| Personal Description: I am a graduate of the University of Birmingham, with a degree in Biological Sciences. I have friendly, and well mannered, as well as taking a professional approach to my work. A bit of a geek, i've always had an interest in Science and Technology, and strive to learn as much as I can about these areas. |
Teaching Experience: I started training as a Science Teacher, yet withdrew myself from the course, 2/3 of the way through, due to an inability to deal with classes full of misbehaving students. I realised that I did not want to spend my life teaching science to those who do not care about it, and so have moved away from offical school teaching. My skills in teaching, and explaining science are strong, especially to smaller groups of pupils, or on a one to one basis. Combining this with a sound knowledge of the pedagogy (how to teach) of all the scientific disciplines, I am well experienced with a sound knowledge of the school curriculum, and what is expected of students in the work they produce. |
Tutoring Approach: I take students through a topic at a basic level, with a small test to judge their own understanding in the area. From this, we can then work together on where we need to proceed with |

| Personal Description: I am a passionate, confident and energetic private tutor who can ensure your child achieves their expected level if not higher. I have an excellent tutoring record from boosting pupil confidence so that they can perform better in exams and coursework to pupils passing selective entrance exams thereby achieving their ambitions. I am realistic and set measurable yet challenging targets for my private students. I strongly believe in that if a student works hard and is dedicated, they will achieve their ambitions and desires. I have and always will endeavour to deliver at the highest level to achieve this. |
Teaching Experience: I have worked in primary and secondary schools since I was reading for my Biochemistry degree at King's College London. I have worked as a school mentor and teaching assistant before embarking on my teacher training course. I have gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education Studies qualification from Keele University. As part of this course, I had placements in 3 different schools both primary and secondary. I have been a private tutor since 2002. Despite being new to this role, I'm very energetic and full of ideas which have guaranteed success. Being young is advantageous as I can motivate your child to perform at their best if not higher. |
Tutoring Approach: Confident, dedicated and passionate approach, using a wide range of teaching methods tailored to how your pupil learns. My lessons are enjoyable and exciting, which I feel is important so that the pupil doesn't lose interest. I also have the ability to adapt the pace of the lessons thereby sustaining the pupils attention and concentration. I use a wide range of resources depending on the level of study. For example, for a GCSE Maths student, as part of their homework, I assign sufficient GCSE exam-style questions right from the beginning so that the pupil is able to come to terms with the standard required of them. I use a wide range of textbooks and other literature as appropriate. I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which I use to ensure parents are aware of their child's progress and to inform them of my future lessons. |

| Personal Description: I graduated in 2009 from the University of Cambridge as a master of Natural Sciences. As part of my four year degree I spent the first two years studying a range of science subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Metallurgy and also Mathematics. In my final two years I specialised in Materials Science and Metallurgy which allowed me to continue using and build on my knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. I would therefore feel confident in tutoring these subjects up to A-level standard. I have been raised bilingual in German and so am able to tutor this as well. My motivation for tutoring is to help people learn more and become more interested in the Physical Sciences, Mathematics and German. I hope that my academic studies so far will be useful in helping others in their studies. |
Teaching Experience: My teaching experience comes from helping friends and family members during their times of studying. I enjoy helping people to understand whatever it is they are studying. I hope that as I tutor my tutoring standards will also continually improve. |
Tutoring Approach: I will adopt a flexible approach to tutoring. I can discuss the needs of any tutees and thus tailor my tutoring to specific cases. Whether help is needed with specific topics, or a general course is needed I will be able to provide help. |

Teaching has always been a passion of mine as I feel knowledge is a wealth that should be shared. |
Teaching Experience: Have worked on Personal Service Groups with many schools in the Birmingham area, especially primary schools where I have taught some children with learning disabilities too. Having done personal tutoring before with many students who have all gone on to do exceedingly well in their 11+ exams (getting into the grammar school of their choice e.g. King Edwards Camp Hill, King Edwards Five Ways, King Edwards Handsworth for Girls etc...), and many GCSE students ( students boasting A*'s in particular the Chem, Biology, Physics). |
Tutoring Approach: My personal approach would be to see the level that the child is at, and from their assess the best way forward, as something I know very well is that every child is different and will therefore have a different style of learning. If a child learns by examples I would apply every example that can be done to that task and from their look to apply their knowledge in a different question to see if they understand, and the level to which they understand. However my final aim will be to push the childs ability to the max so they can eventually reap the benefits. |

| Personal Description: My name's Richard, I am 27 and currently a teacher of science at a secondary school. I'm a very experienced and confident teacher and have also taught many other subjects due to my previous life as a supply teacher. I tend to be well liked by learners of all ages as I insist on mutual respect in the classroom. I'm firm when needs be but by making learning fun and accessible to pupils, I find I rarely need to be. I'm committed to improving not only the learner's educational experience, but also to my own development as a teacher. |
Teaching Experience: I currently teach science at Perryfields High School, which is an ever-improving school in Oldbury. We attained the best GCSE results in Sandwell last year and are looking to build upon that success this year. I have spent the last 7 years teaching in a variety of schools and I am also a specialist in working with children with SEN. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring employs a wide array of teaching styles in order to satisfy the different learning needs of the individual. I use a combination of computer based and Internet resources, kinaesthetic activities, discussion based exercises as well as the more traditional "chalk and talk" approach. |
