Personal Description:
I am 23 years old and I hold excellent GCSEs and A-levels (focused predominantly on Science and Humanities), a 1st class honours degree in Biological Sciences from the UEA and I am currently training to be a doctor in the Swansea/Cardiff partnership. I am the appointed Medical President at Swansea and sit on numerous academic committees and boards. I am focused on developing my research skills and I have one publication to date, but I'm currently working on others.

Teaching Experience:
I enjoy tutoring and feel that at 23 years old I am not intimidating or too 'teacher-like', but instead I act more as a mentor, so I can interact on an equal level with my students and engage them to become enthusiastic about science and succeed in their goals.

Tutoring Approach:
I am able to tutor biology students from GCSE through to degree level and all other science students to GCSE level. Personal Description:
I recently graduated from the University of Sussex with a First in English Language and currently live in central Brighton. I'm a very friendly and caring person and have lots of experience of working and interacting with children and young people in an educational context. I am a creative and forward thinking tutor and enjoy finding ways to explain and remember difficult and unfamiliar concepts. Teaching Experience:
My first job was as an Activities Assistant in a local museum where I helped children learn and have fun while taking part in educational activities and workshops during the school holidays. I received formal training in child education and interaction.
During sixth form I was selected and trained as a student mentor and met with a group of GCSE students every fortnight to discuss academic and personal issues.
In the summer holidays during university I worked as a Children's University Tutor in Portsmouth, planning and running educational workshops for primary school children. These included arts and crafts, class trips and school-style lessons.
I am currently a Study Support Worker for Brighton & Hove City Council and work in afterschool 'homework clubs' in libraries around the city where children and young people can get help and advice with their studies. I was also training in child education for this post.
I have tutored a friend's children for the last year (primarily in Maths and Science) and would be happy to provide her details, or the deatils of any former employee, as a reference on request.

Tutoring Approach:
I am very flexible with regard to my approach. I am happy to visit a student's house or meet somewhere like a public library for the sessions or even tutor online (using MSN or Skype). I have found the best session length to be around an hour, although the homework clubs I work at run for slightly longer and I am more than happy to work for as long as the student wants to. I am happy to work on a regular weekly basis, for revision sessions prior to exams or just on a one-off or occasional basis.
I find it best to use school textbooks or revision guides as the basis for tutoring but again I am flexible here. I bring my own stationery but will charge for other materials like textbooks, as well as for travel outside of Brighton & Hove.

I am a mature highly educated individual. I have worked in computer related industries for most of my life. I've taught, mentored and tutored formally and informally in mathematics and IT.

Normally, I start by going over 'urgent' topics that may be bothering the student.
We later go over the most recent material they've been doing, thus keeping on top of the school stuff.
Then, gradually, I go back to revise older material as contained in his/her exercise note-books.
I usually rely on the text books adopted by the tutees' schools.

I am married with 2 daughters and have spent most of my working life in education.

I spent almost 20 years teaching maths and science in 2 Lancashire high schools, Garstang and Broughton. I have also worked part time for Lancashire Education Medical Service teaching children in hospital or at home if they are not well enough to return to school. I have also 17 years experience of marking GCSE, iGCSE and was a teamleader for Key Stage 3 science from 1999 to 2008. In 2009 and 2010 I marked KS2 science.

I am a fully qualified teacher with QTS status. I am currently teaching a Year 1 class, however I have taught in Year 6 and Year 2. I also have a wide range of experience with children throughout the primary level in various different schools, including 1:1 work. As well as my classroom role, I also hold the position of Humanaties Co-ordinator (History and Geography) within my school. I have also had a lot of experience with children with Special Educational Needs, including Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD and Down Syndrome, during my teaching career and 1:1 work carried out before. Personal Description:
I am now an undergraduate in University of Oxford reading Mathematics and Statistics. I am comfortable with teaching Mathematics up to A levels and especially keen in training students for Maths Olympiad. I have first hand experience when it comes to dealing with primary school Maths Olympiad as I was one of the 8 representatives of Malaysia to participate in the 5th Primary Mathematics World Contest held in Hong Kong. Teaching Experience:
I started teaching when I was studying for my A levels. I was a personal tutor of a 14-year old student in Chinese/Mandarin and Sciences from February 2007 to October 2007. After finishing my A levels in November 2007, I took up a job at an education centre in Singapore as a Maths Olympiad Projects Assistant and Trainer. Within this 7 months, I was heavily involved in conducting lesson groups and workshops for Maths Olympiad all over Singapore as well as writing training materials for the students.

For mathematics and sciences, I will be helping the student to understand and grasp the concepts instead of practicing rote learning. More time will be spent on solving problems for mathematics.
