Personal Description:
I am a qualified language teacher who has a flair and passion for modern languages. I believe its very important for children to have a knowledge of a modern language no matter how little. I am dedicated and reliable in everything I do and believe in using varied teaching techniques to aid learning. I am also very liberal and flexible in my teaching. I have taught in various schools as part of my PGCE as well as having tutored a 4year old, 16 year old, adult groups in business and even an 89 year old. I worked as a foreign language assistant in France in 2004 where I taught English.

Teaching Experience:

I have completed my PGCE in modern languages in June 2007 and through my training, I have taught in a variety of mainstream secondary and primary schools in both England and Northern Ireland. I am familiar with KS2/KS3/GCSE and A Level syllabus and I am willing to use these solely or incorporate them into my teaching. I have also one to one experience with pupils of all ages and also adults. In my teaching I have also taught GCSE Citizenship and currently teach 11-14 Spanish. I have excellent ICT skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that teaching in small groups/individually is the most effective way to learn. Obviously I will asses the students needs and plan accordingly but I am also willing to take requests of lesson content. I use a variety of resources and games to aid remembering grammar and vocabulary and also incorporate the four skills of languages (reading, writing, listening and speaking) into each of my lesson. Each lesson I teach is carefully planned out and flows in a way to capture the students attention at all times and prevent distractions or boredom.

Personal Description:
I have a 2.1 in Business and Management from Kingston University, followed by Masters in Film and Media.
I achieved 8 A-C grades in GCSE and 3 A-C grades for A Levels.
I am from a good family background with high morals. I am a fun and enthusiast person when it's coming to teaching and understanding someone to a particular topic.
I am an open minded, with good manners and I can explain anything clearly.
Everyone and anyone does listen to me as my teaching methods are catchy and I am good with the younger minds, as the type of person I am, people do listen, I can easily make friends.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for the last 6 years to family and friends of mine. These are usually GCSE students, and A Levels. I have taught around seven students, and currently teaching four, two of whom are currently doing Business GCSE and two who is doing A Level Media Studies.

Tutoring Approach:

As I have not long done my A Levels and GCSE, and that I am quite young, students tend to gel with me quite nicely. There isn't that age gap, I have been in their shoes not long ago! So therefore I believe I am a great teacher. I have great patients for the students who find it difficult to understand, but my teaching methods help me break it down to make it much easier and remember able to them.
I'm probably more into what students are into these days as I have brothers and cousins who are around the ages from 12-18 so I can be good friends with them as well of being their tutor.

Personal Description:
I am Ruth, a 31 year old Project Leader for a domiciliary care service that supports a young adult with learning disabilities. I have excellent communication skills and the logical ability to turn the abstract or seemingly obscure into something simple and digestible; I am adaptable and always tailor my tutoring style to the needs and preferences of the individual learner.

I have a first class honours degree in Philosophy from the University of Southampton and have experience teaching literacy skills to children and adults; including those with learning disabilities.

My interests lie in the arts including vintage clothing, visiting art exhibitions, art history, reading and music.

Teaching Experience:

Hampshire Autistic Society
Osborne School
Winchester.

Tutoring Approach:

I value education highly and would love the knowledge I have acquired, and continue to acquire, to be put to good use and, in the words of Alan Bennet, 'passed on'.

My tutoring style is relaxed and natural, positive and focussed. I believe in supporting individuals to develop independent learning skills and self-confidence in order to achieve their goals to the best of their abilities. My personal aim is to foster enthusiasm for subjects I genuinely love and believe to be important in life.

The key, in my opinion, to educational progression is to focus on building confidence and encouraging independent thinking as well as equipping individuals with critical and evaluative skills.

I intend to help make learning as enjoyable and manageable as possible. Every individual is different and therefore learns through different means, at different paces. For this reason I endeavour to get to know individual student in order to develop enjoyable individual learning programmes.

Tutoring Approach:

My main Tutoring ethos lies in four fields:

Encouragement: As a sports captain, Head of Year prefect and tutor of students wishing to achieve better I realise the need for a pupil's confidence to be built up before they can achieve better. In my opinion a pupil is never failing, they can just achieve more.

Planning: It is essential for me to have an organised lesson plan, and plan for our future sessions so we can map where we should be heading and what we have achieved. Many students suffer from poor organisation which, if remedied, would immediately proffer far better results.

Academic experience: I have worked in private tutoring, state and private schools, university departments and know how examiners mark and what they expect. By improving basic exam technique a student's confidence and grades can soar, guaranteeing the results they want. I have worked for 2 prestigious Universities and am adept at entrance documents and applications.

Education: During my past six years of college, undergraduate and graduate university I have been educated in a host of valuable disciplines that help interest and inspire any student. My enjoyment of higher education and learning is somewhat infectious, and I hope any student I teach would feel the same interest and passion for their subject.

Tutoring needs to be tailored to each individual. For any pupil its best if I am told about their interests, and activities, so we can then work out a good and effective tutoring plan.

Additional Services:
As well as Subject tutoring I offer the following services at pre-agreed hourly rate:

Essay and Dissertation readings and markings (for all levels and subjects)
Cover letter reading and marking for University entrants
Thesis reading and grading for University level

Personal Description:
I am a senior manager working within the public sector based in central London. My core academic subjects are Social Science and Politics although I have a strong background across the Humanities. To give you a flavour of this, my dissertation for my MA was entitled "Conflicting Perspectives on the Function of the British Mosque" and I have a personal interest in the role religion plays in society. My academic qualifications in this field are supported by extensive professional experience working within local and central government. I provide that sought after combination of in depth academic knowledge with 'on the ground' relevant and extensive practical experience. Many of my clients comment on this being a significant factor in why I was chosen above other tutors.

I also have a science and mathematical background and possess a BTEC HNC in Medical Science. I was a state registered Medical Scientist working in Haematology/Blood Transfusion in a major London hospital for a number of years.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive tutoring experience of A level Sociology and Government and Politics and a proven track record. I am currently tutoring students for Edexcel and AQA A Level Government and Politics and Sociology, BSc Sociology, and essay writing. I can provide verifiable references from recent/current students.

The last round of resits (March 2013) all my students achieved a minimum two grade increase to their original grades and can provide details for any potential client to check.

A significant amount of my client base is built up through recommendations from previous clients. I also have extensive experience of teaching adults in an adult education environment and have an NVQ in Delivering Learning.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide tutoring on a 121 basis but am totally flexible depending on the tutees needs. I tutor to the subject syllabus, with the added value of my experience, expertise and contextual detail on current political and social events being included. I build confidence above all else.

It is always difficult inviting a new tutor into your house, but you will find I am relaxed, friendly, totally adaptable and totally reliable. My clients comment they can set their watch by my punctuality! I am available most evenings and all weekends but with sufficient notice I can also tutor during the day.

Included in the fee is full email and telephone support - no extra charges !! In addition the first consultation is free of charge for you to meet me and ensure that I am suitable for your needs. I will travel most places but if it is a substantial distance will add travel costs.

Many of my clients will support the fact that they actually realised they began to enjoy the subject following being tutored by me.

Personal Description:
I am a newly qualified primary teacher who also holds degrees in history and law. I am incredibly passionate about education and learning, and believe I can capture your interest and enthusiasm for my subjects. Learning should be fun after all!

I am professional alongside being flexible, approachable and friendly. My career history spans industries including education, childcare, law, retail, luxury goods and sport.

My hobbies include reading, creative writing, history, art and tennis.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified primary teacher with over 5 years working experience in the education industry. I have worked in early years, primary, secondary and higher education settings. As a result, I have experience across a wide age range of learners.

I am confident in teaching the full range of primary curriculum subjects, as well as English, history and law to higher levels. For my teacher training in primary education, I was classed as a 'very good to outstanding' teacher.

I have also been a tennis coach and a university student mentor (history), where I assisted fellow students with any aspect of their studies including subject knowledge and pastoral concerns.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to ensure my learners have personalised provision - this means we cover topics and progress at a pace suitable to your personal learning needs.

I get to know my learners as individuals. I take the time to build up a rapport and find out their interests and passions, which I then attempt to bring into my planning and lessons. I find this to be hugely motivational. You will learn best if you are motivated and enjoying the topics!

I am happy to tutor from my own home, where I have an office space specifically set up for teaching, or over the Internet.

Personal Description:
I'm a second year law student at Oxford Brookes University. When I'm not married to the library or volunteering with Citizen's Advice, I like spend my time with my housemates and best friends, a few drinks and a decent movie.
I'm dedicated to my studies and training to be a lawyer, so helping people out by sharing my knowledge is going to form a large part of what I do for a living, which is why I want to do exactly that by tutoring alongside my studies.

Teaching Experience:

I don't have any formal teaching experience. However, I have a large amount of experience as a private tutor, particularly for AS and A level law.
I also spend a fair amount of time helping other students on my degree, by explaining concepts that they don't understand, or giving them tips on where and how to find out for themselves.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is flexible. I understand that some people are better at learning raw facts, while others are better at understanding abstract concepts; some people are better at understanding something that's been explained verbally, while others gain a stronger understanding through visual aids.
The approach I take is to attempt to understand the strengths of the person in front of me, and then explain the concepts in a way that plays to those strengths. I am patient, open, and always focussed on assisting understanding, rather than lecturing.
Once I'm sure that a student understands the concepts, I will give then a chance to demonstrate that by means of some sort of exercise. This will enable me to identify any remaining gaps, and also reinforces a student's understanding.

I am available for face-to-face tuition everywhere within the Oxford Ring Road, and for tuition online. Email or call me for details!
It's essential for me to know ahead of time what topic the lesson will be on so I can prepare a lesson plan and exercises. Again, call or email for further details!
