Personal Description:
I'm amazing!!!
And I help other people be amazing too!!!
My aim is to increase everyone's understanding of everything!!!

I've been tutoring Maths, Science and English since 2007, for ages 5 to 50. However, I mostly help teenagers with their SATs, GCSEs and A Levels.

Maths, Science and English are the three main subjects that people tend to want tutoring in. (Actually it's five subjects if you break the Science down into Biology, Chemistry and Physics.)

Anyway, as I tutor all of these subjects, my students find it very useful that I can potentially cover a different subject each week, or I can do two hours a week and cover a different subject in each hour.

This obviously makes it much easier for the parents too, because they don't have to find a separate tutor for each subject, or leave their child without the valuable one-to-one support in any of the core subjects.

I've also helped my students with pretty much every major school subject; from History and Religious Studies, to French and Spanish, and even Psychology and Health and Social Care. In fact, experience has shown me that I can help anyone to better understand anything - even something that I didn't even know myself a minute earlier!

Teaching Experience:

Educational Employment

Private Home Tutor
The Right Line
2007 - present
Tutoring GCSE and AS Level Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Tutoring GCSE English Language and English Literature.
Tutoring Numeracy and Literacy (including Phonics) for ages 7 and up.

Life Improvement Course Director
COSRECI
2001 - 2012
(A community education and counselling organisation.)
Assisting students on courseroom-based life improvement courses.
Marking and returning lessons for home-study life improvement courses

Tutoring Approach:

Initially:
I find out the student's strengths and weaknesses.
I find out what they want to achieve from the tutoring.
Together we draw up a rough plan of action to achieve this.

While tutoring:
I ensure the student understands every word of the subject as it comes up.
I aim for a full, conceptual understanding of each point to the best of their ability.
I keep motivation high with reward stickers! (IT WORKS!!!)

My passion for teaching started during my PhD where I taught practical and theoretical chemistry to numerous undergraduates, with particular focus on 1st year students struggling with key concepts to guide them through exams. Since then, I have continued to teach and mentor chemistry across a range of levels with particular focus on helping A-Level chemistry students struggling to get the grips with key concepts.

Tutoring Approach:

I adopt a systematic and logical approach to teaching using 'real-life' examples and models where ever possible to aid the students understanding and visualisation of the problems. This approach not only assists their immediate understanding of the subject, but come exam time, also helps them to identify the correct answer to the problems in front of them. I am available most evenings for tuition, so please feel free to contact me for more information or a quick chat.

It's all about getting the students passionate about what they're learning. Personal Description:
Currently a medical student at University of Oxford. I have a passion for Science and I do mentoring and teaching because I enjoy it the most.
With an enthusiastic and energetic approach and by creating an interactive atmosphere, I encourage the students to work through the problems and understand the underlying scientific and mathematical principles.

Having gone through the A-levels and GCSEs relatively recently myself, and with all the teaching experience as well as working with students and peers of different backgrounds, your success is guaranteed with me.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching formally and informally GCSEs and A-level Sciences and Maths via different schemes, for over three years.
The students that I have helped out in the past have achieved at least two grades higher than their school predicted grades.

I have been involved in Peer mentoring schemes where I have been teaching GCSE Sciences and Maths to students with great difficulty in these subjects.

With that extra bit of encouragement and support, the results have always been `amazing` to the tutees. Prior to my participation in the scheme I have had training in effective communication skills.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutees can choose the topics that they need help with the most, so that tutorials can be tailored to the students' need.

I will be monitoring student`s progress by arranging time (outside tutorials) for tutee to do exam papers under exam conditions, and I will be going through the papers with the students, making sure the previously set targets are reached.

I will also provide extra practice questions from various sources to the tutee so he/she can master the topic before moving on to the next one.

Personal Description:
I have graduated with a first class degree in engineering from Oxford University. Throughout the course, I undertook a wide range of topics from maths and electronics to biomedical and aero-thermal engineering. Subsequently, I joined 'Entrepreneur First' - a government-backed programme to help exceptional graduates start businesses. I co-founded 'SpeakSet' - a business to help combat loneliness and isolation in old age. My strong grounding in maths and the sciences not only drives me to tutoring part time but genuinely excites me!
I am passionate about music and have played guitar, bass and sung in 4 bands at university. I enjoy recording, mixing and mastering and have been doing so for eight years. I have captained my college squash team and enjoy cricket. I have a keen interest in cars and have spent a summer working in 'McLaren Automotive' as a vehicle dynamics engineer.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring through UK Tutors since summer 2012. I have plenty of experience in and regularly teach GCSE and A-Level Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Additionally, I have experience tutoring peers at university and relatives in Maths/Physics/Chemistry/Biology.

Tutoring Approach:

The best way to grasp a topic or concept is to break it down into its smallest components and gain a real understanding of the basics. In this way, it becomes easier to build up to the more complicated topics. This solid foundation doesn't just help with the problems at hand but helps to prepare for the long term too.
Exam technique is also crucial and so, we will spend time concentrating on how to approach papers.
I am always well prepared for lessons and feel that I make difficult topics stimulating and interesting.

Personal Description:
I'm a well spoken and friendly "science geek" with great interpersonal skills. I pride myself on a relaxed and logical approach to problem solving; whether it be at a post-graduate level or the ability to communicate GCSE and A-Level topics in a relevant manor. Throughout my schooling I saw many classmates struggle with topics because they were unable to make a connection to their interests. Personal tutoring allows the tutee to have access to the information in a tailored manor such that they are able to relate the the problem and make clear logical choices about how to proceed.

I graduated with an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham last year and I'm currently in my 1st year of a 4 year PhD, also Chemistry. Throughout my course I did extra maths and physics modules and my research currently also depends heavily on all the sciences and maths. For those interested in Uni-level tutoring within Chemistry; my PhD involves a lot of vibrational spectroscopy (inorganic section), and I regularly use all the physics, maths and inorganic chemistry taught at undergrad level.

Teaching Experience:

Tutoring:
I have tutored multiple students in the past, providing entire revision/improvement courses for both GCSE and A-level students as well as help a variety of university students achieving high grades on specific modules.

The tailored approach of private tuition allows students to quickly build confidence in a subject (and exam technique) which results in achieving grades that each student is capable of. I've also offered subject specific tutoring, such as "Quantitive Analysis for Business", a statistical module for Business Management students.

University:
Demonstrating: I help undergrad students understand and complete practical experiments several times a week.
A-Level Outreach/UCAS: I participate in numerous UCAS events to help potential students and parents understand what Chemistry at Nottingham Uni has to offer.

Outdoor Education:
Last summer I lived in a forest for 3 months and each week had a different group of 12-16 year olds to look after and teach them how to survive in the wild. Catching and cooking our food, building shelters to sleep in and different ways to make fire were just some of the topics covered.

Tutoring Approach:

An essential part of great exam grades is an understanding of not only the subject area, but an understanding of the underlying question. Tailoring a teaching style to every student is essential, especially when it comes to science and maths. Although it's possible to pass exams with a "copy and paste" approach, developing an understanding of the subject area will yield much better grades and almost certainly reducing the amount of stress associated with exams.

Any questions please drop me a message!

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic, determine individual and very academic. Reading on daily basis is a habit and an addiction, as well as; subscribing to several Science journals and magazines and up to date with current developments in the scientific world. I am very open minded friendly and easy to talk to. I assist friends and families with all sort of coursework from international business management, Human Resources,Geography to Sciences. One thing about academic exercises is that knowledge is transferable. The skills acquired in one area can be transferred to another subject regardless of the fact that subject wasn't studied by the individual. What is required is understanding the concepts, having the structure laid out, having the right evidences to back one's assertion and making your literature flow in a coherent and consistent manner. There is a first time for everything, try a tutor out and don't get too paranoid until you test one.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a laboratory technician in Biology and Chemistry laboratory in a college from 2010 to 2012. During my periods as laboratory technician I assist student with assignments. I also teach classes when lecturers are absent. I am an experienced home to home private tutor and teach from primary to university. I still have students I teach all over London and also outside London for instance Slough, Woking etc. I am adaptable and fits quickly in any given environment. I have no problem travelling distances within London. I am an experienced private tutor with students dotted across London. I am also a registered flexible mercurial, fleet tutor.

Grey court secondary school located in Richmond is known to be an 'OUTSTANDING' secondary school with the status assigned by 'Ofsted'. I am currently tutoring Maths and Science in Grey court school and it is a privilege working in this institution.
A private tutor is an individual who provides professional and independent tutelage to a tutee to reinforce and consolidate knowledge and to, enhance better understanding of a particular topic. Evidence from an article in October 2013 Telegraph newspaper stated explicitly that, private tuition on average increases the confidence and boosts academic performances of students.

As a private tutor specializing mainly in Sciences and mathematics I know and understand the difference of private tuition after tutoring over fifteen students. My desire for private tuition developed after working in college as a biology and chemistry technicians for close to two years. I understand that successful science students are those who are capable of unifying theory to practice. These are the style of tutoring that I adopt to help bring conceptualized theory to reality.

I understand that students vary from their method of learning, absorbing and understanding teaching materials. The different types of learners range from kinaesthetic, visual and auditory. During my tutoring session I implement all three method of tutoring and then instinctively monitor and gauge student learning approach and then reinforce the style that is most suitable.
My background an MSc in pharmaceutical biotechnology and BSc in biomedical sciences has exposed me to details of sciences from the molecular level to organism level. Hence, I am very positioned to teach science from different exam boards such as: OCR, AQA, IGCSE, EDEXCEL, WJEC, etc.

Tutoring Approach:

Due to my background as a laboratory technician, my approach is both practical and theoretical. I will ensure you understand the subject topic in depth by creating scenario's, diagrams, examples that matches the theoretical concept being discussed. I will keep prompting the student and using different learning approaches to engage the student to enhance assimilation of the learning material. As an experienced private tutor I have in possession numerous scientific diagrams, lecture notes, and power point presentation which I use in my tutoring. During my tutoring and after students receive materials which continues to assist them in their studies.

I have also worked with Local Government Chemist (LGC) the biggest private scientific firm in Europe with several outlets in the world. I have experienced hands on and progressive scientific developments and several analytically scientific progress.

I demonstrate Scientific experiment and practical alongside teachers. My style of teaching is relating theory to practice. The advantage of this style of teaching is it unifies theory to practice, and hence, consolidating and building scientific confidence.

Personal Description:
I am a 23 year old Austrlian Teacher with a passion for nature and wildlife. I have experience with tutoring students in Australia and I absolutely love working 1 on 1 with students to help them achieve their personal learning goals.

Teaching Experience:

I am a KS3 and KS4 teacher, trained in Australia. I have 1 years teaching experience in Australia and have been working as a KS3 and 4 Science teacher for the last 8 months in England. I will be teaching maths for the 2013-2014 school year so I will have recent experience within this subject.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it is essential to the success of a tutee to first pin-point which particular issues they believe are stopping them from achieving their target grades. From their, I can work with the tutees and their parents on long term success strategies, whether it be revising concepts from previous key stages which were not fully developed, understanding teachers' feedback, or overcoming low literacy skills. This process will help tutees become more self-reliant learners, in turn giving them confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Personal Description:
I am a student taking a GAP year in London. I hold an unconditional place at Oxford University reading History and Economics for 2014. I have just completed my A Levels at Highgate School achieving 2A*s and 1A in Maths, Chemistry and History with an additional 2 As at AS level in Biology and Further Maths, the latter of which I taught myself.

Having just been through the UCAS process and taken SATs I can also provide assistance to those looking to apply to UK universities, Oxbridge or North American Schools.

Tutoring seems a natural choice for me and provides an exciting opportunity for me to combine my love of learning with a passion for interacting with and helping young people to succeed. Indeed when I complete my university degree I have every intention of progressing further and becoming a teacher full time.

Teaching Experience:

I volunteered as a classroom assistant at a Primary School for 4 months during my time in sixth form. I helped especially in Maths and English lessons. It was often challenging, many of the pupils were very young and others were learning English as a second language, but it was immensely rewarding experience. Indeed I took the most from helping individual students one on one, getting to know them and watching their confidence and academic performance improve week by week.

I have also tutored siblings and family friends in ages ranging from 11-16 on subjects ranging from Geography to Latin, including working weekly with a GCSE pupil who went on to achieve an A* in Maths.

I taught myself AS Further Maths, going through the workbook and questions in my own time. This experience taught me a great deal about independent learning and what techniques really are the most effective at understanding information.

Tutoring Approach:

As a young person myself, indeed I am only 18 years old, I understand the challenges faced by students, the pressures they are under and I work with them to succeed during this critical period of their lives.

I myself sat through far too many lessons, catching this or that from teachers, but not quite being able to put all of the concepts together. I will ensure to the best of my ability that pupils will not just be able to pass exams but really understand the material in front of them, putting them in good stead for the more advanced concepts they will encounter in the future.

I take a discursive approach, talking through topics with a pupil, with the help of a text book. When I am satisfied that they understand the concept I reinforce this understanding with questions or mini essays.

Personal Description:
I'm a recent Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Bath and I'm currently working in Bristol. I enjoy socializing with my friends and meeting new people. I love travelling and experiencing new cultures, foods, and lifestyles. I am always learning about something new, be it a a language or a completely unfamiliar topic.

Teaching Experience:

I've previously taught A-Level Chemistry and successfully improved my tutee's grade from C to A. I've also had some experience in teaching basic Maths. Additionally, I hold a TEFL certificate which enables me to teach English globally. Working towards this certificate helped me learn and improve some teaching skills applicable to any tutoring situation.

Tutoring Approach:

Since when I was little, whenever I was taught something at school (or later, university), I usually thought to myself, "this concept could be explained a lot easier". And I proved this to myself in real-life situations or when explaining something to my colleagues. The key to helping my tutees understand easier is to simplify the subject as much as possible, in other words into manageable chunks...
