I can provide references on request from past and present clients who have achieved and continue to achieve success in their studies at all levels. I enjoy seeing my pupils make rapid progress and achieving academic success.

Teaching Experience:

I specialise in Entrance Examinations at 7+ and 11+, SEN and tuition for pupils who lack confidence and skills and need support to improve. I have vast experience teaching within excellent local schools and I am currently a Headteacher in a large Junior School. I teach children on a 1-2-1 basis to ensure that they receive the additional input that they need in order to achieve. I specialise in assisting children who lack confidence in specific areas and I am able to assist these children in improving their skills levels within their own school. I can provide excellent references on request from many happy pupils and parents.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a patient and understanding tutor with the ability to communicate effectively with both adults and children. My aim is to ensure that pupils develop additional skills and increased confidence in their studies. I make my lessons fun and enjoyable for pupils so that they are able to enjoy learning and are keen to attend my tutoring sessions. I keep parents updated on their children's progress on a regular basis and encourage children to share worries about specific subject areas so that we can explore them together.

Personal Description:
I am a mature professional, originally from Yorkshire. I hold a current enhanced CRB check and have spent most of my life working with children and young people. Most of my work has involved teaching pupils with special educational needs. At present I work part-time as a teacher in a hospital school with students 5-19yrs. I am highly qualified in teaching. In addition to a Bachelor of Education degree with honours, I hold an MA in the Psychology of Education, and diplomas in the teaching of reading (literacy and literature) and in Counselling. I also have a certificate in TEFL My work with children has not been restricted to teaching - I have worked as a Youth and Community worker, as a Counsellor and as a Child Protection Officer. My hobbies include drama, dance and choral singing.

Teaching Experience:

I trained as a teacher of infants but I have worked as a teacher of all ages and abilities. The majority of my teaching has involved pupils who experience a variety of special educational needs - social, emotional and behaviour difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, dyslexia, medical and mental health difficulties. I have also taught in secure accommodation. My teaching is effective - my work as a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator in a large primary school in South London received a very good Ofsted report because the pupils with special educational needs made good progress - better progress than pupils in the school who did not have special needs! I am also on the Upper Pay Scale for teachers who have proved to government that their teaching interventions make a difference to pupil attainment.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a great deal of experience as a teacher of individuals and small groups in school and many years experience of private tutoring. My success comes from teaching each person, adult or child as a unique individual. I am popular with my students because I endeavour to make learning fun whilst retaining high expectations of effort and success, being patient, firm but fair. My fee reflects my knowledge, skill and experience. I integrate my tutoring with the tutees school syllabus and approach, increasing motivation with encouragement, challenge and the introduction of new knowledge in carefully paced steps. I begin with a thorough assessment of a student's strengths and weaknesses at my base where I have assessment materials for all ages. My fee is payable for this session when clients can examine my CRB check, qualifications and we can discuss mutual availability (times) and location.

Personal Description:
I have a passion for the English language and its literature which is reflected in my work. I really enjoy tutoring, because I know the one-to-one learning situation gives students the attention and focus which they need to improve, and which they cannot get in school. I only work in West Yorkshire, up to 12 miles' drive from my home.

Teaching Experience:

I have 30 years' experience of teaching English to kids of varying backgrounds and abilities (11 to 18 up to A level) so I have built up an extensive bank of resources over the years, which I use to carefully prepare for lessons. I am also an experienced examiner for AQA, which offers valuable insights into exactly how to achieve high GCSE grades . I have been tutoring successfully for five years now, and my knowledge and expertise would be very useful to students aiming at high marks in GCSE and A level exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I am patient, friendly and easy to get on with. I have always tried to make my lessons interesting, relevant and inter-active. I tailor my teaching to the pupil and know that praise and encouragement are the keys to confidence and progress. A good sense of humour is vital, too.
I have helped to improve the grades of many pupils, some of whom have achieved the highest grade at GCSE, and have coached younger ones through entrance exams. One student, whom I tutored for three years, progressed from a poor level 4 in year 8 to GCSE grade B, the minimum requirement for A levels in many good schools, while others have achieved the A* grades required for their chosen paths.
I have achieved high ratings from the parents of students I have tutored. A good tutor can make a difference with focused one-to-one attention, and I am a good, committed tutor.

Personal Description:
I am a teacher of exceptional qualifications and experience, acquired in both Bulgaria and the UK. My 5-year MA degree (English Philology, comprising of English and American Studies, Applied Linguistics and Theory and Practice of Translation, Grade 2:1) has provided me with a thorough and solid theoretical basis in all aspects of English. It includes a teaching qualification up to Level 7/8, validated as a full UK QTS by the GTC for England. I have also completed a second degree (with 1st class Hon.) and obtained a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults.

My theological degree and the Certificate in Counselling, have equipped me with deeper understanding of my students as whole human beings.

I have an excellent command in English, Bulgarian and Russian, and use French at a pre-intermediate level. I have completed other training courses as relevant for my teaching skills.

I am qualified and experienced to teach pupils from primary school to university (post-graduate) level as following:

- primary school: English, Maths, basic literacy and numeracy skills
- secondary school: English language, English literature, Maths (year 7 and 8), GCSE English Language and Literature
- A-level English Language and Literature
- ESOL - all levels
- Citizenship - Life in the UK test
- IELTS - all levels
- English for Academic Purposes (academic writing skills, essays, reports, dissertations, projects) - undergraduates and post-graduates
- proofreading of academic assignments (essays, reports, dissertations, projects) - undergraduates and post-graduates
- help with writing academic assignments (essays, reports, dissertations, projects) - undergraduates and post-graduates
- Bulgarian language - all levels

Teaching Experience:

I have been employed as an EAP, Business, IELTS, ESOL and English Language and Literature teacher and have worked at universities, colleges and schools across two countries. My experience in teaching and translation has expanded my vocabulary and understanding of the principles in Business, Marketing and Management, Economics, Accounting and Finance. My experience teaching at four universities, and supporting children in schools and adults has helped me become an exceptionally versatile teacher.

While tutoring all my primary school pupils achieved their individual targets (whether improving basic literacy skills, or advancing in their level of reading or writing).

My GCSE and A-level English pupils achieved 100% A-grades in their exams (both English language and literature).

I have tutored successfully for the Citizenship/Life in the UK test. I have the latest information of the test changes (from 2014). All my tutees have passed the Life in the UK test.

With university students I have expertise teaching the following academic skills:

structuring academic essays, implementing skills of cohesion and coherence and using the appropriate subject-related style
paraphrasing and summarising texts and applying correct grammar and suitable register in writing
using quotations and in-text citations and referencing them accordingly
producing accurate and cohesive reports in the appropriate style and format
developing reading strategies for academic materials
developing critical thinking skills through discussions and seminars and applying them in academic writing
critically evaluating sources of data
preparing a subject-related project/feasibility report using a range of data sources
delivering a presentation on a subject-specific topic, using Microsoft Powerpoint for effect
demonstrating understanding of key concepts and inferring the meaning of unfamiliar words from the context
developing speaking and seminar skills, useful for active participation in discussions and debates in the classroom and outside
demonstrating the ability to carry out case study analysis
interpreting numerical, statistical and financial data orally and in writing
deploying the necessary library- and word-processing skills to fulfil set tasks
demonstrating a clear understanding of what constitutes plagiarism and how to use the Harvard Referencing system for citation and the production of Reference Lists

At an academic skills pre-sessional course at the University of Birmingham in 2014 I gained even deeper experience supporting individual students with writing within very constrained time-limits. I guided all to success at their final assessments. I had some very positive feedback and comments of appreciation.

I have taught in various set-ups - whole class, pair work, group work, or one-to-one sessions. I am deeply interested in each student's individual learning needs and progress and one of my major strengths is differentiation. I sometimes prepare material at 4 levels of differentiation for a single class or small group. I use supportive strategies to boost students' confidence, at the same time challenging learners to achieve beyond their own expectations. I approach intense 1-to-1 sessions with the appropriate dynamics.

I am prepared to go beyond my 'job description' duties to help students with 'special needs'. I am interested in their individual circumstances and take them into account, where appropriate. I prepare resources to address their personal needs and interests. I review their progress and involve them in self-assessment towards autonomy of learning. I am familiar with the 'Assessment for Learning' policy and competent with implementing it widely.

I have worked successfully with students with dyslexia. At secondary school, one of my 'high-ability' dyslexic students scored an 'A' grade at her English GCSE, while another participated in a poetry competition. I have had success teaching students with autism and Asperger's as well.

I invest all of myself in my teaching. I am a highly trusted professional and have an exceptional rapport with my students. I am often quoted as a preferred tutor, who 'has the best way of explaining things' and 'is very patient, friendly and cheerful'. All students of mine - regardless whether at school, college or university - progressed by at least one level (even at short-term courses). A student with a debilitating illness on the BME, predicted to fail the course, not only passed it under my guidance, but achieved grades higher than his required level. In my 15-year teaching career I have never failed a student. I have achieved outstanding results at OFSTED observations. My latest annual lesson observation at BMETC was graded 'OUTSTANDING' and so was my performance at NAVITAS earlier this year. Another observation at BCU was unofficially deemed as 'the best on the course'. I have been invited to share exceptional ideas at training events and have also participated in numerous training activities at schools, colleges and universities. I often opt to peer-observe colleagues, to learn from their teaching styles.

Some more examples from my practice: a class of illiterate Yemeni housewives at BMETC, 2011, achieved a 100% pass at their ESOL exams, while 'advanced' international students at the BME, 2012 achieved some of the highest grades on the course. I have been successful dealing with pupils with behavioural problems at Harborne Hill School. Many reported an increasingly positive attitude to learning.

Creativity is another of my specific 'gifts'. Students appreciate the varied activities I offer - discovery, peer-teaching, role play, group projects, group presentations, 'speaking corner' competitions, debates, often creating my own materials for them. According to students' needs, I use the T-T-T or P-P-P approach, the first one being my personal preference, as it allows a wider scope for creativity. Communication takes place all through the lesson, in possibly, multi-cultural groups, as I believe these skills would be beneficial for life. I make use of all resources available, with ILT used in every lesson. I rely heavily on using the VLE and widely implement e-learning. In lessons I have used Iphones and Ipads, to help visual and auditory learners. For kinaesthetic learners I have other activities, which have proven popular. It is my observation that despite the varied learning styles, all students benefit from 'doing', so kinaesthetically-based lessons seem to be remembered the longest.

Having learned English as a second language, I can identify with problems of international students and am always ready to listen to them and offer help. The same is valid for home students, as I have knowledge and experience of life in this country. Working with external agencies and liaising with services and voluntary organisations has provided me with the necessary experience.

Tutoring Approach:

First I negotiate the times and modes of tutoring with the parents of my potential pupil and agree on fees.
Then I organise a free initial meeting with the pupil and their parents, where I try to establish raport with the pupil. It is important, especially for children, to 'get a feel' of the new tutor and see if they can feel comfortable with her.
Then I try to access as much information as possible from the parents and the child about their progress at school and their attitude to school. If possible, I wish to see samples of the child's school work, or hear anything teachers have said/written about their progress.
During the first lesson I conduct an informal assessment of the pupil's skills - give them a piece of text to read, or free writing or short composition, or a couple of Maths problems to solve. When I get a clear picture of where my pupil stands with a certain skill, I create a short-term plan for work with them. I normally bring materials with me and do not ask parents to buy additional materials. If the parent wishes me to follow a certain help-book, I am happy to oblige.
I update parents regularly of their child's progress - I try to do it after every lesson. I normally leave homework, designed to consolidate the material covered in the lesson, or develop their skills further. I wish parents to be involved as much as possible with helping or monitoring the completion of the homework.
I try to show my pupils as much respect as possible and affirm them as individuals. I acknowledge their birthdays, Christmas, or other family celebrations.
The parents can terminate the service at any time, with only one week notice.

Personal Description:
I am an organised, sociable and confident individual with a can-do attitude, I have discovered that I possess skills and attributes which are transferable within many different job roles both related and unrelated to my education. These include: Reaching targets (personal and professional). Writing memos, notes and feedback, record keeping, communication with office, school faculties, parents and carers. I speak several languages, including Hindi, Gujarati French and Spanish.

Teaching Experience:

Having working for education for 15+ years and covered various areas from: special need, controlling classes, providing feedback for absent teacher, observing health and safety of all involved people. I attend meetings, first Aid, in house and external training days. Report abnormalities, Feed back etc.
I have worked for interpreting services in a various sectors: Independent tribunal, social services, School and OAP organisation. I handle invoices to and from.
I have worked for weekend school for Children, Youth and Family University, where I supported family and children of all ages and back ground. Bought resources, issued invoices, planned lessons and delivered according to dead line.
I get on well with all ages and back ground. I work on my own and as a part of a team. I speak several languages and translate the too , for example, Hindi Gujarati, Urdu, Punjabi.

Tutoring Approach:

Students and parents both want academic success - high grades and the pride that comes with achievement. I believe any student, regardless of ability, can become a high achiever. I know from years of experience that students under perform because they have not learned the right approach or pathway to success.

Any school has the same essential components: attendance, class participation, attentiveness, homework and testing. Most teachers give students points for each category; however, simply showing up on a regular basis and "doing" homework will not guarantee a good grade. The difference between average performance (a "C" student) and high performance (an "A" student) turns on what a student does outside of class.

While no two students learn exactly alike in exactly the same manner, all students must struggle with independent learning. Where do I do my homework? When do I do my homework? How do I do my homework? Am I well organized? If not, how can I become better organized? Do I know how to study for quizzes and tests? If not, how can I develop better study skills? Students who discover the answers to these questions become high achievers.

help students become stronger independent learners by developing a customized approach to their needs, cognition and retention. Students can spend hours working very hard but working inefficiently to the point their effort fails to translate into results. I create personalized organizational plans so that students learn how to maximize time, work efficiently and retain key information not just for the short term but for the long term.

Personal Description:
I am a best-selling short story writer for Ether Books (Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and a Cambridge qualified English language teacher.

I have taught all over the world including Ecuador, south America where I taught all levels and ages and co-ordinated the English programme for The British School in Quito as well as teaching for various other private English institutions. I have also taught English in China and am now living in south London, teaching, writing and studying Creative writing at UCL.

Prior to teaching, I spent 7 years working as a Practice Manager for a town planning consultancy (I am not as young as I look!).

Teaching Experience:

I am a Cambridge qualified English language teacher with a pass 'B' (- only 23.56% of over 10,000 candidates worldwide receive this pass mark). I have taught ESL, ESOL, Business and General English along with English for Academic Purposes, IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation. I also teach area-focused classes in reading, writing, listening and speaking communication skills, as well as pronunciation classes.

I teach all ages, from 3 years old to Adult. Over the past 4 years I am proud to say my students have gained excellent results at various Cambridge and Trinity examinations, at all levels.

My passion for teaching has taken me across the world and so I am experienced with teaching English to children and adults from a multitude of backgrounds and faiths. I have taught ESOL using Skills for Life materials to adults and tutored for Citizenship and Literacy.

I have also studied for a BA(HONS) in Journalism and am currently studying Creative writing. For me learning and education, especially the English language in all its forms, has been a lifelong pleasure and it gives me great happiness and pride to be able to guide others in the same pursuit.

Tutoring Approach:

It is important to get to know and understand my students needs and focus; why they are studying, what they are trying to achieve and aim for and what their timeline or deadline is, if any. I will then tailor the lessons accordingly. I actively encourage my students to immerse themselves in language. Learning doesn't stop when the class stops. I set homework relative to the student and their learning aims and I expect the student to take responsibility for completing it. By working together we can ensure that learning aims become positive and successful achievements!

My classes and lessons are interactive and I try to use realia and real life situations to model language and grammar. I believe that whilst it is important to study hard, learning experiences should also have a good dose of fun, at all ages!

Personal Description:
I live in Cumbria and have a range of work experiences to draw on, including researching for the BBC daily survey and the Centre for Social Policy Research and Development. I have also worked as a housemother for children with learning difficulties, as an advocate within the voluntary sector and as an advocacy development worker.

After gaining my PhD, my more recent work has been as an Education lecturer in higher education which has also involved me in a number of research initiatives, tutoring undergraduate and postgraduate students and working on research governance and ethics. I have a wide range of peer reviewed publications and a number of current book contracts. I believe education is a right for all people at all levels and that it is best viewed as a lifelong experience.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked at a college teaching A level Sociology and more recently at a Russell Group university for 8 years teaching a wide variety of topics to undergraduate and postgraduate students including sociology, social policy and politics, social psychology, social theory, person centred approaches, gender studies, disability theory, social research, critical thinking, communication & study skills. My last two national student survey results gave 93% and 100% for quality.

I have also previously taught on women returning to work courses through the University of Lancaster as well as youth and community and training the trainers courses.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a student centred approach to tutoring. Each person has different needs and different approaches to learning. Initially we will assess your needs and preferences together and work out how to deliver teaching in the most effective way for you to achieve your goals. I also encourage a proactive approach where students learn to take responsibility for their learning in between person to person tuition. This is especially important for students going on to university education.

Personal Description:
My name is James I thought about teaching when I was at secondary school, I`m now 35 years old. Tutoring for me is a second profession. I attended the Christchurch Secondary School in Ashford and have attained a my DTLLS - Diploma in Teaching in 2014 at Christchurch University. I teach as part of my day job, teaching law and legislation to the new Officers.

My passion for teaching in my day job has now excited me to the point where I would like to support others in maximizing their potential.

I have been teaching as part of my current role for 6 years, initially with a city and guilds qualification in assessing. I then wanted to further my professional development by completing a teaching diploma at University which I achieved in 2014. I am responsible for teaching new recruits in my day job. This has involved classroom based teaching, scenario assessing and assessing individuals in the workplace against a set of National Occupational Standards (NOS`s) set and awarded by City of Guilds.

I have tutored adults aged 18 - 65 at work and also young persons aged 12-16. I have children myself with the youngest now 8 years of age whom i regular tutor in Maths and English.

My aim is to make the subject fun and engaging. Without having this engagement, learning simply doesn`t happen. The student has to be the number one priority. Being able to talk to the student about common interests as well as the subject matter will allow them to have that moment of escapism before being brought back to the subject at hand. My sessions, although structured to the syllabus being taught are always adaptable and so therefore the style of my teaching will always adapt to allow the student to get the very best from the session.

My style of teaching is relaxed yet purposeful ensuring a quality service.

I have been a fully qualified teacher for post 14 for 5 years. During that time I have taught psychology at college, many community courses such as child psychology, counselling, literacy, English to speakers of other languages, employability.
I have won an award for 'Tutor of the Year' because I have a 100% attainment rate and my learners gain a genuine love of learning, many exceeding all expectations.
I am more than comfortable working with learners who struggle with literacy and always create a positive, pleasant learning environment.

Tutoring Approach:

Humanistic, learner led.
In my experience the most important part of the teaching process is to give the learner the confidence and the tools they need to explore and to want to research for themselves.
By giving them a love of learning you provide the foundation for them to flourish.
