Personal Description:
I am a mature professional, originally from Yorkshire. I hold a current enhanced CRB check and have spent most of my life working with children and young people. Most of my work has involved teaching pupils with special educational needs. At present I work part-time as a teacher in a hospital school with students 5-19yrs. I am highly qualified in teaching. In addition to a Bachelor of Education degree with honours, I hold an MA in the Psychology of Education, and diplomas in the teaching of reading (literacy and literature) and in Counselling. I also have a certificate in TEFL My work with children has not been restricted to teaching - I have worked as a Youth and Community worker, as a Counsellor and as a Child Protection Officer. My hobbies include drama, dance and choral singing.

Teaching Experience:

I trained as a teacher of infants but I have worked as a teacher of all ages and abilities. The majority of my teaching has involved pupils who experience a variety of special educational needs - social, emotional and behaviour difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, dyslexia, medical and mental health difficulties. I have also taught in secure accommodation. My teaching is effective - my work as a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator in a large primary school in South London received a very good Ofsted report because the pupils with special educational needs made good progress - better progress than pupils in the school who did not have special needs! I am also on the Upper Pay Scale for teachers who have proved to government that their teaching interventions make a difference to pupil attainment.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a great deal of experience as a teacher of individuals and small groups in school and many years experience of private tutoring. My success comes from teaching each person, adult or child as a unique individual. I am popular with my students because I endeavour to make learning fun whilst retaining high expectations of effort and success, being patient, firm but fair. My fee reflects my knowledge, skill and experience. I integrate my tutoring with the tutees school syllabus and approach, increasing motivation with encouragement, challenge and the introduction of new knowledge in carefully paced steps. I begin with a thorough assessment of a student's strengths and weaknesses at my base where I have assessment materials for all ages. My fee is payable for this session when clients can examine my CRB check, qualifications and we can discuss mutual availability (times) and location.

Personal Description:
I'm an enthusiastic and hardworking individual with extensive academic and teaching experience. I have recently passed my PhD in politics, having been awarded a PhD scholarship at the University of Westminster in 2011. Prior to that, I was awarded a scholarship to study for an MA in political philosophy at York University, which I completed in September 2009. And prior to that, I studied politics and sociology at Leeds University and gained a prize for the highest mark in my graduate year, out of a pool of over 200 students.

Besides my academic work, I have worked for a number of think-tanks as a researcher on a variety of subjects, from economics to geopolitics. Working for think-tanks in and around Westminster provided me with a good understanding of public policy making and advocacy.

I also have a lot of experience of voluntary and charity work and enjoy a range of hobbies, including the guitar and a number of sports.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive experience of teaching and last year received a university award for teaching excellence, voted by the students themselves. Over the past five years I have worked as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster on the first year module "Introduction to Political Theory" and the second year module "Political Research Methods". The work involves planning lessons and tailoring them to the needs of my students, teaching and facilitating debate in class and providing students with advice regarding their university work. I also have extensive experience of marking assessments and dissertations which stands me in good stead to give advice to university students.

Additionally, I have a TEFL qualification and before going to university I taught English for three months in Bolivia. I've since taught English in Israel and the Palestine. Furthermore, I worked as a guitar teacher for a number of years, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also have vast experience of giving presentations, lectures and seminars both at university and in the workplace.

Personal Description:
I am an organised, sociable and confident individual with a can-do attitude, I have discovered that I possess skills and attributes which are transferable within many different job roles both related and unrelated to my education. These include: Reaching targets (personal and professional). Writing memos, notes and feedback, record keeping, communication with office, school faculties, parents and carers. I speak several languages, including Hindi, Gujarati French and Spanish.

Teaching Experience:

Having working for education for 15+ years and covered various areas from: special need, controlling classes, providing feedback for absent teacher, observing health and safety of all involved people. I attend meetings, first Aid, in house and external training days. Report abnormalities, Feed back etc.
I have worked for interpreting services in a various sectors: Independent tribunal, social services, School and OAP organisation. I handle invoices to and from.
I have worked for weekend school for Children, Youth and Family University, where I supported family and children of all ages and back ground. Bought resources, issued invoices, planned lessons and delivered according to dead line.
I get on well with all ages and back ground. I work on my own and as a part of a team. I speak several languages and translate the too , for example, Hindi Gujarati, Urdu, Punjabi.

Tutoring Approach:

Students and parents both want academic success - high grades and the pride that comes with achievement. I believe any student, regardless of ability, can become a high achiever. I know from years of experience that students under perform because they have not learned the right approach or pathway to success.

Any school has the same essential components: attendance, class participation, attentiveness, homework and testing. Most teachers give students points for each category; however, simply showing up on a regular basis and "doing" homework will not guarantee a good grade. The difference between average performance (a "C" student) and high performance (an "A" student) turns on what a student does outside of class.

While no two students learn exactly alike in exactly the same manner, all students must struggle with independent learning. Where do I do my homework? When do I do my homework? How do I do my homework? Am I well organized? If not, how can I become better organized? Do I know how to study for quizzes and tests? If not, how can I develop better study skills? Students who discover the answers to these questions become high achievers.

help students become stronger independent learners by developing a customized approach to their needs, cognition and retention. Students can spend hours working very hard but working inefficiently to the point their effort fails to translate into results. I create personalized organizational plans so that students learn how to maximize time, work efficiently and retain key information not just for the short term but for the long term.

Personal Description:
I live in Cumbria and have a range of work experiences to draw on, including researching for the BBC daily survey and the Centre for Social Policy Research and Development. I have also worked as a housemother for children with learning difficulties, as an advocate within the voluntary sector and as an advocacy development worker.

After gaining my PhD, my more recent work has been as an Education lecturer in higher education which has also involved me in a number of research initiatives, tutoring undergraduate and postgraduate students and working on research governance and ethics. I have a wide range of peer reviewed publications and a number of current book contracts. I believe education is a right for all people at all levels and that it is best viewed as a lifelong experience.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked at a college teaching A level Sociology and more recently at a Russell Group university for 8 years teaching a wide variety of topics to undergraduate and postgraduate students including sociology, social policy and politics, social psychology, social theory, person centred approaches, gender studies, disability theory, social research, critical thinking, communication & study skills. My last two national student survey results gave 93% and 100% for quality.

I have also previously taught on women returning to work courses through the University of Lancaster as well as youth and community and training the trainers courses.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a student centred approach to tutoring. Each person has different needs and different approaches to learning. Initially we will assess your needs and preferences together and work out how to deliver teaching in the most effective way for you to achieve your goals. I also encourage a proactive approach where students learn to take responsibility for their learning in between person to person tuition. This is especially important for students going on to university education.

Personal Description:
My name is Nicholas and I have been working as a professional teacher for 5 years. Be it for exams, creative writing or even a first contact with English I can provide you with a well-structured plan in order to achieve your aims.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently working as an English and Maths teacher for the prestigious Prospects Group. As a private tutor I have taught to a wide range of students for the past 5 years. I specialise in the English language as I am a CELTA qualified teacher, a student of MA Degree in Applied Linguistics and an amateur writer.

No matter what subjects we study or what activities we engage in on a daily basis English is the common `denominator` of everything. Our familiarity with this prime skill determines every successful outcome we strive towards in life from high grades and good jobs to exerting influence over others.

Apart from my English-related credentials, I hold a vast number of other qualifications across several areas including, but not limited to, business, arts & humanities and IT as well as several vocational qualifications ranging from car maintenance to operation of industrial vehicles such as P.O.E.T. and Forklift Counterbalance.

This passion of mine for education has enhanced my ability to teach English in virtually every field imaginable as opposed to the majority of English tutors who teach English only for the purposes of passing an academic exam.

Be it therefore for GCSEs or A-levels, IELTS, business, creative writing or even personal development I can provide you with a well-structured route of learning that is tailored to your needs and aspirations.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring involves a flexible way of teaching that is tailored to every student, respecting everyone's differences in terms of working, thinking and studying. The first session with a new student always involves an initial assessment in order for me to assess the learner's level in the subject they are studying. The information derived from this assessment in turn allows me to construct a Scheme of Work which acts as the 'curriculum'; the syllabus that they student will have to adhere to while studying under my tuition.
