to go to the theatre, galleries, travel and cook. I'm part of a local ladies football team who i train with every week and I commute by bicycle whenever I can as keeping fit and active is an important part of my lifestyle. |
Teaching Experience: I began teaching/facilitating as a training advisor in 2001 within a community arts project and adopted a participant-centred approach which was effective in working with participants who were partly or permanently excluded from school or/and living within the foster care system, or unemployed with no or little qualifications. My role was to facilitate the development of individualised project briefs and themes with participants based upon both their strengths and interests and build a programme of workshops to facilitate both creative and Key Skills development. Participants would be encouraged to work independently, individually and in groups in response to self-created briefs to produce a portfolio of creative work. I liaised with outside agencies within education, social services, and industry sectors to actively re-introduce and establish participants who had produced a body of work into full/part time education, work experience or/and relevant employment. The process of facilitation and consultation was quite challenging due to issues and barriers to learning and expression participants displayed and I developed an open, flexible and responsive attitude. Continual monitoring, informal and formal assessment strengthened the reflection and evaluation of participants engagement and progress which in turn led to further developments in implementing differentiated provision. This experience laid the foundations for a teaching style that was inclusive in nature and was further developed throughout the following years (2002-) of artistic practice that saw me facilitate skills in visual art production with a range of community groups. The combined experiences as a training advisor and as an artist/facilitator have merged into what I consider to be a teaching style that flourished with my role as lecturer on the photography degree at a local college. Working within an institution of further and higher education as a lecturer was a stark contrast to what I had engaged in before and required me to teach within established schemes of work and modes of delivery. I adapted myself to this successfully maintaining a creative and individualised approach to teaching within a framework. The following academic year in 2007 I was given the responsibility of devising the scheme of work and mode of delivery for the critical and theoretical studies module on the photography degree, which was to be co-delivered with a new member of staff. |
Tutoring Approach: Throughout employment as a lecturer and training advisor my approach and teaching style took into consideration each student's individual circumstances, their interests, needs, abilities, and learning styles, adapting the teaching content and style to ensure student engagement. I am also aware of what is needed to effectively strike a balance between individual student aspirations and abilities against collective requirements stipulated by a curriculum. I've worked with students from both vocational and academic backgrounds, with disaffected and culturally diverse youth age groups, with students who have alternative and changing lifestyles, mental health and physical conditions, and do so by adapting style and content to structure and scaffold their journey through the course offering the relevant support and pastoral care. |

| Personal Description: I graduated with honers from Moon Area High School in 2007 and I plan to resume my education in September 2009. I will be taking an Illustrations course at the University of Plymouth. I am generally believed to be a rather shy person but it doesn't take long to find that this is not the case. I enjoy creating and designing anything from characters and drawings to gift boxes and doll houses. I believe that with a little guidance, anyone can learn to be an artist. |
Teaching Experience: I first started tutoring at Allard Elementary School for a school club. I found that I enjoyed it and what began as two days soon became two years. At around the same time, I was asked if I would be the Sunday school teacher at United Faith Baptist Church. After over one year, I gave up my position when my family and I moved out of the area. For a short while, I worked as a private art tutor. Not long after finding the position, my family moved again. Since our last relocation, I have been volunteering with the Parents and Toddlers program at Hope Baptist Church. I have also been asked to be one of the Children's Bible Study teacher at Ford Baptist Church. |
Tutoring Approach: My family and I have moved more times in my life than I have fingers on my hands to count them with. I have gone to six different schools in three different countries. In every new location I encountered a new style of teaching and learning. I think this has made me very flexible as a tutor. Because every pupil is unique, I rely on my past experiences in order to discover what approach is best for the task at hand. |

| Personal Description: I am a product and graphic designer based in Liverpool. My design work involves the use of 3DSMax, Solidworks, AutoCAD and Adobe photoshop packages. Some of my designs have received interest from Nottingham City Council to be put into commercial use. I am a very outgoing person and find tuition very rewarding as it allows me to get the best out of my students. My goal is to provide my students with interactive lessons in order for them to be a success. |
Teaching Experience: I have a degree in BSc Computer Aided Product Design from Nottingham Trent University. In art and design, Nottingham Trent is ranked in the top three universities overall in the country by HESA. I have taught at several schools across the North West in recent years gaining invaluable experience, however my key interest is in private tuition as I get to personally have an influence on the success of a student. All of my students have reached their goal working along side me. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is initially allowing the student to feel comfortable around me in order for them to express themselves, I find this essential in achieving success. If a student wants to become familiar with a piece of software then I like to run through some tutorials alongside them, so that they can become familiar with the software. If a student wants to enhance their ability then I can help bring that out of them. The student will be set tasks from each lesson to reveal whether they have grasped the topic for the next lesson. The success of the student will be based on both of us working together. |
